House is a tip here too pseudo I would rather spend time having fun with the family :P

Where can i buy a nice dress its my cousins 21st at the end of the month and I really don't want to feel fat and frumpy

HotSoupDumpling · 12/07/2013 18:09

orangeblossom, I know you said this ages up thread, but that's a bloody good idea to roll up my Theraline into a circle and put my bump in it for back rubs. I've been kneeling forward in cushions (following directions from the What To Expect book) but your way seems much better!

What's the budget Falcon? And what styles do you like - Empire line or more tight bodycon-ish?

LostMySocks · 12/07/2013 18:28

If you just want pretty sundresses there is a sale at Jojo maman. I've just bought 2. Not to everyone's taste though

TheFalconsmistress · 12/07/2013 18:34

Prob more empire line hotsoup I have up to £100 I am a size 18 in dresses if that helps! I saw the wrap in jojo its definitely up for consideration. I now it sounds ridiculous but this section of my family see me as the poor, low class relative. I want to look fab so I have a bit of confidence!

HotSoupDumpling · 12/07/2013 18:51

I don't think that's ridiculous at all - feeling good about yourself is so important especially in pregnancy! she said, buying more and more maternity clothes

Isabella Oliver and Seraphine have dresses in your budget and size (although IO only have 'size 5', which is size 16-18). Asos have some more interesting and fashionable styles although they won't be the same quality.

E.g.
www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/uk/100/maternity-dresses/DR052.html
www.seraphine.com/front-knot-dress-short-sleeves-coral.html
www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/uk/100/maternity-dresses/DR172.html
a bit too casual maybe
if you don't mind wearing black to a wedding

Natalieand · 12/07/2013 19:14

Also these two falcon, not maternity but a maternity style - my bridesmaid dress isn't maternity but is a similar style to this and accommodates my bump and I'm bigger than u xx

royal blue

And I no someone who has actually got this themselves to wear to a wedding xx

TheFalconsmistress · 12/07/2013 19:34

I really like the seraphine one! coral is my favorite colour goes with my dark coloring (I think) Thanks for the help hot soup and nat and lostmysocks you are so helpful!! Its just a 21st birthday but I really want to feel good thank you so much!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/07/2013 19:54

Ooh busy day. We won't be using our names if the total baby gets one of our choices. Quite excited about the royal baby though, I bet kate middleton is so hot!!
I've been in the countryside all day with ds' godmummy having a picnic and good long chat, I boiled and melted even in the shade. Am now exhausted and treating myself to a glass of wine. Happy days!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 12/07/2013 19:55

Oh and meant to say I bought some jeans in jojo maman for only £10. They aren't amazing but they are good value for a tenner I think. They come up big though I ordered a 10 and they were huge and I would say I'm normally in between 8/10.

OrangeBlossom2 · 12/07/2013 20:00

Yes I wouldn't want the same name as the royal baby either. Charlotte is/was front runner for a while which we are thinking of (known as Lotte). It has probably put me off the pushchair colour I would have chosen knowing they have it just because I wouldn't want people to think I was copying (silly I know).

Glad to help with cushion hotsoup, I don't think it would work once I get much bigger but worked well for now. Going to try for another one tonight.

My feet and legs are swollen too, my leggings have dug lines up the sides of my calves. Nice. I also worried my wedding and engagement ring had got to tight this morning, but they loosened again after washing in cold water. I will keep an eye on my chubby fingers as may end up having to take rings off eventually Sad

OrangeBlossom2 · 12/07/2013 20:02

Also welcome Dolly and sorry you are having a down day(s) chickien. Biscuit

JellyCurls · 12/07/2013 20:03

Falcon I got a very pretty maxi dress from primark. It has a halter neck top and it ties round back just under boobs so is very flattering. Not maternity though but looks like it is

GTbaby · 12/07/2013 21:12

Confused My feet hurt. My legs ache. Feeling a bit poop actually.

