Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Glad the spotting and cramps have stopped for now frizz. Its great you have such a supportive boss! I am with you with the not feeling better, but what I am finding is I am having more of a variety with some days feeling almost normal between the rough days and I can also now stomach a wider range of foods which is awesome! So things are improving finally, even if the nausea/vomming/tiredness hasnt yet completely gone away.

I was told by the temporary midwife that my actual midwife should listen to the heartbeat at my 16 week appointment. I hope she does as that is the reason DH is coming with me. I tried to tell him the rest of the session will probably be boring for him, but he is off on his summer hols so said he wanted to come.....Blush

fryingpantoface · 03/07/2013 21:18

Toby i'm so relieved!

chocoloulou33 · 03/07/2013 21:57

Glad scan went ok toby but sorry about the crappy day uve had.
Just watched beaches. What a silly idea. Am now an emotional mess! X

TobyLerone · 03/07/2013 22:33

Thanks, all. I'm sorry again for worrying you! DD's fine thanks. She has to have an MRI on Friday just to double check, but they don't think she's broken anything.

I'm so glad you're feeling better today, frizz :)

Sorry for all the vommers :(

Sultanajo · 03/07/2013 22:42

choco! Beaches! What were u thinking! That was ALWAYS gonna end in a mess! Grin

Poor DH has had a really rough day, so was trying to console him and cheer him up while trying not to vom on him! Now desperately wanting to sleep to get rid of the vommy feeling but am wide a frickin wake with heartburn from hell! Grrrr! Angry

BabyshamBambi456 · 04/07/2013 09:09

Hi everyone.
I had my dating scan yesterday. I went well in the sense that the baby was moving about and all limbs/ eyes etc present and correct but, my NT is 3.2mm and anything above 3mm is considered abnormal. I'm a totally worrier at the best of times and am now really anxious waiting for the results of my blood test. Sad

Frogcatcher · 04/07/2013 09:20

Congrats toby on your scan but sorry you had such an awful day.

Hugs babycham pls try not to worry too much tho it is easier said than done.

Hospital eventually phoned me at 4pm yesterday & I'm booked in for 8.30 next weds. I'll be 13+2 then though my private scan dated me 4 days ahead (which is wrong as i know exactly when I ovulated) so they could end up dating me as 13+6 so they're cutting it fine for the NT. Of course I've had a text from job centre (as I'm now unemployed since redundancy) asking me to go there weds too - know which one I'm switching!

Is everyone having 16 wk midwife appts? I'm sure mine said my next one was 18 wks. About par for the course if so!

In good news DP has agreed to home birth if that is what I really want & midwife is supportive. I think he thinks that someone will talk me out of it or tell me it's not possible before it comes to it.

TobyLerone · 04/07/2013 09:37

Babysham, I'm with you on the worrying. My NT measurement was 1.7mm, but I've just spent an hour driving myself insane googling NT measurements and the problems associated with large fibroids during pregnancy. I have to keep reminding myself that there's nothing I can influence now, and I just have to wait and see what happens.

Glad you've finally got your scan date, Frog :) And YAY for potential HB!

Naturegirl82 · 04/07/2013 09:40

babysham hope everything is ok. My dsis had a similar thing and my nephew was fine so fx the same is true for you.

frog yay for finally getting a scan date. fx your dh is proved wrong and hb is possible for you. My Dh ruled hb out straight away with out any hesitation!

So I've been feeling quite good this week but last night felt really uncomfortable from lower abdominal pain. It felt more burning than stretching but apparently that is still normal. All seems ok today though. Just counting down the time till scan on Monday.

enjoyingscience · 04/07/2013 09:48

Hurrah for others with nice scans, sorry yours took such a long time toby, and for all the A&E crapness afterwards. Hope DD is on the mend.

I messed up me bloods y'day - tried to be organised and did my routine preg bloods before the scan, then after the scan was told I'd need more done for the down's test. D'oh! So I have holes in both arms. Never mind.

Frog glad your DH is being supportive, mine is a little bit freaked out by a home birth, but I'm pretty firm that it's what I want and he's happy to go with that! Obviously, if I need to transfer then fine, but I'd rather do as much at home as possible.

TobyLerone · 04/07/2013 10:03

Ha! I'd like to see my DH try to 'rule out' anything wrt me giving birth. He wouldn't dare :o

Frogcatcher · 04/07/2013 10:11

Well just mooted HB to my mum & of course she was dead against it at first. I've got my arguments down to a tee though so she was more convinced by the end. Probably helps that both mine & my brother were pretty textbook so she doesn't have any horror stories of why hospital is crucial.

Penny31 · 04/07/2013 10:13

Yey for all the good scans. babysham I can understand your concerns but if there are any problems with your results they will contact to you fairly soon. I'm sure everything will be ok. How far on are you?

