DD is 7 and very perceptive! I'm not sure why he's so Angry , probably because he wanted to be there shouldn't have gone to watch football at Wembley then!
It wasn't intentional, esp as we're having re-scan on Fri plus beta check tomorrow, but I'm glad she knows why I've been so flaky recently! She's sooo excited and has been sworn ti secrecy Smile

gingysmummy · 18/05/2013 21:25

extra i'm also crapping myself really worried that there will be no baby there although my preg has been confirmed, let me know how you get on.i'll update everything being ok

Bikey86 · 18/05/2013 21:29

extra yes I have a 28 day cycle so 4 weeks it is....your right Humpty that has gone fast. Finding it hard to keep it to myself..so at least I can tell people sooner than I thought!! Ha ha. My friend who is pg with said to me today...hurry up and have a baby. I just smiled!!

MrsGSR · 18/05/2013 22:30

We only moved here 6 months ago, so most of our friends, and both our families, are back in Devon, we haven't been home since finding out and probably wont until we're a bit further along as I wouldn't be able to lie to people's faces! My Dad and Sister and DH's mum know, but no one else until we see a heartbeat on the scan.

gemma277 · 18/05/2013 23:06

MrsG ah, it must have been lovely telling the family! Its just DH and me that now. Everyone seems to be having scans at 6-7weeks. I'm in London and first scan is 12 weeks Hmm.

Bikey congrats!!!! The may BFP bus has been really successful!!! WelcomeThanks

Love don't worry I'm sure he'll settle especially if you pull the pregnancy card haha. Must have been really nice telling your daughter tho.

Yoni, ahh poor you, fx for tomorrow. Ive never had chicken pox before so hope my DD dosn't catch it this year! Fx for the results.

Hope everyone with cramping feels better and good luck for everyone having scans next week, lucky you!Grin

Yonionekanobe · 19/05/2013 05:28

Thanks Gemma. I'm in London too. Would normally not have a scan until 12 weeks but as I've had an ectopic in the past had to be checked out early.

Am wide awake at 5.30am thanks to a nasty cough I've had for about three weeks and cannot shift. Thought it was getting better but so bad overnight I've moved to or spare room.

Bikey86 · 19/05/2013 08:31

Thanks Gemma still can't quote believe it. I noticed that a lot of people on here have had scans v.early, is this only an option if you have had problems with a previous pregnancy? I thought it was just a standard 12 weeks for everyone. But then again...I know nothing about this whole pregnancy thing!! Sorry if tmi but my boobs are so sore at the moment, they feel like a pair of boulders stuck to my chest :-/

Yonionekanobe · 19/05/2013 09:22

Hi Bikey and huge congratulations!

I'm pretty sure that in England and Wales scans are in the nuchal test window so around 11 - 13 weeks. With DD and this pregnancy my GP referred me to the Early Pregnancy Unit because of the previous ectopic. With DD I was scanned at 4 and 6 weeks (first to see if pregnancy was in the right place, second to detect heartbeat). This time I was just referred at six weeks.

I think there have been several ladies on this thread who have had spotting or minor bleeds so have also been referred, or self referred, for early scans.

gemma277 · 19/05/2013 09:46

Ah ok, thanks i was confused about the whole scan situations. Well i guess i will just have to wait another 6 weeks! I will have to try and forget about it, hmmmmmm

Yoni sorry about the cough, hope it gets better soon.

Bikey, yup sore boobs are all part of the funSmile

LittlePeaPod · 19/05/2013 10:09

Good morning ladies

Congratulations to all new ladies with gorgeous new BFP. Flowers

Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding the scan and yes it's a huge relief. Our next scan is the 1st. really looking forward to it rather than dreading it now. Such a shame all women aren't given at least three scans (early re-assurance, 12 week and 20 week) instead of just the 12 week and 20 week. I understand current economics mean we cant. The place I went was fantastic and we will be using them throughout pregnancy if needed. I would highly recommend them. They are in several cities and opening other offices. Here's is the link in case anyone is considering a private scan.. www.thisismy.co.uk/pregnancy-screening-baby-scanning-pricelist/

love good luck for next Friday and I hope you get to see the heartbeat. How many weeks will you be? With regards your DH getting mad about yor DD busting you. I wouldn't worry too much I am sure he will come round come Friday..

Humpty thank you for your note regarding our lose and excitement. I really appreciated that. Sorry o hear you still feel sick but at least you can eat after lunch. Smile

Yoni sorry to hear about the chicken pox and cough. Hope your DD gets through it quickly and FX you have immunity to it.

Sultanajo please don't get me started on the emotional break downs. Extreme exhaustion and pregzilla emotional break downs have been the fundamental basis of my pregnancy symptoms. Wink. With regards your meet ups with friends, can you delay them some how? I have an engagement party to go to on the 25th. Dreading getting busted..

Toby just read your mac & cheese note. Thanks for that one, I now have a huge craving for mac & cheese at 10am.... Grrrrrr Wink

Altered thank you. I am feeling a lot more positive following scan but still counting days down to Wednesday. That will be a mile stone. BTW I pee'd myself laughing at the thought of you demolishing 3/4 of a chicken. Good going!

