Poos - damn you auto correct!

VinegarDrinker · 04/06/2013 09:19

Awww congrats to ellie - I know she was wondering if he would come early, due to the polyhydramnios. Lots of strong breathing vibes for mini ellie and hope the cleft turns out to be at the less severe end of the spectrum.

I'm sitting at home with a cup of tea, having dropped DS at nursery. First work and toddler free day in goodness knows how long! I'll have 2 days a week to myself now until the baby shows up and it feels like a huge luxury! Trying to plan out all the things I've mentally planned to do "when on maternity leave" while trying to shake off the anxious feeling that I should be somewhere doing something! Definitely going to make time for some gardening sitting in the garden drinking iced lemonade today.

dinkystinky · 04/06/2013 09:29

That sounds like my kind of gardening Vinegar - enjoy!

mysterymeg · 04/06/2013 09:37

Still feeling crappy here. Baby has discovered my rib cage is fun to bounce off and the reflux is awful now. Does anyone have any tips re reflux??

IcingTheCake · 04/06/2013 09:53

Sorry you had such a crap nights sleep dinky!

MysteryMeg i woul suggest you he plenty of fluids in the day and restrict yourself to only tiny amounts of water or milk at night, take gaviscon, sleep with extra pillows so your head is definitely higher than tummy, dont eat late and try to have a bigger lunch/smaller dinner, when it feels like its getting bad, stand up and walk around, chewing gum can help as it gets your tummy going and digests whats in there

IcingTheCake · 04/06/2013 09:54

Gah on my phone so lots of spelling mistakes sorry!

photographerlady · 04/06/2013 10:27

Morning all.

Dinky Sleeping seems to come in waves. Last week couldn't sleep at all and this week (aside from the 2-3 bathroom trips) I'm knocked out. You well stocked in pillows?

Vinegar enjoy the quiet afternoon :)

Shelly sorry to hear about your fall hope you are feeling much better.

Paolo congrats!

Cheek congrats on the house

And I will join everyone whose feeling huge :(

SundaySunshine · 04/06/2013 11:15

Wow, more babies! Congratulations ellie

I sympathise with you Dinky I'm having a hard time sleeping too. Mainly down to DH snoring and DD refusing to sleep in her own bed, night time loo trips, reflux, achey hips, and a four day old headache. Feeling quite sorry for myself!

Shelly, oh dear, that sounds scary, hope your ok now.

Good news ginger glad your blood clot worries are over.

totally well done on your move, not sure I could have done that. I'm having trouble just getting stuff into and out of the loft .

Three days of work left, doesn't sound much but not sure I can manage even that, feeling really crap today Sad

Hope everyone else is ok.

I just realised today how good I've been feeling for the last few days. I feel like I have a bit more energy than I did before, even though I'm totally worn out by the evenings. I think it's due to the sunshine! I've really been able to enjoy being pregnant Smile It's a shame I'm in work now & can't enjoy it. I hope everyone on maternity leave is enjoying the sun!

MrsRoss26 · 04/06/2013 13:46

Paolo massive CONGRATULATIONS! Fantastic news about the two Ronettes, I hope MrsPaolo is recovering well and you both get to take your little bundles home soon for lots of cuddles.

Well done on the house move totally and great stuff on the lack of blood clot ginger. Here's hoping the little ones all stay in a wee bit longer, even though they seem to be slowing us all up!

I have 2 1/2 weeks left at work and leave can't come soon enough. Am totally knackered and unproductive, and trying desparately not to be! NCT classes start tonight and I'm hoping everyone is friendly, and doesn't put my DH off baby groups entirely. He's convinced they're all going to be boring baby-centric hippies!

Huge sympathy to everyone struggling with the waddling and sleep deprivation now (Dinky, Sunshine, Photographer). I'm increasingly immobile and probably not helping myself: nesting is really kicking in and led me to mow the lawn yesterday. Vinegar - make the most of sitting for now. That's what we're meant to do on leave!

IcingTheCake · 04/06/2013 13:48

SundaySunshine try to do as little as possible at work and maybe sit in the sun on your lunch break? I've been making sure i have at least an hour o just sitting outside with a cool drink because it really really helps!

Totally ahh bet you can't wait to get on mat leave! I've been sitting in the sun since lunch, its been bliss Smile

SundaySunshine · 04/06/2013 14:51

Thanks all, doing just that at mo. Had nice relaxing bath this morning and am now sitting in the dappled shade in garden with a large cool drink, 'tis bliss. I think a week of cold wet Kent and chasing an over excited three year old up, down, and around and around all the castles Kent has to offer ( there are loads of them!) really took it out of me. Yesterday I did a day of work experience in the career I hope to change to after maternity leave, so I had to be really focused but it was a tough battle against exhaustion. So the plan is not to do anything at all today apart from gaze at my amazingly unkempt jungle of a garden and wish that friends/family/wiling gardeners lived a bit closer to help out Smile

Oh and my lovely OH pointed out whilst I was in the bath that I have a collection of stretch marks hidden under my bump that I knew nothing about Sad

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/06/2013 16:51

Sunday - give your OH a kick from me. How very dare he point out stretch marks?!

