Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

How many more babies will this thread see?

Sending you a hug too jh sounds like you truly have had enough now. Is your nxt mw appt Fri for a sweep? Same as me if I remember rightly?! Surely they can offer induction etc if you're feelin this low? Can't b good for u to carry on in so much pain! Sending you Flowers and hand holding anyway. IT WON'T BE MUCH LONGER XXX

Teapig · 23/04/2013 18:07

jh I really hope things get better. Could they induce you as things are so tough?

About to go into delivery suite for induction via drip, really scared! Got to 3cm dilated but no real contractions and waters have been gone for a while now. Really not the water birth/active labour I wanted but getting closer to meeting baby.

Sending labour vibes to everyone still waiting.

JaquelineHyde · 23/04/2013 19:38

Thank you for the well wishes, DH has been wonderful today. He took me for a cream tea this morning and then after the school run this afternoon he took the dcs in the garden, then did their dinner and then took them upstairs to do all their homework. I lazed on the sofa and fell asleep between 5-6pm Shock Smile

They won't induce me unless it is absolutely needed, I asked for one when I was in hospital with the urine infection because of the pain I was in and the consultant refused and said they never do them on request, only when medically needed regardless of reason.

My midwife wouldn't even give me an early sweep, 40+7 is the earliest possible date, no amount of begging would change her mind. I am in on Thursday for my first sweep and will be induced on Tuesday if still no sign but the midwife thinks I will get a 2nd sweep in before they do that Confused I'm not quite sure how that will work...would they really do one on Thursday and then one on Monday the day before induction?

Anyway I am waffling, sorry. Teapig good luck, I will be thinking of you. Hopefully you will have your baby in your arms in the next few hours. Grin

Keys86 · 23/04/2013 20:03

Glad to hear you have had a good day jaqueline I was Brighton hospital yesterday as my blood pressure suddenly went sky high, they also think baby is quite big, I'm due on Friday and begged them for an induction soon but they won't consider it until 8th May as my blood pressure had returned to within the 'safe zone' however their safe zone is still incredibly high compared to my normal bp. Consultant just didn't really care! Not being seen for another week, grrrr! Not impressed!

Sorry for the rant!

photochick · 23/04/2013 20:05

Wow I can't keep up with all these babies - congratulations to everyone with new arrivals x

It's really great to hear all the stories and see so many beautiful pics on FB.

Plenty of Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit for everyone else waiting! I'm 39+4 and ready - I'm trying to stay as active as possible but I'm tired and feel very round!

KelleStar · 23/04/2013 21:41

JH It is the point of frustration, peeing a thimble full 10 times a night with SPD and a downstairs loo. Remember the agony from last time, doing the same without SPD this time, still a right pain. Glad to hear you got a little kip this afternoon. They may give you a sweep on Sunday, our MW service do, sometimes it's delayed if a delivery comes in. It doesn't take long, recommend paracetamol an hour before hand and stay relaxed, it's uncomfortable rather than painful. They'll check baby's position, heartbeat and your blood pressure, after the sweep in case they caused a reaction.

All quiet here. Though found I have sun burn on my chest and shoulders! Somerset sun at it's best!

KelleStar · 23/04/2013 21:42

Tea pig good luck, keep calm and focus on that little one being in your arms soon. Big hugs xxx

angeltattoo · 24/04/2013 00:09

Checking in and cheering you on ladies!

Flowers for JH

leluella · 24/04/2013 00:40

Good luck with the induction Teapig hope it is going well for you.

Congrats to fluff and user on their arrivals.

Currently trying to get to grips with feeding on day 2, its non-stop!!

Sympathies for all those waiting!

EssexWelsh · 24/04/2013 02:52

Good luck with inductions and those waiting it out.

Agreed about everyone saying get sleep while you can, Blake is now 17 days old and I'm still getting twice as much sleep as I did at the end of pregnancy!! All be it in chunks-we are on a night feed now, but all in all definitely getting more! Just think of it as practise, just substitute weeing throughout the night for baby snuggles Smile

bext · 24/04/2013 04:04

That's good to hear Essex - I'm currently wide awake as every time I lie down I get stabbing pains in my tummy. Don't feel like Brixton hicks and certainly aren't contractions. And they lessen when I sit up or walk around. So their only purpose seems to be to keep me awake, joy!

I shall try a gentle wander around the house and a piece of toast (my cure for everything Smile)

Congrats on all the arrivals and well done all of you getting to grips with BFing, it's good to know there will be lots of advice when I get to that stage.

