Oh I'm good at angry Quod, it's usually my default setting, unfortunately he doesn't deal well with angry, any criticism turns him into an utter wanker makes him aggressively defensive so he ends up yelling at me about how it's all my fault anyway. As I recall, last time I criticised him in that manner it culminated in me filling the lounge with cardboard boxes to pack all of my stuff in...he responds better to tears... actually, he just ignores me whatever I do. Knobhead.

Mummy berries, I'm sure you all know this and it was just me who had no idea but have you all got milk collection shells? They're brilliant! 5 weeks I lived without them (or any knowledge of their existence) so I thought I'd check just in case any of you didn't get the memo either!

MotherOfCleo · 09/08/2013 20:12

Purple mines shit too, if I get angry he gets angry at me and twists everything until I give up, if I cry he doesnt take me seriously. Confused

So far tonight I've cleaned the kitchen, dusted, hoovered all three floors, including the stairs, polished the wooden floor in the lounge, done 2 loads of washing, fed cat and dog, wrapped my mums bday pressy shes 70 tomorrow...wtf! all he has done is drink 4 beers and go for a shower, I asked him to walk the dog and he walked off moaning about his hard day and how he needs a chance to chill out. Poor baby isnt he! So looks like I'll be walking the dog too!

I don't know how you cope with a building site quod, I'd go mad. Sad

Plus I need his help to load the car to take stuff to the tip in the morning, I know exactly how it will go, he wont want to do it tonight and will moan in the morning when we have to do it. Plus it means it will take longer than it should and we'll be running late all day. Can't wait.

BelissimaLol · 09/08/2013 21:06

Milk collection shells???? What are those???

Purplemonster · 09/08/2013 21:44

Yep sounds a lot like Mr Purple, mine is always 'going to' do things - it's amazing what he's going to do but never does. How about I murder yours and you do mine, they'd never catch us that way Grin

Purplemonster · 09/08/2013 21:56

Lol - don't know if you get it but when I feed the baby or express the other boob that's not in use leaks. Shells go in your bra and collect the milk from the leaky boob instead if it going all over you. Before the breast feeding lady told me about them I was sticking a muslin down my top to mop up all the leakage which was pretty messy and horrid, with shells you can tip it in a pot and put it in the fridge instead of wasting it and it doesn't dribble down your sides when the baby wriggles and you lose your grip on the muslin - yuck!

MotherOfCleo · 09/08/2013 21:59

sounds like a plan purple Wink

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/08/2013 08:58

Whoop whoop a new grad. Boom got her BFP

Cavort · 10/08/2013 09:28

Really? That's great news, there's plenty of room for more in here. Grin Huge congratulations to Boom! I am either delirious through lack of sleep or very hormonal but I feel quite emotional at the thought of someone getting a BFP. Confused

Up at 4am yesterday but last night I was rewarded with a lovely uninterrupted stretech of midnight - 6am, which is just as well as I am going out on the tiles tonight. Grin Yes, that's right I am leaving the house all on my own, what a novelty! Grin Grin It's a friend's leaving do and I was just going to pop by for an hour, but DH insists I should make a night of it. I think he wants some alone time with his girl as being the milk machine and him working long hours it all usually falls to me, so who am I to refuse an instruction like that?! I have been expressing like a mad woman! Grin I will have a couple of drinks but don't plan on drinking too much but it will be sooo nice to have a few hours to myself with friends. I am also looking forward to wearing some clothes where boob access is not a consideration!

I bet I am out for less than an hour before I start missing her and phone DH to check on progress...

janey1234 · 10/08/2013 10:05

Oh cavort I'm a little bit jealous! Although next sat I too am going out all on my own to a hen do Smile Won't stay for that long, but the idea of going out at all is very exciting!

Purple those things sound ace, although just like in pregnancy I don't seem to get leaking boobs at all.... Except last night at MIL house when a boob leaked all over her sheets. Her sheets aren't even white so you can properly see a big milk stain against the purple sheet Confused

Alexandra6 · 10/08/2013 10:13

When do leaky boobs start in pg? Mine are looking pretty non eventful so far? I'm not even in the 3rd tri though so prob too early.