I'm on call today, so won't be seeing any of the sunshine (well, I can look out the window, but it's not the same). Hoping it's still sunny when I'm off on Thursday & at the weekend.

Gingerpanther27 · 04/06/2013 19:02

My boobs just started leaking Shock

BadMissM · 04/06/2013 19:49

I am soooooooo tired. Had great plans, have so far managed to move one shelf of stuff in the bedroom after having to sit down 83 times.... need to move and put stuff away otherwise there is no room for the moses basket.... arrgh! With MIL dilemnas, wasted last week when I would have had DD at home to help, and when I still appeared to have some energy left. Hospital tomorrow (Diabetic clinic....). Need to do my roots so am not scraggy inch-long roots woman if I give birth too soon! All I've seemd to do today is fall over with exhaustion!

33+2 tday.....

Supershiv1 · 04/06/2013 20:06

Crikey. Is that 5 july babies already arrived now? Does anyone on a computer wantbtobstart a births thread or have we been updating the stats thread (I can't as on phone).
Congrats on the twins PAOLO. Flowers

Thinkingof4 · 04/06/2013 20:48

Congratulations to ellie hope wee one is doing ok in nnu

dinky nothing worse than not sleeping, I had a couple of weeks like that due to my cold but it's a bit better now and I'm sleeping again. Sending you sleepy vibes

sunday hang in there you will be finished before you know it

totally glad the move went well, hope the unpacking goes well

badmiss hope clinic is ok tomorrow, is there any decision re elcs yet?

vinegar hope you had a relaxing day. Like you this was my first child and work- free day for a long time so I took the chance to buy all the stuff I need for my hospital bag so I might just get it packed this week!

I wanted to buy a wee gender neutral outfit for the baby but couldn't find anything I liked, very little choice. Feels like I'm in the minority in not knowing in advance what we are having. If anyone has seen anything nice let me know!

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/06/2013 20:53

Thinking - boots had some nice stuff. I got a bright multi coloured striped grow from there. Some of the mothercare & next stuff is ok too. It's 'boys' stuff, but I think it would be great on a girl too. I like bright baby clothes. I think M&S do a cream/white range for those of us who don't find out in advance.

BadMissM · 04/06/2013 20:54

thinkingof4 Morrisons have a new baby range.... nice, bright, unisex colours, and good prices.

Still no decision on the ELCS and unlikely to have one for at least the next 2 weeks unfortunately....

MrsMillions · 04/06/2013 21:29

Congratulations to Paolo and Ellie. Hope Ellie and MrsPaolo make speedy recoveries from births, Ellie's little one is well looked after, and 2 Ronettes are doing well - good luck with your house full of women Paolo!

My bump has been very chilled in the sunshine today, just enough movement not to worry, but not as much as usual, until dinner time when the party started - maybe as it had cooled down a bit by then.

Managing not to kill the MIL (thankfully not as bad as MissM's, just woefully dull), she has bought the baby a money box today and put some pennies in - very nice of her but the design wasn't one that struck me as saying "buy me buy me", think she just wanted to buy something.

Sasha glad you made it to the festival and had a fab time.

VinegarDrinker · 04/06/2013 22:05

Thinking I did the same today - although mostly online through sheer laziness!

Have ordered this www.welovefrugi.com/baby/baby-girl/babygrows-bodies/rainbow-spot-babygrow/ for the baby - it's a bit pricey but I love Frugi stuff and it's likely to be the first and last new thing she gets, poor thing!

dinkystinky · 04/06/2013 22:13

Thinking I got a lovely bright aqua romper suit with a fox on it from zulilly for Bean (we don't know what we are having either) and some primary colour striped vests from m+s that are cute as well as the r2d2 vest from etsy. The baby will be in all ds1 and ds2s old stuff otherwise. Thanks for the sleepy vibes - could do with them!

Sunday - hope the next few days at work pass quickly for you.

Ginger - on the plus side, at least you know they are working :-)

MrsMillions - mil has, at last count, bought no fewer than 8 money boxes for the boys. Maybe its in the grandma to be handbook as some sort of rite of passage...

Badmissm - you're always so busy maybe today was just your body making you chill for abit, hope tomorrow is more energy filled and your trip to the clinic is uneventful.

Abzs · 04/06/2013 22:45

Busy day today. Scan first thing. Small is now right way down, but growth measurement today - by abdominal circumference - is nearer 38 than 35 weeks. At the clinic appt though I was passed back to mw led as everything else is normal again.

Went into town and did some shopping. Got one of those thin primark shirts, and a couple of maxi dresses for wafting about the garden in over the next month. Treated myself to lunch at the art gallery.

Class on recognizing labour and birth partners role this evening. Dh is offshore again so he'll have to read the handouts.

Was so tired I forked out for a taxi home and then put my feet to soak with half a nice lush bath bomb.

Abzs · 04/06/2013 23:10

Thinking - I got primary colour Bodysuits from tesco.

Gingerpanther27 · 04/06/2013 23:16

If boobs are leaking after going into labour -labour then stopping obviously - is it a possibility that it could start up again soon? Or is that just me been stuck in hospital too long therefore thinking up dafter stuff than usual? Haha thanks dinky 35+2 x
