Welcome Alien!

I'm 10+4 today, just over a week until the scan. I really want to go and see Bug 2 today just to know everything is ok. I'm holding onto the fact we saw the heartbeat at 7+5 so everything will be ok

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/06/2013 11:16

Morning ladies,

altered (it was you, wasn't it?) I'd second toby's suggestion of being vague about EDD. Unless you are in the minority, you won't give birth on your EDD anyway.

I am off sick today, woke up with a chronic headache, felt dizzy and woolly and awful. Hope it's just from hayfever and a stuffy night.
Nausea pretty much gone (she says, from bed...) but still small appetite and tiredness, so I think at 11+5 I am starting to see the end in sight. Phew.

MrsAVB · 26/06/2013 11:24

Hotmilk bras etc are on 70% off on casabu til 8am tomorrow. www.casabu.com/hotmilk.html

Penny31 · 26/06/2013 11:28

Good luck to those with scans today!

I feel dreadful today. Can't keep my eyes open and I'm so tired I can barely speak! Sat here staring at my computer trying to look busy. Want to be at home on sofa watching Wimbledon :(

TobyLerone · 26/06/2013 11:32

Dammit. I've just bought a bra and a dress thanks to you, MrsA!

I am so suggestible.

MrsAVB · 26/06/2013 11:39

Haha Grin. Did you buy the black dress toby? I was looking at that...
now... What else can I make toby do...? [evil genius face]

TobyLerone · 26/06/2013 11:49

Yes :o

Percypiglet · 26/06/2013 11:53

Pidgy and Tooth I think I might live near you both as well!!?

Have a good day all. DH and I are off work this week, so chilling out. Tonight we plan to tell DS and BIL who just lost their baby, not looking forward to it but we don't want them to feel excluded from the news either. Very difficult. Good luck altered with the same difficulties.

MrsVDB · 26/06/2013 12:25

Ooh I'm tempted by that dress toby

TobyLerone · 26/06/2013 12:32

I'm so bored of nothing fitting me. I'm certain that will fit and be comfortable!

keskiviikko · 26/06/2013 12:49

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow. Hopefully then I will start to feel pregnant! I've had a bit of nausea and the bladder control of a small child but that is it. No weight gain, no mumsy feelings, tho I did buy some cute t-shirts at the festival I was at at the weekend. If it wasn't for the 2 positive tests I would think I'd just sailed throught the peri menopause! Reading the stuff that most of you are going through I guess i should just count myself lucky!Wink

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/06/2013 12:55

MrsAVB thank you for spending my money too. I now have a new white maternity bra.

TobyLerone · 26/06/2013 12:59

Good luck tomorrow, keski! I have mine tomorrow, too.

keskiviikko · 26/06/2013 13:03

Good luck to you too Toby This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to expect and have never been the maternal type, so this is going to be an experience!

TobyLerone · 26/06/2013 13:10

Expect to really need a wee by the time it's finished!

keskiviikko · 26/06/2013 13:17

Oh that should be fun! I have the bladder control of a small child at the moment. I need a wee at the drop of a hat and start hopping around like a loon Grin

MrsVDB · 26/06/2013 13:18

Dress bought, lets hope it's nice :)

MrsAVB · 26/06/2013 13:35

Aaaaah... I should be getting commission, damnit! Smile

Apparentlychilled · 26/06/2013 13:37

Hello all, and thank you to Humpty- the morning sickness has indeed returned with a (reassuring) bang! Also had my booking in appointment today, which was good. Got lots of reassurance re PND support (i've had it both times) and not worrying about ms going (apparently it peaks around 8-10 weeks, and I'm 9 + 5 today. And also, though my SIL only found out at her 12 week scan that she'd had a miscarriage, apparently this is very unusual, so I'm going to try not to worry, in the absence of pain and/or bleeding.

Sorry- I've not caught up with the whole thread, but hello to everyone!

LittlePeaPod · 26/06/2013 14:13

MrsAVB Our annual leave runs Jan to Dec. Our Mat Policy allows for annual leave to be accrued in full (as per any other employee). However our Mat Policy states that annual leave must be taken prior to Mat leave starting. However, our policy is flexible so in addition to enhance Mat leave benefits, each division can authorise annual leave to be taken after Mat leave. Do you have a copy of your companies Mat Policy? It should hopefully be in there.