Gingy good luck for tomorrow's scan. I hope you get some reassurance. It's an awfully worrying time and its awful thinking that something has gone wrong. Flowers

MissMedusa. Yea on the scan and heartbeat. Fantastic. Are you now 6+5? Does that make us due date fellows on 7th January?

extra good luck for Monday. I am keeping everything crossed that you get some re-assurance too. Worrying is so stressful. What time is your scan?

Gemma with regards scans. We opted to get a package of 4 early re-assurance scans due to previous mc. However we have had to go private as NHS only offer two (one at 12 weeks and one at 20 weeks)

I hope everyone really suffering from morning sickness start feeling better soon. Good luck to everyone having scans and my thoughts with everyone still experiencing spotting and cramps.

I have loads of macaroni cheese left over. DS will probably surface soon and eat some for breakfast :o

Congratulations newbies :o

Good luck extra and everyone else with scans this week. Mine is on Sunday, got bloods on Tuesday and got my 12 week scan appt through for 19th June.

My back is suddenly very sore today.

A11ycat · 19/05/2013 10:47

Hi, my 1st post on MN... forgive me if I haven't quite mastered the acronyms yet, it's still hard enough reading them, let alone trying to use them, and yes I've read the guide, just hard to take in!
I think I am 6+3, and am going to have my 1st doctors appointment on Tuesday... hope he tests me, I have 2 BFP? and no period, but other than that hardly any symptoms.
I weirdly knew I was pg 1 week b4 period was due... just woke in the early morning with reflux, and just knew I was pg... I tried testing straight away, but then did the maths with my period and realised I'd have to wait a week, but once it was the right time to check, it was +ve, though checked twice to be sure!
Anyway think it makes me due in January 2014, so thought I'd say hi!

DawnOfTheDee · 19/05/2013 10:57

This will be my second dc. I don't know why I don't twig that i'm pg earlier...

With DD for 3 nights in a row I ate a whole jar of pickled gherkins. For some reason this didn't strike me as weird. I only found out i was pg then (we weren't trying) was because when I was tidying up i found an old pg test (from a scare ages ago). I was in by myself and bored so i thought it'd be fun to poas. And it turned out positive. I nearly fainted!

This time we were ttc. The other day I bought the biggest jar of branston pickle i could find. And ate it in 2 days. Again didn't twig that i might be pg.

Durrrrr.........

DawnOfTheDee · 19/05/2013 10:57

And congrats A11yCat Smile

Yonionekanobe · 19/05/2013 12:00

Hi A11ycat and congratulations! Doc may not test. I remember bring a bit 'meh' about GP appointment with DD. It was a case of blood pressure, asking which hospital is like to go to and checking I knew dietary advice etc.

Two BFPs is pretty conclusive - no such thing as a false positive when it comes to HPTs!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/05/2013 12:04

Morning! Welcome newbies and congrats.

Bikey some people are paying for private scans. Depending on where you are, it's between £50 and £100 I think. Called a 'reassurance' scan.

Managed to get 10 hours sleep last night, but woke at 5.30 feeling sick as a dog. Still, feel 100% better for all the sleep, and have put a lamb shoulder in to slow roast (DH may faint as I have been lazy and not cooked at all this week).

Hope everyone's well!

MissMedusa · 19/05/2013 12:07

We're lucky in Germany. Private insurance pays for a scan every 4 weeks up to the 34th week and then you get one every 2 weeks. You get a few less under public insurance but my dr. offers a package where you get the same thing (around 12 scans) for ?100. I'm opting for the package as I need the reassurance.

gemma277 · 19/05/2013 12:08

Thanks little I may consider private scans then because the wait is unbearable!

Good luck to everyone with scans soon, Fx for all you ladies.

Welcome and congrats to all new BFPs Grin

LST · 19/05/2013 15:45

Hi all! Do you mind if I join in?

I'm Lst and I had a bfp yesterday morning. EDD is 25th Jan 2014.

BookTart · 19/05/2013 16:03

Hello and congratulations to all the newbies Smile

Having complained bitterly about having no symptoms, I would now like to take back everything I said as I've spent the last 48 hours feeling very sick indeed. pea was spot on when she said it would kick in at 6 weeks!

I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this, but is anyone else having to go up a dress size yet? I'm only 6 weeks, but I look pretty big. I assume it is just bloating, but I'm into the stretchy waistbands already Blush...

enjoyingscience · 19/05/2013 16:03

Hi LST and other new people! Congratulations on the BFPs!

Dawn I love the pickles story.

I'm working on an assignment in the office today (obviously not very hard, what with being on MN), and have changed my mind about everything I brought with me to eat. No longer want any of it. It's weird, because I'm not sick at all, just fussy.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Right... back to work

bluecarrot · 19/05/2013 16:09

Book tart - I'm not exactly skinny to begin with but I've def put on a bit around the belly and I've gone up 2 cup sizes. I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow.
