Woop woop bowlfull and jellycurls! I am hoping that I won't have a couple of weeks of wondering, and that I will instead start to feel them stronger every day... I can hope Grin

thethreeblondies · 02/05/2013 10:06

Yay for all the good news, xx

I too think I've felt flutterings but a couple of times it's been followed by a bit of a wind Blush Grin

Have woken up today with yet another blinding headache, apart fron paracetamol and taking to my bed anyone with any hints or tips?

roxvox · 02/05/2013 10:18

threeblondies when I am at work and bed isn't an option, I often find that a heat bag on my neck really helps. That and/or some of that 4head balm spread liberally all over my forehead and neck. I hope you feel better soon, I can completely sympathise because I have really been suffering with mine of late.

legallyblond · 02/05/2013 10:32

So so happy for MoN and Soup (and Flyer!). MoN, tbh (in a good way!) I can hardly believe that such a bad 12w scan has ended so positively!

I too have started feeling movements - last might was the first definite, but more flutters this morning! I'm now 18+6. With DD though, I felt nothing until 25/26 weeks!!!

Just a week until 20 week scan!!!! Excited, but v nervous. Not sure how much they'll be able to see - because it's twins, I expect it's starting to get squashed!

Tomorrow I will absolutely definitely be half way! The latest I'll have them is 38 weeks (14 Sept), so 19 weeks is half way. Makes a change from DD who didn't arrive until 42 weeks!

cazboldy · 02/05/2013 12:02

Just wanted to say how pleased I am for all you who got some good news yesterday! Fantastic xx

Wickedgirl · 02/05/2013 12:21

Jelly......did your tea have sugar in it? I feel more movements after consuming something sweet

MotherOfNations · 02/05/2013 12:28

Me neither Legally but I suppose we're not completely out of the woods until the full results and the heart scan. Even then there's always the chance that something else will be detected.
I'm feeling hopeful and slept last night for the first time since the scan though Dp didn't as he was on night shift, poor soul.

TheFalconsmistress · 02/05/2013 12:30

Morning a week untill my anomally scan too legally

Uni assignment due today i can't see my getting it in not sure if I am one of life study people I get top marks when i hand my things in but i just have no motivation. I know its sad but i decided i wanted to be a housewife when I married DH but I keep pushing myself self into things thinking i need to be more being a sahm surely is not enough.

I have the consultant on tuesday too hopefull i will be sorted from then on the meds!

Warlin · 02/05/2013 13:05

Legally your scan will be so exciting with twins...have you got your head around having 2 babies yet? And are you going to find out the gender? I would be surprised if you get to 38 weeks tbh..I know lots of people with twins and 36/37 weeks seems to be the norm. I was 37 weeks with ds so I can't begin to imagine how uncomfortable it must be with two!

We are booking our gender scan for next week. I know it's a boy but can't wait to find our for sure. I guess if Im honest I'd secretly love a girl but reckon a boy is more likely and would be nicer for ds to have a brother.

I'm 18 weeks today so 2 weeks to wait to full scan.

Good luck with the assignment falcon. I don't think pregnancy is good for work motivation generally!

textbook · 02/05/2013 13:21

thethreeblondies i had been getting reallt awful headaches for weeks - went to the Dr and it turned out to be sinusitus. I've had antibiotics and a steroid nasal spray, and they finally seem to be going away. If you've had a cold recently, it could be the same thing for you...?

Hope you feel better soon Smile

JellyCurls · 02/05/2013 13:24

wicked no sugar, no milk and no caffeine either so basically just hot coloured water. My tea sounds disgustingly boring doesn't it

thethreeblondies · 02/05/2013 14:17

textbook you may be right my headaches have definitely been worse on days my hayfever has flared up, seeing mw tomorrow so will see what she says, before I give up hours of my life at the doctors!

bowlfull baby was probably kicking to tell u to put some milk and sugar in your tea Grin

thethreeblondies · 02/05/2013 14:18

Sorry getting my Jellys mixed up jellycurls!

TheFalconsmistress · 02/05/2013 15:42

Bought my pram a sliver cross liner sleepover its huge not sure it will fit in the car but only planning to use it for a few months prob till the march, It can be used as a moses basket as well so saves me buying that. I have the pram car seat and moses stand for £75 so thats a bargain as its a fortune new Grin

BowlFullofJelly · 02/05/2013 15:56

I'm still so lost with prams/pushchairs - keep swinging wildly from must have a double to really no point in a double. We went to Mothercare at the weekend and was patronised by a v young male shop assistant who couldn't grasp just how little I know about prams or about what I want.

