I've been having headaches too, sultana. Every day this week. Aren't they a pisser? Paracetamol doesn't touch them either.

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 09:26

Toby just read some of the things thee Bounty Reps have been up to. Angry. I will not be responsible for what I say if one of them shakes me awake or even more appalling picks up my baby who is a few hours old, out of the cot without even asking. I will go mental and give them probably the worst tongue lashing they have ever had. WTF are sales people doing on a ward so soon after your baby's born [confuse]. I am hoping to be back exercising soon too. FX eating keeps improving I hope I haven't jut jinxed myself

Nature I can't knit. Tried to learn once but I was embarrassingly useless. Grin know what you are saying about going crazy because of lack of exercise. I am starting to think it may really help with my pg sickness ah hopes May try swim some lengths whilst on holiday.

Blue have a lovely break.... Hope the spotting stops completely soon.

frog! omg yes - much more prone to pulling muscles at the mo! I pulled a muscle in my back the other day.....wait for it....stretching in bed!!!! Grin Also my right hip joint feels odd sometimes too, so I think it will be splashing about in the pool for me.

pod I have looked fat for the last 8 weeks! Really depressing - just want a real bump now... Am not skinny but had a relatively flat stomach before preggers, but now the area above my belly button is really hard and sticks out more as the day progresses. My lower abdomen isnt much better, but dont think any of it is baby yet at 14 weeks, but I expect everything else is being shoved up out of the way to make room for the womb.... Am sure proper baby bumps will be here in the not too distant future!,Grin

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 09:32

Posted of soon.

Frog I am going back to Pilates and Yoga defo. Will start swimming as need to improve or when I get. big for other things. Just worried may on on machine or in the pool... Hmm. Golfing with a massive bump, that would be amusing to see Grin

Sultanajo I have been getting headaches too. On and off though I put it down to not taking enough liquids in.. Hope you get shot soon.

Sultanajo · 29/06/2013 09:33

Toby pisser would be an understatement. Am allergic to paracetamol so cant take anything. I eyed up the nurofen longingly last night....Wink

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 09:34

Sultanajo you discrib I look perfectly.. I am getting a bear belly not a pg bump.. Sad

OP posts:
Sultanajo · 29/06/2013 09:34

pod am sure it was lack of fluids yesterday. It was one of those crazy work days where you dobnt have time to do take a piss, let alone drink! Lesson learnt!!! Must prioritise fluids!!! Grin

Sultanajo · 29/06/2013 09:35

pod thats exactly it! Never looked like this in my life! Cant suck it in or anything!

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 09:39

sultanajo I know those days when you don't even have time to eat, drink..... Nightmare!! With regards belly that's it, now imagine wold in about in a bikini I keep wanting to shout, I AM PREGNANT IF ANYONE IS WONDERING!!! Lol

And toby that owl blanket is to die for! WANT!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/06/2013 10:57

Mac that's a horrid thing to say - hasn't she heard it's 2013? Silly bloody woman. Mine set up our scan on a date to suit us, as we were off on holiday - she could have been forgiven for thinking we were spoilt/entitled so-and-sos, but she was lovely. It's so frustrating that your MW's attitude can be so vile - surely they ought to be taught to be empathic? At least not rude Hmm.

Hormonal flash mob - yes. All of us, ragey-faced, needing a wee, vomming on them at will. They'll learn soon enough, not to mess with us Grin.

Re bumps - skinny ladies - I am naturally well upholstered nothing to do with sweet tooth oh noooo so I think i can see the difference, as can DH, but no one else can, I don't think.

Re bounty reps, they sound awful, but sales people have so much pressure, it's the fault of the (private-equity backed, according to DH...) company who send them in, not their fault. I shall send them away, for sure, but I'd rather write to Bounty and complain than have a go at a hapless sales rep trying to make a living. I get that you are vulnerable (and this is my first, so I probably am talking out of my bum), but if you can tell a person in a shop that you don't want to buy something, you can tell a rep on a ward. I sort of think it's part of the 'pregnant women ought to live in a bubble, and no one should be mean to them/make them do anything' attitude, which I don't think is realistic. It's up there with mac being told to change her career to suit the hospital's schedule... Anyway, I'll shut up, as I'll probably feel differently when it's my turn!

Having a shitty day, as my grandfather, whom I loathe for many reasons, is in hospital, and probably won't come out. I want to be there for my Mum, but I won't see him, and she doesn't want me to come to the hospital, as she thinks it's 'full of germs'! I'm going shopping to take my mind off it, I think.

MrsGSR · 29/06/2013 11:06

This will be a mammoth post as I try to catch up!

Bunt I'd like to join the fb group after I've told all my family (as I'm completely paranoid!)

Pod I hope your enjoying your holiday :) I've been doing 20 minutes on the exercise bike whenever I feel like it (not very often!) and trying to walk everywhere. After 14 weeks I plan to go back to the gym and do some light exercise, get back into swimming and possibly buy a pregnancy yoga video. I have found the days I've been for a walk in the morning I tend to feel better in the afternoons, it's just finding the energy in the first place!

Mac 'Career women'? What a bitch! Excuse you for trying to make sure your child has somewhere to live! Some of these women need a serious attitude check!

