Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 08:28

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 08:30

sarahjayne so sorry to hear about your HG! That royally sucks! The mash sounds minging! Sad

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 08:38

Is anyone else peeing a tiny bit when sneezing? Blush Its not every time thank frick but it has happened several times now when I have least expected! Blush

extracrunchy · 05/07/2013 08:55

Tarka that's brilliant news!!

All those with good scans - how exciting! Are you all telling now and buying things? I'm still scared to..!

Home birth I quite like the idea of, but last birth (hospital) was very traumatic and lost a lot of blood (giant baby) and was a relief to leave all the trauma there and start lovely baby time at home, if you get what I mean. Think I'll do the same this time. May be completely different birth experience, but don't really want the same drama hanging around at home.

I had no idea there was a 16 week appointment..!! I'll be on holiday Confused

TarkaTheOtter · 05/07/2013 08:55

Yes sorry tooth I was just oveeshar

TarkaTheOtter · 05/07/2013 08:56

Doh

...oversharing to make those with spotting feel better.

extracrunchy · 05/07/2013 08:59

Anyone else ridiculously ditsy?! I used to be miss efficient at work, and last few days have made several mistakes and just totally forgotten to do things. Oops. Not doing us preggos' reputation any good..!

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 09:03

extra yy to the ditsy! Making stupid mistakes all over the place and also forgot to put the top back on my water bottle before putting it in my bag! Cue soggy bag contents! Confused

flowersfortea · 05/07/2013 09:16

Morning all.

So lovely hearing about your scans!

I'm12+5 now by my dates, had mw booking appointment on tuesday which went well. hopefully if all goes well I will be low risk and able to use the shiny new birth suite which is next door to the hospital.

Still waiting on a scan date though. Mw said to give it 2 weeks (!) And a number to call if I still haven't heard. Would really like to see baby asap to know it's doing ok! If all fails I'll get a private one but thought I'd try to wait in an exercise of anxiety self management....

Off to beg the gp for some anti emetics today as this week the fatigue and nausea have gone up a gear or three and have no idea how I'll cope with my night shifts starting tonight!

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 09:59

flowers really hope the gp gives u what u need! Another person waiting for a scan date past 12 weeks! It seems so weird! Hope it comes thru soon!

enormouse · 05/07/2013 11:20

Hi everyone, thanks for the lovely words of support and the advice. the spotting stopped completely last night so have decided to stay at home and take it easy. It is definitely easier and less stressful to relax at home then schlep out to Antrim. DP he taken some time off work to give me a hand. Am sitting on the sofa watching real housewives of Atlanta with an aero.

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 11:28

Thats great enormouse! Fab that u have some support and u get to watch the real housewives of atlanta! Grin I have never seen it before but weirdly when I just turned the tv on to wait for the dishwasher repair man it came straight on! It has only been on for 5 mins and its annoying me already! Nice green lycra outfit!!! You truly are the wind beneath my wings! Blerghhhh! Plus he took so long to say it, seriously! Just say it already! Can feel rage brewing! Angry Ok, time to flick to something else....Grin

MrsRApilot · 05/07/2013 11:34

Sultanajo your post made me laugh as I too am occasionally weeing a tiny bit when I sneeze. Oh how all dignity is forgotten!

To all the ladies still feeling really sick my heart goes out to you. I'm still boking up nearly everything I eat but there is little accompanying nausea which I am eternally grateful for. There's nothing worse than nauseous vomiting. I did mangae to keep a fillet steak down last night (first meal I've kept down in weeks) so I was thinking that maybe my body needed the iron from it.

Find it really odd that there are ladies still waiting for scans. It must be driving yous absolutely bonkers!! Show's how much maternity care varies across the UK. Even here in NI there are differneces - I had my '12 week' scan at 9+6 (by dates) yet my friend has only just had hers at 13 weeks.

Anyway - off to put a topside into the slow cooker for tonights dinner as I'm hoping if I stick with beef for dinner again I'll not be sick. Smile

enormouse · 05/07/2013 11:35

It's trash tv at its best. Smile.

