The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Welcome back crunchy Grin yay at little girl! How exciting.

Just had 16week appt (and 15+3) heard heartbeat 150bpm for first time as felt little one squirm away like a fish flipping over! My blood press is generally lower that average but mw commented on it being esp low at 80/50 and asked if I ever feel dizzy. I do but not at mo so I guess it drops a bit more.

Discussed some birth stuff as I want delayed cord clamping and she was very supportive

MrsRApilot · 25/07/2013 11:17

crunchy that's so exciting!! We find out tonight (providing baby plays along). :-)

MrsGSR · 25/07/2013 11:26

Welcome leel!

extra thats so exciting! We're hoping to get a scan in August that my MIL and sister can come to, but still can't decide if we want to find out!

bunt glad you're appointment went well :)

MrsR good luck for your scan! :)

Sultanajo · 25/07/2013 11:33

Yeay bunt thats so cool you felt flips!!! extra omg a girl! How exciting! Really glad u had a worthwhile trip and there is some improvement in your DH. Nice to have u back.

Welcome another & leel! Grin

Hmmm...there were more things I was gonna comment on but cant remember who said what.

I too ordered a bunch of maternity stuff online - from jojobebe, debenhams and another place beginning with S and some of it arrives today! Really hope it fits and looks good or a mini meltdown may occur! DH said it will be nice when I start showing - well yes it will rather than looking like a bloated whale! Sad

Had a moment of paranoia yesterday night so grabbed the doppler to just check all is ok and got the shock of my life! I found the heartbeat no problem, heard it squirming around and then it moved into a different position which gave a really loud heartbeat that sounded EXACTLY like a galloping horse! I have read about it sounding like that, but never heard it before! It was surreal, amazing and so cool! Grin

In other news the nausea has returned to some extent and am going off certain foods again......WTF!!! Angry

Congratulations crunchy, that's lovely news. On all counts.

And I hope your little bubs hasn't got his/her legs crossed, MrsRA
I sent in my request for extra science and maths modules btw, it looked slightly ridiculous next to 'I already have a level biology and chemistry' but I don't mind doing them.

sultana I'm still fitting into my own things, just. But I feel icky and bloated as opposed to blooming and glowing. Can't wait for a real bump. I'm sure you'll look lovely in your new stuff.

Thank you everyone, for your words of encouragement re my driving lesson. My instructor sounds very relaxed and take things as they come as opposed to the cuntpuffin who was very high energy and obsessed with his pass rate. So I'm going to take that as a good initial sign. It's at 5.30 so I'll let you all know how it went this evening.

Sultanajo · 25/07/2013 12:25

Ekkk enormouse! That sounds much better! Thats what you need in an instructor! Grin

Almost none of my clothes fit - they are all mega tight and almost at the point of indecency! I have quite a few social events coming up, so I HAVE to find something that fits and looks ok! Desperate times..... Not sure going out in just a baggy t shirt is acceptable! Grin It seems to happen every week suddenly that something I wore without any problems last week is shockingly tight this week! I dont see it in the mirror, but my clothes dont lie! Wink Havent seen my mum for a few weeks but am seeing her tomorrow and I can always rely on her being honest about how I look, so am just preparing myself! Shock

MrsGSR · 25/07/2013 12:38

Good luck for your driving lesson enormouse :)

I've just had my letter through and its very low risk for downs, which is reassuring.

I was lying in my back earlier and baby seems to have finally moved to a more central position, I don't look quite so wonky! When is it we're supposed to stop lying on our backs?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 25/07/2013 13:34

enormouse I am waving pom poms for you to get a good instructor at last and pass!

extra a wee girl! Yay! So glad your DH is feeling less low. Hurrah for an excellent holiday all round then!

book (?) and MrsG and ohgodsomeoneelseIcan'trememberwhorubbishbrain yay for excellent test results!

Busy today, when all I want to do is sit at my desk and MN work on the newsletter. GO AWAY WELL MEANING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND STOP BOTHERING ME.

Frogcatcher · 25/07/2013 14:17

Checking in on my phone from sunlounger in Portugal on hols so not been able to catch up very well.

I've managed to bring clothes in hols that fitted when I packed last week but now don't fit Blush. Luckily I bought a pair of maternity shorts in the sale so whilst they're a bit loose at least I will have something!

