Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

Empress sorry it's so rough for you. I agree try light snacks and plenty of fluids. Would something like milkshake go down better? Just imagining its a bit thicker and calorific? I hope things progress shortly for you.

empress I really hope things progress and you don't have too much pain.

As mama and faith have said drinking fluids and eating what you can is important. Our antenatal teacher stressed the need to keep your energy up in the early stages, you must be shattered but eating a little and drinking might help a bit.

When things get more painful hopefully you'll be in established labour and can have more pain relief. Wishing you lots of luck, sounds like you're doing really well x

I think we should all start cheering for babyEmpress to make an appearance. I keep checking in to see if there is any news and you are still having to cope with this long, slow start. Fingers crossed that things pick up overnight. It is hard to think that there is worse pain to come but once that starts then at least you'll know you are getting closer to the end where you will be holding your baby in your arms and declaring how it was all worth it. I have no advice to offer, only positive thoughts that it will be over soon.

Mama great to hear from you and to see that you have had a break. Alex is doing so well - I was just telling Evan who is also falling asleep in my chest right now that Alex is going to be bigger than him soon! He seems to have taken the challenge seriously as he is now dropping off to sleep having had an extra feed!

Sending big cheers for babyempress to start moving downwards and for empress to get the strength for the adventure ahead :-) We are all thinking of you and rooting for you that things progress soon, and meanwhile that you find a way to rest and build your energy.

Thanks all for your good vibes and wishes. I am really touched. Alas I am still in the same situation as I was and it's horrible. At my appointment tomorrow I am going to beg for help. The only pain relief I have is paracetamol and that isn't doing anything any more.

empress - what time is your appointment today? Really hope they can help you out. I'll just second (third?) the 'keep your energy up' brigade- especially fluids. Have you tried malt loaf? Lots of energy in that and it's bloody delicious!

No news here- naff all happened in the night- I didn't get much sleep though. And I was meeting a friend today but they've cancelled.... It's going to be a loooooooong day!!

Tea really glad you got checked and everything's good. Mywsaid she always listens to mums when they feel something isn't right as its their body that's feeling it.

empress I hope you got some rest last night and have a little more energy for today - that hopefully will be the day you meet your baby :).

I have officially had my last mw appointment! My BP was in a normal range so as I have pre op next week and the cs is only 10 days away I only need to see her if I'm worried about anything. She's hoping to get me first on the theatre list on the big day because she wants to be there for it. Hopefully that'll happen.
So I'm trying my best to relax and enjoy the last 10 days of not being a parent :).

Thanks wishful. My appointment is at 10. I will ask what can be done to bring on active labour. I didn't sleep last night either as my contractions were constant at 6-7 minutes apart and too painful to sleep through. Hope your day is ok.

I managed to eat a bit of cereal and some toast and keep it down so that's good at least.

Just popping on while busy snuggling tiny DD to say good luck due date buddy empress really hope things get started properly for you & you are holding your baby soon.

Will be back later, off for a large coffee prior to toddler group after an all night PARTY on my side of the bed

Dysgu-that's so cute Alex really seems to be getting much chubbier especially in the face now-I mean I know 6lbs is still tiny but seems such a difference to me. Alex seems so determined he really focuses when feeding sucking as hard as he can, its like he knows he cannot rest for long he must eat eat eat! How is Evan doing?
Another photo will be put up as soon as I have a minute promise.

I'm 38 weeks today and its my last day at work. There were tears over my wetabix this morning. Not sure how I am going to make it through the day! DH doing my head in too which doesn't help (not going to rant here!).

Also is it normal to feel so hot all the time?

photochick I'm 38+3 today and have been so hit at night and gave had strangely sweaty feet the last week or so. I was just cooking in the kitchen yesterday in my crocs and they were all clammy when I took them off. Bloody hormones!

Got a head cold I can't shift and feeling v up and down mood wise. Off to dye my hair red to cheer myself up...

Well, it's my due date

But no sign of any action, nothing, nada! Not feeling too bad, I think because it's Friday, so know DH will be with me for the next couple of days.

Can anyone advise if he should come with me for a sweep on Monday? Or of I'll be ok alone? Total novice here!

Am bored of being inside, but it's raining here and also I don't like going out alone (not like me at all, so must be hormones!) so I think I'll get DH to take me out for dinner to celebrate due date, and aleviate the boredom a bit.

I have eaten a whole pineapple and am sitting on my ball...

Hunter is now on 3 hourly feeds of EBM. Doctors said this morning if he carries on doing this well he could be out early next week xx fingers crossed!

Hope everyone who is uncomfortable and due soon gets to meet their baby very soon! Xxx

After having a show yday, no more action here yet. Trying to keep busy but seem to be goin thru stages of absolute exhaustion and mad bursts of energy! Still very emotional and tryin not to cry at the tv! Hormones are great eh?

No signs of anything here either!! Really struggling to walk any distance as i get strong pelvic pains and walk like I Have been horse riding!! But my last labour did just start without any signs - waters broke at 6am and then had to go to hospital to be induced as nothing happened and their guidelines meant ds2 had to be delivered within a certain amount of hours.

This baby seems to be getting ever stronger and more wiggly - I would swear she is trying to break out through the top of my tummy!!

I am trying to entertain my 2 ds' as we still have the Easter hols but at the same time not venture too far for fear of my waters just randomly breaking!! Keep bumping into parents from school and everyone is keen to know if the baby has arrived yet - was really hoping to be all done and settling lo in before school kicked in again - looks like I shall be waddling back after all :/

Mama good to hear how fantastically Alex is doing. And good luck to all others with imminent arrivals - sorry to many too mention - few days absence from here and a lot has been happening!!

STILL NOTHING!! Ahhhh!!

angel - my DH came with me to my mw appointment when I had my sweep- it was fine- he sat behind the curtain making inappropriate jokes.

Keep refreshing to see if there's any news from either mrsimkin or empress - or anyone else for that matter! Surely someone wil have a baby today! let it be me! Let it be me!!

40+ 5- looking forward to a takeaway, becks blue and Friday night tv tonight!

Waters have gone. Just waiting for a time to go to hospital to be induced unless things start on their own. I was really hoping to avoid induction this time

angel I went on my own for sweep and was absolutely fine. That was on Wednesday and Ava was born last night just after 10pm. Very proud mummy here!

I'm due today also, still no signs although at this point tbh I would only really accept waters breaking or a babies head emerging from me as a real sign as had so many random pains that I thought was it that I given up

I'm still waiting and going ever so slightly insane! Tried to go for a long walk but didn't manage to get very far as it felt like someone was attempting shove lightening bolts up me! Did bump into 2 other ladies doing the same thing though as their due dates were yesterday and today, which did make me chuckle.
