Will this one take us through to the end of the first trimester? Will the sickness ever end? Will we be able to judge genders from those first scan pictures? These and many other mysteries to be solved in... THREAD 4

OP posts:

Hooray Roofie!! If you decide to tie the knot before baby is born, check out Tiffany Rose for maternity wedding dresses, it's where mine is from and they have some gorgeous frocks!!!

Still a bit of brown gooey spotting here, swinging between being convinced its all gonna be ok to baby is a goner....long wait til Tuesday. Sad

Soupqueen · 23/03/2013 20:33

Congratulations and happy birthday Roofio!

Lovely to hear all the scan news, and super news about your brother and sister in law, Umlauf.

Tarlia · 23/03/2013 20:53

Hehe shame it didn't work out MoN still, kids are pretty forgiving. Sounds like you have a fun bunch :)

falcon try not to be down, you will be an amazing mum. Doesn't matter where you live or what you can provide new all a baby needs is love, food, warmth, and safety - you can give a baby all of that. The ability to love and respect your child is the main gift anyone can give, money or brand new things mean nothing to a child, hell my sons fav toys for the longest time were 3 empty water bottles filled with things (water & glitter, pasta and lentils).

Wispa123 · 23/03/2013 21:11

Tarlia · 23/03/2013 21:22

I'm sorry to sound like I'm always complaining, but does anyone feel like they have lost touch with and the ability to make their own body happy? I have no idea if I'm hungry or full or about to be sick, I have a weird dead feeling, my stomach is knotted, churning and hurting all of the time. I remember this all day MS with DS but it seems so much worse this time. The only time I feel ok is when I'm asleep and even then I wake on the verge of throwing up.
I can literally sleep all day, today for example, last night I was in bed for 10am asleep by 10.30 and slept all night through, I got up at 6.30 and had a family breakfast, went to bed at 7am and slept until 10am, got up had a play and lunch with DS, I went to bed at 1pm while DS had his nap as I was falling asleep and slept until 5pm (OH just left me!! Which has made me feel so guilty, rubbish and lazy though they've had a ball and I usually do all the fun entertaining so shouldn't) and now I'm back in bed ready for sleep again. Is anyone else feeling this way? It's not like I'm throwing up all the time, only been properly sick a handful of days.

cazboldy · 23/03/2013 21:36

very familiar Tarlia Sad

especially the sleeping and the hungry/not hungry feeling

am so hoping it stops soon..... i'm getting behind with everything, which just makes me feel more shitty Sad

i feel like i am being crap at everything at the minute!

Haylebop12 · 23/03/2013 21:45

tarlia if I'm not eating, I'm sleeping!! Worked 10-6 today so no chance if a nap and I'm pooped! Going bed as soon as I've taken my meds at 10!

roofio congratulations!! How lovely :-)

All I want to eat at the mo is flamin got monster munch! Diet Pepsi is the only drink that doesn't taste rank but I realise its no good for me! Managed to control the sickness myself this time so I'm pleased.

Snow is super bad here (w.mids) and we literally live in a ditch so getting out and about is a bloody nightmare! Got a christening tomorrow so will be using taxis me thinks!! Hoping school is closed Monday bit even so it's walking distance so not the end of the world!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :-)

MotherOfNations · 23/03/2013 21:47

Just realised why the caramel shortcake tasted weird. the flour was 6 months out of date. That'll be why macaroni cheese last week didn't taste right either.

Haylebop12 · 23/03/2013 21:50

Sorry for the over usage of exclamation marks. Not quite sure what happened there Hmm

MotherOfNations · 23/03/2013 21:54

I'm just getting past the complete exhaustion stage, which is just as well since Iwas up til 4.30 am because my bathroom flooded causing all the electrics to go so had to sit up waiting for the plumber and electician.

