SlouchingPanda · 24/06/2013 08:32

Morning Team! So much excitement on here - it must be the supermoon! Congratulations Schro and BB01 on your new arrivals, and extra special mention to OhGood who livened up the 4am club a treat... how are you getting on? Also good work to BadMissM for surviving the in laws.

Photographer I am bricking it about getting near the end. On the one hand, I'm getting a bit bored of being pregnant but the alternative is a little unthinkable: (1) actually having to push a baby out and (2) then having to look after it for evermore. I am 35 yet do not feel in any way old or responsible enough for this...! Three babies already from my NCT group which kind of brings home the ultimate aim of this pregnancy lark. I still can't imagine that the wriggling, squirming thing in there is actually a baby though ...

The most exciting action here in the Big Panda house is that we got a new fridge. Cheers to whoever suggested Appliances Online who were marvelously efficient and delivered the frigging thing at 0645!! And with that, I'm off back to bed!

37+4

photographerlady · 24/06/2013 08:44

SlouchingPanda you sum up my feeling exactly I mean its really not long now and July will be here in the blink of an eye. So far I've been so busy with preparing things but after Thursday this week my schedule is pretty open and it's just a waiting game.

ohGood I hope things are going well and progressing. I love the idea of you sorting out the tesco shop at 4 am :)

SundaySunshine · 24/06/2013 08:45

Wow it was all go in the 4am club last night, Good luck OhGod hope everything is progressing nicely for you. How funny that as the conversation turned to waters breaking we had a live action take place Smile

On the same topic I have those dry night bed pads on my bed and on my car seat (covered with a towel) just in case, as last time it was like a small tsunami.

Congrats BB, lovely name, hope little Rosie gets to go home soon x

Dinky naughty mummy made me laugh, what a sweetie your DS1 is Smile

Evelyn defo get as much sleep as you can now. My heartburn has got much better since taking Dinky's advice and not drinking during the night. I have a glass of water but I only sip enough to wet my mouth, not to actually swallow, and I've not had any since.

Ah, just managed to get a dr ap in 15 mins but still in bed! Must rush. Have good day all [smie]

MrsMillions · 24/06/2013 09:08

Ooh what an exciting night to catch up on! Sending good birth vibes to OhGood.

Congrats BB01, hope Rosie fights those bugs and gets stronger quickly. Paolo's girls have some team pink company at last!

MrsRoss26 · 24/06/2013 09:10

Ah! Good luck ohgood! What an exciting few posts this morning!

Well done to all those doing superbly on the nesting front! My next task is washing all of the nappies (several times over) and hoping for sunshine to hang them outside. Fun times Wink

On waters breaking...I think I'm living in denial that a baby will actually result from this mound Grin so have done nothing at all, other than stock up on mat pads and hope for them going when I'm not in bed!

Those of you struggling with night time pelvic issues (apologies, am on my phone and useless with names): have you felt your back clicking into place once upright? It's something I used to do pre-pg, but am feeling once more now when getting out of bed. A little discombobulating?

orangebubbles · 24/06/2013 09:12

Good luck ohgood, hope all progressing well

Cheeseandbread · 24/06/2013 09:40

How exciting- good luck OhGood

Congratulations to the other new arrivals and well done on surviving the in laws BadMiss

I think I need to get some bed liner pad things everyone us talking about...

Runs hope sports day goes well!

Off to midwife appointment later for 36 weeks. I'm going to ask if I can be tested for group b strep again as I'd really like to be on the midwife led unit if it's gone. I figure there is no harm in asking- they can say no...

Dinky the naughty mummy comment made me laugh too.

Persuasion · 24/06/2013 09:54

Good luck ohGood I hope you have a lovely little bundle ASAP!

Congrats bb01 on Rosie. I hope she's doing better today and it's a short scbu stay before you're home.

