there is some lovely stuff there ami, just got to help mum make some money lol, it's her first time at this location based on my recommendation so I hope its good, I keep spamming the facebook site I made for it and on tge farmers market fanpage too so hopefully will go well.

I've been getting the stabby pains at the crease as well, usually when I move after sitting down!

I think I've just made a huge mistake, couldn't decide between a 3 bean enchilada or 3 bean Masala for tea at the pub, oh went it's fine wont be that spicy it's just pub food, so had the Masala, it was more than spicy! one friend predicted little man to be born today, this curry best not make her right if old wives tales are to believed!

MrsBri · 17/05/2013 21:39

Oh, how annoying Arlandria. Hope it's a quick visit. Don't want to miss your baby shower!

And I know how you feel about getting up early. We are going to an all day antenatal class tomorrow which will involve dragging my sorry arse out of bed far too early.

Sams4lo · 17/05/2013 22:02

Thank you everyone :) it's been a very crazy few days! My induction was wonderful and the epidural was great got to 10cm with minimal pain and I kept everyone entertained as the crazy talk was funny! As this is my 5th baby we all thought a couple of pushes and he would be out - well not quite! My epidural ran out, they increased the drip to speed up contractions and make them stronger, sadly all this did was mean my contractions didn't stop - anyway after 2 hours of pushing the dr came in as baby was going into distress :( she was pulling and tugging at me which was like pain I've never felt before on top of contractions and no pain meds! So another hour passed and he finally started to crown, but not only was there a head, there was a hand and an elbow altogether! The midwife in all her years has never seen this happen, the drs were shocked equally! Baby was traumatised and in shock so spent 4 hours in special care, and was quickly returned if I could feed him (he's the boobie muncher of the century!) it turned out scbu was closed hence why he was with me! A few hours later he went yellow, then the fun really started every doctor nurse etc were around him, he had lights put up, bloods done and cannula put in! He had abo incompatibility, jaundice and sepsis! Then on day 2 they said they think he had the dreaded m word, which scared the heck out of us :( but I think that's been ruled out for now! He had the lights taken down, then his levels went back up again! He is on antibiotics still and he is still not passing urine so think I'm in for fun tonight with drs again! Tired doesn't even come close :( but he is the strongest, inspirational baby and everytime I feel over whelmed I look at his beautiful eyes and get new strength to carry on xxx

learnermummy · 17/05/2013 22:04

Just to indulge in a little self pity - can count the lie ins I've had in last 7 years on one hand. Sob sob Smile

learnermummy · 17/05/2013 22:07

Cross post Sams sound like a helluva week you're having . Hope the little man is ok. x

redwellybluewelly · 17/05/2013 22:10

Good grief sams, I really really feel for you, we had crazy all hell break loose too and a fortnight in intensive care for our dc1 so I am so sorry you are going through all that.

Hope brave boy turns a corner soon and you get some answers x

Steffanoid · 17/05/2013 22:10

oh gosh sams sounds like you've all been through it! hope things start to ease off and get better and that this little one who sounds incredible perks up so you can go home soon Thanks

Sams4lo · 17/05/2013 22:15

Thank you so much xxx hope I've not worried anyone x on the plus side as scbu is closed and baby has infection we have been moved to a private room with ensuite :) it's great as baby finally gets some rest Wink the downside is I haven't seen my four other baby's since 7:10 on Monday morning and they r not allowed in :(

Missy28 · 17/05/2013 23:01

Just out of interest I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the pains I'm having in a certain 'area' (cringe)!! I keep getting sharp pains all of a sudden which make me stop for breath. It's been happening since early evening but not getting worse or anything. I'm also having what I think are braxton hicks (my bump gets tight and hard and I feel like I need a wee!). I'm 36+5. Any ideas/advice??

Olimoss · 17/05/2013 23:03

Oh very best of luck, Sam - it sounds like they are looking after you ok.....

MrsBri · 17/05/2013 23:10

Goodness, Sam, that sounds traumatic.

I hope the little man recovers quickly so you can go home soon.

AlohaMama · 18/05/2013 00:43

Sorry to hear about your little one Sams. Hope he gets better quick so you can go home and see the rest of your family too. x

Missy - I sometimes get shooting pains, which I figure is like baby pressing on a nerve. Do you mean like that or different? Maybe the baby is now lower down so pressing on things more. As for the hard bump, that sounds like BH. I almost always get them when I need to wee. As long as they are irregular and not getting more frequent it sounds like BH rather than contractions. When is your next apt to see where the baby is positioned?

AmIGoingMad · 18/05/2013 07:07

Aw sams, so sorry to hear of the craziness that you're going through right now. Although that doesn't seem like the right word. I hope that little one improves soon and that you all get to be reunited soon too. Sending big hugs for you all.

Arlandria- I hope all goes well for you in assessment today. And that you have fun in your baby shower! I do think the 8 am appt time is madness on their part-don't rush too much with your blood pressure already high!

