That's really scary quod I'm glad it was all ok x

I'm so tired, didn't get home until half two from a BBQ, it was fun but I suppose I should have left earlier. DH was enjoying the wine and I didn't want to drag him away, although I was a little bit annoyed with him for keeping saying "just one more!" towards the end as I was def flagging from midnight on! Wink I'd prob be the same if it was the other way round though! Between that and a 1am finish on Friday, I was a bit worried about the baby being tired but just because I'm tired, the baby should be fine as it can still rest right? Annoyingly I've been wide awake since 9 despite wanting a lie in!

Hope you had a good night cavort

Yay I'm glad more preggers berries are on the way soon!

Alexandra6 · 11/08/2013 09:57

Cross post hi boom and congrats! Looking forward to you coming over, I'm a 24 week pregnant berry Smile

Cavort · 11/08/2013 10:05

Oh aye, what's this I hear? More BFP action? Great news and huge congratulations to Tally - we look forward to welcoming her over here. Now we all know it's a fact that these things happen in 3's so who will be differ #3? Grin

I'm glad all is well Quod and hope your OH is looking after you while you put your feet up.

Well I am hangover-free and fresh as a daisy after my night out that is not strictly true but don't want to out myself as a bad mother. I got in at 2.30am to find DH pacing up and down trying to rock Elodie to sleep, who had been wide awake and refusing to sleep since 10.30pm. And then she got him back up for the day at 6am. Grin I am glad she has given him a true taster of my current sleep-deprived life. Grin Grin

And I was right about having a boob situation.... I fed her immediately before I went out at 7.30pm and was hoping to last the night before pumping and dumping, but by 11pm was bent over a pub toilet milking myself like a cow to ease my rock hard boobs, while all the strangers in the toilet queue probably assumed I was having a big poo. Blush And when I got in they were so full again I pumped 8oz in about 5 minutes - I wish I could get that when I haven't got to dump it! Angry

janey1234 · 11/08/2013 10:38

Oh more pregnant berries - hoorah and massive congrats GrinGrin

Cavort - 2.30am? Impressive! Love you milking yourself in the loos too. I leaked again all over the bed last night. I think my supply has been upped so much that I almost need miles to wake more often in the night Confused Obv hoping that doesn't happen, I'd prefer more sleep and more washing of bedding than the alternative!

janey1234 · 11/08/2013 12:39

Ooh ooh I think Miles has done his first genuine, intentional smiles today. He's done loads before in his sleep or feeding or whilst doing a poo Blush but today they've looked different and been in reaction to us playing with him. Yay yay so bloody lovely to get something back from the little lad Grin

MotherOfCleo · 11/08/2013 13:48

How lovely Janey!! Grin Grin

Hi boom so chuffed for you and the other ladies! I remember those first few scary days/weeks. Try not to fret too much and enjoy it if you can. It all goes so quickly. Seems like yesterday I was in your shoes, now I'm 27+4 and it's all beginning to feel very real. Grin Smile So excited to have some newbies!!!

cavort this motherhood malarky sounds so very glamourus Wink

HazleNutt · 11/08/2013 14:04

Oh that's great janey isn't it?
Victor is smiling a lot now, once they figure it out they just keep going. have uploaded a photo as well.

BelissimaLol · 11/08/2013 14:24

Wow cav that's pretty impressive!!!! And 8oz too!!!!!
I had my hair done yesterday and will have eyebrows and bikini line done on wed. All to get in the mood for shag date which may not happen as my mum is here Grin
Great news on smile!

janey1234 · 12/08/2013 05:37

Ugh, does anyone else have REALLY NOISY babies? Since his feed at 1am he's been grunting and groaning really sodding loudly. Amazingly he's managing to sleep through it, but I haven't as I've been trying to stop him from waking DP. So I've basically had two and a half hours sleep - and he's still grunting now. I think it might be wind making him make all these straining noises? He's not usually this bad at all, and might groan for half an hour but tonight has been ridiculous....Sad

Cavort · 12/08/2013 07:12

Aww how cute Hazle! Little Vic is looking good! Smile We are getting smiles but they are still too rare to get a photo, despite me hovering over her with a camera.

Janey YY to the grunting and straining noises, but not all the time, just sometimes and I wouldn't say there's any discernible reason for it when she does. Confused Very annoying in the middle of the night though. Flowers

In other news, she's spent the last two evenings napping in her bouncy chair so FX that now means she likes it and we haven't wasted our money. Smile

Alexandra6 · 12/08/2013 07:16

I think this is exactly what DH's nephew does (the two older ones didn't do it), they've complained about the younger one though! And DH's brother was like it (not DH, he was golden baby apparently and ridiculously good, who would have thought it!) Hopefully only a bad night for Miles!

Mine woke me up with a real acrobatic display in the middle of the night but only for a few mins, seems to be worryingly nocturnal though! Wink

janey1234 · 12/08/2013 08:13

Oh hazle I just looked at your pictures - Vic is soooo gorgeous in the one of him smiling. Cute Smile

Quodlibet · 12/08/2013 08:24

Yes the smily Victor photo is just gorgeous. Janey, grunty babies is not something they tell you about is it?! Must be a very frustrating thing to lose precious sleep over.
I am not sleeping well at the mo (well compared to the new mums I probably am) because we still don't have a blind so the light is waking me up, plus like Alex I now have nocturnal renditions of 'Stomp' going on internally.
I am on my last physically demanding work week for a while, thank god, as I think the weekend's dramas may well have been exacerbated by being too tired and wrung out. Trying to take it as easy as possible this week despite a long commute and looking forward to working from home for a bit afterwards!
I am quite glad we still haven't booked our holiday, as was getting all gung ho for a trip to Cuba but am now seriously questioning how secure I would feel out of the reach of decent nearby medical facilities. I had some spotting following my cervix check on Saturday (all gone now fx, and midwife was reassuring about it) but the whole thing has shaken me out of my complacent bubble.

