I'm so fed up! I went to bed at 9 & still haven't gone to sleep! Hmph! I have gas & heartburn & I'm too hot & can't get comfortable.... But I'm soooo tired! Sad DS2 won't stop wriggling & poking me in uncomfortable places. DS1 woke up crying so I brought him into bed with me & thought he was dropping off but he decided to sit up & start chattering just as I was finally falling asleep! I've put him back in his cot now & not heard a peep from him since! Hmm
Why is it that I can't sleep even though I didn't have a nap this afternoon?! I thought not having a nap & getting to bed early would mean I'd have a proper sleep, just incase labour started soon! Hmph. Not impressed!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 05/06/2013 07:28

lib I think you're ready. Grin

jojo I hope you got some sleep last night. Don't they say toddlers sleep better at night if they have a nap, Shouldn't adults be the same?

Oh and since it doesn't rain but it pours I've discovered that ds has lip-tie. Confused now have to find someone to do something about it.

Lorelei353 · 05/06/2013 09:44

Morning all.

I thought I was going to be crippled today as my back was absolutely killing me last night. I spent three lovely hours picnicking in the park with a close friend and her 6 month old DS yesterday but between the walk up there and back and all the sitting on the ground, my back was in bits last night. Had a bath before bed but was still pretty sore, and woke me during the night. Surprisingly it's not too bad this morning though. Definitely going to take it easy today. I just don't want to strain my body and then go into labour already in pain!c

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 05/06/2013 09:53

The bath must have helped then lore definitely don't want back pain before it starts. Picnic in park sounds lovely. Will be nice when you have a baby to take. Grin

Spoken to HV, just waiting for her to get back to be about getting ds' lip-tie snipped. I thought I'd have to convince them or explain what it was, but they actually knew. can you tell I've had previous bad HV experience, I'm in shock when they're good Hmm

kittykatsforever · 05/06/2013 10:04

Frus I have no idea what a lip tie is?
Bring that sounds like perfectly reasonable logic to me!
Lor yes a nice day taking it easy is on order now
Lib if this is your "40wk" app then I think you can have a sweep? I'm sure I was told I could then if I wanted
Jojo hope you got some sleep, things like that really piss you off when your pregnant!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 05/06/2013 10:37

kitty lip-tie is similar to tongue-tie, similar symptoms, but it's the bit of skin that connects the top lip to the gum.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 05/06/2013 11:25

Ooh my first baby group with ds. Grin I'm off to a breastfeeding support group at one of our children's centres. I'm still not going to share him Wink he's all mine

Librarina · 05/06/2013 12:16

Well Midwife appointment was fine, was not my usual lady so I didn't ask her for the sweep (plus I have tickets for a literary event tomorrow evening so Id rather go to that than have a baby) however I've a consultant appointment onMonday so they could do one then if I want one.

I don't know what I want. I'm actually still very content being pregnant. I don't feel uncomfortable, my body still works, baby is wriggling and seems comfy enough so part of me thinks why hurry things along, but then I think, I don't want to be 2 weeks overdue and fed up! It's hard to know what to do for the best so I'm going to have an ice lolly.

Enjoy your breast feeding group Frus, I can't imagine the people there will want to steal yr DS, they'll all have babies of their own, it's when you go to non-baby places that you need to worry!

Lor. I'm spending the day on my hands and knees counting the money from the change jar... I recommend it as a useful but lazy way to pass time. Helped by Downton on DVD!

Lorelei353 · 05/06/2013 12:22

That's one way to pass the time lib

I'm due to meet some of my NCT group for lunch at 1. Sitting here deciding if I could be bothered leaving the house. Popped out to post office earlier and was SO uncomfortable walking around, and my back still hurts.

Decisions. Decisions...

bringonthetrumpets · 05/06/2013 13:51

Ooh good spot, Frus! So glad you have a competent HV. My goodness there are some doozies out there. Sounds like he's definitely getting enough milk, is the latch just uncomfortable for you?

Lib it is really hard to know what you want in these last few days/weeks. Being pregnant is definitely easier than taking care of a tiny new human, but being not 50 months pregnant is always something to look forward to.... it's ok to be in the in-between place!

Sorry to hear about the sore back Lor Sad Ouch, ouch, ouch. Hopefully just a day of laying-low will cure it.

Sad Jo. I hope you can get in a nap today to make up for last night. Urgh, sleep is so frustrating these days! Damn Mother Nature and her design to getting us ready for a newborn.

So, prodromal labor is just so fun. Can't even begin to tell you how lovely it is to have regular contractions for 4 hours, have them completely fizzle out and then have a wriggly fetus kicking and stretching for another 2 hours (which would bring us up to 2 am). Yay for prodromal labor. I have my grumpy cat face on this morning and am going to yoga to hopefully gather a few zen vibes back into my day (as it stands, I'm biting heads off this morning).

