Hello shiny new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 15:40

Cheek - that's disgraceful re the fine. Not only would I refuse to pay it, I'd also complain to PALS, the chief exec of the hospital and the labour ward head!!

esme80 · 26/07/2013 15:45

Mw phoned earlier and said sounds like a milk blister, told me to smear breast milk on it and air as much as possible, so sitting here with my norks out! Will see what mw says tomorrow.

wavesandsmiles · 26/07/2013 15:45

Congrats cantreach. How wonderful Smile

I think I've nearly made it to established labour and am having the weirdest feelings. My doula spoke to me on the phone and thinks it is an oxytocin rush. It's a strange, peculiar, but lovely feeling. Contractions are rising through the whole of me, right up to my neck which squeezes me completely.

Hopefully wont be too long for me now

esme80 · 26/07/2013 15:47

waves hope things really get going for you now, and good luck!

dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 16:12

Icing, photographer and Poco have all posted on Fb to say they have had their DDs. Also the poster with the huge family (sleep deprived brain can't remember mn name right now) posted to say she had her 7th Ds by csec yesterday.

dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 16:13

Xpost - best of luck Waves!

Sashabella0 · 26/07/2013 16:48

Starting to get jealous of these outies! My feet look like Yorkshire puddings and everything is such an effort. Going out tonight for our wedding anniversary so that might cheer me up.

40+2

pocopearl · 26/07/2013 17:19

Had my ds natrually in the end. Thankfully. 5pessary and waters broken had the drip for an hour but contractions were coming to quick. 2 failed epidurals so just had gas and air. 8lb 11oz I didn't get the water birth i wanted but at least I didn't have to get a section. Thanks eveyone for your kind words and support. Cant believe it took 8 days from induction to birth. Am absolutely shattered. X

SlouchingPanda · 26/07/2013 17:33

Cheek I am utterly outraged at your parking issue and hope you get it sorted. I second Dinky - write/contact all those she suggested (+ local paper?). I would also ask them to clarify in writing how on earth they expected you to return to pay given the circumstances.

It's iclaudius with her 7th son born by CS.

Congratulations to all newly-graduated outies! We seem to be having a sudden rush. Sashabella hope it's not too long for you. Booking a meal out for your wedding anniversary is is Totally's guide to bringing on labour, so look out! Feet-wise I'm day 5 postnatal and mine are still massive. DH suggests that they are worse than cankles as there is still no actual ankle and suggests 'fegs' is more appropriate. Disclaimer: I haven't stabbed him yet because he's bloody marvellous in all other ways.

I have been feeding constantly reminding me a bit of how foie gras is made but it paid off! Grin Junior Panda had a weigh in this morning... he put on >100g since yesterday so there is no worry about him. Probably just my milk late to come in after troublesome delivery and anaemia after big blood loss, they suspect. I am delighted. Milk is in with a vengeance now, and I appear to have engorged tear glands too as I sobbed on the MW, at DH, and in the supermarket because the nice man was so helpful and went to find me some more chopped tomatoes and carried them across the shop to my trolley...Blush

OP posts:
Thinkingofmyfabfour · 26/07/2013 17:46

slouching Grin hormones eh! That's great re weight gain, it makes it all seem worthwhile doesn't it! M was just 40g under birthweight yesterday (day 10) so I'm feeling pretty happy too

Congratulations to poco, photographer icing and iclaudius ! I look forward to hearing names etc, poco you did it! Well done, I hope you are managing to get some sleep now after your mammoth induction process

cheek am also Angry on your behalf, hope common sense can be applied here!

Oh I need to think of a present for my dsis dd. What's been everyone's favourite present so far? She has got loads of clothes and it's her second dc so won't need much in terms of baby stuff. Any ideas??

dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 17:50

Congrats Poco - hope you are home now and both you and ds get a well earned rest.
Sashabella - happy anniversary. Hope you have a lovely meal tonight.
Slouching - tears often accompany milk coming in, dont worry. I remember sobbing at dh about a lost sock the day after my milk came in with ds1. This time round I've been sobbing over the boys changing schools even though its a decision we made, rather than them. Thinking of having a badge made up saying its just the hormones!! Thanks for confirming iclaudiuss name - I was sat here with a total mental blank which is pretty unusual for me.

Persuasion · 26/07/2013 18:34

Congratulations to icing, phie, photographer, poco and iclaudius. it really has been a baby explosion! I hope you're next shelley - making nice plans is the way to cope with late pregnancy I think.

cheek that is awful, I'm glad there's someone on your side now. I don't have any more advice but hope you get it sorted.