I've just got back into knitting! I made some baby booties back in March when we were just trying, and then left all my knitting stuff at my dads! So now I'm staying at his again for a while (as it's dads birthday and DH is away on a course) I'm getting back into it, attempting a teddy bear and a cardigan from KnittingPatternCentral
I'd love to be able to crochet, when I've got some spare time next week I might try and teach myself with youtube videos!

Blue enjoy your time away :)

Humpty :( I hope shopping helps!

Talking about bumps, my lower stomach has gone slightly hard, and this morning (lying in bed with a full bladder trying to find the energy to get up!) I noticed that when lying on my back the right side of my abdomen was a little bit higher (I sent a picture to DH so he could confirm it!) which is where baby was at the scans. After going to the loo my stomach was back to being the same level.

TobyLerone · 29/06/2013 11:12

That's the point of the campaign, humpty -- to tell the company that what they're doing is unacceptable so that we don't have to tell the reps to bugger off. Hopefully it'll work. You have to have a pretty thick skin to work in sales, anyway.

extracrunchy · 29/06/2013 11:15

Ooh I knitted lots for DS! Was v relaxing. He has a lovely blanket he still uses. DH made me feel bad about the cardies etc though - said it looked like we could only afford homemade clothes Hmm I have much less time this time round though so don't know how much I'll get round to. I am cross stitching an alphabet with animals for the "nursery" though!

Headaches - I had shocking headaches from about 12 weeks on that just didn't go away, but seem to be a bit better now (14 weeks today!) so maybe it's a rush of hormones when placenta takes over that then stabilises... More fluids can't help though.

You guys are so organised booking classes already! We were too late for NCT antenatal last time (did postnatal) so will get in quicker this time. Apparently they do a refresher for second time parents, which sounds good as DS might meet some new little mates too.

Know what you lot mean about unsightly beer belly effect. Can't wait for proper bump! We're going on holiday in 2 weeks time. Not sure I'll be convincingly pregnant looking by then... Humph.

Have a lovely Saturday all!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/06/2013 11:18

Toby that's good then, I think it's the only way to combat it. I might join in then!

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 11:43

Are Bounty (Pricate Equity) PE owned! I work with PE companies on the mergers & acquisition side. PEs are about stripping cost out of businesses, bringing them into profit before flogging them off to the highest bidder. Be it another PE or a trade sale. They normally stick around for 3 to 5 years max before they exist a deal. A PE company won't give to flying hoot about a mutiny. Are they also focusing on the hospitals/NHS? Stopping the access is probably easier. Still anyone walks in and picks my baby up without permission will be told were to go... Grin

Humpty naturally well upholstered I am loving that phrase.... Smile

MrsGSR. That's exactly what I hope will happen. I hope to I crease my energy levels with a bit of exercise... FX

TobyLerone · 29/06/2013 11:50

Bounty have been around for donkey's years, though Confused

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/06/2013 11:51

pod yep, DH is sure they are PE owned, and you're exactly right about the lack of interest in anything other than £££. That's the problem - it's a good idea to campaign, but unless you take £££ off them, they won't care!
Hospitals get money from Bounty to let the reps in, don't they? Can't see them changing their practices...

Naturally well-upholstered (size 16) is the only way i can say it that isn't cringy/vom-inducing. I loathe 'big', 'curvy', 'plus size', etc, they're so coy. I'd rather just say 'fat', but it's a loaded word these days... Plus, I'm not ginormous, just, y'know, generous. I'm also 5'10", so will never be size 8 (short of a bad bout of dysentery). I like to think of it as my natural insulation - pre-pregnancy I was ALWAYS cold. Even in summer Grin.

I'm about to sign up for a swimming pass at the YMCA with a friend, so I can do a bit more exercise - wasn't that active pre BFP, and would like to be more so. I absolutely detest running (it just hurts) and won't bother with a gym (too lazy/procrastinating), so swimming it is.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/06/2013 11:52

Oh, and thank you MrsG - it'll take my mind off it, at least. And I do need some new pants Grin.

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 12:03

Toby. That's normally the case. So the PE will never change the trading name or brand of the company. You could even have more than one PE investor with a managing agent in the middle. Only way of knowing for sure who ultimate owners are is through their shareholding structure.

Humpty taking the cash out is the only way but I bet the hospitals/NHS will be getting a financial kick back that's too god or them to walk away. And if they did and it had a massive impact on the bottom line (profits) the PE would just wind the company up and make everyone redundant. It will take some serious pressure to stop access if that's they case particularly taking into account the recent and ongoing financial situation the country's in. The hospitals and NHS needs very penny they can get and the PE company will know this..

Caved and booked a private scan next Sunday (11w) as have hen do at 12w in Amsterdam and don't have nhs scan until the day after I'm back (12+3). Already had 2 epu scans (last at 8+3) but still can't stop worrying! New clinic which opens today so hoping equipment will be good. £80 for central London isn't bad at all

TobyLerone · 29/06/2013 12:12

Well upholstered :o DH would describe me as "squishy with massive boobs and a fat ass". He loves it! And that's a pretty accurate description. I'm a 12/14, but I'm only 5'3", so I can't really carry off extra very well.

Hospitals do get money from Bounty. I'm not sure where exactly the money goes, but it's unlikely to be towards frontline services. The campaign may not hurt them as such, but if it empowers more people to tell the salespeople to leave them alone, eventually it'll reflect in £££ for Bounty. I think that raising awareness and letting people know that it's ok to tell them to leave you alone is useful in itself.
