Oh and ooooh Arlandria. Exciting/scary! Although could i just remind you ladies we are meant to be the june baby's group. If you all keep having babies i cant put my head in the sand and pretending i've got loads of time before it becomes real.

MrsBri · 22/05/2013 08:34

Poor you, Sunny. :-( Do you have pain in between eating and going to bed?

I am the master of the sicky burp / hiccup, which can happen at any time. Lovely.

And yes, June is our month ladies! We will probably have 10 babies by then the way it's going. If not more!

The benefit of being due towards the end of the month is that I don't reach term until 31st May, so not expecting a delivery before the required month. Downside is I could also end up in July!

Hawkmoth · 22/05/2013 08:35

They don't let you home at my hospital. They keep you in in case you have a reaction to the pessary - it can stimulate a fast labour. I imagine it's awfully dull if you end up there for days at a time.

Also had a horrid night's sleep. Baby has moved down and I've got a tingly left leg. Woke poor DH at about half five with a sneeze of epic proportions.

pinkbear82 · 22/05/2013 09:19

38 week's today. yikes. seems like only a few weeks ago waking dp up to show him the positive test!

midwife this morning and health visitor this afternoon. and a dog due a bath inbetween!

have a really annoying cough, and I can't cough properly because it hurts bump and for fear of wetting myself which just means the cough annoys me more.

I was talking to a friend yesterday about the nursery saying I felt it was lacking something, that final touch - they helpfully asked if I meant the baby!

MrsBri · 22/05/2013 09:27

Ooh, forgot to say yesterday that our pram, car seat and cot bed mattress were delivered :-) All very exciting!

We practised putting the seat / isofix in the car, so we can do that without hassle now.

Also didn't mention that my midwife said I may have a little too much fluid, but she wasn't worried about it. She's going to monitor growth though as I'm now measuring thereabouts bang on when I was 2cm ahead til now.

Baby is very active, so I'm not too worried. I'm thinking I should start to bounce on my ball soon as we aren't engaged at all yet.

Steffanoid · 22/05/2013 09:29

Gina - our labour ward has 4 bays for people who've been induced but they then send partners home from 10pm till 8 am and call if anything starts to happen, cause at that point you've not even started contracting, I think if I end
up being induced oh will sleep in the car, it can take over 1/2 an hour to get to the hospital on a good day and I think he'll be petrified he'll miss something if it happens real quick, here's hoping I dont get induced

massagegirl · 22/05/2013 09:38

Another naughty baby not playing by the rules. 38 weeks and waters went in the night... I am so not ready!

MrsBri · 22/05/2013 09:50

Steff, our trip to the hospital is the same. Not sure I'd want DH to sleep in the car though, but he probably will as he's like that!

Massagegirl...excitement! :-) Keep us updated!

Steffanoid · 22/05/2013 10:32

I think my oh is too stubborn to go home and scared of missing things, I've convinced myself that because he's huge things will happen 'relatively' quickly and once we're in the labour rooms he doesn't have ti go

Steffanoid · 22/05/2013 10:32

good luck massagegirl, I need some of these have tge baby now vibes...

forgetmenots · 22/05/2013 10:58

Good luck massage girl, how exciting :)

Getting so impatient now and a bit fed up on my ball. I'm thinking I will definitely be tearing my hair out if baby is overdue....

Sarah2506 · 22/05/2013 10:58

Wow massage girl good luck! We are popping all over the place now! If I went early I think I'd feel not ready as well!

Actually at the moment it would be terrible. I think I've got something similar to you sunny. I felt sick all night, couldn't get comfortable, tried reading, had some cereal, nothing would settle me. Now on the sofa still feeling sick just have watching a box set half not. Feel worse lying down but no energy to sit up. It's basically the first trimester all over again. Dr Google suggests this is normal but I can't quite stand the thought of feeling like this for several more weeks.

Oh, and AmI Star Trek went well, though she kicked prett much the while way through. I'd recommend it to anyone concerned baby hasn't moved, or anyone who needs to know if their baby is a Pinehead or a Cumberbitch:-)

Steff were the same, hospital is 30mins away think he would worry something will happen when he's not there but hopefully being our first he should have time to get back but even if he's at home in bed I don't expect he will sleep though.

