Hetty - Ive had the same. Up all night to desperatly pee, and nothing comes out :( I went to the docs and they couldnt find anything wrong although I am having bloods next week for diabetes but im pretty sure I havent. I think its just a naughty baby putting pressure on the bladder and irritating it!
Im crossing my fingers it ill get better soon.
Good luck :)

badguider · 07/03/2013 17:22

For anybody feeling the need to pee but with only a tiny dribble coming out, if you're sure it's not a UTI then you should try to drink loads and loads to dilute your pee.
Concentrated pee irritates the bladder sooner than dilute pee so by diluting your pee your bladder can actually hold loads more - and it's far more satisfying when you go Smile

Hello. Just marking my spot for further lurking.
Scan at 10am tomorrow. Hope all's ok! So far I think I'm 12+4. We'll see...

Readytosettle · 07/03/2013 18:30

Anyone else with me on tinned peaches? Can't get enough right now!

jennimoo · 07/03/2013 18:36

Yes to tinned peaches, bought 2 more cans today. They've always been one of my poorly foods!

kimjayne · 07/03/2013 19:07

Oooh tinned peaches! Yum. Might give them a go too. I'm totally addicted to Capri sun drinks at the min. My boss bought me alto pack of them at weekend and brought them into work for me :) bless him. He even treated me to a veggie Yo sushi.today and bought me a Mothers Day orchid. Honestly felt close to tears! Very lucky to have such a lovely team (sometimes ... He does have his bad days too).
On the subject of relatives voicing opinions too casually, I've recently been told by the mil that my plan for the babies room were wrong and she would have gingham curtains if it was her?! ... I actually quite like the gingham idea but can't bloody buy them now out of principal. Also had.relatives questioning my choice of hospital. Ggrrrhhh

CharlW1 · 07/03/2013 19:10

Hetty I suffer really badly with UTIs and it is rare that the dip test actually picks up the infection and it's only when it's sent to the lab that it comes back saying I have an infection. After suffering continually I now have to take 1 antibiotic every day which seems to have done the trick. As badguider said drink loads of water as it won't be as painful to pee. Hope it eases down for you soon.

CharlW1 · 07/03/2013 19:12

Kim what a lovely boss!

kimjayne · 07/03/2013 19:32

Charlw1 - he has been totally fab since I told him. He seems genuinely chuffed for me and the hubby. I've worked at the same place since I left uni 8 years ago and he always says how he feels really proud. When we got married he have us £100 towards the honeymoon. He even cried when I told him. Bless. He can be a pain (like all bosses) but I know Im lucky.
It's gonna be very strange taking mat leave and having so much time away from work... I'm sure it will be over before I've even started to enjoy it though. How much time are you guys taking off work? Just out of curiosity! I've not quite decided yet. Still need to speak properly with HR.

HettySunshine · 07/03/2013 19:33

Thanks for the advice Charl and badguider. I've been trying to drink more today at work (I know I forget sometimes) and I do feel better this evening. No doubt I'll be doing the bathroom relay tonight but is better than weird pains!

Badguider, I hope you had a lovely relaxing afternoon. Smile

HettySunshine · 07/03/2013 19:36

Kimjayne, I think I am going to take either 6 or 9 months and then go back part time, hopefully three days a week. Still need to figure out the finances though. Does anyone know anything about tax credits? How do you know if you are entitled to them?

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 07/03/2013 19:58

beans my scan is tomorrow too and I should be 12 weeks exactly.

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 07/03/2013 19:58

Meant to say good luck Smile

CharlW1 · 07/03/2013 20:15

I am going to try and save enough so I can take a year off - though I only get stat maternity pay so having to save everything I can.

KamikazeeKid · 07/03/2013 20:18

I took 14 months with ds as carried all of my leave over. would love a year again but think funds will not permit that this time. First timers, you'll be amazed by how little you manage on but I'm guessing we'll struggle with a child already. Especially if this turns out to pink!

WhizzsMum · 07/03/2013 20:26

Evening all. I've just spent over an hour catching up on what I've missed the last few days. My oh my can the girls in this group talk. It's fab, after a crappy old week I again feel like I'm not the only one suffering.

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and MS this week has been awful. Nearly threw up in front of my class this week, bless them, they all looked so scared and concerned. Just hope I don't faint in front of them when that will no doubt start. BP is 86/60

Am I the last to have a scan? I've got to wait until 18th March at 4.30, i'll be 13+3, really hope my dates are spot on as they have warned me they might not be able to do nuchal test etc. Oh well, what will be will be.

With regards to nappy choice earlier in thread, I used reusable ones with DD and put her in disposables at night. Did this right up until I went back to work at 9 months which was fab, but changed just to make life a little easier for the child minder.

I too have a massive bump, I'm convinced it's either a boy or twins. DD pg was a breeze in comparison. I ate loads of sweet stuff (mostly co-op belgium buns - I became quite an expert and co-op came out on top), but this time all I want is salt??? Makes my MS worse just thinking about it, but somedays I could literally suck the salt out of one of those little sachets - apparently that is a boy thing. Any mummies to boys had similar?

Wincher · 07/03/2013 20:45

Yup, I craved salty things far more than sweet last time round and had a boy.

Creamtea1 · 07/03/2013 21:00

With my two ds pregnancies, I had virtually no sickness, felt fine, ate everything in sight (hence put on 3.5 stone) with no particular craving for sweet or savoury.
I know it keeps being said but every pregnancy really is different, I thought I would show really early this time as its my third but at 14 weeks I think that to a stranger I wouldn't look pregnant (maybe just a bit fat!)

JoCheshire10 · 07/03/2013 21:16

I'm 12 weeks pg, first baby and worried as my symptoms have declined. They havent gone completely but have reduced. Is this normal? My scans not until Tues and would be my worst nightmare to not see a heartbeat...

jennimoo · 07/03/2013 21:18

Jo - I expect your just either getting a few days respite or your lucky enough the symptoms are tailing off. Both pregnancies mine eased at 12-14 weeks. Good luck for the scan.

jennimoo · 07/03/2013 21:19

That was dreadful typing, I must be tired: please excuse my use of the wrong your /you're!

TripleRock · 07/03/2013 21:20

Just making my place, lots to catch up on!

beans37 · 07/03/2013 21:34

Redand yellow - good luck too!

I am enormous this time as its third, I think. My Dad died in October last year and I kind of stopped eating and lived off wine! Blush so consequently, have started eating again since January, but a lot more than before and have put on a stone already. Mortified. Going to have to cut back now the sickness has passed.

Jo, try not to worry. Chances are you're ok, just passing the horrid point. Fingers crossed! Or it could just be respite, as Jennimoo says. But let's hope it's just gone. Mine has in last couple of days. Phew.

Readytosettle · 07/03/2013 21:36

Is anyone else planning on transferring sone of their mat leave to DH? We're currently thinking 6/7 months for me & then 2-4 for him depending on how much he enjoys it...

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 07/03/2013 22:00

I've not really had many symptoms and been fine for at least a couple if weeks now but trying not to worry as I was exactly the same when pregnant with DS. I keep searching from my posts from that time and yup, I was the same.
