Here you go. New thread...number 3!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
xuntitledx · 15/03/2013 09:49

I haven't posted here for a few weeks as I've been really busy with work but just managed to catch up on all of your posts now.

I had my booking-in appointment on Monday which went well and have a scan date for Monday 25 March, 8.50am so hopefully first one of the day!

Had a major melt down this week though, some issues with the step-kids and hubby's ex and I couldn't help but sob - I'm really worried about the what the stress is doing to the bean but have managed to calm down over the past couple of days.

I've had cravings for salted chips and orange fanta which a fellow pregnant friend told me is quite controversial as it's normally sweet for a girl, savoury for a boy however twins run in my hubby's family so perhaps it could be one of each!

hello ladies,
sorry to hear your back in hospital hayle hope they manage to sort out your thyroid while your there, you will probably feel loads better even if t doesnt stop you from being sick. I have an underactive thyroid and felt awful at the start until they upped my medication. Glad you were able to change scan.
lovely to hear about good
scans Grin Going to be busy on here as we all have our 12 week scans coming.
sorry to hear about your added stress untitled but interesting about your cravings Smile

Told uni yesterday that I was having another baby, have been worried about telling them as have a final placement to do in summer and they will have to accomodate my pregnancy. but they were lovely, even pleased. so now feel very silly for worrying so much.
Hope you all have lovely weekends planned.

34PinkLadyApple · 15/03/2013 10:25

Hey jelly glad the scan went well. Gives us all reasurrance i think!

Mines on Tuesday at 9.40am. First one at 12 weeks. Really nervous as we were round the IL's last night and there was so much talk of baby that I'm really feeling the pressure. IL's were planning to get a dog this year (first I heard of it!) but they aren't now as baby is coming instead?! They've also cancelled their 1st week in September holiday which was only for 6 days (in case they miss the birth). I'm glad they are excited but I'm scared that because they have nothing else in their lives (neither work although just under retirement age, they don't drive, have no other grandchildren and never socialise) they are expecting to be involved in absolutely every moment on this childs life and are expecting us to take him/her round there all the time! My H2B cannot see how his mum manipulates him into doing things for her and this past week, it has been worse. Maybe I'm getting over emotional about it because of my hormones but I am dreading it really as i think it will cause problems between me and H2B. She plays a very good martre (whatever the spelling is?!). She always mentions minor hospital appointments coming up and things she needs to do/get and makes out how the buses are so awful, it would be such a chore and she'd have to get up really early etc so he then offers to take her and shes like, 'no! you can't take me, you've got work and I don't want to put you out, no, I'll be alright, I should be back in time to help your Granny with her shopping if I get the bus, although she does worry if I'm late, but, no, I'll be fine'. Needless to say, he took her AND trundled round tesco THEN went to B & Q for some bloody plants. He was gone all flipping day! Oh god, I sound awful but I just want some time with my H2B and baby on our own when it arrives without them butting in and wanting picking up to visit. The other son NEVER gets asked to help because he stopped offering and is now considered selfish.

At the moment, they don't come to us unless he picks them up, even though its about a 20 min walk and they are very capable of walking. I bet they find their legs when baby is here Angry and I won't have anywhere to hide!

MOAN OVER, JUST HAD TO GET IT OFF MY CHEST! Sorry ladies.

Here's to a fab friday!

MrsExcited · 15/03/2013 10:47

Sadly getting off the bus after my scan this morning, looks like embryo stopped developing at 6 weeks, still no real sign of miscarriage yet so, for the conversation earlier looks like i can go down as being the mmc for this thread!

Don't be too sad for me, it happens, good luck with everyone else

34PinkLadyApple · 15/03/2013 10:51

So Sorry excited Makes my moan very trivial now! Hope you get back on a bus when you're ready. Have they told you what happens next? Seems unfair to just tell you that and nothing else Sad Flowers

Haylebop12 · 15/03/2013 10:53

pinkbuttons · 15/03/2013 11:16

so sorry to hear your news mrsexcited sending you lots of love and wishing you all the best. x

cuillereasoupe · 15/03/2013 11:28

Sorry to hear your news MrsE, hope you're back on another bus soon.