Slouching I cried a lot in the days after my milk came in, often quite irrationally. It seems to have settled down now, I suddenly woke up feeling back to normal on about day 10. Good Junior has put weight on, one less thing to worry about.

F just vomited quite spectacularly all over me, I've had to bah her to get it out of her hair! She's doing well though, and had put weight on again. She does spectacular farts though. Is it just her, or do all babies do this??

SlouchingPanda · 26/07/2013 18:39

This dual life is v confusing! I still haven't worked out who some of the FB people are...

And glad to hear it's not just me with the hormones although sorry to hear you are still troubled re the schools decision. I know you thought long and hard about it, and am sure all will come good in the end. This parenting lark doesn't get any easier does it?!

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 18:47

All babies are little wind machines Persuasion - settles down as their digestive systems get better (eyes suspiciously farty DS2) ... well normally anyway...

Thinking - we got given letters spelling out J's name and a little toy of his own for J (as a third hand baby he will be making do with what we have left from this brothers) which I thought were v sweet. Some of those lovely huge Aden & Anais muslins would be a good gift in this heat too I think.

Have updated list below with sexes, dates etc from FB and here but no names (unless announced on here) as suspect the new outies will be on here to tell the good news themselves at some point. I'll leave the innies list as it is but suspect there are a few on there we wont hear from as havent heard from them in an awfully long time. Will edit them off when the last of our July innies still posting have popped.

dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 18:49

Slouching - I rather hope its just the hormones. And while there are good things about the boys former school there are quite a few bad things (like lunchtime bullying which ds1 was telling me about today) which I'm glad I'm not subjecting ds2 (whose a sensitive little soul) to - as I said, its just the hormones!

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/07/2013 19:07

Exciting, waves! Hope it's all going well. Good luck.

Congratulations, Icing, photographer, poco & iclaudius. Not surprised you're feeling a bit wiped out after that induction marathon, poco

Have a great night out, Sascha - I hope my theory holds true for you....

Persuasion - we had a very vomity morning. Luckily it's been a great day for doing laundry again...

Slouching - fegs Grin. Well done Junior Panda! Font worry about the random crying. I'm sure the MW is well used to it. Supermarket man probably just thinks you're a crazy lady with fegs Wink

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/07/2013 19:12

Thinking - a friend made us some bunting with DD1's name on it when she was born, which was lovely.
DD2 got her very own jelly kitten dog. Everything else can be hand-downs, but not your soft toy.

Persuasion · 26/07/2013 19:29

I didn't mean shelley I meant sasha. Is Just that was the moment I got covered in baby vomit!

waitingforwombat · 26/07/2013 21:11

Bit of a weepy evening here last night - hot, bothered, uncomfortable, insomniac feeling like I'm going to be pregnant forever. I know RATIONALLY that isn't true, and that I have an induction date booked for T+14 (Next Sunday) with my first sweep at the weekend - but it certainly felt that way in a very tired and hormonal moment at 1am! Didn't help that several of my friends have had babies in last few days and so facebook full of pictures - I felt like the only pregnant person left in the entire world!

Had a lovely pregnancy massage and some acupuncture this morning. Seems to have done absolutely nothing at all, but at least feels like I'm doing something, and certainly helped with relaxation and relieving some of the lower back pain.

Come on wombat, really ready for you now.....(T+5)

dinkystinky · 26/07/2013 21:27

Wombat - plan lots of lovely treats for yourself, enjoy lie ins, go to the cinema and chill. No one is pregnant forever and your baby will come when its ready. I know how you feel - ds1 was induced at 42 weeks when everyone else I knew had popped.

Abzs · 26/07/2013 21:48

Re presents one of my friends just brought me a v shape pillow and some tissue paper pompoms. The pillow is very comfy, and the pompoms look great hanging in J's room over where we change him.

DSil got me some of the Aden & Anais muslins, been using them as lightweight blankets on hot days as well as for mopping up.

Abzs · 27/07/2013 01:55

Wot no evening shift? Have all the insomniacs got newborns to snuggle to instead of posting now?

Aibu to think that if dh is not going to wake up and volunteer for nappy duty, the least he can do is not snore?

Persuasion · 27/07/2013 03:09

I'm here reading every few hours overnight while I feed, I just don't have enough hands or time to post. And definitely not unreasonable, I would give him a poke until he stops snoring!

TotallyEggFlipped · 27/07/2013 03:40

Abzs - YADNBU!

I think N just went 4 hours between night feeds Grin, but I may just be too tired to remember.

cheekbyjowl · 27/07/2013 04:09

it's eternally 4am. even my appetite has adjusted and thinks 2_4 is brunch time...j has gone back to sleep and I'm.thinking of pancakes....oh.and listening out for bats...just in case Wink
