Feelinghungry, yes ours is on Tuesday then catching up with a few stragglers on Wednesday. Not looking forward to it but glad yours went ok. I hope you aren't too tired tomorrow.

I agree, google teaches me about new things I had never thought to worry about. I try to stay away or stick to reliable sites like the nhs one.

char1eston · 14/03/2013 21:40

Just to put people's minds at rest a little. Over the past few weeks my symptoms have pretty much disappeared but today I had the 12 week scan and saw the flashing heartbeat and a little 5cm baby Grin

roofio87 · 14/03/2013 21:52

oh char1stone!! that's wonderful, bet it was amazing! and yes makes me feel much better, will just get on with enjoying feeling better and looking forward to my scan (whenever that will be!) x

Bronzemoth · 14/03/2013 22:03

Hayle and rainbow you poor things hope you get relief soon.

Are any of you (especially first timers) watching One Born! Not sure if it is educating me or terrifying!

Haylebop12 · 14/03/2013 22:25

Hi ladies, sat here waiting for my drip and drugs... Again. Doc just been back round to say my last blood results may have indicated an issue with my thyroid! News to me although could be the reason I'm vomiting so much?!

Oh well more bloods taken to start investigations!

Irishfairy · 14/03/2013 22:26

Bronzemoth I sometimes watch OBEM but I think it's important to remember that the births and footage is selected to make for the most entertaining tv and is not an accurate reflection of lots of births that are more calm and do not involve lots of intervention. I'm a big fan of active upright births and in my work as a birth doula I see plenty of wonderful births that do not involve screaming, panic and lots of people rushing in with implements. There are lots of different ways to birth, none are more wrong or right than others but I don't like the way most tv and movies portray birth as a frightening emergency as it just makes us feel scared and not empowered. There is a new show on Itv next Thursday night called Home Delivery which shows an alternative side of birth to OBEM and features an acquaintance who is a lovely independent midwife. I'm definitely going to watch it!
Sorry I can go on about this subject for ever!

Irishfairy · 14/03/2013 22:28

Oh Hayle I really feel for you having such a tough time. Wishing you some relief from your sickness and hope you can get some rest.

Haylebop12 · 14/03/2013 22:34

Tbh if there is a problem with it that's causing the sickness then hopefully it means something can be done. And when if I do get pg again it can be stopped before it starts!

PseudoBadger · 14/03/2013 22:42

I'm sorry you're still having a bad time Hayle :(

roofio87 · 14/03/2013 22:59

flyer747 there is 70mg of vitamin C in my vitamins for pregnant ladies, not are what the max you'd be recommended would be, but that must be a safe amount to go on!!

SeriousStuff · 14/03/2013 23:01

charleston that's wonderful news!

Hope you feel better soon Haylebop12

Sal1977 · 14/03/2013 23:31

Just to put a positive spin on things, statistically, none of us will have a MMC. The NHS says 1 in 100 will have a MMC, there are only 73 of us on the October list. Ssswwwweeeeeetttt!!!!!

Sleep easy motherships!! Xx

Haylebop12 · 14/03/2013 23:35

Sal Grin

Iheartcrunchiebars · 15/03/2013 06:33

I like your thinking Sal.

Hayle I think that sounds positive. It would be great if they get it sorted!

Natalieand · 15/03/2013 06:42

I'm more shocked that there's 73 of us Shock

pinksky · 15/03/2013 06:49

Hello ladies, you lot have been busy! just back from a conference, was knackering and I'm pleased to be home Smile 8+1, can't wait for my booking in appt next Wednesday. It's at the hospital so I'm hoping we can agree a scan date their and then. I've known I was pregnant for 5 weeks now...time is dragging!

Hayle so sorry you're back in hospital. I hope you're managing to get some rest and hopefully they'll sort you out once and for all! rainbow sorry you're suffering too--take care.

charleston that's so wonderful! Many congratulations Grin

Irishfairy thanks so much for saying that, and for mentioning the itv programme. I'm really hoping for a home birth even though it's my first, so will look forward to watching that.

How is everyone else? I'm sorry for those worrying about things, these first weeks are tough but I like Sal's view--chances are all in our favour X

cuillereasoupe · 15/03/2013 06:52

Seventy-four - I haven't got around to putting myself on the list yet!

JellyCurls · 15/03/2013 07:23

75 I am not on the list either. Can someone add me now I have had my scan

Jellycurls, EDD 30th Sept, DC3 (can't think what else you need)

char1eston · 15/03/2013 07:53

Thanks ladies

Irish - I know what you mean about obem (although I do watch it every week).
Every time I see someone lying on their backs I shout at the screen for them to move! It makes sense that if you are more upright, gravity will help get that baby out.
With dd I had a waterbirth (in hospital) and would definitely recommend it although I know it's not for everyone.
I wrote a birth plan that was actually followed but I think it's important to not get too hung up on them if they don't go exactly how you expect.

funkky · 15/03/2013 08:14

bowlfullofjelly. You are my scan date mate! Mines next Thursday as well at 3.45 pm. I pee so regularly not sure how to manage the full ladder request. What time is yours?
MW booking ok but the lady is not my MW,she said all my apps will be at GP as its community led and that's when I will meet my actual MW,nice cause GP is closer but she was such a lovely lady, I wanted her already.
MS kicked in this week at 11 weeks, mines been more afternoon nausea and tiredness as am fine in the mornings but two days this week was real sick, thought the worst ill be over at this stage?
Glad to hear all the scan stories so far and can't wait!!!

Rockchick1984 · 15/03/2013 08:34

Re full bladder for scan - I did a little experiment last time and will do it again this time! Our hospital says 2 pints of water 1 hour before scan and I knew there was no way I could hold it for that long! A couple of days before the scan I drank 2 pints of water and waited to see how long until I was struggling to hold it - was actually about 45 mins so longer than I expected but meant I knew to drink it 30 mins before my appointment (to allow time for them running late). I'm glad I did, by the end of the appointment I was bursting Grin

Haylebop12 · 15/03/2013 08:44

I found that of your full thats ok but no need to make yourself uncomfortable. With my 20wk scan with dd I had to be fit to burst!

Still can't get in touch with scan clinic :-(

Haylebop12 · 15/03/2013 08:45

Sorry that didn't make sense. I was full for my 20wk but told to go out and drink more. I was in agony after the scan!

roofio87 · 15/03/2013 09:38

hmmm, sat here twiddling my thumbs waiting for the post man to see if my letter from the hospital will finally arrive!! (problem is postman lives on our road so we're the last on his route, usually not until gone 2 o'clock!!) if it doesn't come today I'm going to ring them again!!
Can't decide how I feel today, slept terribly so feeling tired, but still less sicky I think so that's nice. Smile

Haylebop12 · 15/03/2013 09:41

Hope your letter comes roofio

Scan re booked for Monday evening when ill be 10+0. Gutted I've cant make it today but at least they let me change it with an hours notice Smile