I hope you make lots of money with your mum steffanoid! And that you spend some of it on goodies!Smile

Just wondering- are any of you lucky enough to be under trusts where they routinely check you for GBS, or have any of you thought about sending away and paying for test? Or is it not a concern? As I tested +ve last time (by chance when they were checking for something else) and had to have antibiotics as precaution during labour, I've been a bit concerned that they still don't test as routine this time around where I am. Wonder though if I'm just at that point where I'm over thinking everything- which is often the case with me to be honest!

Sorry if that's a bit heavy going first thing in the morning!

Mrsbri forgot up say that yes- hiccups freak me out too!

Happy Saturday all!Smile

MadameJ · 18/05/2013 07:45

Morning ladies. Sam I hope your little one gets better soon and you get to take him home very soon!!

I officially did too much yesterday and paid for it last night so have decided on a pj day today, although I think I may have a tough time convinving 2yo DD as she is already lively!!!

pinkapples · 18/05/2013 08:04

Awww sam hope you and baby are ok and that dp is looking after you Thanks

Thanks for the info on hiccups pretty sure that's what it is then as it did feel really like a regular beating hehe

ginauk84 · 18/05/2013 08:26

Sams hope your both out soon and get to see your other babies.

Amigoingmad yes we can ask for the test at our main hospital if we want it. MW said if tested positive would have to deliver at hospital and not MLU. She said as baby is checked so closely after birth it isn't a big issue and would be treated then so she didn't think it was a big deal?

Hawkmoth · 18/05/2013 09:07

Sams, thinking of you both and hoping for a quick recovery x

RueDeWakening · 18/05/2013 10:00

Morning all Smile

Sams hope LO is doing well and didn't provide too much drama overnight.

I'm hoping we get let home today - have now had 2 nights of appalling sleep, partly due to DS and partly the other LOs on the ward who were winding each other up last night. It gets to about 11pm and DS decided he just wants to feed, last night this lasted until 5.30am Shock so I finally got to sleep just before 6am, and slept through the breakfast delivery Grin fortunately they left it for me cos I was starving!

arlandria666 · 18/05/2013 12:00

Hope all the new arrivals are doing well!! X x
Luckily hospital didn't keep me today so can attend my baby shower phew! They have referred me to a consultant tho so will see what happens at that appointment.
Hope all you other mummys to be have a good Saturday

Sams4lo · 18/05/2013 13:35

Thank u so much :) looks like he's going back to phototherapy again! The nurse "accidentally" left his baby notes in here earlier, so I managed to copy it onto my pad for reading Wink

How's everyone else getting on? X

rrreow · 18/05/2013 13:55

All the best sams that sounds like a real ordeal to go through. Hope your LO recovers soon.

I had a night of nearly constant and slightly painful BH (they kept waking me up every hour or so). And my cat is acting very strangely. Not sure if the two are related Grin but she seems sensitive to this pregnancy stuff. Am 36w today so need DC2 to stay put for at least a week so I can have my homebirth (not to mention I still have way too many things to do both work and home related).

I better go and get the beef stew on. Although last time I checked my 1kg of beef was still frozen solid... slight miscalculation there (I took it out of the freezer last night thinking that would be adequate..).

Steffanoid · 18/05/2013 14:41

oh my goodness cramps is not the word id use to describe the pain, mum bought me home from helping st the farmers market, she looked at me when I was having a bh and declared id gone an awfully funny colour, brought me out in a sweat and everything Sad I'd rather have labour than bh, I dont think we need to practice here body, let's just have the real thing, got told to sit down at least 10 times before the market even started!

pinkbear82 · 18/05/2013 15:14

hope today is a little less traumatic Sams and that lo is doing better.

rue hope you've managed to get home! at least not sleeping in the comfort of your own home is better than with a lot if strangers.

been awake since 3.30 here! in fact at 4 popped onto Facebook and my mum noticed next thing we're face timing each other! helped pass a bit of time. Grin

been doing a bit of gardening this afternoon, altho my dad gave clear instructions to not touch the lawn mower 'i know exactly where I left it, and unless you have photographic evidence that someone else used it for you, don't touch it' Hmm yes Dad!! some things are best not arguing with.

steff wonder if the bh's are crossing with the real thing?!
half of me worries I'll be so adamant it's not the real thing that I'll end up having a big rush on. guessing I'll know when it happens tho. 38 week's on Wed.....

Steffanoid · 18/05/2013 15:32

pink it would be quite hilarious if im sat here going nah it's just bh and then next thing you know there's an unintentional home birth haha

haven't had another one since so im defo classing it as bh, back is sore now too which is very helpful, think im gonna go to have a lie down when I've convinced them to take me to tge shops

DontmindifIdo · 18/05/2013 15:44

Sams - wow, that sounds like one hell of an introduction into motherhood! I hope he's doing ok and you are able to process it a little. I know it sounds stupid, but right now I bet you are so focussed on him, you aren't thinking about yourself, you've been through what sounds like a far from straightforward birth, be kind to yourself !

(self indulgent whinge coming up) My hips hurt, DS has a cold, and it seems 'man flu' does kick in in toddlerhood. And my parents are rocking up tomorrow, and the are what is known as "hard work". A day of them, sob.
