beautiful names. all of them. emblosion is from n.ireland I'm guessing, and leila and caitlin are very pretty...and ezekiel is just cool.

ginger glad you've escaped. I've never heard of contractions lasting so long, I feel sorry for you and hope you have a speedy labour when lo is ready.

im also feeling larger by the day. I find myself bending down to pick something up then sitting down on the carpet for a while to compensate for my over exertion.Wink

Ah those are lively names Paolo. Hope OH and the girls are doing well. Do you have a date in sight to return home?

Cheek - must be an echo in here:-) try to bend from the knees at this stage - less exertion and good strengthening practice for labour or do as I do and employ small people (is ds2) to pick things up for you. Fortunately ds2 is happy to be paid in grapes for his services :-)

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 09:36

Hmm, meant to say Lovely names Paolo!

MrsRoss26 · 06/06/2013 10:14

Cheek: I second Dinky's advice on bending - though this is incredibly undignified, it's far less uncomfortable!

Paolo: those are beautiful names Smile

DH brought home our first outside table & chair set last night, and I'm really looking forward to test driving it tonight! Hoorah for 4 day weeks...

33+1 and really hating the puffy feet/cankles already.

IcingTheCake · 06/06/2013 10:24

Yep bending at knees definitely helps, I find doing the dishwasher and washing and things like that are the worst because you have to constantly bend and straighten.

Anybody else not had even the tiniest nesting instinct yet? Or is it too early?

33+5

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 10:36

To be honest Icing I never really got nesting instincts with DS1 or Ds2 - v much doubt I'll get it this time round either. Am getting the urge to pee instinct whenever I walk for more than a couple of miles though!

IcingTheCake · 06/06/2013 10:50

Oh good! Not just me! Grin I was wondering if maybe i was just not getting 'the vibe'

Thinkingof4 · 06/06/2013 13:40

Blimey cheek you don't half go on Grin

Loving all the baby names, suddenly all starting to feel very close...

dinky glad you've had a better sleep, I'm with you on the needing to pee thing, very annoying

Re nesting, I think I have officially started. I spent yesterday emptying and reorganising our bathroom cupboard, and have also been furiously planning several other cupboards reorganisation! Not normally top of my agenda. However today it is hot and sunny and having already done a (short) sponsored walk with wee ones this morning (which basically meant me carrying ds3 for half an hour Hmm I am now too tired to do anything else practical and plan to drink tea and munsnet for a while

Speaking of tea, anyone else on the raspberry leaf tea? I'd kind of forgotten about it but have ordered some online to start drinking over next few weeks. Can't remember how many cups a day it's supposed to be though!

Finally big yaaay for Ginger getting out of hospital!! Enjoy your time at home, and lots of resting!

IcingTheCake · 06/06/2013 13:44

Ahh thinking you just reminded me i need to get raspberry leaf tea!! Any recommendation for a good one? And I think you start at a cup a day and work up to 3 cups but dont take my word for it Grin

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 13:45

Am starting on the raspberry leaf tea this week as am now 36 were Thinking - one cup a day, ramping up a cup a day as each week goes by.

Anyone interested in sorting out birth buddies? Basically means pairing people up (ideally with due dates as far apart as poss), they pm each other mobile nos, then when one pops, they can text their buddy the news so they can update the thread? If you're interested in it, let me know over the next week or so and will sort out a buddies list.

shelley72 · 06/06/2013 13:46

me! me! i have the nesting thing going on. its driving me mad because a. my back / hips hurt every time i bend or do anything at all really, b. the DCs make things untidy again within 2 seconds of being back in the room, c. i'm still trying to get everything back to normal after half term d. DS is coming home with dirty uniform every sodding day at the minute which means i never actually catch up and e. i do not have enough child free hours in the day to get on top of things. the state of the house is making me rather depressed Sad. wondering when i will ever manage to get it sorted out before the baby arrives, which could be a lot sooner than the july date i had in my head!

i dont remember this nesting thing kicking in with DD at all. maybe it will go away again soon Grin

IcingTheCake · 06/06/2013 13:46

Ooh dinky thats a good idea Smile I'd be up for it if others are Smile

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 13:47

Icing - the loose leaf version is stronger than the teabags from Holland and Barratt - you can get it from neals yard pharmacy or online (inc Amazon). Is abit of an acquired taste so drink it hot with honey is my top tip.

VinegarDrinker · 06/06/2013 13:48

The only instinct I have so far is to sit on my arse Grin

Trying to force myself to do a good spring clean though!

Oh, and I really should start on that hospital bag...

Which reminds me, TENS arrived today. DH ordered in on Fri coz I was so dependent on it last time and he started to freak out it wouldn't arrive in time! Need to read the instructions as last time my sister's BF had to work out how to use it for me once I had already gone into labour... (You may be getting the impression I am rather too laid back for my own good!)

36+2 today

shelley72 · 06/06/2013 13:51

i thought my TENS machine was fab the first time round - until i later realised that i had actually had it unplugged for four hours. still pressing the button must have taken my mind off the contractions Grin

VinegarDrinker · 06/06/2013 13:57

Hah, I was super sceptical prior to last time, but found a v cheap deal so decided it was worth a try. I wasn't convinced it was doing anything until I took it off to get in the bath, immediately started yelling and swearing, jumped straight out of the bath and demanded it back on!

Much later on when I was fully dilated in hospital, I was still using it. One of the pads fell off and I noticed immediately and again started yelling and swearing! (I was very quiet and focussed otherwise, bit like my own spontaneous version of hypnobirthing I think).

IcingTheCake · 06/06/2013 13:58

Haha that did make me laugh Shelley.

Is 100g enough loose tea leaves? Its so difficult Confused

TotallyEggFlipped · 06/06/2013 13:59

Icing I'd be really shocked if I get any kind of nesting instinct. I'm just not a tidying/housework kind of person unless it's completely necessary. (I do clean up after myself and DD though, my house isn't a complete sty - I just don't really do housework.)

Loving all the names!

dinky - you're doing really well if you can walk a couple of miles without needing to pee! I keep having to run off between patients at work to empty my bladder because I'm worried I won't last through anything longer than a quick operation! I also don't feel I've walked further than a mile for a long time.

TotallyEggFlipped · 06/06/2013 14:04

Vinegar I'm putting my hospital bag on my to-do list. Off to buy maternity pads and a mini shower gel this afternoon. (if I remember) Must sort out all the baby stuff & crib soon too. Maybe I'll save that for next week (or the week after) though.

VinegarDrinker · 06/06/2013 14:09

Oh yeah, we haven't got anything down from the attic yet..... I suppose the car seat, sling and a couple of babygros would probably come in handy at some point. Oh and we should really put the cot together, too.

BB01 · 06/06/2013 14:10

Brill choice of names, Paolo! Every Leila I've ever met has been beautiful, clever and lovely. Never met a Caitlin but love that name too

dinkystinky · 06/06/2013 14:16

100g should be fine Icing - you only pop a teaspoon worth in a strainer anyway.

Totally - walking, pregnancy yoga and a once a week pt session (which will stop at 38 weeks) is just about all the exercise I'm doing now - am determined to keep it up as much as poss as need to make sure my left knee, where I had an acl repair op a year ago, is as strong as it can be before birth. Am usually abit of a camel when it comes to wees so habit of a surprise to find myself needing the loo so much more often all of a sudden.

Loving the tens stories - neither tens nor gas and air did anything for me - but then maybe I was doing it all wrong!