Anyone else been reading the thread in AIBU about the in-laws moving in during building work when the OP will have just had a CS? My parents and DP's parents are both abroad so I'm wondering how we'll manage. Still, plenty of time to think about it I suppose.

littleducks · 15/03/2013 11:30

MrsE Sad sorry to hear your news. Sending (very unMN) lots of love and best wishes.

Like roofio today is watch out for the postman day. Not helped by the fact one day last week our post turned up at 6pm so i have no idea when to expect him!

I'm still waiting for the letter that holds all the info as WTF is going on with me, dh has booked the day off as it is major late notice but now I'm worry that the woman on the phone was wrong and maybe it isnt a scan but some other kind of appointment or something.

It is at the partner hospital to where I was expecting to go. This is fine for an appointment, especially is it is just that their clinics are so full that they are just trying to fit in everybody so the scans are performed within the right dates. However I wouldnt be happy to give birth there it is too far away and my last baby was delivered by the paramedics as it was a fast labour. If that is suggested I will be asking for a homebirth, especially since new hospital has a MLU, no A&E, ICU or SCBU......so if it all did go badly wrong we would need to be transfered to initial hospital, which is closer to my house than new hospital especially considering London traffic.

Pinkapple-good luck at the scan. 9.40 will be good, clinic shouldnt be running too late and you dont have to spend all day in suspense.

char1leston- that is so fab! did you get pictures to show everyone?

Hayle- sorry to hear you are feeling so miserable. I had HG in both my previous pgs, much worse when I had a girl Hmm. It is good they are taking it seriously and investigating it though, i found drs to be a bit hit and miss, some were great and some seemed to think it was just bad morning sickness

xuntitledx- I think they crying is hormones, I was sobbing over an episode of Elementary the other night, while dh tried very hard not to laugh!

And a quick hi and sorry to everyone else, I was going to post more but have to go now. Be back later with another mammoth catch up post!

Natalieand · 15/03/2013 11:38

So sorry to hear that mrs excited xxxx

Sorry to year your in hospital yet again and have had to delay your private scab! haylebop

Makes me more anxious waiting for my scan hoping everything will still be ok when I get too 12 weeks. Xxx

Natalieand · 15/03/2013 11:39

Excuse me, I mean private scan hayle not scab stupid phone lol xxx

roofio87 · 15/03/2013 11:47

littleducks we can start a contest for who has the most rubbish postman/hospital appointment system!! oh fun!! Wink

Rockchick1984 · 15/03/2013 11:48

So sorry MrsE I hope you're ok Thanks

Littleducks I love elementary - seem to have a list of programmes I'm addicted to at the moment (Arrow, Elementary, Nashville, HIMYM to name just a few) I'm not normally a big TV fan but totally addicted at the moment!

34 I have similar inlaws, however they did the opposite and weren't interested once DS arrived as it meant me and DH weren't as willing to run around after them Hmm so now they only see us (and DS) about once a month if we are lucky, didn't see them at all for 3 months at one point last year!

pinksky · 15/03/2013 12:04

I'm worried about ILs too, but think we'll ask them to stay in a local hotel. Would that be acceptable for your family, cuillere? I can't bear the thought of having guests when I've just given birth.

ducks that's seriously shit. Hope you get a letter soon and you will be able to ask for your hospital of choice, if you decide that over a HB. I don't think they can tell you no?

pinksky · 15/03/2013 12:06

Btw, did everyone get a letter confirming their booking in appointment? I haven't, just arranged over the phone. Don't really want to bother the MW but maybe it's worth phoning to confirm next Monday.

littleducks · 15/03/2013 12:22

UPDATE: postman has arrived letter has not Hmm So i phone and phone. I do have an appointment and I now know the time......but it is just for bloods and antenatal advice....NO SCAN Sad which I would have been fine with had my hopes not been raised massively yesterday.

Haylebop12 · 15/03/2013 12:24

I didn't get a letter pink just arranged with receptionist at the surgery :-)

Rockchick1984 · 15/03/2013 12:30

Pink my letter arrived after I'd had the appointment :)

roxvox · 15/03/2013 12:30

Just popping in to say that I am so sorry to hear that MrsExcited, big hugs and lots of Wine xx

pinksky · 15/03/2013 12:34

Thanks guys--I'll relax then Smile

Possibly pinksky, though my mum would probably have to stay with us as she doesn't speak the lingo. No point worrying about it yet though.
