jammy yeah brushing my teeth has been vommy for me all through! Which is horrible because I hate being sick AFTER I've brushed!

MeanMrsMustard · 05/03/2013 10:54

Thanks Frogchops.

I have been to the GPs today. I was sick over the weekend. (temp, vomiting, chills) and then had the tiniest amount of pale pink discharge last night. I called the midwife who said don't worry about discharge, but as I'd taken the day off work I made a drs appointment because I was worried I had a UTI.
Turns out I was right, so I've been given amoxicillin to take this week. I'm going to take it a bit easier until the antibiotics are finished. My 16 week midwife appointment is a week tomorrow. I've heard that not much happens at the appointment, but hopefully I'll get to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler. Agghhhh!

frogchops · 05/03/2013 11:42

Just wondering what everyone is feeling atm? I'm 11+3 and suddenly don't feel pregnant. Nothing. Someone either reassure me or slap me. :-/

Readytosettle · 05/03/2013 11:47

frog I've had days like that & then it comes back & hits me again. Lots of acidic wind today...bleurgh!

Kittenkatzen · 05/03/2013 12:04

Hello lovely ladies, not been around for a few days, nice to see you've been busy filling up the thread though! :o

Will scroll back for a catch up in a bit, but firstly general to any newbies, and congrats to all the ladies with happy scan news!

hackney I'm so so sorry to read your news :( hope you are being looked after and you're getting lots of extra squidges from your DS x

froggy I agree with ready, my symptoms (which were mild to start with) definitely come and go. The only constant has been the exhaustion.

BinarySolo · 05/03/2013 12:07

Urgh. Been sick this morning. Now everything tastes funny. Have ate a snickers and prawn cocktail crisps washed down with dr pepper! Healthy!!

I'm 13+5 today. Thought this was supposed to stop. At least it's only about every 10 days or so now as apposed to twice a week.

kimjayne · 05/03/2013 12:27

Been a little sick today but mainly just feel boiling hot .. whilst everyone I work with have been complaining they are too cold and keep switching the air con off :(
This doesn't bode well for the summer when the weather is actually hot(ish). I am gonna be sweating buckets! Yuck.

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 05/03/2013 12:29

My BMI is 31 ish. I think here you get consultant care if it's over 35 which it was last time but have managed to lose a bit. I'm waiting for them to advise if I will be consultant led or not this time, they want to look at the notes from my last labour (I had a forceps delivery and my Blood Pressure went scary high at the end) before they decide. I'd quite like the reassurance of being consultant led if I'm honest!

JammyTummy · 05/03/2013 12:41

Just ordered an Angel Sounds Doppler from Amazon! It comes tomorrow, sooo excited!!!

BinarySolo · 05/03/2013 12:43

What actually happens when you're consultant led? I'm meeting a consultant after my next scan so would like to know what to expect.

MammaGnomes · 05/03/2013 13:05

Hello fellow mummy's to be

Well I've finally joined, I've been reading through your posts for a couple of weeks now!!

I'm 10+6 with my scan next wed 13th march v excited but also extremely nervous I suppose it's because it's the first actual confirmation that there is an actual baby in there!!!

Excited to share the rest of my pregnancy with you all!!

kimjayne · 05/03/2013 13:15

I have another question for you lovely lot, .... does anyone else have a constant need to clear their throat? It's like I am bunged up/ full of cattarh all the bloody time and no matter how much I cough it won't shift! I have looked at medication but everything says "do not use if pregnant". I have read online that this is caused by the increase in blood flow during pregnancy making the veins in our noses and throats swell. Which would explain the slight nose bleeds I have been getting.
I just wondered if anyone had found a cure / anything that might help shift this as it's driving me crazy!

JammyTummy · 05/03/2013 13:33

Yep kim I get that (and I think quite a lot of other ladies do too)- its gross and sometimes gets to the point that it starts making you gag! I've not heard of a cure yet, but always better after a steamy shower though!