Owwww I'm bursting out of my trousers today! I'm quite chuffed to be honest :) can't wait to have a proper bump! I bought a maternity tankini yesterday and think I will venture to the pool at the weekend.

All in all I'm feeling much better with much more energy, I guess everyone is right and you do start to feel better eventually :)

Those still vomming,I hope you are gradually feeling better, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

BabyshamBambi456 · 04/07/2013 10:38

Thanks all. Should get the results within a week but I hate not knowing. I'm about 13 plus 2. toby I've spent a huge chunk of time on google today too, it's not our friend! At least I've got the afternoon off work; getting abit of hassle there too from my boss. Not pg rated although she has now asked me to move furniture for the 3rd time since I told her! Anyway, I'm owed a lot of time so working part time for next few weeks then on leave for a fortnight Smile

TobyLerone · 04/07/2013 10:51

Ugh. Twatbosses are the worst.

Naturegirl82 · 04/07/2013 10:53

Well I've just spoken to my assigned midwife from the one-2-one service and she is lovely. Completely understood where I was coming from not knowing who I'm meant to contact if I have a problem or concern. The service is so flexible, I can have all my appointments at home in the evening which is better for mine and dh work. They also run a hypnobirthing class which is an added bonus. Feel so much happier. Still going to have my 12 week scan on Monday at the hospital and then switch over fully after that. Thanks pod for posting the link Smile

Toby I think if I'd have wanted a hb Dh wouldn't have stood a chance not that I have him wrapped around my finger or anything but the though of all the mess just doesn't appeal to me. Maybe I'll change my mind later on. I'm aiming (probably naively) for a drug free delivery but who knows how we will react when the time comes! Smile

enormouse · 04/07/2013 11:34

Hey all
Toby came on last night and meant to write you a message but I went to watch the apprentice and fell asleep after. (Sorry!) Blush sounds like you had an awful day. Hope today is better for you.
babysham I know it's hard but step away from Google and try to take it easy.

I've had some spotting and its made me a bit panicky so I've made an appointment for the local antenatal clinic (thankfully on every Thursday) to get it checked. I'm quite upset so I've called my DP and DS back home home from his parents. I'm 11+2 today, is spotting normal for this stage?

enormouse · 04/07/2013 11:35

nature that sounds like a great service. You're very lucky.

Naturegirl82 · 04/07/2013 12:09

I feel lucky enormouse and much more relaxed about everything now. Glad you've managed to get an appointment to get checked out, hopefully it will put your mind at ease.

eccentrica · 04/07/2013 12:16

Hi all

Haven't been on for ages so thought I'd say hello Smile

I am 14 weeks today, had dating scan a few weeks ago and they kept my date the same. I opted out of the Down's screening.

Toby first time home births always seem to end up with being rushed to my hospital, at least among my friends and family! Have you considered a birth centre? I Had my daughter in a MW led birth centre attached to a hospital, so no doctors or drugs, not at all 'hospital-like', but they were there if anything went wrong.

It was so fast that it was nearly a home birth though!

eccentrica · 04/07/2013 12:17

sorry, that should read "being rushed to hospital", not sure how "my" got in there!

SarahJayne321 · 04/07/2013 12:44

Hi ladies!

Been Mia for a while, ended up in hospital with dehydration, due to HG, lucky me!

Hope everyone is well and massive congrats to everyone with happy scan news, and im so sorry and sending massive hugs to those who have had bad news xx

Had my scan on Tues and all was well, they've pushed my dates forwards so I am now 13+3, due date now 6th Jan.

With regards to birth I'm in 2 minds where I want to be. My local hospital has just opened a brand new birthing centre which seems fab, however there are absolutely no emergancy facilities, and no maternity unit at the hospital, so in the event that something went wrong I'd have to be carted off by ambulance to the second nearest which is about half an hour away. Midwife has recommended the birth centre, however I think I'd feel a lot more at ease knowing that if there was any issues, if I was at the other hospital an emergancy could be dealt with a lot sooner!

Pod or nature what was the one to one midwife link again? Is it just a pilot in a specific area?

Naturegirl82 · 04/07/2013 12:57

Hi Sarah the link is www.onetoonemidwives.org/ I'm not sure about other areas as I'm on the wirral but pod isn't and they are just setting up in her area I think.

LittlePeaPod · 04/07/2013 13:03

Just a quick one. Not had a chance to catch up. Hope you are all well.

SarahJayne sorry about HG. I know how you feel and been on a drip in hospital is totally shit! With regards 1-2-1 MWs. It's a trail but I am in West Yorksire and I got in. My advice. Submit the form and the will contact you and let you know if you are in.

Nature great to hear you thought them good too.

Got to shoot.....

SarahJayne321 · 04/07/2013 13:09

Thanks both of you I'll give it a go :)

The drip didn't bother me, it was the bloody out of a packet mash they tried getting me to eat, as if i didn't want to vom already!