I say DP is helping, him and DS are watching Dr who on his laptop with this face Shock. I feel my fingers are twitching to sort out the laundry and breakfast dishes.

Good luck with the scans and appointments today

enormouse · 05/07/2013 11:38

Ooh MrsRA where in NI are you? I'm just outside larne. bluecarrot who I haven't seen for a while is in carrick.

Had my twelve week scan at 10 weeks btw, but that was at the moyle

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 11:41

Glad its not just me mrsra! Throwing everything up is rubbish but glad you arent nauseous with it and thats positive about the fillet steak! Your bean clearly has good taste! Fingers crossed for your dinner tonight!

I have suddenly felt ridiculously hungry the last two days! Not just hungry....frickin starving and the nausea kicks in if I try to resist! Sad Must not eat lots of crap!!! Wink

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 11:43

enormouse! Stay away from the chores!!! You deserve a trash tv marathon! Just watching escape to the country, looking at all the lush houses we can never afford! Grin

MrsRApilot · 05/07/2013 12:07

enormouse I'm in Bangor so I'm having baby at the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald. I used to live just outside Antrim and had DD in Antrim Area. Didn't realise there was a couple of people from here Smile

sultana I have also gotten extremely hungry the past week (baby must be having a growth spurt) and I get excited and eat loads of chocolate/sweets/everything in the cupboard and then my body goes 'haha just kidding' and I'm sick. If I didn't laugh I'd cry. Hopefully your nausea will pass soon. I'll keep my FX for you.

enjoyingscience · 05/07/2013 12:12

mouse well done on feet up and aero, no need to do any housework.

Sorry for people still puking :( I'm still getting random waves of sickness, but my appetite is returning to something more normal now. I even stayed out until half past ten last night, which would have been impossible a fortnight ago, so something must be changing.

Working from home today, next to an open door onto the sunny patio. Much nicer than crappy dark work. Have spent an hour on the phone to a mortgage company though, so I need calming sunshine for my blood pressure!

Hope everyone's well. I might risk buying some maternity clothes at the weekend, if I can find any!

SarahJayne321 · 05/07/2013 12:23

Good luck for your scan today frying and I hope they do something to sort out the sickness :(

So shocked that people are still waiting for scan appointments it's ridiculous, I'd of had a meltdown by now. Mine was booked infront if be at booking appt, and my 20 week was booked straight after Tuesdays. I didn't think east lancs nhs would ever be so efficient :s

I've not been hungry, more bordem eating, but I have the thirst of a thousand camels!

Anyone started to show yet? Not sure if I've got a tiny bump, I'm fat, or I'm bloated!!

SarahJayne321 · 05/07/2013 12:27

And extra, massive yes to the ditzy!

Did a similar thing to sultana with the water bottle, except mine was summer fruits oasis and I didn't realise it had leaked as top wasn't in properly. Had to throw the bag as it absolutely STINKS now and I cannot face the smell to even attempt to wash! Blush

Sultanajo · 05/07/2013 12:49

What a cruel trick mrsra! Sad

Oh no sarahj Oasis! I was lucky it was water and even luckier my phone wasnt in my bag at the time!

Wish the dishwasher guy would hurry the frick up. Arriving any time between midday and 5pm. What a waste of an afternoon and I just know if I start cooking lunch he will arrive and mess everything up! Grumble grumble! Grin

TobyLerone · 05/07/2013 12:55

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish, MrsR :( yay for steak, though!

Great news, enormouse. Keep your feet up.

How annoying that some of you are still waiting for scans Angry

SarahJayne, I'm definitely showing, but it's not surprising considering that there are 3 fibroids, 2 of which are the size of tennis balls, in the same area as the poor squashed baby!

So I've spent another 3 hours in the hospital this morning for DD to have an MRI on her arm -- nothing broken so she can stop laying it on so thick now!