Natalieand · 23/03/2013 22:01

tarlia just read your comments after literally having a convo with hubby that went something along the lines of 'I can't wait for this bloody scan, I don't even feel pregnant except the fact I can't keep my eyes open for more than two hours without feeling like I'm dying' lol I no we all get tired in day to day lives but literally nothin like since my BFP I stopped dd's naps just before Xmas as she was mucking about at bed time but now I'm letting her sleep again so I can cos if I don't have a sleep I fall asleep sitting up on sofa while she's playing at like 3-4pm which obv isn't safe at all but I don't even realise I'm asleep until she wakes me up cos she wants/needs something. Roll on the not feeling tired! Zx

JellyCurls · 23/03/2013 22:05

Evening ladies big congrats to roofio (if it wasn't you who got engaged then have a congrats and pass it in to the right person please)

I am in SPD hell I can barely walk and am only 13 weeks. No bump and no extra weight to carry but already so sore. Was pushing ddc1 round in her buggy today and could have cried. Going to call midwife on Monday and in the meantime I am going to curl up in a wee ball and cry.

Sorry for self indulgent post but really feeling sorry for myself

roofio87 · 23/03/2013 22:29

I'm still feeling pretty tired, but other symptoms, like the nausea are ebbing off a bit now. can't wait till Tuesday and I can know the little bean is ok and hit everyone with another load of good news, I don't do things by half!!
we're going to wait to get married until next year I think. even though I've known for years we would get married one day its so weird to actually talk about it now!!Smile

SeriousStuff · 23/03/2013 23:13

Congrats Roofio - you must be over the moon!

I'm able to stomach more food now but the smell of food (and smell of food on clothes) is making me sick. As soon as we've eaten, we have to clear everything straight away before it starts lingering!

As for tiredness, I'm napping for around 3 hours a day at the moment!

ananikifo · 23/03/2013 23:14

Congrats, roofio!

I started to feel amazing this week, by which I mean no sickness, able to eat a full meal, and normal energy levels. Then last nitgh we went to tesco to restock our fridge and the sight of all that food, and the smell made me feel really sick! I've felt sick today as well, and needed a nap, and my boobs were sore, so symptoms are back. Sad

I've spent the evening making a pregnancy calendar tshirt to take photos throughout my pregnancy. I found it here: diymaternity.com/tops/how-to-make-a-maternity-calendar-shirt-with-miranda-of-one-little-minute/ It took hours. I wish I just had a t shirt printed rather than doing it myself! Is anyone else doing anything to document your pregnancies?

MotherOfNations · 23/03/2013 23:46

ananikifo I hope my sickness doesn't come back. I've been feeling great apart from the ever present stuffy nose. The heartburn has made a reappearance tonight but I hope that's as far as it goes.

SeriousStuff · 24/03/2013 00:04

ananikifo that sounds like a good idea.

My DH has taken my picture twice and I hate both!

cherrycherry41 · 24/03/2013 00:22

Ive hit 12 weeks! Wooooooooooo :D

Sal1977 · 24/03/2013 07:32

Think I might hsve to get off the bus. Have had some red bleeding and clots this morning so not hopeful that everything is well in there. Called the out of hours doctor and he said to rest up as they won't scan you at the weekend?? WTF???? I have a scan booked for Tuesday but how can I wait til then???
I'm frightened. Sad

char1eston · 24/03/2013 07:44

Is there anywhere you'd be able to go for a private scan sal?
I'm with you, I don't think is be able to wait til Tuesday either. Fingers crossed for you x

Flyer747 · 24/03/2013 08:01

Sal do you have an EPU at your hospital? I called them last week when I felt like shit and had tummy cramps. They told me if I had any bleeding or things got worse go straight down where they would scan me no questions asked!!! Maybe worth a try...fingers toes everything crossed for you xxx

Flyer747 · 24/03/2013 08:02

Put it this way I went to doctors with my concerns found them to be a tad laid back the EPU were much more helpful than my GP x

Sal1977 · 24/03/2013 08:04

Apparantly it's not open at the weekend!!! Because people don't have problems at the weekend. Clearly.

ananikifo · 24/03/2013 08:09

Sal I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I hope you and your baby are ok.

It's a long shot but is there another hospital you could go to that does have a weekend EPU?