Frog and Tooth congratulations on the scan..

Sultanajo thanks of the information on the 1.6mm scan results. Also sorry to hear about your Burger King experience.. Ohhhhh that must just have been awful. Sad

Alien congratulations and good luck for the scan tomorrow. Flowers

Altered Not sure if you have spoken to your SIL yet. My SIL and I were both due a few days apart (this Oct) before I had a mc earlier in the year. What really helped me was the fact she was so sensitive to my pain. However I really appreciated that she didn't go on about the pregnancy and she allowed me to raise it (which I did). Also she didn't get all giddy about it in front of me when others where around even when they instigated the giddiness. She didn't avoid me, when we spoke about her pregnancy she was open , honest and continued to talk to me about our loss. She just approached everything in a really sensitive way. Everyone is different but if I was in that position again I would really appreciate been told before lots of others found out. It may be good to speak to her about it in private so that it's not a shock when it's announced to everyone. That way there is no possibility she may feel that maybe it was been hidden from her whilst everyone else knew because of her lose. It's a hard situation you find yourself in and so much respect to you for been so considerate to her feelings. Good luck

Pidey We are definitely finding out. DF and I are way to impatient.. ha ha ha. So 20 weeks at latest or if we go ahead with Harmony on tomorrow then will find out in the next couple of weeks. The Harmony test can also tell you the sex of the baby at 12 weeks..

Good luck to anyone I missed due to have scans and tests etc. My thoughts with everyone worrying and still feeling sick

As for me, I managed to eat a BBQ chicken wrap and drunk a Lemon & Ginger drink at lunch without been sick today. she says keeping her fingers crossed it won't come up in a couple of hours For those that know, that is a real achievement for me. Grin DF and I are going on holiday on Friday so I am now counting down the hours. Really need a holiday and to sit / sleep in the sunshine and not worry about work , deadlines and bleeding projects?.

Hope you are all doing well ladies

apparently glad it's reassured you, but not that you're feeling sick again!
I just had a wee meltdown at DH. Made some lunch, which involved washing up first (my fault, i didn't do it last night when DH cooked dinner). By the time I'd done that, I felt too sick to make/eat anything myself. So so sick of being hungry yet nauseated by food/the thought of food. I confess I had a little cry.

We had a chat (sometimes I love him being on gardening leave!) and realised it's always carbs and fatty foods that provoke that reaction in me. Dh thinks this is a common aversion in pg ladies? I can usually always stomach grapes, melon, strawberries, iced water etc, just nothing 'heavy'. What do we think, ladies?

pod we're off on hollibobs next week, i cannot WAIT! South of France (not the posh side, the right hand side bit somewhere) for a week of novels and sunbathing. Not usually my thing, but I have saved about 10 Kindle daily deal books in anticipation of glorious idleness.

LittlePeaPod · 26/06/2013 14:56

Humpty so sorry you had a cry..Sad Pg sickness really is pants... BUT yeaaaa on your jollies... I am with you on the books.... I can't wait too!

OP posts:
HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/06/2013 15:27

Thanks pod I haven't even had it as bad as some (only vommed once) but it does get me down. Feeling better now though. Might even have some ham and coleslaw (who was obsessed with coleslaw in an earlier thread?)

LittlePeaPod · 26/06/2013 15:31

Humpty I know the days of my coleslaw obession and the days when I used to complain I had no ms and wished it on myself!!! If only I knew then what I know now..... ha ha ha ha Grin

Can't believe we're all heading towards our second trimesters already.

My nausea has suddenly gone. I'm 10+1. No nausea the day before yesterday, felt sick for a couple of hours yesterday and I'm feeling fine again today. Boobs are still sore and I'm very tired but the lack of nausea is nice. Although of course now I'm worrying about not feeling sick. I can't wait till the 12 week scan so I can see for myself that baby is fine. Just like it was at my 8 week scan. I'm sure I'll find something else to worry about after the scan anyway!