Alexandra6 · 12/08/2013 08:40

Am glad things will ease of physically at work for a while quod and take it nice and easy. My cervix worry shook me up a bit and I was really glad that our holiday was a nice and chilled one in Europe (Spain) and even had a quick look to make sure there was a hospital not too far away just in case (I love travelling and exotic trips so I'm not just one of those people who are funny about going abroad!) Have to say, the holiday did wonders for relaxing me and is one of my pregnancy highlights, I really needed it! Go for what feels right but I'm glad your spotting has gone.

Love that pic of Vic hazle!

MotherOfCleo · 12/08/2013 10:37

I think I must be a heavy sleeper as bubs doesn't wake me up kicking me. Although saying that I was so tired on Saturday night/Sunday morning that I didn't even wake up when my OH got into bed at 6am. (he slept in the spare room as he'd been drinking and snores like a beast when he's been drinking) It is worrying that someone can get into bed with me and I don't notice! Blush Our son is also very naughty, he with kick away like a beast but stops as soon as OH puts his hand on to feel.

hazel vic is gorgeous! That's a really handsome little chap you have their. Grin

Alexandra6 · 12/08/2013 11:01

I'm a really light sleeper mother but I secretly like being woken up by little kicks! I'm sure the novelty will wear off, especially when it becomes tears and grunts! Wink

MotherOfCleo · 12/08/2013 11:33

Haha, yeah I can imagine a grunting baby is as enjoyable as a snoring OH! Blush Confused God, imagine if they are doing it at the same time! I think I'd go mad.

I love being kicked and prodded, although they are getting far bigger now. Had a kick/punch/squirm this morning that physically made me jump and bend a bit to give him room. Blush

HazleNutt · 12/08/2013 23:54

I really can't do things half way. I have never been allergic to anything, not even a little bit. So this evening, we ate some grilled shrimp, I eat them quite often, then went for a walk.
Thought that throat was a bit funny. Then scalp started itching. Hm, I think, did I get a sunburn?

in the matter of minutes my lips and tongue were swelling up, so I figured out that it must be an allergic reaction. By the time we got home I was covered in rash and feeling faint. So in short - no slight rash or runny nose for my allergies, I went straight to anaphylactic shock, passed out on the way to A&E.

But home now and everything is fine, except that the doc thought I probably should not breastfeed for 3 days. Will call my doc in the morning, but that would be a pain, I don't have enough pumped. I guess adding some formula is not really the end of the world..

OP posts:
janey1234 · 13/08/2013 01:29

Oh my god hazle, poor you! That sounds bloody terrifying. You feeling ok now? Do you know what it was you're allergic to?

I think formula will be fine. Miles has had it about four times (first time given by the hospital when he was in intensive care) and I've deliberately given it to him very occasionally, just to try and keep my options open...

MotherOfCleo · 13/08/2013 07:07

geez hazel how terrifying!! Glad you're ok!!!

Cavort · 13/08/2013 09:08

Hazle that's terrible, how scary. What did the hospital think caused it, presumably not the shrimp if you eat them quite often? I hope you're feeling much better now.

And what a pain about the BFing, but yeah, mix feeding shouldn't be too hard for a few days but no doubt your boobs will be on fire even with pumping.

Elodie has become much more aware of her surroundings, which is lovely as seeing a bit of developmental progress is great, but she now needs constant entertainment during her waking hours which can be quite hard work. I put her on the baby gym so she can gaze at the hanging toys but she gets bored of that so then I have to carry her around the house so she can gaze at random objects or, even worse, I have to sing at her and pull funny faces. Apart from a few 5 minute cat naps she was awake yesterday from 1pm-midnight and entertaining her was a nightmare! Is anyone else finding this and have you found any genius ways of entertaining a baby?

Quodlibet · 13/08/2013 09:47

Oh Hazle how horrible. My grandad had something like that once with some shellfish I think, it was something he ate all the time and he was told it was more likely a pollutant that the shellfish were exposed to than the shellfish themselves. I guess it's quite hard to know and you don't want to take risks.

Cavort that sounds like hard work. I have heard some babies like watching the washing machine go round and round?!

Cavort · 13/08/2013 10:21

Ha Quod tat's a good idea... and it would be good motivation for me to actually be arsed to put some washing on. Grin

HazleNutt · 13/08/2013 10:49

they said it's most likely the shrimp and not uncommon to develop allergy to it when you are an adult and quite suddenly. It was really lucky we were at home and 10 min from the hospital when it happened, and not on some remote island.

They will of course do allergy tests, but I have to wait a few weeks after the reaction for that. Until them, will probably just eat toast or something, just in case, and carry the Epi-pen. And of course if it was shrimp, it's highly likely I'm also allergic to all other crustaceans like lobster and possibly also mussels and scallops. I love all that stuff Sad
Couldn't develop an allergy to something I rarely eat, no..

cavort we had the same a couple of days ago, Vic just would not sleep the whole day. It is exhausting to entertain them, but seems to have passed, was taking his normal naps the next day again.

OP posts:
janey1234 · 13/08/2013 13:40

Agreed re them needing more entertainment. I too have reluctantly been singing to Miles the poor sod and walking round the place to stop him being bored. Any other ideas welcomed!

Oh hazle poor you. I too would be gutted if I suddenly developed an allergy to seafood... Hmm