Loving all these berry mummy nights out, good to know it can be done with a newborn! janey is that your friend you're also bridesmaid for? Have she chosen the bridesmaid dress yet?

Good news about a new grad and BFP for boom (don't know her yet but she's a berry so obvs lovely Grin )

janey1234 · 10/08/2013 10:22

Oh and massive massive congrats to boom. I really want some more grads, like cavort makes me feel a bit emotional to think of someone just starting out on the pregnancy journey...

Cavort · 10/08/2013 10:26

Ha Alex, you're jumping to gun a bit saying a night out is possible... watch this space for me moaning tomorrow morning that I have a newborn to look after with a hangover. And i'm not sure how my boobs are going to cope if I don't feed/express for several hours. I will pump and dump when I get in but I might have to hand express into a pub toilet if it gets too uncomfortable - glamorous!

I think my boob (it only ever happened to the left one Confused) first leaked colostrum around 28ish weeks. It happened a few times and then I found wearing a sleep bra stopped it.

Alexandra6 · 10/08/2013 10:37

I had a late one last night (well 1am but late by pregnancy standards!) and am at a BBQ today which I know will be boozy, times like this I miss a drink! It's quite hard to last into the night pregnant and sober!

MIL offered to buy us our pram the other day so that's nice of her Smile However she also brought up the smacking debate again Confused Leave it alone!

Cavort · 10/08/2013 10:51

Alex at least you won't have to go through the Christmas party season pregnant - now that was tough!

No matter what your views on smacking are, nobody other than the parents have any business smacking a child so I don't know what your MIL's beef is when it's none of her business what you choose to do.

Quodlibet · 10/08/2013 13:12

Congrats to Boom! How exciting.

So no wedding for me currently - I developed quite scary cramps this morning at the in-laws which prompted a dash in to the maternity unit. Have been checked over and all fine, just uterus playing up but thank god no signs of early delivery which I was quite terrified about for a bit whilst writhing around this morning with what I thought were contractions! Stupidly we hadnt brought maternity notes so couldnt ring my midwife first for reassurance before we headed in to a strange hospital, but they were lovely on the maternity unit. Back on in-laws sofa with feet up now doing rain check on the wedding malarkey.

Purplemonster · 10/08/2013 19:43

Oh no Quod! That sounds really scary, glad you're alright and taking it easy.

Quodlibet · 10/08/2013 19:59

Thanks Purple - sent the inlaws into panic stations as well unfortunately. It was very scary and I still feel shattered and a bit sore and tender, so giving the wedding a miss and taking it as a sign that I need to take it easier.

janey1234 · 10/08/2013 19:59

Oh quod poor you. So glad all is ok xx

Quodlibet · 11/08/2013 08:05

Thanks Janey.

So a little bird told me there may be more than one Elderberry graduate on their way...exciting!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/08/2013 08:15

Cluster diff! Tally got a BFP too. Now we just need a few more and we can all come over and get in your way over here!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/08/2013 08:16

Sorry Quod, in my excitement totally forgot to check you were OK. Scary day yesterday so hope you are now being spoiled rotten with your feet up

BelissimaLol · 11/08/2013 08:23

We're also waiting for thunder to be brave enough to pop in. She got her bfp a few weeks ago Grin
On other news Lara was so good last night I could have cried! 5 hours followed by 3- all in her basket!!!!
Oh quod how scary Hun. Glad it's all ok though Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/08/2013 09:02

Think we're all lurking on the sidelines except me as i am clearly too gobby to lurk anywhere until we get to 12 weeks. Not long!

MotherOfCleo · 11/08/2013 09:40

So so glad all is ok quod! Must have been terrifying! Sad

Fab news that we have lots of new bfps on the way Grin Grin Grin Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 11/08/2013 09:51

Hello all! Am definitely not brave enough to actually come and join in yet but thank you all for the congrats. I think I'll be lurking for a while but looking forward to being a fully-fledged grad when I feel a bit more certain about things, still haven't quite grasped that I'm diffed yet!
