Any one else hoping for a 2014 baby?

I'm hesitantly dipping my baby toe in the pool after having a mc last October. I'm 4+2 today with my first and hoping and praying this one sticks.

Here's to 2014!

Ps - re telling people. Only DH and DS know (although DS a bit little to get it [grin!]) a and all of you! We're going to a wedding in 1 June with my parents so think we will tell them then as I won't be drinking and we will have had the private scan at least by then.

I think we'll tell my DSis and bil a few weeks later when we're all in Majorca together. We told them we were pregnant with DS then last year so sure they'll think it's a joke Grin.

I told the rest of my family around 12 weeks after the 12 week scan with DS and then I didn't really tell other people til about 20 weeks. I unfortunately knew a couple of people who had late loses after the 20 week scan and that really worried me. It is very, very, very, rare that something like that happens though so I do not want to cause unnecessary worry saying that. This time I think we will just say post 12 week scan to everyone.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 09/05/2013 09:24

Finally! Just wanted to post a link to this pregnancy calendar [http://www.justmommies.com/get_pregnancycalendar.php?month=1&day=10&year=2014&submit=Create+my+pregnancy+calendar link]]. I really like. It as you can work exactly how far along you will be on various dates

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 09/05/2013 09:24

link hopefully that works now!

Wardy17 · 09/05/2013 09:30

No bleeding gums pod I'm the same lots of little things but nothing major.

Anyone else worried about dtd since finding out about being pg?

TobyLerone · 09/05/2013 09:37

Gob, my DC are 18 months apart and it's great. They're a year apart in school. I don't honestly remember it being particularly difficult having a toddler and a newborn (although maybe I've blocked it out!)

Thanks for the info about the NCT. Last time, I went to NHS classes and they were perfectly fine. That was almost 14 years ago, though! This time we're going to go to NCT ones. I would quite like to have 'mum friends' this time and this is DH's first child, so he'd like to go to classes. I'll look into joining after 12 weeks.

That is a great calendar, too!

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 09/05/2013 09:51

toby - do you still have hair? Grin. Please reassure me!

Seriously, thanks fir posting. Stories like that really reassure me. And you're going on to have DC3 - respect!

SadPander · 09/05/2013 09:59

Good luck at the midwife Toby hope all goes well.

Hopefully there could be a lot of pregnant house moving going on on this thread then! We have plenty of room and actually love our house (only moved here 3.5 years ago) but I've never really been keen on the area since we got here. The idea was to move before TTC but obviously that didn't quite work out. Feeling a bit stressed as if it doesn't all go through before January I'm not sure where we will stand with the mortgage when I'm on maternity leave - might mean we have to wait a year or so which I don't really want.

Sultanajo · 09/05/2013 10:04

Gobbo you mustn't feel guilty or worry too much about the age gap. Every child is different and it totally depends on their personalities! Two of my friends have a similar age gap between their children (one has two boys the other has two girls) and they have always got on really well (apart from the usual squabbles)... Fingers crossed you get to see the lovely midwives too - makes all the difference!

Wardy OMG YES! Very much worried about DTD and apart from the fact I really don't feel like it right now with the nausea, I won't be doing it until after the 12 week scan. This is purely my own super paranoia and I know loads of people who kept going throughout without giving it a second thought. However, we didn't do it last time either and when things went wrong I was really glad we hadn't because I would have been thinking "was it because we DTD". They do say that for most people there isn't a reason not to, but in certain situations you should stay away from it (and I don't think I will be reassured that there isn't a reason I shouldn't do it until I have seen all is OK at the 12 week scan). Like I say, purely my own crazy paranoia!

TobyLerone · 09/05/2013 10:13

Honestly, it's fine! They're 12 & 13 now and they actually get on a lot of the time Shock

As far as sex goes, I'm not nervous, but I'm feeling a bit crappy at the moment so it's not been that regular! Between the evening nausea, huge painful boobs and tonsillitis, I'm not hot :o

MTBMummy · 09/05/2013 10:39

Probably TMI - but is anyone else suffering from being really sweaty? I'm normally always freezing cold, but I'm really hot all of a sudden

laalaap · 09/05/2013 10:49

Hello i got a bfp on 4 tests! EDD is January 15th baby #1 not been to the doctors yet though to get it confimed!

