The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

nature I just had that feeling as soon as I got bfp. Also the nub theory (google it- it's about the angle of the willy they all have at the 12 week scan). Dh thinks boy so well see :)

sarahleanne · 30/07/2013 13:06

my scan photo is from 10 weeks and I don't think I can see a nub :(

Naturegirl82 · 30/07/2013 13:19

I've looked at a copy of my scan pic and think I can see a nub. I'll have to check the original when I get home. Although I'm a little doubtful on the scientific rigour behind this theory!

sarahleanne · 30/07/2013 13:25

just had a row with dh over his lack of interest in prams. I still don't know whether to get a single pram or a double or use a sling to start with and keep middle child in the buggy on school runs etc and just wait and see if I need a double buggy a few weeks after baby is born. im starting to lean towads waiting and seeing how much I really need a double buggy.
she will be 26 months when baby is born.
dh keeps saying 'you decide, your the one that will be with them 95% of the time on your own' yes thanks for your input and reminder that you are working out of the country 3 weeks out of every friggin month!! argh stressss .

Mythreeknights · 30/07/2013 13:37

Sarahleanne - brilliant, if it's up to you then have fun with his credit card get a double, over/under buggy. I tried soooo hard to cope with one buggy and sling with my two (16 month gap, so younger, but still a 26 month can't walk as far and likes sitting) I gave up when the baby was 6 months old and bought a double, I just wish I'd done it sooner. My youngest will be 3.5 when this one arrives, so he's well out of pushchairs thankfully.

Mythreeknights · 30/07/2013 13:39

PS if it makes you feel better, I said to DH on email: if you bloody well helped more with tidying the house etc then you might get more BJs. He shot straight back: if you gave me more BJs then I might help you tidy the house. MEN!

Sultanajo · 30/07/2013 13:46

Ughhhh! What a feckin day! Work has made me cry twice so far with utter frustration and anger! Roll on frickin mat leave when I won't give a toss any more!!! Angry

Humpty that's really tricky! I really hope as time goes on your Mum clings to you less.....

Nature so pleased your pup is settling well and great to hear about settling overnight! That's fab!

I too don't feel preggers at 18+4 and am trying to keep calm while shitting myself ! MrsV I hope you stay strong and only use your doppler once a week! I said that and then every time I have a moment of paranoia I get it out! Have had to literally tell myself "NO" outloud this morning to stop myself having a quick reassuring listen again! My "bump" also seems to have reduced again and I really don't think any of it is actually what I would class as baby, despite me knowing the uterus is nearly level with my belly button at this stage! The work stress is making me stress more about this little one! Desperately trying to take deep calming breaths as the stress can't be good for baby! Really wish 20 week scan was this Friday instead of next Friday! Am sure once I start feeling proper movements I will start to chill out a bit although then of course I will be worrying about the amount of movements I am feeling Blush

Wow! Really being a moany stressy biatch today! Sorry ladies!

Sultana, if you are crying at work, something (other than the hormones) is wrong!! You need to take a break, have a kitkat, tell your boss to back off, have some time off, write a blog secretly that outlines all your idiotic colleagues and get it published into a best seller. Mat leave is too far away to be in sight just yet - I used to find doing pelvic floor exercises whilst in REALLY dull / upsetting situations really took my mind off things (and allowed me to feel smug at the same time). Brew you poor thing.

sarahleanne · 30/07/2013 14:07

Mythree you actually made me laugh out loud then with the bj comments . Question- ok I'm convinced now to get a double, should I still get a sling for short school runs or is there no point? Baring in mind I have 11 steep steps to my front door and can't imagine lugging the double up and down them every morning. Thanks for the advice. Dh finally piped up and reminded me our eldest was in a pram until gone 3 on day trips.
Oh another stupid question- with the doubles, does the biggest or the smallest go in the underneath chair?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/07/2013 14:09

Mythree MY EYESSSSSSSSSSSSS! Where is the bleach. That child... Oh my. That is one... unique looking baby. I am SO NOT skipping the GTT. Please please please no one let me forget it. I cannot have a baby like that.

