APRIL 2013 - Part 9 - Fed up, tired and over due! Will we make the April deadline or could we gatecrash May?

Hello everyone and welcome to what I am sure will be the final ever Due in April 2013 thread!

Only a few of us left still holding on and fingers crossed we will all pop within the first few pages of this thread

So let me kick off...

I am currently 40+11 and due to be admitted to hospital tomorrow to start induction. I've been told to expect a May birth as my cervix is still high and very closed!

Lets get everyone else checked in who is still holding on and all the other April ladies can wave the pom poms and send labour vibes to those of us yet to have our lovely newborn snuggles.

Aw Keys my sweeps in previous pregnancies were really painful hence this time I haven't had one so far and they didn't help before either which has helped the decision this time - don't mind the pain if it is going to help get things moving!!

I think here Jacq they let us go home again with pessary induction - I am assuming that is what they are going to do with us on Thursday night but of definite as in my two precious pregnancies I did have to have the drip in the end anyway so they may just go straight to that anyway?!? Anyway good luck for today I hope it gets things moving for you - you may just scrape in to April still!!

Congratulations to all of those with new babies! I wonder if any others will sneak into April?

Been to the midwife. She offered me a sweep which I had - wasn't quite prepared for the discomfort at the time but it was ok and at least I have done something to encourage things along. If all else fails will be induced on the 9th May! Hoping things happen before then!!

Here we are approaching the last half hour of April - I wonder if any babies are going to sneak in before May arrives?

Good luck for inductions, I hope you have nice easy births! Can't believe it's 1st may now, not long and the last babies will be out am sure.

Good luck everyone still waiting. Once your babies are here all the stress and discomfort will be worth it, honestly!

sweep yesterday and really strong period type cramps ever since plus a show today. fingers crossed!

Hello all still hanging on. Convinced I would go 2 weeks late with a due date of 30th and first baby, was surprised when waters broke early on 26th. Almost 3 days later and after a very traumatic time, baby knew arrived on Monday 29th weighing 7.10 pounds. We are well, in love but very tired. May be going home today.

Hang on in there everyone, not long to go now - there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Congratulations knew, hope you get home soon! Sorry to hear at was traumatic. Hope you're recovering ok.

Off to see consultant m/w today. Have got everything crossed they will induce me

Congratulations to all who've had their babies!

I am 40+2 today and just had a bloody show this morning, excuse my language! We went to see the midwife yesterday who offered a sweep (rather early, in my opinion, but bring it on) and she said as this is DC3, my cervix is already 2cms - that's apparently normal with second, third etc babies but not a sign of impending delivery. So she gave me the sweep which was not as bad as I expected and I got a nice pub lunch and a half pint with DH afterwards I made him take off half a day in case something happens and at one point I had regular strong contractions 14 minutes apart, but by 10pm it all stopped. So we all went to sleep. I hope something kicks off today though.

so forgive an indulgent update from me (and any hand holding gratefully received).....

Hade a sweep Tuesday eve, period type cramps for 24hours. Contractions started about 9pm last night. Up all night. went to hospital at 5 this morning to be checked. 2cms!!

Omg this hurts (stupid naive me!) esp as the little madam has moved to almost be back to back (first time she has moved position this pregnancy!).

Have an elaborate set up on our bed with pillows and my birthing ball and tens machine and wotsits.

Think this might take a while!

Hang on in there Photochick! At least your LO is on its way so hold the thought of the prize at the end in mind and maybe that will make the pain now seem a bit better. Lots of deep breathing (and wotsits).

Photochick, Wilf made his appearance back to back, it was really intense, have a look at the spinning babies website, has some good positions for b2b labour. Fingers crossed it all goes quickly.

I also had a week of overnight contractions that were every 5-7 minutes but faded by morning. Until my waters went I thought it was going to be another night of pain.