BookTart · 09/05/2013 10:50

I'm being crazy again. Somebody give me a slap. I just can't believe that this backache and ovarian pain are normal - it feels like AF is on the way! Not much in the way of symptoms either. V. worried. Need to decide whether to cancel my fertility clinic appt next week as well. Help!

TobyLerone · 09/05/2013 10:58

Oh, book. It's so hard, isn't it? If only we all had a crystal ball and knew that everything would be ok.

How many weeks are you? Lots of us are still relatively symptom-free -- all I've had has been some cramping, knackeredness and sore boobs. A tiny bit of nausea in the evenings the last couple of days, and I'm one of the furthest along on the thread, I think? (6+1 today).

LittlePeaPod · 09/05/2013 11:01

Book. I am sure you are ok. But if you are really worried could you speak with your doctor? I don't have many symptoms too. We may just be lucky and not suffer but my SIL and another friend both started with their sysmptoms at about 7/8 weeks.... Try not to worry although I know how hard that is. I kept myself up most of the other night with worry.

Iaalap congratulations. I think 4 BFP are very conclusive. Flowers

Mummy I am the other way. Very cold but normally at night.

Gobbo thank you. Just glad to have you ladies to talk to. Great to be going through this with other ladies. [smle]. Wow you will be busy with you DH acquiring a surgery but good luck. Very very exciting times.

Just had a realisation. I am due to get married in September. If all goes well then I will be about 5 months... OMG what do I do about getting a wedding dress that will be ok in September?

Foodylicious · 09/05/2013 11:03

Book i was exactly where you are symptom wise a week ago and could absoltely contince myself all was wrong, mild hysteria just doesn't cover it! also thought i was feeling a bit less sicky and that my boobs were a bit less sore.
Boobs now huge and more sore and back ache and cramps settled down. I did another clearblue end of last week and it had moved on from 2-3wks to 3+ so I was reassured. Consider yourself a slapped with a wet fish and hugged symltaniously! Oh and i figured afterward that being really irrational actualy was a symptom! i was waiting of rmy FC appt and did not tell them i was pg, but i got a call to say they had a cancellation so had to let them know. You can always cancel your appt a couple of days before and they will give it to someone else, leave it for now if it makes you feel better. I forget how many wks are you?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 09/05/2013 11:04

book - I had that feeling all the time with DS. I remember being at work one day and I was so convinced AF was on the way. I kept thinking "we'll, that's it" and I was amazed when things kept progressing. I think it's a good sigh actually but it's so stressful so I sympathise

I had very mild nausea that came and went and I used to panic about that. I can assure you, I certainly didn't feel like that when it hit with a vengeance at 7 weeks and I could hardly lift my head off the pillow. I still don't know how I managed to drag myself in to work!

Foodylicious · 09/05/2013 11:07

hi toby happy 6+1 to you! me too!
littlepea congrats on the wedding! something high waisted? really have no idea, is this your 1st? you cant be the only one in this situ, maybe start a thread about weddings whilst pg.

TobyLerone · 09/05/2013 11:13

:o Foody

pod -- look here. They're gorgeous!

BookTart · 09/05/2013 11:15

Cheers everyone (and apologies for the dp, sneakily phone-posting at work!)
Toby I'm only 4+5 but had some nausea and sore nips at the weekend. Nothing atm though, but fingers crossed I'll be vomming along with the rest of you soon!
Pea unfortunately when I went to my doc about my cp last year he was so unhelpful that I made a formal complaint, so I'm not confident that they would be much use. I've not even told them I'm pg yet.
Cheers Foody and Gobbo - a slap with a haddock is definitely required!

CrabAppleTree · 09/05/2013 11:54

Hello again, I knew i would struggle to keep up with you all.

toby don't know where in the country you are but maybe look into NCT classes pre-12 weeks as they get v booked up. I didn't get on with DC1
I also met some nice Mummy friends via MN

encinta we are edd twins - I got my bfp then too. Grin

Had first bout of nausea/vomming today and feeling incredibly ditzy at the mo.

Worried because actually the night before I took the test I was saying to a mate, I really need to move everything up a gear with work and also housework - house is a tip. Blush

Have quite a lot on at work atm (hence procrastinating on MN this morning Hmm)

Haven't told anyone yet but there are talks about a big family birthday at the end of the year. thats not going to happen now....