MrsGSR · 30/07/2013 14:15

nature I don't know if there is an official deadline for the scan, or if it's just policy in this particular hospital. When I had my dating scan they have me a note to take to reception saying my scan needed to be between sometime in August and the 5th of Sept, so they booked it for the 3rd of Sept. It seems like such a long way away!

MrsGSR · 30/07/2013 14:19

Mythree WHAT!!?? I have to have the GTT due to my dad being diabetic, I've been told the test is really annoying, but no way am I skipping it now!

Sultanajo · 30/07/2013 14:20

Thanks mythree! Pelvic floors! Good idea! Grin

Omg!!! How the hell did she deliver him naturally!,Shock Shock Shock

Sarahleanne - get a sling too - you will need a sling/baby bjorn for about 18 months, although I hear the Ergo baby is a good (US) model that can be used until they are much older (e.g. 3 yrs old). With 3 kiddies, you'll need all the kit you can get your hands on. With 11 steps I'd imagine you'd either put baby in car seat inside and carry out to put in car, carry baby without car seat and put in car, or just sling to school. Biggest baby/child goes underneath in a Phil and Teds, not sure about other buggys.

MrsVDB · 30/07/2013 14:33

Apparently it's 99% accurate

Penny31 · 30/07/2013 14:37

sultana chin up and try not to get frustrated. Does your manager know how you feel? Can you take a couple of days off?

Penny31 · 30/07/2013 14:43

Uh oh now I'm worried about an abnormally huge baby!

TarkaTheOtter · 30/07/2013 14:59

Please do get the gtt - it's really not that bad. Uncontrolled gd doesn't just cause large babies there are lots of potentially serious consequences including an increased risk of still birth.
Gets off soapbox

sarahleanne · 30/07/2013 15:00

Thanks mythree that's really helped alot :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/07/2013 15:02

Gah! Had delicious chilli con carne jacket potato for lunch and now have the MOST appalling heartburn. I'm going to have to force down a Gaviscon tablet aren't I?

Sultanajo · 30/07/2013 15:22

Oh no humpty! What u need is one of sultanas extra special, mint choc chip milkshakes!!! Grin

penny yep - another thing to worry about!,Grin Was meant to be having a catch up with my boss today, but as usual other things came up for him so postponed until tomorrow.... No chance of time off just yet - have a couple of days booked in two weeks and had to just bite the bullet and take them! Basically been doing two peoples jobs for 1.5 years and its all coming to a bit of a head now that I am trying to get everything in order for when I go off. Everything feels out of control and I hate being disorganised! It will all get sorted one way or another am sure....will just make me appreciate my time off with bubs all the more! Grin

No one will remember me bit I was on the thread way, way back in the early days. Have one DS, 8 months yes, DC2 was a BIG surprise and due on 10 Jan

Hope everyone is well? I'm starting to feel a lot better. Although got a hiatus hernia so terrible acid reflux meant an emergency dash to A&E at 4:00am at the weekend - the sights you see Grin. Omeprazole is now my friend! If anyone ends up with bad reflux, do not be fobbed off with ranitidine - tis shit. Omeprazole is the way to go!

I'm off to try and catch up on this thread.

Naturegirl82 · 30/07/2013 15:45

I am in the most boring meeting right now. Only good thing will be it will be nearly home time when it finishes Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/07/2013 15:51

sultana oooh YES PLEASE. I loves mint choc chip, me!
Also, I hear you on the doing two people's jobs - when i started, I looked after: news (online stories, print newsletter, e-newsletter), archive, library, events (planning and management).
I now do: news, archive, library, events, membership and bookselling.
My payrise for taking all of this on? Less than cost-of-living increase in the past 12 months.
They are gonna have fun replacing me!

gobbo I remember you! Welcome back, hiatus hernia and all. Sounds grim.

Oooh, talking of such, where is littlepeapod? She MUST be back from hols now?

nature I am pretending to work everytime boss walks past, but really MNing incessantly. I have to teach tonight from 6.30 - 8.30, so may disappear out for a (decaff) coffee before then I think or I will lose my MIND. Just calculated, I have 98 more working days to go (excluding bank hols, and rest of my leave for this year). 98. I can do it.
