Welcome back all June-ers, just realised we were about to run out of space on the old thread.

forgetmenots · 29/04/2013 18:54

So, so sorry pink. I hope you have family/friends around you. Flowers

forgetmenots · 29/04/2013 18:56

Ok, yesterday and today my ankles and feet have swollen up - I've been on my feet a lot more the past week or so, bp and urine was tested on Wednesday and was fine... Any tips for relieving the swelling? Ankles look like they're sprained!

Cycle I've just seen your post, hope all is well now.

SunnyL · 29/04/2013 19:07

Aw Pink that is rotten. DH is a policeman and says he would hope that if your fella is a good guy and they take into account extenuating circumstances he imagines your DP might be out in 1-2 months if they put a tag on him. After all look at Chris Huhne and his wife. Feel for you love Flowers

learnermummy · 29/04/2013 19:14

Oh pinkbear so sorry to hear that. Hope it passes quickly for you Hmm.

As for sizes of clothes my first was 7 pounds and I ended up sending DH out or tiny baby as newborn was too big. Even my 9pound7 number 2 was in newborn at first. Have been washing clothes here and can't believe how tiny the newborn stuff is though, am so used to my big (nearly 4 year old) baby is.

pinkbear82 · 29/04/2013 19:19

thank you all! got wonderful parents who will support and step in. lovely friends who if I just remember not to be stubborn will help with lots. and in laws I must remember to include.

still a bit numb, have a feeling when I get back and see my mum it'll all
come out.

his barrister did mention tagging and that that could reduce the sentence
but don't think she wanted to get hopes up too much.

at the moment I'm going from despair to wanting to batter him when he does get out.

Shock at the big babies..... you ladies are far braver than me.

redwellybluewelly · 29/04/2013 19:32

pink I'm so sorry, sending Thanks as I imagine it is going to to be an emotional roller coaster x

Big babies seem to be where we're heading too, MW thinks bump has calmed down, measuring just a week ahead, but baby is big (can apparently tell from its bottom!) growth scan tomorrow when I move to high risk consultant led care. The last scan I had with DD put her at 8.5lb and she arrived at under 7lb, so I'm washing vests and babygros from small baby, newborn, and 0-3!

Went and bought nice blackout curtains to finish off baby's room today, hung them up and there are holes in the liner. So annoying. Now have to go back tomorrow and we were so so close to finishing!

pinkapples · 29/04/2013 20:23

Sorry to hear that pinkbear but hopefully the time will pass and as others have said he may be out on good behaviour so fingers crossed for you Thanks

I've got 3 baby grows and 3 sleep suits plus jumper for baby as hoping not to be in that long do you think I should pack more (also have mits hat boots etc) not much movement either but maybe it's just the space in there have felt a couple of jabs in the ribs maybe its cuz I'm on the move all day as well I'm having a bath now then ice lolly and tv with hubby so that may induce a few more kicks

DontmindifIdo · 29/04/2013 20:49

pinkbear -so sorry to hear your news, at least your DP will be back when your baby is only under 2 months old (with good behaviour) - a lot of dads in the armed forces don't see their DCs until they are 3-4 months old and do bond well.

Steffanoid · 29/04/2013 21:15

They've just said we're going to continue on the pathway, seeing mw tomorrow who might review and then another growth scan with consultant at 36 weeks, it's reassuring, might take the tiny baby clothes out of the hospital bag though! Doesn't help that my hips are killing me, think this beast may be why, the nurse in day assessment said I've got to keep my knees together getting in and out of bed/car, 1 step at a time going up and downstairs and not to get in/out of bath or shower alone, DP is rushing to open doors for me and not let me do anything,
His measurements and plot are all quite a bit above90%ile if you go right til you get to the line for 90% he's at about 38 weeks, really don't think he's gonna last till the edd, making sure labour bag is all packed and waiting in the car tomorrow cause I have the ominous feeling its gonna sooner rather than later for his arrival

Steffanoid · 29/04/2013 21:19

Pink, with any luck the time will go quickly till your DP is out again,
cycle, I think I'm feeling phantom cramps since we've had all this prodding and poking over the weekend think its all in my mind though haha

AlohaMama · 29/04/2013 21:21

Glad you're having another scan steff, at least that way you'll be able to prepare and presumably make an informed decision if they offer induction or cs. At 9lb1oz my ds still wore newborn clothes for the first week or two. Sorry to hear about all the pain, but glad DP is looking after you!

Off to my growth scan in half an hour, will let you all know how it goes!

Sunbeam18 · 29/04/2013 21:22

Steff, am really laughing at your reference to 'this beast'!

