Pink...you have a mirror, don't you?! My bits are a long forgotten mystery to me these days!

Apart from when baby hits them from within. Wimper!

learnermummy · 04/04/2013 20:51

Pinkapples I've been very swollen down below for weeks already - different to other 2 pregnancies. Midwife says its just how the baby is lying putting pressure in things. Not attractive at all and quite uncomfortable!

learnermummy · 04/04/2013 21:02

On a different note if anyone is wanting to hire a tens machine then birthease are doing a 7 week rental of the Elle tens for £20.75 including delivery and return postage. This is the tens I've used twice before and it was very good and easy to use.

forgetmenots · 04/04/2013 21:07

Haha MrsBri, I thought that might be a turn!
Definitely more 'squirmy' from baby these days :)

Good tip on the tens learnermummy :)

pinkapples · 04/04/2013 21:11

Thanks ladies its a bit reassuring at least to know we're all in the same boat.

Labour workshop last night went well, they have a disco ball in with the birthing pool woohoo! Think it would irritate the shit out of me though hehe although I am liking the idea of a water birth seems quite relaxing... If that's possible Grin

pinkbear82 · 04/04/2013 21:12

pink glad you mentioned it, thought it was just me. Feels very strange and quite uncomfortable at times.

have felt bubs more today than I have done in a while which is reassuring. had been getting worried.
whooping cough jab in the morning, only the third visit to the doctors surgery this week.... I could move in I'm sure!

(please excuse the fact my new phone seems to refuse to use capital letters when ever I post....it had quirks I'm yet never to figure out!)

MrsBri · 05/04/2013 00:27

Forget, if it is a turn, Baby B must get dizzy sometimes as I get wave after wave after wave!! I'm not sure he's that comfy in there :-/ Clearly he's a fidget bum if nothing else, but then he always was!

I might look into the tens machine. I guess you get it 4 weeks before the due date with a 7 week rental?

Littlemissexpecting · 05/04/2013 08:22

Morning everyone. Just checking in been a busy week with work but now back home and got today off to relax.
Sorry to hear so many not feeling well. Must be doing its rounds, I'm fighting a cold at the minute and bump has been much more active last couple of days. I thought they got less active as bump gets bigger? Think his feet have found my ribs and he seems to think its good fun?! Anyone else get pains in the lower bump? I'm not sure if its trapped wind (sorry tmi) but I've been getting a bit crampy over last couple of days on and off not sure what it is but its very painful. Waiting for gp to give me an iron prescription as my blood tests at 28 weeks showed i'm anaemic so I've been putting tiredness/breathless down to pregnancy bump and carrying extra weight so hopefully they will help me feel better soon.

Littlemissexpecting · 05/04/2013 08:23

Has anyone used a tens machine before? What did you like/dislike about it?
I'm planning a water birth so it won't help me in established labour but not sure how much it would help at home before going into hospital?

MrsBri · 05/04/2013 08:27

Littlemiss, Baby B is still kicking like a loon too...I've had very little sleep thanks to it :-/

By the way, absorbent bed pads are on Amazon at 3x7 packs (21 mats) for £8.45. Much cheaper than Boots' version.

RueDeWakening · 05/04/2013 11:09

Littlemiss I loved my rented tens machine so much the first time round that I bought my own :o I don't go into labour as such, I have ELCS but still find it useful for back pain, general aches, and also post op I put the pads either side of my CS wound and it really helps with pain relief - first time round I had MWs checking whether I was sure that I didn't hurt and was coping OK, as I was apparently taking far less than the normal level of painkillers they could give me (I had no idea of this at the time!).

If you can, I'd try and borrow or find one to have a try with, as not everyone in my NCT group with DD liked them, some found them painful even on the lowest setting or didn't like the feeling when it was on. Personally, I love it :)

DontmindifIdo · 05/04/2013 11:16

hi all, I've got a morning off as DS is swimming with MIL and I'm not at work. Just been for a wax - Oh. My. God. It hurts so much more now! I thought I was more sensitive last time, but I think something else has changed and that bloody killed!

I've also decided I'll book myself a pedicure once mat leave has started, can barely reach toes for any length of time, not going to be able to paint them... at least with this unseasonably cold weather I don't have to show my neglected feet to anyone other than DH

Oh god I've just realised. I am one of those statistics they always have up on the board in my doctors surgery. I had a whooping cough jab this morning that I completely forgot about - bad Sunny!

I've got another one and it will be when I'm 32 weeks - that should be ok shouldn't it?

MrsBri · 05/04/2013 12:43

Oops, Sunny! I'm sure they will forgive the preggo :-) 32 weeks is fine, don't worry.

SunnyL · 05/04/2013 13:41

It is funny how differently the Receptionist at my doctors surgery treat me now I'm pregnant - as if I have a justification for being there. Sometimes they can be right frosty witches but since I got pregnant they've generally been very pleasant.

MrsBri · 05/04/2013 16:04

Mine are like that too, Sunny.

Just spent loads more on basic baby wear today. But we are almost done now. Thank god.

Olimoss · 05/04/2013 16:38

Sweet Jesus I don't think I've had to deal with a bad lurgy without the benefit of lovely drugs since forever.

I might actually be a little bit dead.

gurgles

coughs up a lung

LadyFlumpalot · 05/04/2013 16:40

Hello! Is this the group I was in last year? I miscarried in November. If it is, just wanted to let all you lovely people know that I am now 16 weeks and due in September, told you I wouldn't be far behind!

forgetmenots · 05/04/2013 16:59

That's lovely ladyflumpalot! Delighted for you and all the best for a lovely autumnal baby :)

Littlemissexpecting · 05/04/2013 18:19

Congratulations Lady that's great news!!
I've started my iron tablets and drank about a litre of orange juice so lets see....
Possible side effects of my iron tablets: heartburn, constipation and nausea. Aren't they the side effects of pregnancy?!

MrsBri · 05/04/2013 18:28

Imagine how bunged up you may get if already constipated though!

And congrats, Lady, that's great news :-)

Olimoss · 05/04/2013 18:49

Good news Lady - and the time definitely goes quickly....

learnermummy · 05/04/2013 22:12

Evening all.
Iron tablets can play havoc with your bowels littlemiss so take care.
And yes, I loved tens machine too, used it both times before getting in water and its great for early labour. The 7 week rental is delivered at 36 weeks. Must order mine!

MrsBri · 06/04/2013 07:41

Morning!

I too appear to have a cold now...headache, snuffles and a cough which seemingly came from nowhere :-/ Nice.

My BP had gone back down yesterday, so just need to see where we are on Monday.

Suppose it would make more sense to continue with work, especially if it is from home, but I don't know. See how it goes, maybe?

I ordered a lovely rug for the nursery yesterday, sticking to the wild animal theme :-) And a cot bed as the free one offered has shown no sign of coming and they haven't bought the replacement bunk beds for their girls yet. So I bit the bullet...annoying as not budgeted for, but oh well!

My FiL apparently has a TENS machine for his back. When I mentioned borrowing it instead of hiring one, I was told that he does use it. Guess that's a no then!! I may have a go on it though, see what it is like :-)

Hope everyone is ok today.

SunnyL · 06/04/2013 07:55

Morning. Well my midwife was correct on the gossip front. Bumped into some neighbours last night who confirmed another one of our neighbours is pregnant. So out of 11 houses there are 4 of us pregnant with 5 babies due in the next 6 months (one of them is twins).

Definately something in the water!