Nothing exciting happening here. I've had pains on and off every few days last week but none seem to have progressed beyond that, although chip does seem to have moved down more (I now literally seem to have to pee ever half hour if I'm standing or sitting up) so maybe they are doing something

Also have the midwife support worker doing a home visit today to chat about breastfeeding and sleeping arrangements. It was supposed to be at 36 weeks but they're a bit slow getting round to it!

38+5

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 10:25

Cheese - good idea to ask to be retested if poss as I understand strep b can come and go. Today's thrilling jobs are to go get as printer cartridge and a stapler for our home office station - my excitement knows no bounds!

Ds1s comment from when my waters broke (I'd just got up from the kitchen table to get a yogurt out the fridge for his pudding) is my favourite labour memory from ds2's birth along with staring into ds2's calm alert eyes in the pool after he was born.

Persuasion - hope the home visit goes well. Sounds like chip is moving into position.

shelley72 · 24/06/2013 11:33

i too was up at 230 this morning with pains which gave me a scare and did see ohgood's post but was determined to get back to sleep today so switched phone off. could have stayed on MN as only just managed to get back to sleep before DS decided he needed a wee at 4.45. so i am off for a little sleep in a minute. any updates yet from oh good? hope little Rosie is doing well today BB01

my friends sister had her little baby yesterday so must be something to do with the moon this weekend. if you believe in all that kind of stuff i have read that cancerians are particularly affected by the moon, especially those born in early cancer phase. i have to say (being married to one) that he is definitely affected read bloody grumpy at full moon. i'm bit worried about the prospect of having another in the house.... Smile

MW appointment was ok and BP a little more settled so thats good, just feel a bit in limbo now in waiting to sort out a CS. part of me wants to leave it as long as possible just in case but then am i just delaying the inevitible? glad everyone else is having a far more straight forward time of it, even if it does mean that some babies are making early appearances!

evelynj · 24/06/2013 11:42

Thanks dinky. No more baby clothes then-it's not like they'll be moving around & have them falling off them anyway!

My job for today before going for lunch is to go to the cheap card shop & buy a full years worth of birthday cards for the extended family-made a list of e.g. 4 x brother cards, 2 aunts, 2 grandmother etc. Am hoping it will be one less thing for when baby arrives longer term as dh is rubbish at that kind of admin.

Off to breastfeeding class at hospital tonight & taking daughter of a lady from mums & tots who I've not met before. Quite excited about talking to a RL person due around same time as me.

Thinking the only other thing I can do to cash in on the waiting period over next few weeks is Christmas shopping online as too lazy to do the bulk cooking & proper nesting that I should be doing!

Beginningofthejourney · 24/06/2013 12:08

I am supposed to be cleaning my flat so we can move back in as theo and I have been at my mums for the past week but I thought I'd have a quick look on here first :-)
Hope all going well ohgood and congratulations bb01
My waters started to go when I got out of the shower, thought I had wet myself! They then continued to leak over the next few hours! Not glamourous to say the least. Theo arrived just over four hours after the 1st 'leak' so didn't really have time to worry about anything, I am still waiting for the dr to come to examine me as mum rang the bell to get me some pain relief and I announced to the midwife I was pushing...I still had my pjs and knickers on! My little fatty was 6lbs 11! [Shock] Apart from the breathing issues I am glad he was 6 weeks early as he would have been huge.
Really should Hoover before theo wakes for more milk. Smile

MightBeMad · 24/06/2013 12:46

Good luck ohgood!!! And congrats on baby Rosie BB - I hope she's well and home soon.

Sympathies with the 4am club. I'm up every 1-2 hrs but wt least I'm generally ok at getting back to sleep.

Can't remember who asked about back/pelvis issues, but yes, when I roll onto may back in bed (going from one side to the other) it clicks and crunches alarmingly. Same when I sit up to get out of bed, though the worst pain is triggered by sitting up when my bladder is full - ouch!!

