The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

I'm not a fan of ice cream, but it definitely helps with heartburn.

We've all been making a baby names list this evening. Boys' names are hard!

MrsVDB · 29/07/2013 19:25

toby we were opposite although we had chosen George but couldn't have that now! We have 1 boy name and 2 girl names. It's tricky though isn't it!

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 19:26

enjoying! You never know when it will strike, so definitely worth having a few trials! Wink

Toby how funny! We arent having problems with boys names as it happens. In fact the two names on the lead are unisex which is quite exciting, although we both prefer them as boys names. Bound to be a girl now! Grin

mrsv George was one of mine, as is Alex! Gonna keep Alex on the list, but George is obviously off now! Smile

I've picked my names, Jack or Holly :)

Pretty sure I've just felt a proper little thump, from the outside! Felt flutters led down so had my hand there, then thump! Thought I may or been imagining things but then it happened twice more! 17 weeks today. Am I going mad?

TobyLerone · 29/07/2013 19:31

We want something a bit unusual. We've got a much longer list of pretty, unusual girls' names than we have for boys. But we've got a fair few, and there's plenty of time yet!

AnotherStitchInTime · 29/07/2013 19:53

I went through tubs of mint choc chip ice cream with dd1 sultana, it works.

With dd2 I preferred cucumber and yoghurt raita.

Headaches and flutters here too.

Both dd's have very unusual names so we have to find something equally unusual that suits their very mixed heritage. Easier for a girl than a boy , also you have to make sure whatever it will get shortened to won't sound strange, get them picked on or be rude.

enormouse · 29/07/2013 19:55

We're decided on a girl's name - Renee after DPs much missed granny.
But can't agree on a boys. I like Felix which is apparently 'too cat food' and Aiden. DP likes Rory and Craig which I find a bit meh. I'd put it up for debate on the names forum but I'm too chicken.

Its a shame George is out atm as a name though, I like it.
also like Jack and holly sarahjayne quite classic and not too trendy.

Before we knew what gender toddlermouse was we unanimously decided on a boys name without debate but couldn't settle on a girl's.

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 19:56

Lol another! Plus the initials may spell something dodgy! So many considerations!

MrsGSR · 29/07/2013 19:56

DHs stepdads kids are Jack and Holly! We've got a favourite girl and a favourite boys name, and another 4 boys names we like but no more for girls! Hopefully we'll have 1 girl and 2-3 boys :)

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 19:58

mrsgsr if only u could plan accordingly! Grin

TobyLerone · 29/07/2013 19:59

I like Felix and Rory :o

I'm thinking of making a post on the names board. Sort of a 'if we like Sebastian, Tristan and Evan, what else might we like?' thing.

We're not finding out what it is, and we probably won't give it a name for a couple of days anyway, just to see what 'fits'.

Percypiglet · 29/07/2013 19:59

I would also agree with my body being open to comment by everyone. Likewise, I have noticed now everyone at work knows I am pregnant everyone feels the need to comment on what I am eating. Seriously tiresome.

TobyLerone · 29/07/2013 20:00

I think my lot have got the message about what I'm eating. I have had goats' cheese twice this weekend and nobody has batted an eyelid :o

TarkaTheOtter · 29/07/2013 20:11

sultana I like Alex too, for a girl or a boy. I'm not really bothered about names being too popular. Dd's name is prob top 5 and her nickname is quite high in its own right. As is my name.

MrsGSR · 29/07/2013 20:22

I love goats cheese! I couldn't resist buying some last week, but was too chicken to eat it on its own so cooked it into some scrambled eggs. It was amazing!

lovelilies · 29/07/2013 20:24

Another Felix over here! And India for a girl Grin

Penny31 · 29/07/2013 20:26

Arghhhhhh boys names are really hard. We can agree on one. Got 2 girls names though.

sultana where do I get those milkshakes? I'm really suffering!

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 20:31

tarka I would like something not too unusual but not so common that every other kid has the same name....

penny we made them. A few scoops of mint choc chip and vanilla ice creams blended with semi skimmed milk. Lush and am still heartburn free 2 hours later!!! Grin

Penny31 · 29/07/2013 20:38

Oh wow I'm going to try it! Thanks!

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 20:47

Good luck penny! Hope they work for u x

Hehe our little boy is called Alexander Matthew. We've had that picked as a boys name for about 3 years so we were soooo glad the Royals didn't choose Alexander as a first name for their baby.

Feeling so sorry for the people with heartburn. I haven't had any yet but I'm sure that'll come (boke). Went out with DH for dinner tonight and couldn't eat my steak. Now, I LOVE steak so this is extremely depressing. All I could taste was raw meat even though it was clearly cooked fine (and I usually like raw meat). It seems like such an insignificant thing but it's horrible to me as my favourite hobby is eating

We've had a child free weekend so haven't been on much - will have to try and read back to find out the craic.

Naturegirl82 · 29/07/2013 21:10

I've been lurking but been too busy playing with the puppy Smile .

We are really struggling with boys names. We had two on our list but figured we couldn't use one as it's the same as a lot of friends boys. Not struggling with girls names at all.

Sultanajo · 29/07/2013 21:39

Ohhh nature I was just thinking about u and the pupster! How's it all going?Envy

im struggling with names too... my sons name is Callum James and my daughter is called Paige Olivia.
so far we have Maizie Rose for a girl and either Zachary or Tommy for a boy but im not set in stone in any of them and have a feeling this baby will be nameless for 6 weeks lol. DH keeps telling me t chill out as we have loads of time to think of names but im far too impatient.

had 16 week app today, heartbeat was 146.