Have heard Some hospitals let partners stay overnight in a bed but I don't think ours do.

rrreow · 22/05/2013 12:41

massagegirl exciting!!! Good luck!

gina I've heard that at some hospitals they let you go home after they insert the pessary to wait for labour to start. But only with low risk inductions (i.e. an induction because you've gone overdue, not an induction for medical reasons). When I had my induction last time we went into hospital at 12am, I had the pessary at 2am and DH was allowed to stay at all times (as we were on labour ward, not the ante-natal ward). I was induced for medical reasons though.

learnermummy · 22/05/2013 13:19

Another one on the way! Good luck massagegirl!

Only 36 weeks here but thinking should put a bed mat under my sheet just in case!

Have spent first day of leave at the shops so far. Am exhausted but now have crib sheets, sleep nursing bras and a nice black bath towel from asda - thanks for the tip whoever mentioned that earlier!

Home now so feet up til school pick up Grin.

massagegirl · 22/05/2013 13:26

Thanks all. Just chilling out at home waiting for contractions to make an appearance! I was so convinced I would go overdue there's lots of things to still sort... Oh well, these babies have their own plans!

Hawkmoth · 22/05/2013 13:29

Good luck massagegirl x

SunnyL · 22/05/2013 14:04

Good luck Massage.

Learner I bought a waterproof mattress protector on Sunday from Dunelm Mill. Happy smiling faces of a grandma, daughter and grand daughter on the front. Made me mutter quite darkly at DH that clearly only women piss the bed!

arlandria666 · 22/05/2013 14:12

eeeeek all these June babies coming in May!!
I have spent most of the day walking around in a blur after being up nearly all nite worrying about the size of my hospital bag of all things! DH doesn't drive so we're gettin dropped off.
Going to do a bit of last minute shopping this afternoon for snacks and magazines etc then out for a meal with DH which we had already planned to do tonight while we can before babies arrival before we even knew about being induced.
I am in a state of denial and fear with a weird Christmas eve type feeling lol!
Good luck to any other mummys and babies that decide to make an arrival any time soon!

Olimoss · 22/05/2013 14:52

pokes head in

If anyone thinks a bit of walking would help bring things on I'm happy to lend my mum out. It was easier being at work, arguably. She's a crazy shopping fiend....

rrreow · 22/05/2013 15:30

learnermummy put the towel on a wash! Otherwise it won't be absorbent and you'll be covered in black fluff when you use it. Grin

I've decided it would be super nice and convenient if DS2 could be born on 1 June. I would be 38w, DS1&2 wouldn't have to share a birthday month (DS1 is beginning of May), it's a Saturday so don't need to make arrangement for our employee. Do you think if I write it in the diary the baby will take notice?

SunnyL · 22/05/2013 15:55

Rreow I've been told by DH baby is not allowed to arrive until after tomorrow as it his birthday. Firstly he doesn't want to share his birthday with bubs as it means for evermore he won't be able to drink on his birthday and will have to deal wi kids birthday parties. Also as he is turning 30 tomorrow he thinks that is a reasonable age at which someone should have a baby. of course if it had been up to me I'd have been barefoot and pregnant years ago.

How much do I want to mess with his head and start sending evil text messages to him now along the lines of 'oooooh waters just broke' or 'ooooooh the contractions have started'. I think on reflection though crying wolf at 38 weeks pregnant could backfire on me.

AlohaMama · 22/05/2013 16:12

It seems like there's babies popping out all over the place now, I can't keep track!

Good luck massagegirl - any sign of contractions yet? Will you have to go in to hospital if they don't start within a certain timeframe?

Definitely no plans for a May baby here, but like MrsBri and Gina I'm at the end of June. At Dr on Mon I was only 1.5cm dilated and baby still at -2 so I think I'm OK for a bit yet. Besides which the house is going on the market in the next few weeks, so just about to launch into mammoth cleaning session while dh does all the decorating we need to do. Panicking more about that than the baby right now!

MrsBri · 22/05/2013 16:37

Oil, I think it's safe to safe I won't be borrowing your mum! :-)

I've just vacuumed the car, mown the front and back lawns and cleaned the bathroom. Baby was quiet during all of that and is now going mental, waving his feet about. Ouch.

Still got to clean the kitchen yet. Wonder if that will stop him?

I would like baby on or after 4th June as that's when my official maternity leave starts. I'll be almost 38 weeks then too. 11th June is my date of choice as it was my late gran's birthday. How do I order that again?!

Sunny, don't cry wolf. It could backfire dramatically!
