Can't wait - one more week to go until I can embrace the sitting on my arse nesting instinct. Grin

This week's news is that my ankles have gone AWOL and have been replaced by those of an 80 year old lady.

35+0 today - whoop! Another one ticks by...

photographerlady · 06/06/2013 17:48

R.I.P ankles slouching :)

photographerlady · 06/06/2013 17:50

Icing as far as RLT I buy mine loose from Napiers on amazon. I like the taste and 500g lasted me over 2 weeks. (Cup a day). I just use a tea bomb and let it soak for 7 mins

MrsMillions · 06/06/2013 18:07

Loving the names everyone!

I've just had to have a nap after my very strenuous day sitting on a steam train then a boat travelling the length of Windermere. Hard work Smile - don't know how I'm going to manage the office next week.

Escape the in-laws tomorrow morning, hurrah! Just me and DH for these final few weeks and I'm hoping for a bit of nesting to kick in when mat leave starts.

35 weeks today

MrsMillions · 06/06/2013 18:08

PS any good tips where to get TENS machine pads from? A friend gave me her machine but I need new pads for it.

cheekbyjowl · 06/06/2013 18:15

sorry for all the repeat posts. it's all about me don't you know me me meee Wink I think I left my thumb on the post button when I joggled (pregnant running) to the bus

wow shelley we should get you a powerless multi purpose remote control and you'll be dandy throughout labour. how funny.

dinky a personal trainer? that involves gyms ...you are super pregnant woman!

rip ankles indeed! I tried to paint my toes the other day. I went for a sort of half lotus angle of attack then hoisting the foot over the back of the sofa...no chance... they can't be reached. I will have to take my talons to a salon.

cheekbyjowl · 06/06/2013 18:18

slouching mrsmilions heres to 35 weeks!

Persuasion · 06/06/2013 18:42

Arghhh, stupid phone just lost my massive post. Short version is: hi everyone, I love all the baby names, and thanks to all for making me feel better after my moan at the weekend but particularly to cheek (I think it was you) for recommending a cold pack for my pulled back muscle, it's made it a million times better!

I'm afraid that's all I can cope with retyping now. Did I mention how annoying my stupid bloody phone is Grin

SundaySunshine · 06/06/2013 19:21

Wahoooo! Last day of work tomorrow Grin it will only be half day (have antenatal in pm) and I'm sure largely involving cakes, coffee, sporkel, and ping pong. Not too strenuous then Smile

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 19:55

What is sporkel Sunday? The mind boggles.

Sorry to hear of those disappearing ankles - the good news is that they do come back after the baby arrives. Also - with the warm weather - check your fingers for swelling. I've removed my wedding ring and engagement ring as they were starting to feel abit tight.

Persuasion - glad the back is feeling better.

Cheek - not a super pregnant woman at all - its just it helps me deal with stress doing some exercise (though the amount I get done nowadays in a session is pitifully little!).

SundaySunshine · 06/06/2013 20:11

That should have been sporcle a quiztastic website that can be quite addictive fun.

elliejjtiny · 06/06/2013 21:34

I'm home! Thanks for doing the update whoever it was (brain has gone to mush) Ezekiel is likely to be in special care for 2 weeks while he wakes up and learns to feed. Felt really guilty for leaving him and coming home today but the lovely midwife said I'd be better off coming home and spending some time with my other boys than sitting on a ward where everyone else has their baby with them and goes home after 24 hours. When Ezekiel is nearly ready to come home I can stay in the parents accommodation while I get used to looking after him full time.

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 21:46

Glad you're home Ellie - bet your boys are delighted to have you home. Ezekiel will be back home with all of you very soon x

VinegarDrinker · 06/06/2013 21:50

Hooray for being home ellie - how is Ezekiel (gorgeous name) doing? How severe is the cleft?

Thinkingof4 · 06/06/2013 22:16

Brilliant news ellie congratulations again! Bet your boys are delighted to have you back

sunday hope tomorrow goes well

Re tens I found mine really useful each time so far but I think using it early in labour for me has been most useful, then g+a when things get more intense. I think I saw some tens pads for sale on amazon mrs check which size they are though as you need bigger ones for labour I think?

I found some old rlt in cupboard (just tea bags ) and had a cup this afternoon then had major braxton hicks for a while after - probably just coincidence though!!

TotallyEggFlipped · 06/06/2013 22:24

Yay for being home, ellie.

We got a baby names book out of the library while we were there today. DH has made a list of boys names he liked from the book. I hate all of them Sad. I think we need the baby to be a girl.

MarieKL · 06/06/2013 22:31

Ellie, so pleased you're home and Ezekiel is doing well. I'm sure the next 2 weeks will fly by.

Love all the other names too. Looking forward to hearing what all our other babies are called. Dinky, I like the idea of birth buddies, but still have no idea how to PM!

Ginger, so glad you're home. I hope the rest of your pg is as uneventful as possible. KFC sounds great as well. I've already told my DH we have to come home from the mat ward via MacDonalds as I really really really want one of their milkshakes!

Yay for all those finishing work tomorrow. My first week on mat leave is flying by. Really need to pack my maternity bag at the weekend as will be 37 wks on Monday.

