williaminajetfighter · 07/03/2013 10:47

Hi all, So excited did my dig pgtest this morning and it's 3+ so things are moving along and hopefully getting less and less risk of miscarriage.

Had a wobbly this monring though - totally forgot about all the sleepless nights and baby nappies. Dear god what have I done!! Shock Grin

MotherOfCleo · 07/03/2013 11:15

hope your alright honey. I was so dizzy and lightheaded when I got up this morning! Had to sit back down before I fell down.

Really missing my OH now and hes not back till Monday.....seems forever away.

SpanishLady · 07/03/2013 11:23

Hahaha Williamina - great minds think alike - just POAS too and got 3+ - it just helps doesnt it - well for 5 minutes!

i have the slowness as well - this pregnancy the day of the week I go up a week is Thursday - hence today I am 5 weeks - however instead of thinking Im 'only' 5+1 tomorrow - Im thinking Im in week 6 - that way each week I straddle 2 weeks - this my friends is how I pass my time and make myself feel better about being so early mumsnet's pregnancy calendar doesnt even bother until week 6

which is tomorrow!

off for a bagel and to muse over my insanity

i got 3+ today too Smile x

Dizzy81 · 07/03/2013 14:28

I'm glad it's not just me that is waking up with the sweats in the night! I read somewhere that insomnia is also a classic side effect of pregnancy.

I am tempted to book a private scan but not sure!Just want to tell teh world.

Fairydogmother · 07/03/2013 14:34

how early can you get a scan? i'm so so keen to see just something! but i know theres little to see lol

Fakebook · 07/03/2013 14:36

I think I might be the only one here who hasn't contacted the GP yet about my pregnancy. I'm supposed to be taking aspirin too from BFP but I completely forgot until today. I need to do this tomorrow so they can book me in for early scans.

Stuffed, I'm also really stuffy in the nose. My sister told me I was pregnant 3 weeks ago Shock. We were talking on Skype and she kept telling me I was pregnant. I never discuss our ttc plans with her, so she must have had some kind of intuition! Now I'm trying to hide from her seeing me on Skype because she'll definitely notice my fat nose and find out!

Been weeing more today. I've felt a few flutters too but way too early to feel anything...unless I'm further along than I though. My last period was very short and light.

SpanishLady · 07/03/2013 14:47

Fake - I havent contacted clinic yet - where I am you have the booking in/bloods as one appointment anytime after 6 weeks - you then get a letter a week to 2 after advising of 12 week scan date - I got to this stage last pregnancy before I MC'd so am waiting it out abit longer this time....Im expecting not to see the MW therefore until Im 7-8 weeks.

dizzy - Im tempted to get a private scan too - theres a clinic near me that will do an early scan for £65 or dating scan (eg if you wait until week 8 +) for £75 - my DH thinks we shoudlnt bother as truth be told it doesnt change what will happen if its meant to happen but I think if I get to the stage I was last pregnancy (8+4) I might just to reassure myself

vix206 · 07/03/2013 16:00

I won't be contacting my gp for another month. They won't see me until I'm 10 weeks so there's little point in my contacting them before 8 weeks

retroelle · 07/03/2013 16:20

I'm seeing my gp next week when I'll be 5+1. I am pretty sure it will be a 30-second appointment but it will at least get me onto the system. My main concern with this is that I really don't like the nurse at my local GP clinic (calls you "darling" while being incredibly rude and insensitive) and I'm hoping the midwife will be nicer.

I am also considering a private scan, as I have a long-haul work trip (booked before I found out) when I'll be around 11 weeks pg and it would be nice to know if everything's ok before then.

I feel like I want to add "assuming it sticks" before every sentence talking about the future ...

MummaPanda · 07/03/2013 16:27

To those considering early scans, we had one with dd, not for pregnancy but for a cyst I had, we had not long found out I was pg. I was 6weeks along, and seeing her strong little heart beat, even though she was only a bean, was so amazing and I just knew then n there that she was strong enough to make it. So if your worrying about mc definitely do it!

I am tempted, I really am! This morning I was feelign really sick - though didn't vomit and throughout teh course of the day the symptons have come and gone. I know the cramps are just the baby bedding in so to speak.

Sorry to sound really thick here, but this whole week thing is confusing me. Some sites are saying I'm at week four and others are saying week 5. Hmmm.

Theicingontop · 07/03/2013 17:22

Perhaps they're rounding up or down, Dizzy?

I'm getting excited now, and I know I shouldn't yet. But I poas just now and it came up nice and dark before the control line - Ahhh! I knew I was pregnant before from eleven faint to light positives, but seeing my first dark result made me think, 'wow I am pregnant'.

OH didn't understand why I was suddenly excited and waving yet another stick around.

I want to knit something.

Dizzy81 · 07/03/2013 17:31

Probably.
HEHE, that's a great feeling!

I did my test and looked at it before teh 3 minutes and went I'm not pregnant. My DH got the test out the bin a bit later and told me the great news. The line was very dark.

YOu are well within your rights theicingontop to get excited and start kniting. It's an exciting time for us all but at the same time a bit nerve wracking.

I want to hear the heart beat and know everything is ok/

x

Thanks Suffolk, I am glad it's not just me. I will have a look at that site later.

stuffthenonsense · 07/03/2013 18:19

Fakebook I had fluttering a today too, I'm 5+6 on baby no6. I most definitely felt movement with no5 at 8 weeks, and it has got earlier with each pregnancy. Twice this week HVs gone to buy more digit eats and successfully talked myself out of it in the shop That is progress but now I'm wishing I had.
I hit 6 weeks tomorrow. It feels like a milestone.
