Good morning ladies, how is everyone today?
I'm hungover again (must stop drinking too much of that pukka tea and getting ratarsed).
I told my dad last night - he started saying 'oh dear' so I rushed in to say it was good news and we'd been planning it for a while (couldn't say 'trying' to my dad!).Hmm
He's not known for his tact but I guess I should expect everyone to assume its unplanned after a 10 year gap. It still made me feelHmm though. I think I should be allowed to tell someone who will be excited to make up for it.Smile

Ninunina · 06/08/2013 07:25

So is your scan at 6 1/2 weeks pinkp? I'm debating if I should move my appointment to 6 1/2 weeks or 7 weeks. I had seen DD hb at 6 weeks, but I don't want to take the risk of not seeing anything. Maybe I'll move it to 7 weeks to be sure. It's it just me or is time moving really slowly. I'm only 4+3 weeks and I feel like I've been pregnant for ages already. I think it's because I'm bursting to tell people, especially since majority of my friends are all pregnant with #1 or #2.

iloveweetos · 06/08/2013 07:58

Hi all x hope you're all feeling well. I'm due on 4 April so just over 5 weeks! Scary lol x

iloveweetos · 06/08/2013 07:58

Has anyone had an early scan in the Birmingham are that they would recommend?

cookielove · 06/08/2013 09:15

Morning all. Last day of holiday then heading home.

I am 5+5 Grin

Cloudstar · 06/08/2013 09:22

Hi all. My first NHS scan (for dating) will be at 8.5 weeks.

I'm 5+3 today and the last couple of days have started feeling sick. Trying to get all the rest I can in between looking after my 2 yr old.

Trinpy · 06/08/2013 09:48

Morning everyone. I got overreacted and tested with my last cb digi at 5 am this morning Blush . Still at bloody 2-3 though Angry . I'm only 5 weeks today so it's still early. Just debating whether to drag myself over to boots and throw more money at pregnancy tests or to just accept that I'm pregnant. Would be reassuring to see a 3+ by Friday though as I'll be at the same point I mc before so a difficult day.

Trinpy · 06/08/2013 09:50

Over excited not overreacted - though that is also true!

Trinpy · 06/08/2013 09:57

overexcited not overreacted - though that's probably true too...

Trinpy · 06/08/2013 09:58

grr stupid phone!

BartBaby · 06/08/2013 12:14

cloudstar will you get another scan at 12 weeks aswell or are you just having the dating scan a bit earlier?

trinpy im 5 weeks today aswell and considering another digi this week to see if the sate has changed. Clearblue must be making a mint out of all of us lovely ladies Grin

Vikkijayne2507 · 06/08/2013 12:44

pinkpeoniesplease · 06/08/2013 13:16

Ninu- No I will be 7+2. I didn't want to risk spending all that money and not seeing a heartbeat! I am 6+1 now so it's strange thinking the heart may be beating already Grin

Fairypants · 06/08/2013 13:32

I haven't even contacted the midwife yet- that's today's job. I'm only 4+1 though so still a while to go before I can have a scanHmm
I did another ic today as I was feeling sad that my cb one faded. It was def darker than on sat which is good to seeSmile
Anyone else feeling a bit dishonest around all the people who don't know? I know it has to be done and no-ones going to get cross about not being told this early but I'm not good at lying so feel really conscious of it.

iloveweetos · 06/08/2013 14:17

Fairy I feel the exact same! And part of me wants to just blurt it out so I can talk about baby things!!!!

cookielove · 06/08/2013 14:37

fairy I felt really bad lying to my parents and family so told them 4 days after I found out. Its been almost 2 weeks, since I found out so it feels easier to lie to my work colleagues now. Although I am pretty sure 2 people overheard a private conversation about it, they haven't said anything directly to me!!

Cloudstar · 06/08/2013 17:02

Bartbaby I will have the 12 week one too. I asked for an early one as an extra as had a complicated pg last time.

Trinpy and Bartbaby my advice is not to get caught up with the cb digi indicators! On another pg forum I post on one woman had a hcg beta over 4000 and was still getting 2-3 on the digi (they are meant to go to 3+ with a beta over 2000). I don't think they're reliable at all and can cause stress - you know you're pregnant so I say relax and enjoy it rather than putting yourselves through unnecessary worry. From one who has poas one too many times in the past myself!

BartBaby · 06/08/2013 18:22

Thanks cloudstar i didnt get one in the end. The original ones i had last week went from 1-2 to 2-3 so im happy with that. Im definately enjoying it so far. Cant stop looking at baby things Grin

ChocChaffinch · 06/08/2013 18:53

am 5+5 today and had proper old school vomiting after brushing teeth this morning. Felt v nauseous all morning but stuffed in loads of food, literally eating every hour, a crumpet...an apple..a yogurt etc seems to have settled as day gone past.
dreading sickness getting worse, it's so dispiriting
boobs still v sore, agree the fingernails thing and the faster growing eyebrows is annoying!

ChocChaffinch · 06/08/2013 18:56

I know it feels like lying to neglect to tell people at this stage... but really, people aside from family probably won't thank you for telling them, you just cause them worry too Grin
we've told our parents now, just in case we need them if stuff goes wrong, haven't told any sibs though as they'll all tell their partners... and some of them know our friends...
also don't want anything appearing on the dreaded social media Wink

EverthingcrossedforApril14 · 06/08/2013 20:08

Evening Ladies, hope everyone is well, I cannot believe only one day has passed since I was last on MN, this is the slowest passage of time ever!
I am 5 weeks today, anyone else not having very many symptoms? my sore boobs are no more and other than feeling like I am on a boat sometimes and exhausted all the time, nought else much happening. My GP told me that it was usual to have symptoms prior to six weeks, I had plenty when I was first pregnant, but not so much anymore, this is all confusing and worrying.

Hope you are all doing well and tolerating the wait!

Re: telling people, we did not tell anyone until after the first scan with DD, she was the first grandchild on both sides and we did not want to deal with other peoples disappointment and sadness if something happened. With DS we told family and a few close friends from about 6 weeks, there were some medical issues early in pregnancy and I needed to attend the hospital frequently so we needed family to help look after DD. Not sure when we will say to family and friends this time, my sister-in-law recently had a MC so that is making me reluctant to say anything.

My friend who has had a number of MC and one ectopic pregnancy said that is always best to tell a few people that you are close to because if something does go wrong it is easier to contact people and get a lot of support immediately.

Ninunina · 06/08/2013 20:24

Ok...is it just me, or is anyone else's tummy already look a little "rounder"? I've been really careful with what I'm eating. I'm cutting out all junk food completely and trying to eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg. My scales don't seem to be going up, but my tummy surely is (even DH noticed). How can this be if I'm only 4+3?
I bought some prenatal vitamins today (til now I have just been taking folic acid), and I was very surprised to see that it contained 50%RDA of Vitamin A. I was under the impression that we shouldn't have vit a supplements in pregnancy. Does anyone else's contain Vit A? I can't tell if it is coming from Retinol or Beta-carotene, but I'm thinking of returning them to the pharmacy. Does anyone else's contain vit a?

Vikkijayne2507 · 06/08/2013 20:39

nin mine doesn't have vit a I also thought any vitamin A was a no no

BartBaby · 06/08/2013 20:43

ninu mine is a bit more rounded already aswell. Or i just cant suck it in as much. Maybe its just things in there making space. I think the sac is already forming and organs and what not. So its just reserving its space. Have you got any other dc's? Lots of people have said that you show earlier with the second.

BartBaby · 06/08/2013 20:45

And just checked mine doesnt have vitamin a either
