omana so sorry to hear your news.

Thanks to everyone for their support regarding my symptoms...the funny thing is I started feeling nauseous again last night and its lasted all day. Relieved but feeling rubbish. Double edge sword!!!

LittlePeaPod · 21/06/2013 21:12

SarahL sorry to hear your update. Can you call EPU or your MW. I know scan was only other day but they may be able to provide some reassurance. I hope you are as well as can be under the circumstances...

sarahl fx it's nothing serious. Are you cramping? If not, it can be okay, even if v red blood, from what I've read.

sarahleanne · 21/06/2013 21:23

Thanks for all your support. No cramps today. Everytime I see blood it makes me worry then my dh has to rationalise the situation and remind me that we had all this last time. Still doesn't take the worry away 100% though.

LittlePeaPod · 21/06/2013 21:30

Its just awful to worry so much but totally understandable SarahL Keeping everything crossed that it stops quickly. Flowers

SarahL keep the faith

MrsVDB · 21/06/2013 22:14

curly that's what I thought which will be even worse if I'm just over! Will try and stand very tall when they measure me!!

BuntCadger · 22/06/2013 00:02

Percy - re your friend, I think you need to prepare yourself that she may wish to avoid you till she feels ready to be around baby related life again. It's so hard knowing how To broach and I think I'd perhaps say that you are unsure how to share your news but you value her so much you wanted to tell her yourself. My best friend lost her baby in pregnancy and was devastated and didn't want to be around me and my baby (who was older). Though we kept in contact is text/phone. T only became easier after shed had another baby.

Ona :( so sorry to read about your scan. I hope that the dates are just totally wrong for you xxx

Apparentlychilled · 22/06/2013 02:59

Anyone else suffering from insomnia? I've tossed and turned since DH came to bed about 11.30 and just got up for some cereal. Bit of a pain as I've to get up at 6am and have a long day ahead of me (travelling to a family funeral for distant relative).

LittlePeaPod · 22/06/2013 04:32

Percy sorry to hear about your friend. I can only speak from my experience. If it had been me post our lose then I would have appreciated my friends telling me in private before lots of others found out. Just to give me a chance to get my head round it. My SIL and I were due at the same time when I suffered our lose. She was really sensitive to my feelings and didn't go on about the baby in front of me even if people were around and asking. She always let me lead the conversation. She would talk about it if I asked but never got all excited (if that makes sense). Eventually I got stronger and talk to her about not feeling guilty that she was still pregnant but I wasn't. Bunt is also right there was a short period of time when I could nt see her as it was too painful. She was really understanding and I love her so much more for her kindness and thoughtfulness. Everyone is different but I would definetly speak to her in private, just the two of you. Good luck.

LittlePeaPod · 22/06/2013 04:35

Percy one more thing. I would o it sooner rather than later. You don't want her to feel like everyone knew except for her because of their lose. Good luck, its such a hard position you are in.

sarahL until you see for yourself at the scan all is well its so hard not to worry. As u say no cramps and you had this in previous pregnancies, fingers crossed all is well!

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 08:31

Ok, getting to 13 weeks and having a good scan yesterday u would think I would be more relaxed. Wrong! I have never got this far before so its brand new territory.

Since yesterday I have been having lower abdominal aches, like mild craps, on and off, which I have just about managed to convince myself is everything stretching as the uterus prepares to move higher up in the abdomen. Was quite proud of myself for calmly rationalising! Wink

However, this morning I am a bit panicky and potentially need a slap or someone with rational thinking!

When I got up to pee this moring (tmi alert) I did the usual knicker checking and along with my normal whitish discharge towards the front of my pants, there was a lot more just watery clear discharge further down. It hasnt completely soaked thru my pants, but its significantly more than normal. Of course because its watery I am freaking out that it could be amniotic fluid....

Ok, so I know discharge is meant to increase now, but thought it would be more of the same type I have been used to. It had a mild smell to it but cant tell if it could be a bit of pee that leaked out.

Am obviously going to monitor and see what happens today, but perhaps there is someone out there who can give me a bit of reassurance? Sad

TobyLerone · 22/06/2013 08:53

sultana, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. Yesterday I started again with the really mild cramping on and off. Exactly like really mild period pains. I also had a bit more discharge yesterday. I hope my humiliating myself by talking about discharge to strangers on the internet makes you feel better :o

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 09:00

Thanks toby! Grin All the pregnancy books are useless when it comes to this sort of thing. It says useless things like "by now you should hopefully start feeling better" and "nows the time to start trying to up your intake of healthy foods if you havent been able to face them til now" why thank you captain fecking obvious you patronising twot but what I need it to say is "you may notice an increase in discharge, which may be watery and you may freak out that its leaking amniotic fluid. But dont worry because its likely to either be an increase in normal discharge or you have just peed yourself a little!" Grin

TobyLerone · 22/06/2013 09:01

And this is why I don't read pregnancy books!

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 09:03

You are so wise toby! Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 22/06/2013 10:30

Morning ladies Grin

Off to a hen do today (last thing I feel like, but hum ho) - the bride and my close friends know so at least I don't have to fake drink etc.

Managed scrambled eggs for breakfast, which is definite progress. Normally toast is my limit and that is forced down.

Oh, and sultana I have LOADS of discharge too [proud emoticon] - I also smell different down there, not unpleasant, just different.
Also, talking about such stuff is, I believe the second stage on the road to total loss of all dignity. Stage one being discussion of cervical mucus when TTC. Next comes constipation/haemorrhoid chat Grin Something to look forward to!

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 10:41

humpty that absolutely cracked me up! Grin Dignity will be well and truly gone I am sure by the new year!

Good luck on your hen do! As u say, at least you dont have to fake drink! Hope it goes better than u expect. Great progress with your breakfast! Grin

MrsVDB · 22/06/2013 11:06

sultana when I was worried before about my discharge (yes tmi but think we may have to get used to it) I read watery discharge is very normal and can continue on through pregnancy. If you read many other threads they suggest panty liners so I wouldn't worry

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 11:20

Thanks mrsv - think it was just the shock this morning - wasnt expecting it!!! I google searched and came up with similar results to what you are saying, along with some that fuelled my panic! So far fingers crossed it has gone back to normal.....roll on mw appointment in 3 weeks! Smile

Frizz1986 · 22/06/2013 14:06

sultana i am not even 11 weeks yet and for the past week my discharge has gone crazy. I half think i might just be peeing myself but think its normal. Most things I have seen say that in pregnancy your body can go a bit crazy discharge wise, but as long as it doesn't smell and isn't a funny colour there probably isn't any need to worry.

Today I have ordered some trousers and jeans from next. My first maternity attire. Really wanted to try some stuff on as i am between 10-12 size wise but nowhere has anything. Have had to get dh to attempt to measure me with a tape measure and we will see what happens tomorrow when i pick them up. At least if they are wrong I can order the other size tomorrow night and get it del to store to pick up on monday.

I swear that before i was pg there were maternity lines everywhere to try on but now there is nothing. It almost feels as if shops don't want pregnant people to come in.

Sultanajo · 22/06/2013 14:18

Thanks Frizz! Feeling much better about things hearing all your experiences.

I too am between sizes and have ended up having to risk online because there is almost no where who stocks maternity wear any more! Its so weird! I dont understand why they would get rid of them in shops! I have just been lucky the jeans I bought fitted ok, but suspect am gonna struggle with tops when I need them! Good luck frizz hope your bits and bobs fit! Grin
