Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm not worrying too much about the BP Beaut as I do think it was a blip - there was an aggressive bloke in the waiting room next to me swearing a lot about how long they'd been waiting, calling people twats nder his breath if anyone dared to turn around and look at him - more bothered that no one noticed it was a lot higher than usual. It's more I think about not having the baby's heartbeat checked from between 36-40w. You're right though, I should just ask to have it done when I do have someone ring me back.

The homebirth thing I don't want if baby is big again (I had a bit of a PPH with DS and it's more likely with a big baby) but if it's an average size baby like the dr seems to think then I do want a homebirth. It's the not having any clarity anymore that upsetting me.

The hospital issue I can't quite explain. It's not to do with the appointment yesterday as such - I've had crappy dr appts before and it's not bothered me - it was more a feeling. I just didn't feel comfortable there. And the idea of delivering the baby there makes me feel anxious. I really don't know why. I feel like I'd be happier at the other hospital and things like patient hotels don't make up for that feeling. But everyone who i speak to mother and birth partners have all had great experiences there. I don't want to be worrying about shite like this. I just feel silly :(

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/04/2013 14:43

You shouldn't feel silly at all. Gosh we all on here know how daunting labour is at the best of times. You need to feel comfortable as you don't need any extra worry as you will need all your energy for the task at hand.

Have they not offered you a scan to get a more accurate estimate of babies weight? Again something I would ask midwife. If you want a home birth and discuss your issues for being dubious due to size of baby then they should accommodate that and offer to check the size accurately. You are in control.

I'm loving our new neighbours went in for a coffee and chat yesterday and she told me her baby was 11lb 12oz at birth and his size was never picked up. Wow medal for her. She had an easy straight forward birth with no stitches or anything. Smile

babygeek · 25/04/2013 14:46

Thinking of you Bood, all the best and looking forward to more cute baby pics very shortly Smile

Beaut, sorry to hear about your test. They are pretty stressful and maybe it will actually be easier next time as the pressure is off? Brew

Terracotta, if you are going for a home birth then perhaps you can ask to have another ultrasound so they can check baby's position? Might have a better idea of size then as well to ease your mind.

I am a fan of the name Jessica as well, DP not so much Hmm

Working from home today as i had a MW appt earlier but struggling to focus, argh.

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/04/2013 14:47

I'm not trying to say you will have a big baby by the way just that if they have concerns due to your last baby then they should be checking it out properly this time not just saying I don't think baby will be big. Everyone thinks mines going to be huge(friends and family) but midwife and private scan both predict 7 lb 7oz. We will see. Ds1 was predicted at 4lb 7oz max. The midwife was very concerned but he was 6lb 6oz at birth 39+6

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/04/2013 14:50

rachywhite83 · 25/04/2013 15:45

We have chosen Florence or Florrie for short with May as a 2nd name x

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/04/2013 15:54

Rachy Thats lovely. It was top of our list that and Elodie. We definitely won't be having anymore though and I'm hoping that all the scans have been right as everything I have is blue Smile

Boodstress · 25/04/2013 16:35

Congratulations bood! Hope you can get some rest and enjoy cuddles!

ng1412 · 25/04/2013 18:45

I wish my c section would hurry up! Spent day with my active toddler DD who decided she wasn't going to sleep or rest so I have been playing with her non stop for 8 hours. Major tantrums at lunch which lasted 3 hours.

I am so tired. I just tried to snatch five mins in the sun as she was having dinner with her daddy but she wanted to come out so I had to come back in.

Wowzers roll on hospital stay so I can have a rest!

scooby26 · 25/04/2013 18:45

Bood- congratulations! Glad all well !

Beaut- soz re test- it was a lot to take on... Can you get a cancellation?

Terracotta- know how you feel- I have been wholly unconvinced re hospital after issues last time. We have a new midwife unit opened since last time which I have been to see and now I'm deemed not to have strep I can go there... I visited as week and feel a b happier. Yo have to be happy... Is not too ate to change hospital- but decide ASAP In case is early! The possible baby size is just a guess even with a scan.. If its a worry for you bear n mind most babies are bigger than their sibling.....take that into consideration...

36w tomorrow...

ng1412 · 25/04/2013 18:45

Sorry welcome shelli!

CluelessNewbie1 · 25/04/2013 19:24

Congratulations Bood

Bunnychan · 25/04/2013 19:55

Right-
Congrats Bood- looked at the fb pic and she is gorgeous!
Terra- I know how you feel about the hospital- I went on the tour yesterday and I've not been feeling too nervous about the birth but now I'm frightened of how clinical the hospital seems! I've never been in overnight before and now I'm scared!
Hi Shelli
Beaut- There were some lovely and usual names there!

Can't believe I've still got more weeks to get through at work! I'm starting to get fat each night now :-(
X

Bunnychan · 25/04/2013 19:55

Sorry- unusual names!

DXBMermaid · 25/04/2013 20:08

Congratulations Bood! Lovely name and it will be lots of fun buying lots of lovely dresses for Alice. Hope you will be pain free soon!

Welcome Shelli, I'm also due on the 22nd. Less then 4 weeks to go! Eek!

Beaut, sorry to hear about your test. Hopefully next time you'll pass with flying colours.

Terra, I also wouldn't like to not be checked during the last four weeks. I am finding it very reassuring to see the Dr every week at this point. Well done by the way for sticking up for yourself with regards to GTT.

Every time I have my BP meassured it starts off at 140/90 then within minutes it goes down to 125/75 and then drops again to 120/70. No idea why, maybe I'm just really nervous every time ?

I should not have put the comment about not having had any BH yet as they've pretty much been coming and going all day long. Moved to my back as well which was quite painful, but now I'm in bed after a warm shower and they've gone again...

BeauticianNotMagician · 25/04/2013 20:08

Bunny when are you giving up work ? How many weeks are you? I couldn't have continued at work now I'm just too tired. Yes I like unusual names. I hate to have anything that I regularly hear screeched across the school playground. I have changed a bit as got older and like some of the more classic names now but they just wouldn't go with the two boys names. Smile

MammaBrussels · 25/04/2013 21:13

Well done Bood' she's absolutely gorgeous.

Sorry about the driving test Beaut, they say all the best drivers pass second time round anyway.

NG DS has been a bit mental today. Are toddlers solar powered?
