Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

How many more babies will this thread see?

KelleStar · 26/04/2013 08:53

7.30ish baby boy arrived, unnamed, 7lb 7oz of trouble :) feeling knackered, it was going too swiftly causing distress so they gave me something to stop the contractions, then they had to give me something to speed them up as they stopped and baby was still in distress. Feel like a bloody amazon though and so in love already even though he pee'd on me twice!

num3onway · 26/04/2013 09:18

Well come Kelle! Nice short labour for you!

Congrats enjay!

helens82 · 26/04/2013 12:17

congratulations to Kelle and enjay. Yet more babies!

I'm feeling quite a bit better today and MIL arrives this afternoon. Can be difficult due to slightly different opinions (!) but will be great to have help with toddler so that I can try to get some ret.

Just wondered whether anyone had been given advice for postnatal exercises, especially after cesearean?

JaquelineHyde · 26/04/2013 13:09

Afternoon ladies congratulations kelle and enjay the pictures are gorgeous!

Still nothing happening here other than yesterday the baby appeared to have left my pelvis and was right back up in my ribs wriggling around...the little sod!

Although I have just realised whilst typing this that not only did I sleep through the night last night but also I haven't felt any movement for the baby since getting up. Hmm think I had better go and lie down and have a fizzy drink and get him moving around a bit.

Good luck with the inductions that are planned today, fingers crossed everything goes as smoothly as possible...roll on Tuesday for mine Grin

SneezySnatcher · 26/04/2013 14:07

Hope the drink gets him moving JH

Kelle I've lost count of how many times I've been pee'd on! Sill not got the hang of boys' nappies after 13 days! I didn't know how easy we had it with DD!

JaquelineHyde · 26/04/2013 14:26

Got him moving about Smile

All of you with boys if you want to avoid being peed on pop a little cotton wool ball on the end of his willie when changing and that will stop the fly away hose pipe effect Grin

Rivergirly · 26/04/2013 14:42

Hi all

Congrats to all whose babies have arrived - too many to name since I was last on!!

Not been on for a few days as I was getting so fed up with our lo not putting in an appearance.

Been to see midwife today and she has decided that after 6 weeks of measuring 36 weeks we are now at 40 - also taken the decision that the 18th April was a more accurate due date for us but still makes me 40 +8. Decided not to have a sweep today as it made little difference with my previous 2 pregnancies - still had to be induced! So now we are booked to be induced on 4th May - going in at 7pm!!! Little bit :0 though as she said induction should be 14 days after due date but this still works out to 16 days after 18th April - thinking I should ring someone and check this is correct as it still seems like a long way to wait. Just hoping my waters break now as with ds2 and they have to admit me then!!

So so fed up now - the only positive in the whole situation is that my 2 boys will be at their dads on the evening of my induction so at least I won't have to worry about that!

Can't believe we are now looking at a May baby - at this rate she could put in an appearance on her dad's birthday!

KelleStar · 26/04/2013 16:39

JH bump was up high and back to back when I went to bed. Was looking forward to a sweep this morning. They said I wasn't mad, lying on your left can make contractions more effective, so surprised when my waters went, soaked, bed and duvet, carpet in the bedroom, down the stairs, kitchen and loo. It was cascading Shock but turns out I had two membranes and two lots of waters.

Home within 3 hours. An emotional reunion with DD who is ever so impressed with him.

Still not sure about a name though...

jj247 · 26/04/2013 17:13

Wow kelle can't believe you've been in had your baby and home already, what s difference a day makes!
river and jh feel like we're the last ones standing! I went to a bumps and babies group this morning with the rest of my nct group, their youngest is now 5 weeks so I'm feeling decidedly behind all round. Then I got a call from the labour Ward to say they can't fit me in tomorrow, they have bumped me back until Sunday. Relieved because I'd still like bean to arrive of own accord but on flip bean has been much less wiggly last night and today, I have just also been lying down after drinking a pint of cold squash. Some movement but still not like the past few days when he/she had been hyper... Am in quite a lot of discomfort higher up on my bump too, really tight and some cramping. Hoping it all means bean is heading out but worried things are going wrong right at the end Confused
I guess those of us left have all just had enough of being pg now and really want to meet our babies Smile ♥♥

Ollibobs · 26/04/2013 19:21

Wow! So many babies have arrived! Congratulations to all the new mummies!