But woop woop. The weekend is here. 8 days left at work Grin

Bk to a topic from last thread. Rox u were asking about changing nappies at night time.

My situation wasn't a choice but ended up beneficial to me. Mil hadn't cleared out the nursery so crib went in our room.
It was right next to me. I get a travel changing Mat wipes and nappies next to me. So I literally didn't leave bed to feed and change. Can't imagine leaving the room.
I changed ds1 nappy before every night feed. So he was wide awake and took a decent feed. Sry A bit gina ford. Lol.
But some ladies on my antenatal thread changed nappies more frequently at night... One lady changed before AND after a feed as lo wouldn't feed with a wet nappy. N then would always poo during a feed.

So really varies from baby to baby.

Really want a massage. But SPD means I can't lay on my side Hmm last time I was 8months and they did my massage while I was on my side. It was bliss. But now can only lay in my back. So wondering what they could do? Anyone have experience of this? Have been considering just a leg massage. But ideally want a full pampering day at the salon.

OrangeBlossom2 · 12/07/2013 21:15

OrangeBlossom2 · 12/07/2013 21:15

Agh what happened there!

Some places do on your front on cushions GT.

Natalieand · 12/07/2013 21:17

GT I did the same with dd I used to change her before a feed so she was wide awake enough,, funny isn't it they wake up screaming for a feed and few mins later there too asleep to drink it all little monkeys x

thethreeblondies · 12/07/2013 21:21

Right ladies I'm off to bed got the early shift for Next sale tomorrow 5am!! There's quite a bit going in neutral and coloured babygrows 3pks for about £8, fair amount of outfits too but might be a bit summery for our autumn babbas, older kids stuff there's a fair amount but nice weather has meant we have sold a lot in last few weeks. To be honest I think as usual all the decent stuff will get grabbed by the die hard sale customers queuing from 4am, people who come later in the day think we have rubbish stuff on sale but the shops are full first thing till they literally run down and get as much as they can carry! I've been doing this for 16yrs and I love first day of sale, love people watching! Grin

monkeytree · 12/07/2013 22:00

Hi
Can I join you ladies? Due October 25th, expecting a little girl. I have a dd who is nearly 7 and is very excited about having a sister!

OrangeBlossom2 · 12/07/2013 22:06

Welcome monkey! Smile

JellyCurls · 12/07/2013 22:19

Welcome new ladies to a very chatty bus.

Lets talk bumps and baby positions. My bump is very low and baby still all seems to below belly button. Carrying very low this time, is anyone else,

monkeytree · 12/07/2013 22:22

Thanks Orange Blossom. So nice to have somewhere to share the ups and downs of pregnancy especially as dd recently nicknamed me 'Moody Margaret' - a character out of her Horrid Henry book!!! They say children say it as it is but honestly, I hope that nickname doesn't stick with me!!! Hormones everywhere but at least I have learnt to laugh at myself over the past few weeks!

chickieno1 · 12/07/2013 22:48

Thanks everyone for kind words after my wobble! Feel bit better. Haven't been sleeping well which of course doesn't help. I will chat to dh about things too.

Falcon I thought asos weren't bad for dresses esp if for night out etc.

Yikes about plumbing issues shire. Hope you can have a nice time away despite the worry.

Clapham your ds must be so excited. It must be nice he's old enough to really be involved :)

Gt some places have holes in the beds for bump and boobs, some people find this comfy. Also you could go for preg reflexology which is really relaxing too?

chickieno1 · 12/07/2013 22:49

Welcome dolly and monkey!

pinkmoonlight · 12/07/2013 22:51

Welcome monkeytree- you are my due date buddy!

And yes to the leg cramps- my DH also panics when I shout out in pain, but then quickly laughs at me attempting to manoveure myself out of bed to deal with it!

chickieno1 · 12/07/2013 22:55

I ll try and remember stretch for leg cramps. Learnt a few at prenatal yoga when preg with ds. Magnesium also good and bananas although these not so good for constipation!

Plenty of fluids too esp as its so hot
