It just won't work! www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0113-9853-155L000&productvarid=0113-9853-155L000-BLACK IVORY-12&refpage=dresses

badguider · 02/04/2013 13:25

purple - i haven't bought or acquired or ordered anything either. (except a campervan which is on order Grin)

I am planning to buy some essentials around a month before and save most shopping till after the birth.

I reckon that a carseat, somewhere for him/her to sleep, a few babygrows and some nappies, breastpads, maternity pads and lanisoh is probably all I absolutely must have to start with??
Pushchair might be the other pre-birth purchase for convenience and/or a sling/carrier but I reckon everything else can wait... can't it????

badguider · 02/04/2013 13:28

Is this it purple? IVORY-12&refpage=dresses

I am also wearing pre-pregnancy fat-face dresses, many are a little bit flared from below the bust, I just need to add a vest underneath to hide my massive bossoms!

badguider · 02/04/2013 13:29

arrghhh.... Grin

LexyMa · 02/04/2013 13:47

I bought this in blue in the sale before Christmas when I knew I would be wearing looser clothes and wanted to introduce new styles early to throw people off the scent!!! Also another one I can't currently find but also from phase eight.

Isabella Oliver have some really nice dresses that can be good for work too. I initially promised myself that I was going to steer clear of IO as they are quite expensive, but after struggling so much to find nice mat wear in a small size I caved and ordered a top from them- complete convert!
I've decided I'd rather have less stuff but that was really really nice rather than lots of baggy tat.

Just had a cramp come on in my left side since I started typing this- quite sore!!! Let go baby!

frog wishing you lots of luck for today! Can't wait to hear your news!

badguider · 02/04/2013 13:53

that phase8 dress is lovely - but i'd need to wear something under it to cover my clevage for work!!

frogchops · 02/04/2013 15:23

Am out of clinic and stuck on motorway.... Scan was just lovely, strong 151 bpm heartbeat and clinician said all looked fine. Was really impressed with the clinic, very professional, three people there to do scan, she took her time, looked at all measurements that would be done at 20 weeks and gave us a DVD of the scan. And most importantly said were having a boy!! Smile

weebarra · 02/04/2013 15:36

Lovely news Frog, so glad it all went well for you.

jemimahpuddleduck · 02/04/2013 15:45

So glad everything went well frog and congrats on your little boy!!! How exciting Smile

frogchops · 02/04/2013 15:49

Not that the sex was most important...obv making sure he's ok was most important. But ykwim!
My lovely aqua coloured pram is just perfect now!

JammyTummy · 02/04/2013 16:05

Great news frog! And congrats on the little boy!!!

juniper9 · 02/04/2013 16:46

I haven't bought anything yet either. We're going to try and buy somewhere before September, but we don't know where we'll be based in London as DP has interviews this week, and has to state which boroughs he'd want to work in. Then, based on his point scoring, we might get something we want or we might not! No pressure on him then... consequently, I don't want to buy baby stuff if if means it has to move house with us.

Also, I don't know if my sister is planning on giving me any of her old stuff, and she hasn't been very happy about my pregnancy so I don't want to ask directly. I was hoping she'd offer a few things, but I'm going to plan on getting things myself.

fl0b0t · 02/04/2013 17:10

Great news frog!

With all the lovely maternity clothes I've been donated, the best stuff so far (of all things) has been a lovely jojomamanbebe orwhatever their stupid name is top (gorgeous soft fabric and beautifully cut) and bizzarely Newlook stuff! I don't often busy stuff in new look seeing as it's all tiny, cheap fabric and see through, but I popped in at lunch today and there were loads of lovely things in there, including (yes really) nice, comfy black skinny maternity jeans! Accidentally spent a little bit of money, including a tight aztec print dress which make my bump look huge-mungeous!

nerual · 02/04/2013 17:20

congrats frog, all sounding very positive!

Kittenkatzen · 02/04/2013 17:41

Great news frog, and a lovely blue bump! Smile

kipsonline · 02/04/2013 17:44

Woo hoo great news frog! Phew...

Our 20wk scan is a week today now... Bring it on!!

I would echo caution re nappies. We found pampers new baby great but Huggies leaked every time?!

I expressed for 1 bottle every day for both boys for 15 months and used medala swing. Again, best to see how you go to see if you need it first as expensive bit of kit...

Exciting thinking about baby purchases again!!

Dorita75 · 02/04/2013 18:29

Great news frog

Thanks for link lexy

flobot we've been 'paying' people in bottles of wine and beer but my SIL isn't drinking at the moment and refused money, so I'm going to get her a gift voucher for somewhere.

Creamtea1 · 02/04/2013 18:41

Great news frog really glad it went well :)

LexyMa · 02/04/2013 19:20

BinarySolo · 02/04/2013 19:35

Great news frog. Boys are awesome! Now you can think about names.

frogchops · 02/04/2013 21:11

I'm actually still quite suprised I have a blue bump.... Everyone I know was sure it was a girl. It was only me that wasn't so sure. I just can't imagine myself with a boy now after 15 weeks of expecting pink news! Although everyone says boys are best!!

JoCheshire10 · 02/04/2013 21:32

Really useful to listen to what everyone is buying-we're moving house in about June/July so planning to start buying in summer sales (or that's the theory) Smile

Ion-starting to get a complex about my bump, getting sick of people telling me its big. Someone said today that 'it's the biggest bump they've ever seen on someone who's so early in their pregnancy-especially a first baby', I joked about 'hoping there's only one in there' but think I'll mention to the Midwife not to mention the rudeness of some people! I wouldn't comment on anyone's size of anything!!

....sorry rant over Smile

Creamtea1 · 02/04/2013 21:48

jo I know it's hard but try to ignore all the rude comments. I am astounded at how rude some people actually are, and how they think it's acceptable to just discuss your body right in front of you and it's ok just because you're pregnant Angry
For example, if you hasn't seen someone for 4 months, and when you did you noticed they had put on a bit of weight, you wouldn't say to them 'ooh you've put on a few pounds haven't you??' !! So why is it ok to comment on a pregnant ladies tummy/size/bum etc!

juniper9 · 02/04/2013 22:14

JoCheshire10 I'm getting the opposite- people keep saying "you don't look pregnant" like I'm trying to trick them or something.

ION, I bought that steriliser kit from Amazon even though I said I wasn't buying anything until after we move house. A deal is a deal!