I'm 40+2 and properly fed up. I'm super uncomfortable and actually feel tearful with the frustration of it all... I never knew that being overdue would be so difficult. Hmm
Sorry to moan, but I can't help it. I just want to meet my baby now! Argh!Confused

jj247 · 26/04/2013 19:31

olli I think we're all feeling the same, I'm sure it will all pale into insignificance very soon but at the moment it feels pretty lousy! I'm retreating into a recluse and a grumpy one at that as I'm getting fairly sock of all the "any news?" messages. I logically know it is lovely that everyone is so excited but I just want leaving alone.
Big hugs to all the mums to be xxx

CheeseAndMushroomToastie · 26/04/2013 21:09

Just coming on to wish all of you waiting to meet your babies a quick wait, my due date is tomorrow but ds will be 13 days old! Am recovering from my csection slowly, it's hard not to lift things, especially ds1, and I have an infection in my wound so am a bit grumpy, but feeding is going well and I know it's a couple more weeks then I will feel better.

Hang in there ladies, you've got til the end of the thread to pop Grin

EssexWelsh · 27/04/2013 03:55

You are so right as soon as your baby is in your arms you won't even remember all the discomfort! For now, get a load of snacks, duvet out and watch TV and boss your DP about while you still have their full attention-as if they are anything like mine, once baby is here you won't get a look in for snuggles and kisses, as DP said, he loves DS too much and me, just enough Smile

Good luck ladies! DS 3 weeks old tomorrow and I'm already mourning that my newborn is growing up too quickly! Shock

ratbagcatbag · 27/04/2013 04:11

Jj if you having reduced movements no matter how different or late you are in preg you need to speak to midwife urgently. Sorry if you've already done that but honestly you must!!!

Hi Essex, I was :( when I realised after four weeks the stop being a newborn and are an infant.

Fluffeh · 27/04/2013 05:21

I'm apologising in advance for the me centred post but I really, really need some support.
My baby was born by c section on Monday, she's perfect. Feeding was going well (problems with a painful latch but support from the bf'ing team really helped). Turn to Thursday and suddenly I'm told she's lost too much weight, her sodium levels are too high, she needs formula top ups every 3 hours or (and I'll skip the horrible things the dr told me might happen as they're distressing and mostly sensationalised) bad things might happen.
I had to fight tooth and nail to ensure they didn't force feed her formula while at the same time worrying like crazy that something horrible was happening. I was told to quit bf'ing by consultant paed, and insulted by his registrar.
Thankfully the ward manager and midwife on shift understood my views and went out of their way to source some donated breast milk. She has been on this now for around 32 hours and has improved a lot but we still have no dirty nappies. She hasn't had one in almost 48 hours.
She has regained a little weight and although her sodium is still high its coming down.
I'm just so worried for her. I am expressing around 30ml every 2 hours as I'm just too sore to do anymore. Until I can prove she's getting 47ml every 3 hours she needs the donor milk.
Last night she was alert enough to want to feed from the breast (for 3 hours in total yay). But since then its been almost impossible to wake her enough to get the expressed/donor milk into her. She's really sleepy which I'm hoping is just from over eating.
The dr is reviewing her today and monitoring how alert she is. If I let her feed from me she might sleep deeply again and he'll think she isn't alert but if I don't let her feed from me she'll be inconsolable.
I'm sorry I don't have a question I just really needed to get it all down and try to make sense of it. I just want her to be better :(.

Notafoodbabyanymore · 27/04/2013 05:30

Just found this thread, haven't got time to read it all now but wanted to get in before thread is full - baby Matilda was born via VBAC on Monday the 22nd, two days late and weighing 8lb6.

Congratulations to all those who are also cuddling their babies, now off to read the rest of the thread.

Notafoodbabyanymore · 27/04/2013 05:40

Fluffeh, so sorry, I knew this would happen if I posted before reading!

Not much I can say, except hang in there! You're doing an amazing job and I bet you're exhausted, you poor thing.
