Grin Witch hazel gel smeared on your pads but don't put too much on or your pad won't be so absorbent! Ibuprofen is good for more short-term relief too! Make sure you're drinking plenty. You really don't want to get constipated on top of everything else, trust me!

How are you doing bring? Do keep talking to us, even if it's just to have a good moan! Flowers

bringonthetrumpets · 16/06/2013 22:46

Witch hazel like Jo said, have the partner pick up some comfrey leaf herb to make pads (steep the leaves in boiling water for 30 mins, save both the leaves and the tea, wrap leaves in gauze and pour tea over the top, pop in the freezer and save for sitting on Wink), arnica homeopathic to help with swelling, lots and lots and lots of baths (with herb tea if desired, just ask for recipe) and air-dry on a towel (it helps to prevent the rubbing from the pads). Most of all STAY OFF YOUR FEET AND KEEP THOSE LEGS TOGETHER

Eh, I'm fine. Wallowing a bit about being 41 weeks tomorrow. It was a super hot day out here today and I was gardening and napping on and off all day. Still having those "was it a contraction? It felt like a contraction...." tightenings all day, but that's nothing new so I'm just ignoring them. Texted with midwife and asked for a sweep on Tuesday. She said she would do it, even though she hates being interventive. So Tuesday looks like a bit of an induction day with a chiropractor appointment, followed by acupuncture, followed by a sweep. By God, that better do something!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 16/06/2013 23:05

bring you have every right to wallow. Just think of it as getting your money's worth from the pregnancy. Grin I know, I'm not helpful at all. Fx you won't need your sweep. Your little girl must be happy and snug where she is, but she'll be here soon.

Bless ya lib you sound all loved up with her. Grin don't you just want to snuggle her forever? I hope you're getting some sleep and not gazing at her all day and night.
Don't do too much, no walking or you'll feel like you're falling out

Librarina · 17/06/2013 02:49

First ever 2.30 wake-up. Novelty not worn off yet. She's not too interested in feeeding, preferring instead to punch & scratch my boobs but she loves to snuggle!

Lorelei353 · 17/06/2013 09:04

punching and scratching sounds familiar. Grin

The mw was here yesterday and ds has lost just over 11% off his body weight which isn't great. We're on a strict feeding regime of every 3 hours. We went through 36 really difficult hours of feeding so I'm confident that having got past that phase he'll be ok. mw is coming back today and if he's gained a bit of weight she will be happy to leave us to it. If not she may get us to supplement with expressed breast milk but I'm hoping to avoid it.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 17/06/2013 09:51

Punching, scratching, and when the get a bit bigger kneeding. Grin (bf babies do it to bottles too) I always thought they were trying to stimulate milk flow, ds "talks" to them, and teases them. Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 17/06/2013 13:29

I know it can be daunting and scary Lor to get news like that, but I know you two will be just fine! Just make sure that when he's feeding that he's actively suckling through the whole session and not falling asleep. Sometimes you gotta go do some weird stuff like tickling feet, stripping them down, using a cool flannel on their backs, cheeks, and feet, rubbing their jaw, or even just stopping and changing his nappy and then latching him back on, etc. Also, lots and lots of skin-to-skin so that he's able to take cues from your body and there is a good exchange of hormones so that he can regulate what he needs. You will get through this and you will be a breastfeeding master :) Frus you're totally right, they do do those actions to get the breasts to produce more milk and for it to come down faster! They're such smart little creatures!

Can't believe I'm still fecking pregnant. Angry

Oh bring that last line did makeme laugh!
It's because she is a really chilled out tot and will be a wonderful relaxed sleepy baby !! clutches at straws
It really can't isn't going to be too much longer
Lor keep at it, I think you've been unlucky he was weighed so quick and after those few days you argue led getting him to latch, I do the 3 hr feeding routine in the day and its taken both my dds longer to get back to birth weight because bf isn't as weight inducing as formula, this little one took 3 weeks to get back to birth weight but is gaining 5oz a week now

bringonthetrumpets · 17/06/2013 16:44

I think DH has been googling induction methods. He just brought me home a pineapple Hmm. So, now I'm eating out of a giant tub of fresh cut-up pineapple, getting a stomach ache and watching Harry Potter.

