Trying to sleep, not contracting, but HAD to get up to change Tesco order (which is due tomorrow.)

OhGood · 24/06/2013 02:22

Bugger, it's too late. I ordered all this fancy tricky stuff to cook as trying to distract myself from being so pregnant.

We are out of milk.

Will make hot drink and try to sleep.

OhGood · 24/06/2013 02:27

Well, maybe I am contracting a little bit.

Also I meant we are out of milk and I forgot to add it to Tesco order.

Sorry about all this posting - can you tell I am the only person awake in my house???

Sashabella0 · 24/06/2013 03:39

I'm awake how's it going?

Runswithsquirrels · 24/06/2013 04:21

Hi Ohgood. How goes it?

Honestly we talk about waters going on this thread and then whoosh - off you go!

I put one of those Boots maternity mattress protectors under my sheet two nights ago. Great for the mattress but I'm sweating -ew!

Been awake since three and I mean - awake. Am continuing my run of negligible sleep. Sigh. Sports day at school should be fun - do they do a prize for teacher who can doze longest?

OhGood · 24/06/2013 04:29

Woken DH up and starting to make calls and stuff. Things seem to be progressing nicely - cx starting to make themselves felt and eevry 5 mins or so. Killer backache tho so I think he's back to back.

Hope you all get back to sleep...

Runswithsquirrels · 24/06/2013 04:31

Good luck! X

TotallyEggFlipped · 24/06/2013 04:34

Good luck, OhGood!

VinegarDrinker · 24/06/2013 04:35

Ooooh exciting stuff OhGood ! Good luck!

princessllama · 24/06/2013 04:39

Good luck oh good, hope you got your tesco order sorted...! I am impressed, it seems to be all going like clockwork so far ( fingers all crossed). I always wanted my waters to break in the middle of the might and then wake up dh by saying 'it's time' just like in the films. Hope it goes well and looking forward to name, weight and whether the baby has any hair! Keep on contracting!

Ooh ohgood good luck with it all -exciting times xxx

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 06:18

Good luck OhGood - hope all is going smoothly.

Princess - are you managing to get some sleep?

Runs - sympathy on the annoying wakefulness. Hope you managed to get some more kip. Good luck for sports day. I take it you don't have to partake in any teachers races today?

CitizenOscar · 24/06/2013 06:45

Evelyn - id just get as much sleep as you can for now and not worry about changing your routine as you don't know what your baby's pattern is going to be. Just sleep lots!!

Ohgood - hope things are progressing smoothly and you get to meet your baby soon.

Re waters breaking, mine didn't last time so hadn't been worried about it til I read your posts! MW broke mine at 8cm I think to try to move things along a bit.

Trying not to be impatient about baby's arrival but DH & I are both willing him to arrive as soon as he's ready, you know, any time, preferably quite soon... DS seems a bit unsettled too and it'd just be good to start our new phase as a family. Last time I was convinced i'd go overdue (contractions started at 39 weeks) but I think this one will be a bit early (nearly 38 weeks now) so I'm bound to be wrong & will probably be "late". Even though I know it's all approximate, I'm still impatient!

esme80 · 24/06/2013 06:48

oh good how exciting! Good luck!

mariekl my waters broke naturally just before pushing. Dont really remember how it felt or how much it was, was kind of preoccupied... I would say get a load of maternity pads to sit on in car, should be ok.

Hoping all this talk of waters breaking will make mine go, but no! Nothing...

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 06:49

Evelyn - I echo the others, if your sleep ain't broke now don't try to fix it! You'll find it easier to adjust to new pattern when baby comes if you are well rested.

Esme - glad the party went well, despite argumentative bils! Bet you're going to need a nice relaxing day today to recover.

BB01 · 24/06/2013 07:32

Hi all. My reception is terrible and I can't scroll down far at mo on this thread so hope everyone is ok, including all with babies and all still waiting. I don't think I have updated on here yet, just Facebook (excuse me if I already did, in bit of daze!), to say that baby Rosie was born on 22nd June at 10. 10pm. She is absolutely beautiful. She's in neonatal at mo due to small weight (4 lb 9) and initial problems including a suspected infection or two. Could someone update me on the arrivals list please? Finding it v hard her being there but finally got a second cuddle last night and so far expressing milk every few hours to try to keep up with her demands! Xxxx

VinegarDrinker · 24/06/2013 07:36

Gosh these July babies really are determined to keep SCBUs/NICUs busy! Congratulations BB and lots of vibes for baby Rosie. Gorgeous name.

esme80 · 24/06/2013 07:45

BB congrats ok baby Rosie and I really hope you soon get to take her home!

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 07:51

BB - hope little Rosie is feeling better today and you get lots more cuddles. Will update the list later on this morning.

IcingTheCake · 24/06/2013 07:56

BB - hoping Rosie feels better today! Smile

OhGood - how exciting! Hope things are progressing nicely for you, I was awake at 2:30 but determined to get back to sleep so didn't check MN - sorry!

Had active birth class yesterday - really fun and OH enjoyed it too, which is a bit of a miracle Wink were all going to email and try to meet up soon so that should be good Smile

36+2

CitizenOscar · 24/06/2013 08:10

Oh Bb congratulations! Sending healing & growing thoughts to Rosie.

evelynj · 24/06/2013 08:17

ohgood-that's so exciting, I was laughing so much at your manic random posts thought it was going to pop this baby out! I can't imagine that's what would be in my head if my waters went but you never know. Princess-I also would like something dramatic like in the films, don't think my dh would believe me tho-he thinks it will be on date for elcs & won't hear of anything else

BB-congratulations, that's wonderful tho must be hard to have her in neonatal but sure it won't be for too long. Try to keep your spirits up & enjoy next cuddles. Rosie is a wonderful name, (plan for it to feature in my little one's abw:)

Another day to get through & I just seem to find excuses to go shopping for supplies & spend money I don't have. I'm now worried that I only have 0-3 clothes & no 'newborn' or 'tiny baby'. My first DS was 10pm 1oz but am certain this one is nowhere near as big. What sizes have everyone else got & how much do you think does it matter?

I've been propping myself up more to sleep last couple of nights due to awful heartburn & it's helped sleep more so am going to enjoy it while I can as suggested

Have good days all!

TotallyEggFlipped · 24/06/2013 08:19

I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about the start of labour, waters breaking etc. It feels so unknown & out of control. Last time I went into hospital & my waters were broken by the MW & then contractions started and I had a rough idea of what to expect, but this time it's all anybody's guess how & when it'll all kick off.

DH is off to Glasgow tomorrow for a couple of days & I've a massage booked for next week, so I really need this one to stay put until I'm 38 weeks. Grin

My bump seems to have dropped, but I don't know if that's just my imagination or not. I caught a glance of my profile in the mirror this morning & I couldn't believe how big my belly looked all of a sudden.

Waiting eagerly for news from OhGood.

dinkystinky · 24/06/2013 08:24

Evelyn - I just have 0-3 month clothes. I grow chunky babies so I reckon these are the right size - though it amuses me that vanity sizing appears to exist in baby clothes as some are significantly smaller than others (though some are 7 years old I guess...). It doesnt hugely matter though - you can just roll up sleeves if need be for first few days or send out DH to get some smaller sizes if the baby is smaller when he/she arrives.