Have made MW booking in appt for 20th may.

Am very impatient about all the waiting but at the same time REALLY anxious about how I am going to cope with being pregnant and working and dealing with the DC. DC1 wasn't even in preschool when I was pregnant before so mornings weren't a problem despite the vomming. I was very sick with DC2.

Saw a friend at school today with her newborn number 3. She was very late for school Grin and when I saw all 3 of them strapped in to the back of her car it rather brought it home

Argh.
Sorry for venting.

Hope you are all okay and glad to read that the crampy AF type pain is similar.

Hope to keep up a bit more.
Enjoy the sunshine (but keep your cardis on, it's chilly out there)

Halfbaked · 09/05/2013 11:58

Congrats to everyone and thanks for the welcome Flowers

book I only got period type pain with my first it felt like ages before any other symptoms. Don't worry you'll soon be feeling nice and nauseous!!

pea Congratulations I got married 6 months pregnant with DD and there are a few suppliers who specialise in maternity dresses. It's hard coz you don't know how big you are going to be. I think I went to bjornandme and the woman was fab, had been a midwife so really understood what I needed.

toby good luck with midwife appt.

I'm seeing the osteopath this afternoon and DM is looking after DD, so am planning to tell her too. I told everyone really quickly last time, but just feel a bit more cautious this time round.

TobyLerone · 09/05/2013 12:01

Hi Crab. Thanks for the advice. I'm doing NOTHING before 12 weeks! I'm squeezing my giant boobs into a bra they're escaping from on all sides, I'm not looking at equipment or clothes or even thinking of names. Deffo not joining the NCT yet! I'll have to take my chances. I've heard they get booked up quickly, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/05/2013 12:47

Toby good luck at the midwives today - or should that be midwife's?
Hope the tonsillitis goes away, I have that every other year and it's HELL.

pod and sunny yay for stats. I am not clever enough to do a stats fred, but someone suggested and I think it could be useful/fun?

sunny, sad and Toby - I am so relieved. I'd had the conversation with him in my head, trying to convince him and getting cross that maybe he would delay/say he wasn't convinced, and then he said 'yes, of course we do'! Grin. That'll learn me.

Sultanajo that's awful about the midwife before - I so hope you have a lovely one this time. When's your booking-in appt?

pansy oooh twins! That could be amazing! Strong lines are good - my ic this morning was pleasingly pink. I am sticking to my POAS daily routine - I have the ICs already, why not, eh? Makes me happy.

pod no, thank god. I read that Corsodyl is good for it, as well as brushing your gums and tongue v gently. Poor you, sounds grim. The wedding dresses Toby put the link to are LUSH though! You will look ace!

gobbo - I think you would look charming in a wig Grin. And you have not infected me, I only POAS once a day [polishing halo emoticon] and not on a posh stick, neither. Cheap stick peeing is my new hobby...

laalaap hello and congrats!

crab venting's what this fred is for, right? So we can all discuss our worries in minute detail without boring the pants off worrying other non-preggos with them? Don't apologise. FWIW, I am sure you will be fine, and will probably love having 3 (that is my ideal, btw!) and be brilliant at it. It's normal to have wobbles. You can do eet! [beret emoticon]

Temp - yes me too. Hot at night, cold in the day, sometimes BOILING first thing. No idea. Usually I am the coldest person ever - practically reptilian. It's quite nice not to need a blanket all year round!

Cramps - yes, me too, on an off since BFP. They are uterus expanding, and scary but VVVV exciting!

Phew! Not much to report, cannot wait to see GP tomorrow (although I know he will only book me into see the midwife, but I don't care, it's my first appt and I'm getting excited, so yah boo sucks! Tits hurt like BUGGERY today, and starving, but otherwise fine.

Frizz1986 · 09/05/2013 12:56

I just have dull cramps myself and sometimes sharper pains a bit like af cramps. Oh and I pee every hour! Have started to feel sick at 10pm for the past 2 nights tho. Every time I go to the toilet I am bracing myself for af as just can't believe it is happening.
Am only 4+6 tho so still lots of stuff to come.
Dh is still in shock as only got hitched 5 weeks ago and we were convinced it would take forever but guess we have been lucky (so far)
It's so nice being able to read such reassuring comments as it's my first and I have no idea what to expect or how to feel.
Currently my body just feels a little weird!