Pinkbear, so sorry to hear today went badly for you - cant imagine the mixture of emotions you must be feeling. Sending hugs and support x

Steffanoid · 29/04/2013 22:12

That's because he is a beast sunbeam! Am rather glad I've been off work for 2 weeks already ( have used all my holidays) I've still got my newborn stuff in my bag, think the tiny baby stuff is getting a little redundant should have seen it coming, I was nearly 10lb (im tall too, about 5'11) when I was born and DP was 8lb something, think I'm gonna have to start with encouraging him to come before he really does turn into a beast, think hell be in his first rugby kit before too long

maisiebeem · 29/04/2013 23:18

Hey everyone, ive just had alot to catch up on! hope you lovely ladies are doing ok, can't believe how quickly time is going! Saw my mw today, and wrote our birth plan! Aaahhh!
Pink- sad to hear that, fingers crossed wont be for too long,
Steff- tip for getting in and out the car- sit on a plastic bag! You can then easily swivel, without having to separate your legs!
I've only got 4 days of work left now, all becoming far more real, baby's room is getting decorated next week hopefully (had to delay it as found big damp patch behind the wardrobe, then when we had to find out where that was coming from- thought it was a blocked gutter, but no- had to have the roof re-tiled! So lots o money later, and we're back on track!). I'm debating painting a mural myself, stencilling or buying stickers for the wall.
Finding hospital bag talk very useful, bought some lucozade to put in mine today- as recommended by my mw, hate the stuff but apparently gives that sugar/energy you might need.
Hadn't even thought about sheets for the pushchair! Can anyone recommend a waterproof sheet or mattress protector for a stokke cot?

AlohaMama · 30/04/2013 00:37

I can't believe so many of you are nearly done with work, I'm so jealous!

Just back from my scan, baby is 4lb2oz at 32 weeks, so 50%ile ish. So happy, no giant babies for me. And definitely confirmed she is still a girl which is a relief.

MrsBri · 30/04/2013 06:57

Morning!

Cycle, how are you today? Any more cramps / pinky liquid / a baby?! Hope you're ok.

Steff, that's a big baby! Hopefully it isn't accurate. They often aren't. My sister was told her first was utterly massive and while he was almost 10lb, he was a few pounds off their estimate!

I'm in the office for the last time today. Getting up at 5.45 was a challenge and poor baby is baffled as to why I've disturbed him so early! Hopefully he will go back to sleep soon. No doubt I'll be ready for a nap at about the time I have my meeting with my training principal!

Have a nice day everyone!

Pink - hope your family are looking after you and that best case scenario your partner is let out ASAP on tag.

Cycle - everything feeling better today?

Steff - holy shit. That's big!

I've just done a really bad job undercoating the frame of a mirror. So bad. Left it out the front to dry, hopefully it'll get stolen! Man out the back is installing the fancy new decking in our minuscule backyard, I've washed out the kitchen bin and done a load of washing. 11am and time for a sleep I reckon. No idea how you're supposed to get anything done when medical advice is to sit still,I'd go utterly mental but trying to do things slowly and thus keep the whole BP/liver function/protein pee issue under control till I see the midwife on Thursday.

I feel SO EFFING FAT. Everything makes me puffed out, I grunt and groan every time I have too turn or bend over. And, tmi I'm afraid, I'd not at all anticipated the struggle in attempting to reach my own arse after a visit to the loo. Ffs.

Other than that all tickety boo this side of London, v glad not to be going into the office again this week. Yesterday's commute nearly did me in. Four more office days left, 8 more working days. Cripes.

arlandria666 · 30/04/2013 11:15

rang midwife this morning because my feet and hands felt overly big she found protein in my urine and my blood pressure high :-(
got to go in to be assessed hope everything is okay i know someone else on here had to go in but my phone doesn't let me look back properly how long will they keep me does anyone know? my husband is coming with me hope they don't keep me too long and everything is okay x x

learnermummy · 30/04/2013 11:33

Hope all ok arlandria Flowers. Glad all these midwives are taking good care of everyone. Make sure they assess you properly, PE is not fun.

Sunbeam18 · 30/04/2013 11:36

Oli, that made me laugh! I hear you re the wiping of the ass! Its a bit tricky, and is only going to get worse. And that is just NOT a job that can be delegated...,

ginauk84 · 30/04/2013 13:08

I finish work 7th June and due on 27th. Have been off work today and yesterday with a trapped nerve in my shoulder and am soooo bored I don't know how am going to cope when I break up, hope she's on time or early! Lol

cyclecamper · 30/04/2013 13:17

Back in the maternal assessment unit. They think my waters are leaking but there is still plenty round the baby. I'm waiting to see a doctor to see what the plan is.

DontmindifIdo · 30/04/2013 13:22

Arlandria - hope you are ok.

I've just got back from seeing the consultant, I had a different one this time round and he was so pro-section it was really surprising! He told me that in his mind a ELCS was the safer option, that I obviously had done my homework and it's all booked in.

Rather oddly, that means I have an appointment to give birth now - 4th June. Now, DS arrived at 38 weeks, and they've booked me in for 39 weeks, but still, while I might be early, I now know I'll be a mum of two by 4th June.

DontmindifIdo · 30/04/2013 13:22

oh cycle, good luck, hope it's ok.