Nesting continues apace here. If it's not nailed down, it's going in the washing machine Grin

35+3

Thinkingof4 · 24/06/2013 13:47

ohgood exciting, I'm sure the lack of updates means things are happening so fx all goes well

bb01 hope Rosie is back with you v soon, and you get lots more cuddles today

Can't remember who asked but I'm getting the crunching in back at times too.
I have waterproof sheet (nice soft one not plasticky) plus be mat on my bed now as I don't want to wreck our lovely comfy mattress.
Planning to have quiet hour or so watching tennis before ds3 wakes up and school run etc. Luckily most of my tidying is done as I think the tennis may be too tempting for next couple of weeks. Watched really interesting programme about andy Murray last night, very emotional at times, esp when talking about Dunblane massacre. Can't imagine how that would affect you, but he's obviously a very strong guy to have come through all of that and become such a success

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 16:01

Hope you had a good nap Shelley and good luck with the flat cleaning Beginning! After having had my raspberry jelly commandeered by ds2 I am currently hiding out in my bedroom eating my frozen yogurt! Am impressed at the nestingfest Mightbemad - all I've managed to do today is sort out our home office area into some semblence of order - and direct some builders on jobs round the house.

evelynj · 24/06/2013 16:17

Well I'm home with my years supply of family birthday cards, (25 for under £17 at card land, whoop whoop!). Dh is coming home early to look after DS so I can get to hospital in time for feeding session, (this is super exciting as it means he'll get the first coat of new nice farrow & ball paint on over the previously chosen paint which was a loght lloking number from dulux but has turned out too blue in the new spare room!)

You nesters have shamed me into going to change the bedding & adding waterproof pad thing under my side so here goes another load of washing....

MrsMillions · 24/06/2013 16:33

Evelyn I need to change our bed today too but won't be adding waterproof layer as ended up meeting DH for lunch today rather than do the shopping I had planned (to include looking at waterproof mattress protectors). Love our mattress though so definitely need to sort that later this week.

Thinking - glad the Murray doc is good, it's sat on my Sky+ to be watched at some point when there isn't live action/a good 1980s replay. Although in these days of the centre court roof I don't suppose we'll get many replays.

'Tis strange, last time I got to enjoy so much of Wimbledon was 1997. I was post-GCSEs, not yet 16 so without a summer job, and listened to a lot on the radio whilst painting my bedroom. Half my lifetime ago, how different things are 16 years on!

Come in Andy!

shelley72 · 24/06/2013 16:52

oh my goodness mrsmillions you have just made me feel VERY old. that was the year i got married Shock.

am impressed with your organisation evelynj - though i did do the same yesterday but just for july (BF, DH, DB, DM). and i have picked up some other bits for christmas / school birthdays as i have seen them. obviously i will lose all of the above before said events, forgetting where i've stashed things!

have done absolutely no housework today and feel very lazy indeed. thanks for the muffin recipe dinky thats on my to make list for this week. will try DD with them too - am supposed to be introducing cakes made with milk / butter but i am a bit scared. last time i tried we didnt have very good results!

Silver15 · 24/06/2013 17:54

Just noticed some bleeding as I was leaving work. Was in pain this morning a combination of back pain and cx. Seemed alright during the day. I'm now in hospital waiting to be checked. No hosp bag packed as I'm only 35+2.

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 18:03

Hope you're OK Silver and it turns out to be a false alarm.

TotallyEggFlipped · 24/06/2013 18:16

Hope everything checks out ok, Silver.

Silver15 · 24/06/2013 18:18

Thanks Dinky. I hope it is a false alarm as I was supposed to handover at work on Thursday. Friday is last day so was planning to shop for my hospital bag at the weekend. I have bought all baby items though.

Feel a bit embarrassed though as I was due to attend to my lady garden over the weekend but was too busy so didn't. I suppose the MW have seen it all.

Silver15 · 24/06/2013 18:19

Thanks Totally. Cross posted.