Desperate and pathetic

Lorelei353 · 17/06/2013 18:56

Thanks for the support. ds has feed really well since yesterday. In fact he put on 110g so the mw was happy and so am I.

Come on bring baby. Come join us Smile

bringonthetrumpets · 18/06/2013 01:41

Ok. There. I ate a whole pineapple today. Feeling slightly Envy {sick}. If anything, I've just given my baby a fruit sugar high.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 03:48

Keep eating bring you need to eat at least a truck load 7 of those bad boys to bring on stomach craps labour. Grin

My goodness ds wouldn't settle last night. I tried to have an early night, but ds refused to sleep, drained both boobs and got himself worked up into a right state.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 07:54

Ds is still in a grump, Sad but I've figured out that he's constipated from the bit of formula he had on Saturday. Tummy massage to get things moving after school run to then.

kittykatsforever · 18/06/2013 09:54

Our baby's must be in sync frus, dd constipated the last 2 days although no reason why, it's all come out this morning though and her vest is in the bin! It was everywhere! going for a jaundice check and weight check this morning hoping she won't need the tests but she is still abit yellow beautifully olive skinned
Bought dd1&2 the same putfit for a wedding yesterday, is it wrong that that was the highlight of my week lol

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 10:46

kitty no it's not wrong. Grin I've never dressed my dds the same Wink who am I kidding? It's just so cute

I have 9lb12 of baby boy now. Shock although he will probably loose 2oz of that when he poos.

kitty you can rescue the vests by rinsing straight away with hot water, then rubbing bio soap liquid into the stain and washing in machine.

Grin ds just sneezed 5 times mid feed, and thumped me on the breast every time with the force. I know I shouldn't laugh, but it was so funny, I'm sure he though I'd made him sneeze.

bringonthetrumpets · 18/06/2013 13:08

Looks like today is sweep-day. At least there is something I feel like could possibly work. I asked DH to come to the prenatal with me last night and he flat out said "no, I have to work". This morning he starts talking of staying home to nap all day because he's afraid of me going into labor at night and him being tired Hmm Angry. Om, WTF? That's definitely one way to get on a very hormonal, sore, fed-up pregnant woman's bad side. I don't want him hanging around here all day stealing the TV and laying on the couch while I'm being forced to watch whatever he wants and giving up the only comfortable position in the living room- laying down. Angry Angry.

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 13:39

Oh I totally agree bring I was relieved when DH went back after paternity leave as I got the tv all to myself. Grin
but your DHs needing sleep excuse is not that way to go. I'm sure the judge will understand if you throttle him. Grin

disclaimer - i don't advocate the throttling of DHs

I got my breast shells today. Lets see if in leaking as much as the soaked pads suggest.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 15:00

Well ds is no longer constipated eew poo explosion

kitty how did weight and jaundice check go?

bringonthetrumpets · 18/06/2013 15:10

Phew, at least the little ones will start feeling better (even though you've got some yuckola laundry).

In other news..... bloody show with very mild cramps (like barely there) and apt isn't until 11 today. I wonder if I should still do the sweep or see what happens?

OP posts:
bringonthetrumpets · 18/06/2013 15:10

How are things going Lib and Lor?

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 18/06/2013 15:56

Ooh bring if youve had nothig more before 11 I'd do the sweep as well, that really should get things happening then.

Lorelei353 · 18/06/2013 16:04

Things going great thanks. The last 24 hours have been peaceful heaven with Dh, Ds and I. Just been out for a walk too.

Heading to a breastfeeding cafe morning tomorrow and the midwives will weigh him there again, but he put so much on yesterday and has been feeding so well since I'm not worried.

Hope your cramps develop into something bring

bringonthetrumpets · 18/06/2013 16:09

Things are becoming a bit more noticeable, but still totally manageable. Talked to the midwife and she said to just stay home (it's a 30 min drive to her house) and to go for a walk instead. So, heading to the store as we have absolutely no food in our house.
