Triplerock - that's rubbish :(

Kim - I suffer with anxiety but luckily pregnancy doesn't seem to trigger it too much. A useful thing I read though was that at least we don't have to worry about worrying! Only the super stressful life events seem to affect baby at all, so we don't have to worry about our general day to day worrying ;)
Hope that helps.

TripleRock · 14/03/2013 18:43

Yes I did retrieve them, and have had to wear them for the rest of the day! I have managed to see the funny side Grin

Managed to get out of work half an hour early. Probably no great loss to them as I've spent most of the day in the loos off and on.

Worst day of sickness so far at 13 weeks... Very strange!

kimjayne · 14/03/2013 19:42

Jennimoo - that's actually really reassuring. Thanks very much for sharing that. It's nice to hear from somebody else with similar worries. I hope you're feeling okay jen.

MammaGnomes · 14/03/2013 20:13

Hi everyone!! Scan went well WERE HAVING A BABY everything was really clear!
Was being a rascal though and wouldn't move around much so was there ages trying to get the measurements just got to wait for test results now and we can breathe a sigh of releif until at least 8th may (20 weeks scan)
Have we all had scans now think I was one of the last???

ION think I have started with a water infection today :( never ha one before so not sure but it hurts to wee :(

swaye · 14/03/2013 20:22

MammaGnomes so exciting, i had mine today too! I think im having a baby followed by a trampoline! Baby was jumping and flipping and spinning and waving, so funny!

Had the nuchal measurement 2mm i think that's good so fingers crossed for the blood test.

What i thought was a fat tummy really is baby!!! Was so shocked that there was a baby in me i couldnt quite take it all in at first lol, so very cute!

Have joined the vitamin d trial Mavidos and got a lovely surprise... A 3d photo wow!

SGJ · 14/03/2013 20:22

Oh Triplerock, have to apologise but that visual did make me laugh! Gla you got to go home early, that's the dream!
Good day today! I find these weeks the worst - having seen the reality of the baby during the scan, it's then ages until either seeing it again or feeling it move and I start to get worried... anyway, thank goodness for today's 16 weeks appointment as I got to hear the heartbeat! Totally sounded like a train so according to the old wives tale, it's a boy!
Has anyone with kids already been proved wrong or right about gender because of an old wives tale?

Creamtea1 · 14/03/2013 21:15

Not sure about old wives tales...but they told me at a private gender scan at 16 weeks that dc2 was a girl - DS2 was born 24 weeks later!!

andadietcoke · 14/03/2013 21:21

Creamtea exactly the same thing happened to my friend. Her DS had a pink bedroom for the first few months of his life (and lots of pink clothes!!)

juniper9 · 14/03/2013 21:43

Thankyou for the reassuring words Thanks

kimjayne · 14/03/2013 22:20

Anyone thinking of baby names and need some inspiration, I just got this in an email and thought it was quite interesting! .... God people dont half pick some stupid names though!

BinarySolo · 14/03/2013 22:20

Frog, I'm 15 weeks today and have been looking pregnant since about 11 weeks. I actually thought the scan photo would show a box of malteasers.

Triplerock I can truly sympathise. Last pregnancy I managed to drop my phone down the loo and kill it, much to the amusement of my colleagues. Have an otterbox to protect my phone now which is handy as I dropped it in the duck pond when I was changing their water the other day. Pockets obviously aren't deep enough!

Hi all, I received my Doppler today, I've been doing a bit if messing about with,it, I'm 12 +4 today and I can kinda hear a beat I think, it sounds really far away though, and I'm not sure if I'm imagining it!!

What's everyone else's experience?

KamikazeeKid · 14/03/2013 23:27

Emma if its faster, a lot faster than your pulse its baby compare the two :-)

Baby can sound distant as moves about so keep chasing ha ha

swaye · 15/03/2013 00:43

After reading yr comments and the scan, i can defo feel the bubbly sensation that is my baby!!!!! Hoorah :-)) goodnight all x

andadietcoke · 15/03/2013 06:54

frogchops good luck today. I was only teasing yesterday - I'm sure there's only one in there Wink certainly won't be checking every hour on the hour what time's your scan again?!

frogchops · 15/03/2013 07:35

Won't see my tadpole till 3pm. Anyone know if bloods get done before or after??

Readytosettle · 15/03/2013 07:57

After in my case....the sonographer gets u to sign the form to say u want nuchal & then send u thru for blood when they've finished.

JoCheshire10 · 15/03/2013 08:07

Does anyone know when I should feel the baby move? It's my first baby and have read this will be later with a first? Can't wait for that!! Smile

andadietcoke · 15/03/2013 08:46

After, just in case they can't do the measurements they need I think. Although saying that apparently in some trusts they do the bloods a week or so before the scan so they can give you the combined results at the scan. Think you'd know if that was your hospital by now though!!

andadietcoke · 15/03/2013 08:48

Jo I've read anything between 16 and 20 ish but depends on all sorts of things.

Have kept meaning to ask - are you actually in Cheshire? Or just like cheese?!

fl0b0t · 15/03/2013 09:50

Hi all. triple you poor thing, but congrats for getting your dignity losing out of the way now..... I believe it only gets worse Wink

Has anyone else had any really horrible (but brief) pain in their abdomen? I was making a loud "chhhhh" noise at the cat as he was scratching the carpet, and got this really bracing pain along underneath my bellybutton. It was really horribly and really hurt, but went in a few seconds. It happened before a few weeks ago when I had a coughing fit, but didn't hurt as much.

I have woken up in a state because I appear to have a throat infection or tonsilitis and am feeling awful. I don't know what to do so will prob ring the midwife...?

jemimahpuddleduck · 15/03/2013 10:15

Good luck with the scan today frog and anybody else.

Cold feels like it's nearly gone so I am starting to feel the best I have since January!! Am starting to suffer with headaches so trying to remember to drink more. Anybody else getting them?

ION my nursery furniture is arriving this PM. It's going to stay in the boxes in the garage as feel it's too early to even have, but got it for a really good price and couldn't hold off delivery. Trying not to be superstitious Hmm

jemimahpuddleduck · 15/03/2013 10:40

Flo I get that occasionally my research suggests it's maybe round ligament pain.

fl0b0t · 15/03/2013 10:59

Thanks jemimah- it's horrible! We blamed the cat (of course!)

Just had a really nice chat with an old friend, which cumulated in me running off to vomit copiously. So done with the nausea and sickness now.

KamikazeeKid · 15/03/2013 11:03

Hi all consultants appt following prev emcs. ..anyone else having or had one?
Im leaning towards a repeat section due to previous experience and situation but remaining open minded. I'm reading conflicting stuff as to whether I am free to choose tho? Surely we are now allowed to make an informed decision taking into account past and obviously safety for babys arrival but I'm reading a lot of cons refuse mothers decision now??? If was for silly reasons I can understand but I feel like I know the outcome of this meeting without actually having begun my consultation? ?
I should step away from google I know :-)

Great news on scan updates!