39+1

Teapig · 24/04/2013 04:53

Lovely ladies, I am over the moon to announce the arrival of our DD Theola Elodie Rose.

Weighing at 8lb9 she is a beautiful bundle of perfection and breast feeding like a trooper though I know we both have a lot to learn and a big challenge ahead to make it work.

Induction via drip was far from my planned active labour/waterbirth as I was glued to the bed.

I was shaking leaf pretty much the whole time despite the epidural but it really wasn't too awful. I was induced at 7.30pm and Thea arrived at 12.37am. We are very lucky to have a private room to ourselves so going to try to sleep now.

Look forward to catching up with everyone's news later on and hoping more babies arrive very soon.

leluella · 24/04/2013 06:40

Congratulations tea on the birth of baby thea, beautiful name. Glad your induction wasn't too horredous, I don't think too many of us got the birth we wanted but hey the most important thing is that you have your gorgeous baby,

Wonder if we have had anymore little arrivals over night and cheering those is waiting on for today xx

NotShortImFunSized · 24/04/2013 07:54

Congratulations on all the new arrivals! I hope it's not too long before the rest of you don't have too much longer to wait.

I posted on fb but don't think I did here but baby Theo was born at 11.31 Monday morning weighing 7lb 13oz. He is feeding like a champ! Fed non stop last night from midnight to 3.30am. I'm tired and sore but he is definitely worth it Grin

His brothers and sisters adore him already and the poor boy hasn't been left alone! My sister brought my nieces over to meet him yesterday when we got home. The youngest is only 12 weeks but its amazing the difference between them. She looked tiny when I left in labour Monday and now she looks huge!!! It still amazes me how fast they change so I shall be making the most of these first few weeks.

Good luck to any impending arrivals today Smile

KelleStar · 24/04/2013 07:54

Congratulations teapig, Thea is a lovely name!

Am still here, and BexT I have similar pains when lying on my left at night, rhythmic and can sometimes last a while, like a burning sensation in my cervix and tight across lower bump, felt like the early contractions I had last time, except when I stand up they go, and they don't get closer than 7-10 minutes apart or lasting for more than a minute but at least 30 seconds.

And when I bounce on my ball, I only seem to get intense back ache. So if I am not toddling about, I perch on the edge of chairs, keeping my back upright and no hunching.

Bleh! So tired. Today is my nephews 4th birthday, his party is tomorrow though. And it's DH's birthday tomorrow too.

edinfirst · 24/04/2013 08:01

Massive congratulations teapig and notshort.
tea, I will take a lot from your reminder that even though we may not get the births we hope for we DO get to meet our gorgeous babies at the end of the process - I don't know how but I had managed to lose sight of that a bit in all the possible induction stress. Thank you Flowers

bext · 24/04/2013 08:41

Bug congrats NotShort and Teapig, and as you say Edin, a good reminder that it's the end result that matters not the processSmile

Kellestar that's exactly what I'm getting. The tightening was coming in waves but went the minute I walk around. And of course now it's time to get up, they've gone completely so I'm just knackered! Please let it be early early labour - I'm not sure I can do three more weeks of this!

bext · 24/04/2013 08:41

'big' congrats, that should be!

itsaruddygame · 24/04/2013 10:45

Huge congrats to all of you with new arrivals and lots of sympathy for those of you suffering end of pregnancy discomfort/tiredness.

JaquelineHyde · 24/04/2013 10:48

Massive congratulations teapig and notshort Grin

Fingers crossed for bext and kellestar I hope that the pains turn into something more positive for you both.

Nothing to report here, other than I am begining to have suspicions that I may be an elephant Smile

num3onway · 24/04/2013 12:50

Congratulations on the arrivals! Teapig I love the name elodie! It was on my list!
Hope those waiting are feeling some progress!

birdbrain17 · 24/04/2013 13:02

big congrats to the new arrivals and massive hugs to those still waiting...
has wishful been around on fb?not heard anything from her on here

now one week old baby bird is absolutely gorgeous and feeding really nicely. I can't stop kissing and cuddling her and every second of being overdue and labour pain was totally worth it Grin
can't wait for more good updates!

leluella · 24/04/2013 13:41

Was also wondering about wishful as I think she was due to be induced last saturday. Hopefully she is too distracted by a little baby to post

Cocochops · 24/04/2013 16:49

Congrats teapig and notshort

Nothing to report here seems my babies like to cook for a long time!

LikeCandy · 24/04/2013 20:54