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 05/06/2013 14:55

lib that does sound like a good plan for the day (downton rather than the money counting) Grin

Baby group was good. Nice as relaxed and good to speak to other rl mums.

bring I can't deny he's getting enough milk. But his latch isn't right; he's not opening his mouth wide enough. Which can be sore at times. And I have a bruised nipple (which doesn't actually hurt yet) I'm hoping they do something before my supply is affected.

bringonthetrumpets · 05/06/2013 18:10

Yeah best thing to get it taken care of before things come up. Hopefully you can find someone to snip it for you!

Lorelei353 · 05/06/2013 23:14

Having so many bh ctx since this afternoon. Beginning to drive me a bit mad. I don't think this baby is going to hang around too long though.

Never heard of lip-tie before, but glad it can be sorted out.

Jojobump1986 · 06/06/2013 01:14

Urgh. BHs & a v squirmy baby do not make it easy to get to sleep! He keeps poking me in the same places. I'm sure I must have internal bruising! It hurts so much! Sad

I really don't want to go into labour at all... It's really odd. Last time I was looking forward to the challenge but now I just want to be left alone! I'd be quite happy for someone to sneak in while I was sleeping, sedate me, cut him out & leave him next to me! I guess I want it to be over, just without me having to do the end bit! Grin I'm also not 100% convinced I want another child. I like the one I have... No need for any more... Have I mentioned that I don't handle change very well? Wink

Librarina · 06/06/2013 07:41

Hey JoJo, I'm having the 'not entirely sure I want a baby at all' feelings. I've loved being pregnant and the change from pregnant to parent seems far too scary! Our lives were lovely before, we had so much fun together and now I'm frightened that once this little person comes out we are going to become 2 exhausted people who are too poor to do anything nice and we'll never have fun again! i also worry, what if the baby doesn't like us?

On a happier note, the house is just about baby ready. We put the pram up last night (very technical, there was a DVD, we may never get the damn thing down again) and I'm going to pack my bags (again) today.

Lorelei353 · 06/06/2013 09:55

I feel kind of the same Lib I've been enjoying being pregnant, and it's flown by! Also, for us, we don't really know what we're in for during labour having never done it before. But yeah, I have a great life with my DH and it's all about to change. I guess we just have to have faith that it'll be tough at first but that our lives as little families is going to be better.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 06/06/2013 12:18

I'm still not sure if I want children. Wink I wouldn't change them for the world, but I still wonder what I'd be doing if I didn't have them.

bringonthetrumpets · 06/06/2013 15:16

I'm just really grumpy today. I'm sure you don't want to read my grumpy woes this morning so I'll spare you all. Hope everyone else is having a better day!

OP posts:
Librarina · 06/06/2013 15:39

You're allowed to be grumpy Trumpets! There's 2 heavily pregnant women admitting that they're not entirely sure they want babies (and one person already with the babies) so a bit of grump isn't going to stand out at all!

I'm getting ready to go and flirt shamelessly with someone I've had an enormously filthy crush on for years. I'm currently trying to find a dress that doesn't make me look 39+6 but that does show off my boobs! It's quite a big ask. Still if he does ask me to marry him, I may just run off and abandon you all!! If I'm here again tomorrow you can safely assume we didn't elope.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 06/06/2013 17:28

Definately allowed to be grumpy. I'm grumpy an I'm not even pregnant.

Good luck on your elopement lib

bringonthetrumpets · 06/06/2013 19:44

there's another person in labor that my midwives had to blow me off for today. This is just a really depressing day.

Jojobump1986 · 06/06/2013 21:42

I've decided that DS2 is going to arrive tomorrow. I want his DOB to be 07/06/13 because 7+6=13! Grin DS1's DOB has a similar mathematical solution so I'd feel bad if DS2 didn't have a cool DOB too! I'm such a geek! Blush

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 06/06/2013 21:47

Grin not geeky at all, but if it is then I am too as I was disappointed when dd didn't arrive on her due date (06/07/08) Grin

Librarina · 07/06/2013 03:59

I am awake.
I do not want to be awake.
This is an entirely unreasonable time to be awake

And I'm hungry! How can I be hungry? I went out for dinner last night and ate an entire aubergine!!

I just tried my hypnobirthing CD and it doesn't work, I am not at all relaxed. I am bored, hungry and thirsty and never going to have a baby

Lots of love, Grumpy Grumpington.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 07/06/2013 07:38

Morning lib I see you (and grumpy grumpington) were awake at stupid-o-clock. How does hypbobirthing work?

I think I've got to the stage of sleepiness that I don't know whether i'm awake or asleep. When i wake up I'm wide awake for long enough to latch ds on, but the moment he starts feeding I'm zonked. It's like a magic sleepy switch.

Dd made me laugh last night, she came in to us, climbed on the bottom of the bed, curled up by our feet on top of the dovet and went to sleep. Odd child that one. Grin