Loved the Tens stories. Mine's on order so hoping it will arrive soon. MrsMillions, there was the option to order spare pads with my tens machine from boots but not sure if you'd be able to get them independently.

Persuasion glad your back is more bearable now.

Health visitor phoned today to say hello and arrange to visit as she'd been informed I've just moved into the area (we moved in over a year ago Confused) and I was pg again! Has anyone else been contacted by their health visitor?

Sorry not to reply to everyone else but shattered so heading to bed.

MummyKanny · 07/06/2013 07:20

Congratulations Ellie! What a lovely name. Hopefully you'll all be home soon.

Welcome home ginger, bet it is great to be home.

Marie - I am loving milkshakes too! Might get myself one as a Friday treat.

I neeeed to get me a TENS machine! Had some chronic lower back pain in the night and some cramping - it faded pretty quickly but was enough to wake me up. If it was a braxton hicks contraction then it hurt!

Had a scan yesterday and relieved to discover that placenta has moved up so a normal delivery should be fine Grin baby is a little underweight, not sure whether I should be concerned about that with 6 weeks to go... She estimated the birth weight at around 7 lbs, not sure if that's normal. Although i'm pleased that it has a smaller than average head circumference, hopefully that'll make for an easier delivery!

I also tried to sneak into the birth centre to take a look but all the rooms were taken. Found the midwives to be pretty mean but totally understand why they don't want people wandering around.

Three more weeks left at work. Hope they all go as fast as this one. DH has been doing some serious nesting! Baby's room is almost ready. I am only 34+1 so have tried to prepare him for a long wait until it is used.

Happy Friday all!

dinkystinky · 07/06/2013 09:13

You need to borrow a new baby names book Totally - if all else fails, play the actually giving birth card!

Marie - nope, havent heard from health visitor yet - but the ones where I live are useless. The HV where I lived when I had DS1 was lovely and gave me a call before I gave birth, so maybe yours is lovely too.

MummyKanny - if you have a car with heated seats, I found that they are really good for shifting lower back pain and cramps! Though neighbours may be abit Hmm about you sitting in the car for hours on end in the middle of the night not going anywhere Grin

I have to go to a "how to give birth" talk at the birth centre on Monday - its a prerequisite for everyone giving birth there (or intending to do so) even though I've done it twice before and once before there. If you're booked into the birth centre, maybe they'll do something similar at your birth centre too. 7lbs is perfectly normal - full term babies range from 5lbs to 10lbs (and beyond) so 7lbs is bang in the middle - and dont worry about baby being slightly behind the curve at the moment, they grown in fits and spurts and its normally the last 6 weeks they spend putting on weight anyway.

photographerlady · 07/06/2013 09:19

Well its been a busy week. I assembled the pram, decorated the LO room and washed about 1/3 of everything I wanted washing. I still have to sand and paint the cot, was a hand me down but pretty solid so wanna keep it. DH is off working on a big project so I am trying to lighten his "can you do everything for me husband" load. Plus now I am off work I have to keep busy.

MummyKanny glad to hear the scan went well.

topic:Babynames the one we went for we love but have been noticing that its semi in fashion at the moment. DH just said we love it so lets go with it.

Ellie hope the little Ezekiel is home with you soon.

topic: Tens mines booked to arrive the last week of June, so around 27 weeks, obviously I am hoping thats enough time. Can't believe how fast things are going all ready!

Abzs · 07/06/2013 11:06

Marie my HV rang me while I was in town on Tuesday to arrange a home visit before my due date. She sounded nice, but said she'd call me back on Wed and I haven't heard from her since

IcingTheCake · 07/06/2013 11:42

MummyKanny I had bad back pains and cramps last night too, found that i had a really restless nights sleep as i was so uncomfortable and would wake up in pain every little while, they were pretty infrequent though, its frustrating because i wont mind when im in labour but having braxton hicks is like a pointless pain it feels like Sad hope youre feeling better today Smile

dinkystinky · 07/06/2013 17:11

Yay, my deal has completed. One more to go and one more week at work to go. Off to regents park open air theatre tonight with DH to see to kill a mockingbird - hope the current sunny weather holds.

Photographer - sounds like you've been keeping very busy since starting mat leave!

SundaySunshine · 07/06/2013 17:38

Congrats on getting home ellie and ginger

Whoop to Dinky on closing your deal Smile Hope your last week goes smoothly. The open air theatre sounds great, I'd love to go to something like that.

Glad your scan was good mummykanny

I was thinking the same as Shiv, we should update the stats thread with the new arrivals, as I can't keep track of them all!

MummyKanny · 07/06/2013 18:07

Another week at work done! Three more to go. You'll all have to help keep me motivated as I feel like the only pregnant person still working! If I had a pound for every time someone asked "are you still here?!" Confused

Icing - it's so true, such a pointless pain! I've only had two so far over a couple of weeks but I imagine they will get more frequent. I tried to use my natal hypnotherapy techniques but was more concerned that I was actually going into labour Shock

Congratulations Dinky! Final countdown for you. I love the Open Air Theatre, fab treat to start the weekend.

Hope everyone else has exciting weekend plans?
