Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GeoffVader · 13/05/2013 07:38

I was due 4 days ago mwncigirl Grin (I am SecretCervix according to the stats list and most recently pregnantpain)

Not even a twinge since day before due date. Gr.

Someone send me some labour vibes!! :o

ng1412 · 13/05/2013 08:06

Not due till Sunday but was hoping baby would come early seeing as it is my second. But not a whisper since losing my plug on Friday. Boo hoo.

Have appt at hospital tomorrow to go through procedure for C section on Wednesday. Looks like that will be happening now. DH has gone to work today so am with my parents if anything should happen. Dad is a little nervous....

Hope we have some more group success today, keeping my fingers crossed for all those of you who are over due or due!

NoForkNKnife · 13/05/2013 08:29

Congrats to the new mummies. And good luck all those with bumps. Fingers crossed for this weeks for you x

Bunnychan · 13/05/2013 09:35

Good luck DDay ladies!
DXB I'm sleeping terrible- I'm starting a 3am club because I sleep well until 3 then I'm wide awake until 5 when I sleep well again. At 4 this morning I had to get up and make cereal as I was famished lol!
It's my first official day of maternity leave and I'm going out for lunch, followed by a nice long walk to try and get baby to engage and get things moving. I'm 38+ 4 and I don't think bump has dropped, I've had no show or anything and I desperately don't want the baby to be late (so it probably will be lol).

tasmaniandevilchaser · 13/05/2013 10:03

I'm with those overdue and waiting, I can feel the desperation in everyone's posts! Someone said to me that every day overdue feels like a week, so true for me. At this rate DS will be later than Dd was!

Good luck to those in hospital and to you arti too
Hope we get some more babies today Smile

beaver33 · 13/05/2013 10:10

Due date - bring out the confetti and balloons....!

mwncigirl I think it must be me, you and MammaBrussels due today (although may have missed someone out) and I think sparklingelephant is due to be induced today from the FB thread so we could be in for a bumper crop!

Am now on day 3 of contractions and the second night without much sleep. DH has gone to work as there's frankly no point in him hanging around here with me unless something properly kicks off.

On the sofa with a hot water bottle and my phone to hand....

BeauticianNotMagician · 13/05/2013 10:17

Hey Five So good to see your post. Congratulations.

Aber Congratulations. Hope you are both doing well.

Arti Good luck with whatever you decide today. Hope your day goes well.

Well its ds2s 7th birthday today. He came into my room this morning and I said 'Happy Birthday gorgeous boy' his immediate response 'Mummy you don't got any pains do you'. Aww bless him.

39+4

BeauticianNotMagician · 13/05/2013 10:21

Beaver really hope things progress for you today. Have you tried anything to get contractions more regular. With ds2 I went for a walk which worked almost immediately although I wouldn't recommended it on your own. Perhaps stair climbing I did that with ds1 as laboured slowly both times. You don't need to exhaust yourself. But I'm sure at the moment you can't really relax anyway.

mwncigirl · 13/05/2013 10:28

Oh beaver u must be exhausted already. Don't forget to eat and drink (and wee!) and try and co serve your energy. I was similar with DS1 and ended up going round tesco with contractions! At least you know with every pain you are closed to meeting your baby Grin
This waiting is driving me nuts. I was early with DS1 and never thought I would make it to due date.

beaver33 · 13/05/2013 10:57

Cheers chaps. Beaut I haven't been able to do much, really - def don't want to go out for a walk on my own as the contractions are quite leg buckling when I do get them. So might wait until DH comes home later. But the stairs are a good idea. Am finding I need to be leaning forward on a birthing ball to be comfortable anyway, so I don't think full labour is far away and kick-starting it feels terrifying now. Have a pineapple and some raspberry leaf tea and will waddle around the house, I guess...

mwncigirl I went round Tesco on Sat morning with contractions! Someone else was saying they'd done that too. Must be a desperate attempt to get things done!

I tell you what, peeing is now the most painful thing to do. It must be something to do with the position of LO, but sitting on the loo gives me pains which are worse than contractions. Have found my thighs are really painful so the loo seat pressing on them is excruciating. Have been standing up to wee...Blush

BeauticianNotMagician · 13/05/2013 11:07

Beaver If your really achey run a bath. Just keep topping it up with warm water. In early labour a bath is really soothing. I didn't try it first time but did the second time which is why this time I want to try for a water birth. You may well find that when you get out the contractions have ramped up. I didn't realise how strong mine had got with ds2 until my sister had to help me out the bath.

I feel for you. With your first its hard when its slow. I think you just imagine labour as waters breaking, contractions starting, baby. Well that's what I thought with my first Blush Dont be disheartened everyone is different. I've always moaned about my long labours but they really weren't that bad as no matter how long it takes the end result is worth it. Friends have said the quick labours can be equally as uncomfortable as the body goes into shock a bit.

LittleSpade · 13/05/2013 11:19

Hi all. Not posted for a while. Congrats to all the new arrivals and fingers crossed for those of you due today.

I was due yesterday. Never thought I'd get to being overdue as everyone including my midwife had previously thought baby would be early as it started descending/engaging early. Have been eating pineapple when I remember and walking everyday and went for a curry last night but nothing. Had lots of low pressure and some occassional crampy pains over the last week but nothing that's lasted or progressed.