DP & I also arguing loads mainly about DSS. I think we're both a bit scared now that its becoming physically real. I'm also struggling a bit with food out here as I'm pescatarian but a lot seems to involve blue cheese or goats cheese. I have found some alcohol free beer tho & a couple of cheeky white wine spritzers. Blush

Frogcatcher · 25/07/2013 14:22

Oh & yesterdaywhen I was lying down on the lounger I swear I could see & feel my tummy pulsing. Baby's heartbeat if it was close to surface (I'm pretty skinny) or just my own? It was weird but DP not there at time to see it. I'm 15+5.

Bluecarrot · 25/07/2013 15:42

Humpty - no schemes here for cloth nappies unfortunately. I used to volunteer for a non profit that promoted cloth nappies and more natural lifestyle and campaigned for more help. Might be worth taking it up again now!

Enormouse - there are meetings in Lisburn and Carrick. Look at www.slinglibraryni.co.uk/

Bluecarrot · 25/07/2013 15:54

There's also mums market NI this Saturday in Carrick ( and last Saturday of every month) I plan to go this week and see what it's like.

I was in ikea today and spotted the Stuva wardrobe frame which is small enough to fit under the sloping eaves in the nursery ( first ive seen!) Took a leaflet to see what DP thinks then spotted the frame for 40% off with v minimal damage in bargain corner... Plus a matching table also 40% off. Snapped them up and had an audience while dismantling them but think they will be perfect.

MrsGSR · 25/07/2013 16:05

Frog I can see my heartbeat in my stomach, I was hoping it was baby this morning but it's at the same pace as my pulse.

I'm getting really impatient wanting to feel baby move!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 25/07/2013 16:12

frog sorry to hear you're arguing, but hoping it's still a relaxing holiday.

MrsG me too - COME ON BABY, KICK!

Sultanajo · 25/07/2013 17:27

mrsg awesome test results! I read its around 16 weeks to stop lying on your back, but my midwife said not to worry too much.

frog well jel of your sunlounger in portugal! Thats typical clothes issues! Amazing how things change so quickly!

Well we made it to kiddicare and it was amazing!!! Loads of things cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere AND we have decided on a car seat and pram! Going for the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat and the uppababy vista travel system, which has £100 off in certain colours!!! Grin

Frogcatcher · 25/07/2013 17:43

Thanks mrsgsr I thought it must be as it didnt seem that fast but you should have seen me trying to check! Other people round the pool must have thought I was mad!

MrsGSR · 25/07/2013 18:04

sultanajo thats really exciting :) the cabriofix had the joint highest Which rating (Yes, I signed up to Which purely to check ratings on car seats and prams...)

Naturegirl82 · 25/07/2013 18:15

All the talk of prams and car seats is scaring me! I have decided I want to use cloth though and that's as far as it gets! Does anyone have advice about using real nappies from the start? A few people have told me I won't be able to use them straight away.

I have had the crappest day. Wasn't feeling well anyway and had THE most stressful day in work. Not helped by the fact I warned people the shit would hit the fan and today it well and truely did. Sad

Also my midwife told me to go to the hospital and pick up my blood test results so I popped in today but they don't have the facility to print them off apparently, which seams a bit ridiculous! They are going to post them out to me so just as well I didn't need them in a hurry!

Toothfairy78 · 25/07/2013 19:05

Hi all,
I've had a crap day too!

I had a ding on my way to work, it was slight and in extenuating circumstances, I.e. making way for an emergency vehicle at an already packed accident scene.

Moments later I arrived at work upset and told my colleagues and one of them said (with a smile and THE hand gesture) "Oh you're upset. Calm down Tooth".

Like no, really? I'm upset? Well done captain fucking obvious, great detective work! And genius idea telling me to calm down, cos that's a really useful thing to say you stupid patronising twunt. This is the guy who goes around saying he's really into management and likes playing politics. Dickhead. He's lucky I didn't throw anything at him.

OK rant over. I'm gonna go eat something.

Thank you!

Xxx

Flowers to tooth and nature

I'm annoyed that I can't get hold of DH. I sent him a text with the results but he hasn't replied and his phone is going through to answerphone Angry he's supposed to be coming back home tomorrow but he's left his keys here, so really I need to know what's happening! I've ordered some maternity clothes from asos to calm me down :)

Naturegirl82 · 25/07/2013 19:24

Ooo MrsGsr I like your idea of ordering clothes to calm down. I text Dh earlier to tell him I was feeling rubbish and was having a stressful day and haven't heard back from him. Sad

I cheered myself up looking at pictures of my puppy Smile

Naturegirl82 · 25/07/2013 19:26

Thanks humpty Smile I'm vegged on the sofa now so feeling a bit better. Just wish today was Friday!

Hugs to tooth your colleague sounds like one of mine!