I also notice more movement after I've eaten, particularly sugary things - but need to stop using this as an excuse to drink sugary fizzy drinks and eat Haribo!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 02/05/2013 15:57

What a gorgeous day! I've been to work......don't feel so bad about it now they weren't going to offer me a part time position anyway so they can't think that much of me! I've told them I want to come back full time starting in July and after my 20 week scan provided its all good I will drop my bombshell!! Felt a bit bad lying to my friends there but it's only for a few more weeks. Don't think anyone noticed my bump- clever dressing was needed today and no eating before my meeting!!
Yay on the pram falcon its so fun buying stuff! Ds still has all his naps in his pram so a good one really is an investment!

Umlauf · 02/05/2013 16:07

Hi everyone!

All my students know, the last of them today. They are sooo sweet and I'm going to miss them so much! I took over a "naughty" class in Jan as my male colleague couldn't cope with them (trying to be their mate) and today they said they were sad i wouldn't be here next year and gave me a little baby vest thing with the Local football team name on it!

Gender scan tomorrow! Up until now I had no preference but this morning I woke up dreading it being a girl because I have a sudden and overpowering fear or not being the only special lady in my DHs life!

Fingers crossed for a boy! Also I have the boys name down (barring middle names) and am totally stuck on girls.

Warlin · 02/05/2013 16:21

shooting what age is your ds? My Ds naps in pram too..we have a bugaboo camelion and it's really comfy but a pain tp put in the car. I do love it though and don't really want to sell it. I'm thinking of looking for a second hand baby jogger for when we are out and about and when I'm out with the dog possibly using the bugaboo and sling/ carrier for one or the other baby....arghh....panicked at the thought of logistics! I told work 4 weeks after returning from mat leave...so stressful! The response from the CEO was a big hug and then "tell that dh of yours to get the snip"!!

umlauf I'm excited about the gender scan too and am worried about feeling disappointed after it. We have a girls name but not a boys. I'd love a girl but know it's another boy...eek! Maybe you're right though, maybe it's better to be the only girl in dh's life and little boys do love their mums

Smitten1981 · 02/05/2013 16:34

I was talking to a colleague this morning about prams and she said that she wished she'd got the Bugaboo Bee.

I'm a bit put off by it as me and DH think it looks a bit like a wheelchair, also it doesn't seem to fully recline, although they say it's suitable from birth.

I think we're going to get the Uppababy Vista. It seems to have good reviews and it comes with everythng, so no shelling out for an extra carrycot/raincover/car seat adaptors. It works out much cheaper.

The Mamas & Papas Sola looks good too, and it's very well priced.

We were going to get the Stokke Crusi until we saw how massive it is, it was the only one that we both liked until we saw it IRL, it's HUGE!

I want something that I can pop out to the shops with that manouvres easily without loads of faffing about.

Smitten1981 · 02/05/2013 16:35

Ps. I have had the WORST heartburn today. Even Rennies didn't stop it. Agony!

Umlauf · 02/05/2013 16:38

warlin we can swap names then if needs be! Did your newborn even sleep overnight in the bugaboo? I have NO space in my tiny flat and was thinking the cot thing looks like a Moses basket..... Would it be cruel?

I really want to combine a Basque name in the names somewhere to reflect the country the baby will be born in, my they aren't working brilliantly with the first name picked out. Ill hassle the baby names thread tomorrow I think but for now

What do you guys think of:
Albert Imanol B(surname)
Albert Endika B
Albert Asier B
Albert Julen B

And for a girl

Edith Miren B (Edie)
Miren Penelope

See... Totally need a boy! Girls are hard!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 02/05/2013 16:58

warlin ds is 8 months. I went through a phase of enforcing naps in the cot but it didnt work and he sleeps so well in his pram I figure go for the easy option! It makes him portable too if I need to go out.
smitten we have a stokke xplory and its amazing. We have stokke everything - high chair, baby carrier and its a great quality brand.
Think we will go for a bugaboo donkey as our double one but I'm worried its too wide for the front door! What would you do if it was triplets?!!

BowlFullofJelly · 02/05/2013 17:04

I saw a woman with triplets the other day and she had the largest and scariest looking buggy I've ever seen - a side by side double with a carry cot attached the top. She looked perfectly calm as well - certainly a better woman than me!

BowlFullofJelly · 02/05/2013 17:05

Umlauf I love Edith but DP doesn't like it Sad

Sparkeleigh · 02/05/2013 17:07

Smitten - Galviscon works for me, the original horrible aniseed one in the bottle. I put it in a glass and knock it back in one pretending it's sambucca to get it down Blush

Umlauf I like Albert Julen best, it had a nice cadence to it, but that could be because I don't know how to pronounce the others! I love both your girls names, Mirren/Miren is one of my favourites but it's the name of my brothers ex and his fiancée is a little touchy about things like that...