Derpess · 05/03/2013 13:33

Hi everyone. I've been reading your messages since I got my bfp on 7 Jan and only just plucked up the courage to join!
Had my 12 week scan on Friday and there are 2 of the little beggars in there! My DH and I are delighted and terrified in equal measure!
Really worried about NT screening. Their measurements were both good 1.8 but combined with my bloods got a risk of 1:102 for one and 1:114 for the other. Sonographer was really ditzy and couldn't answer any questions (she already mixed up the results and gave us odds of 1:1200 then said she got mixed up as it was twins). grrrr.
Booked in to see consultant today at 4pm and discuss CVS. We are terrified. Anyway, been doing some reading (I know I shouldn't!) and have read that for multiple births the bloods should be discounted as there is higher level of the hormone they measure. Does this sound right and does anyone know anything else about this?

Wish me luck this afternoon and good luck to everyone with their scans.

Kittenkatzen · 05/03/2013 13:51

kim I get that on and off too - was visibly gagging as I walked along the street yesterday . I've found that icy cold drinks can help a little bit.

Welcome mammagnomes and derpess get yourselves over to the stats fred to log your details (link further up a bit) :)

derpess congrats on the twins!! We have a couple of twin mummies to be so you're in good company. Am sure one of them will be along shortly to offer advice on the bloods.

Serg · 05/03/2013 14:59

I'm having the most 'pregnant' day yet. Been sick all day and my ribs ache. Ouch.

Has anyone ordered / bought anything for their baby yet? I know it's early but I keep seeing things I want but can't bring myself to buy yet.

Creamtea1 · 05/03/2013 15:14

Yay another set of twins!! Congrats derpress :)
Our other twin mums are amidwifecrisis and andadietcoke - am sure they may know more about the bloods/nuchal - it does sound like your sonographer was pretty rubbish.

I've sort of bought something today... someone at work is selling a second hand play gym (padded mat with jingling things hanging from hoops) and I've reserved it.

chocciemousse · 05/03/2013 15:27

Hi. I haven't been on for a while and have tried to have a quick flick through the posts. To those ladies who are finding toothpaste makes them feel sick or vomit, I have had the same problem since about 6 weeks. I use kiddies toothpaste which has a bubblegum flavour. It is Colgate 4-6 years mild flavour. It says it is for milk teeth but I gathered using this was better than vomiting. Hope that helps.

Congratulations to all those with positive scan news!

frogchops · 05/03/2013 15:49

I definitely haven't just bought a travel system from kiddicare sale

Kittenkatzen · 05/03/2013 15:58

hahahaaaaaaaaa frogchops you've come over to the dark side :o:o

serg we've bought loads already. We decided to take advantage of the January sales and have already taken delivery of our pushchair, car seat, moses basket and bouncy chair. We also have a very cude wooden hand-carved wall mount thingy that we bought on holiday in Rome, and I was in the Disney store last week looking for a present for my neice and came out with a Winnie the Pooh sleepsuit and bib set. Ooops.

I'm not completely shameless though - I did refuse to buy any maternity wear and any baby clothes until after the 12 week scan......so as not to jink it......Confused

fl0b0t · 05/03/2013 16:05

YAY more twins! Welcome lurkers!

I am feeling totally awful today. Only been back at work two weeks after three weeks off sick, and I could curl up under my desk and sleep/cry/die (any of the above). Yes to horrible thick cattarh throat, gagging as walking along the street and generally feeling crappy mc rubbish. I think I did "too much" this weekend (birthday lunch with friends and kitchen shopping) so now I'm just wrecked.

I've not bought anything but DH admitted he'd bought some books!! I really want to buy these cute little felted bunny slippers I've seen in a nice posh organic hippy shop in Oxford. Only £15 but totally impractical!

We don't plan to buy much new (don't see the point if it's going to be covered in sick and sh!t!) and hoping to gather second hand things from friends and some relatives! :)

frogchops · 05/03/2013 16:09

But at £269 instead of £479?!??
It was like finding Victoria's Secret pants for a pound!

Creamtea1 · 05/03/2013 16:09

I haven't bought anything yet but have got my only remaining baby stuff our the loft: cot, 2 blankets, changing mat - that's it!