Saw midwife this morning and had a sweep so we'll see if that kicks anything off. It was uncomfortable but didn't hurt as such. She confirmed baby is low but I'm not dilated at all. Fingers crossed for progress.

BeauticianNotMagician · 13/05/2013 11:28

LittleSpade Hope something happens for you soon. I've always been in Labour a couple of days before my due date.So that would put the start for me at tomorrow evening if I follow the same pattern. However, I have a feeling this time like you I will be posting on Friday the day after my due date still with no sign. Will be strange if I reach induction stage as never have before Smile

BeauticianNotMagician · 13/05/2013 11:30

Can you all tell I'm not busy todayGrin I'm trying to relax all day and keep my mind off it all. We have a meal for ds2 later so that should be nice

tasmaniandevilchaser · 13/05/2013 11:38

Littlespade! Hello, I was wondering where you'd got to. Hope you're not waiting too long.

Beaver, hope it's not too long now.

Nothing happening here except for wind..... but my neighbour who is a midwife is back from hols so if mini tas decides to make a quick arrival, at least I can screech for her! Tho I'm fully expecting to go the full 2 wks and be induced again. Sigh.

MammaBrussels · 13/05/2013 13:04

Beaver, it sounds like things are slowly but surely progressing for you, hope things move along a bit faster now. Is my EDD today and nothing. Had a monitoring appt at hospital - 30mins strapped to monitor, no contractions. Then a Drs appt, not effaced, not dilated, not engaged. I am so frustrated.

TerracottaPie · 13/05/2013 13:06

Hi littlespade I was wondering how you were doing too :)

tas I think we seem to be following the same path! No signs either and also fully expecting to end up down induction route!

I've stopped (mostly) symptom watching and just trying to relax about impending labour. Just pottering around my house doing the odd bit of cleaning, washing and looking after DS.

I have however started symptom watching a cow :o

When she's goes into labour then so will I, I have decided! She was due on the 10th and it's her last one. My dad is a farmer and on the day DS was born so was a calf. Dad even gave the calf the same name as DS!

This time a different cow is due around the same time as me. Her name is Clover 2 (she's the daughter of the original Clover who was my cow as a teenager, so she's special) and it's nicely distracting waiting to see if she's going into labour rather than waiting for me to!

I sound barmy now don't I? :o

Keeping fingers crossed for you beaver

InNeedofSomeSleep · 13/05/2013 14:03

Terra I love the cow story.

Hope everyone in labour is doing ok. I keep getting shooting pains down there not comfortable at all but I have midwife later so hopefully she can tell me why. I am try everything to get this baby moving curry, walking, sex I don't think she is gonna budge.

So nice seeing all the new borns making the waiting go faster. 12 days at the most now until baby is here. Yay!!

shelly81 · 13/05/2013 15:00

Well ladies ... I've done it I've resorted to sex to try n shift baba Hmm not convinced it will work but willing to give it a try ... And have to say didn't enjoy at all sorry for the TMI lol x

tasmaniandevilchaser · 13/05/2013 16:33

Terracotta, love the cow story! Maybe there is something in the air, inter species hormonal...something. Wonder if it will waft down to London?!

I'm resorting to sex tonight as well, sigh. It didn't work when I was pg with DD, but I am desperate now.

TerracottaPie · 13/05/2013 16:35

That's on my list for tomorrow shelly! And Thursday too if no luck.

And I'm not looking forward to it :o

With DC2 it was horrible but I was in labour about 4 hours later. With DC3 it was just horrible with no nice end result!

ButteryJam · 13/05/2013 17:02

Saw the midwife today and said baby was 1/5 engaged! No idea whether that is a good sign or not, but hopefully it is!

I also need to try sex (is it easier than going for a long walk? lol). I just feel like I'd be using poor DH ... Hmm

Feel nesting is going on too, but still got loads to do! Need to make some meals to freeze still ...

babygeek · 13/05/2013 17:57

DP and I gave it a go too, will see what happens...might try a walk later as well but I don't think I could manage a curry with the heartburn consequences Confused as much as I would love one.

I didn't mind it too much but DP mentioned he felt a bit used hehe.

DXBMermaid · 13/05/2013 18:02

Saw Gyne today again. Blood pressure has been high at the start of almost all my appointments and dropped down after seeing the Dr, but today they found some protein traces as well. Dr said it could be from contamination, contamination from what?? Anyway they took some blood to test for preeclampsia so we will see. Am guessing if they find I have it, they will push to induce :(

She also went through my birth plan of which I was rather proud, but other then a couple of things that I hadn't considered she had no comments. Such a cold fish this lady.

Oh well, off to the pool for a little float to take the weight from the bump off.

InNeedofSomeSleep · 13/05/2013 18:49

Mermaid the protein in the wee thing I had that every appointment in my 1st pregnancy they reckon it's coz I had alot of discharge. (sorry tmi) and the best time to do a sample is straight after a shower.

Had my midwife appointment, I'm only 3/5 engaged which is poop sweep booked for next Thursday and then induction booked for the sat 26th if no baby by then. Really hope it doesn't go that far. I had high blood pressure and glucose in my wee today and bump has stayed the same size again, why am i worried about this and the midwife wasn't.

Have a really achey back this evening and feeling sick so hopefully that is the start of something.

Due date tomorrow!
