After feeling sick for most of monday, tuesday and this morning a quick smell of the chip shop as I walked past on my lunch break had me running for food! I've never been a big eater but just ate a whole portion of chips, fish and mushy peas! Probably going to regret it later, but for now all I want to do is nap! If only I didn't have a job :( x

Natalieand · 27/02/2013 15:30

Not much better when u don't have a job star lol at least if things get bad u can get signed off from work I'm not quite sure my hubby would accept a sick note from being a mum/wife for 2 weeks lol, jus spoke to hospital RE: children coming along for ultrasounds and the lady said its absolutely fine :-) so back to plan a of dd coming along to 12 week scan. I can't honestly say I am feeling more hungry but I want to eat more for sure! Dh's birthday this week so probly have a meal out with his family and a meal out on our own , any excuse and all :-).
Congrats on the the twins cuille xxx amazing news

delilah r u ok? Haven't seen your name pop up for a few days xx

EuroShaggleton · 27/02/2013 15:48

I'm glad to hear that your consultant things all is well Roofio!

cuillere that is a well-timed half-term! My husband has eased up a bit. In the early days he followed me around the house, taking anything I was carrying off me and once tried to actually carry me Shock. He was only half joking around.

natalie I know delilah from one of the IVF threads over in conception, and unfortunately things went wrong for her this week. I am very sorry to say that she is no longer pregnant. SHe has been in hospital but is now at home, recovering. I hope she won't mind me putting this here. I don't feel that it is my place, but I doubt that this is a thread that she wants to come on to at the moment.

Natalieand · 27/02/2013 15:58

Ahhh no! She said she was experiencing bleeding went for a scan and was expecting twins and thought things were looking up, so I guess since that message things didn't work out u mean? How awful for her, send her our love if she pops up on the other thread you know her from. Xx l

Rockchick1984 · 27/02/2013 16:00

Euro please give Delilah my condolences, I hope she's got lots of real life support to get her through this Sad

Flyer747 · 27/02/2013 16:11

beckybeck regarding the use of insect repellant I was told to stay away from deet where possible. You can use an insect repellant which contains citronella in it (that's quite safe) I've recently returned from Batbados where I always get bitten, I was told unless you are visiting a country which has a risk of malaria then best not to use anything in pregnancy. I hope this helps. Have a lovely break in the sun

cherrycherry41 · 27/02/2013 16:21

I am in floods of tears after reading delilahbelle's loss on the conception thread Sad
Serves me right for being nosy cow. Please send all our love and sympathies anyone who knows her a little better! Thanks

beckybeck · 27/02/2013 16:23

flyer747 - thanks for the info. i knew DEET would be bad, but i have such severe reactions would like to avoid bites wherever possible! i'll look into citronella stuff.

Iheartcrunchiebars · 27/02/2013 16:35

So sad for Delilah.

Roofio that is great news. Glad it was nothing to worry about.

You lot who are being spoiled are so lucky! If I say I cant help lift something ((it weighed about 50kgs) I get an eye roll and told I'm being dramatic!!!

The next thread should be the Hula Hoops thread!

cuillereasoupe · 27/02/2013 16:39

Oh dear so sorry to hear about Delilah. Can you pass on my condolences if you think it's appropriate?

racheld33 · 27/02/2013 16:41

So sorry to hear about delilah sending lots of love Sad

Glad all was well at consultant roofio Brew

bronzemoth as the threads dentist I can confess also to only doing a 'courtesy' brush in the morning at the moment, was exactly same with my last pregnancy. I stay away from the back teeth in the morning. At night time I then do an OCD style floss/double brush, and that is definitely ok for the next few months! Grin

pinksky · 27/02/2013 16:51

I'm so sorry to hear delilahbelle's sad news. Thinking of her X

roxvox · 27/02/2013 17:17

So sorry to hear delilahbelles news. I would probably avoid this forum too if I found out the worst. Please pass on my condolences if it seems appropriate to do so.

racheld33 it amuses me that your first post on this forum was something along the lines of "I'm a dentist (no boo's!)" when in actual fact you've got the opposite response with loads of questions! I do have a question also though, if that's ok? Most nights when I brush my teeth I have been getting a lot of blood (not masses, but enough to stain the toothpaste red and then a lot of spitting of bright red blood following it too). I have been trying to keep on top of my dental health with regular flossing as well as the usual, but I am not sure if I should perhaps switch to a soft toothbrush for the time being? I don't have a dentist appointment for a month or so, and will obviously ask them what they think when they do the check up and can see my mouth for themselves!

I will write a proper post later, but am (supposedly) working right now and typing all this out on my phone.

TheFalconsmistress · 27/02/2013 17:54

Please pass my condolences onto delilahbelle i am very sad for her Thanks

I've also just read delilah story and I'm so so sad for her. Even though I don't know her really its funny how being here and getting so paranoid and excited with you all makes me feel really emotional and connected.

I don't know if anyone remembers mamab who was on the first thread? She had some bleeding and was in bed rest, awaiting another scan, but was just so lovely and positive even though those of us who were lucky enough to have nothing to worry about were being so scared and paranoid. And then she stopped posting, and I keep thinking about her and hoping she is okay and that she is just having an Internet problem, but fearing the worst for her too :-(

notsoold · 27/02/2013 19:33

Delilah...I am so sorry...xxx

Umlauf....I know that you mean and I remember mamab and hope she is well. It is my concern that things are not going well that holds me from adding my name to the list...
I was part of the January 2013 thread and it was in itself difficult to say goodbye to all the girls because of my mmc... Not all of us will make to the finishing line ( I am painfully aware that I might not) and if one day I stop posting I just want to say to each and everyone of you that I do hope that you arms will have a baby to hold and I hope that joy will be your friend....

Back to lurking...

racheld33 · 27/02/2013 19:51

Hi roxvox it's funny being a dentist, most people are interested and ask lots of questions (which I don't mind) but some people won't look me in the eye!

As for the bleeding gums... If you were not pregnant and had bleeding gums I would say you have gum inflammation which is not ideal, and can be a sign of gum disease, and in 99.9% of people it is due to inadequate oral hygiene (which no one likes to hear but is undeniably true), I would then be telling you to brush your teeth and gums for 2-3 mins twice a day and floss daily (if not twice/day as I do when i don't have MS) with a medium bristle toothbrush (or electric) and regular scaling at dentist. And then bleeding should stop over time and only come back if oral hygiene drops again.
However if this is only a pregnancy problem it is likely to be pure inflammation due to hormones, and ideally you keep up as good oral hygiene as you can, and just ride it out (soft toothbrush would only be advised if gums sore, but if just bleeding then stick with medium toothbrush for good quality clean)
Personally I couldn't live without my electric toothbrush and find I can get gum problems if I use a normal toothbrush, or if I don't floss.
Sorry for very long reply but hard to sum up in short message Grin

RainbowsFriend · 27/02/2013 20:00

Just seen on a thread in pregnancy that chamomile tea is not good for developing hearts and should be avoided in early pregnancy!

I've been drinking loads as it was helping the nausea :(

OrangeBlossom2 · 27/02/2013 20:30

I used citronella on our first day in the rainforest on our honeymoon this December and got 16 very large, very painful mosquito bites. I wouldn't recommend relying on it! Also, it had to be reapplied every half hour which was not practical. I then switched to 100% deet though so no helpful suggestions, sorry.

I couldn't brush my teeth at the back after I had my tonsils out this year, mainly it just made my mouth taste even worse that it probably needed to, but no lasting damage when I went to the dentist to get them cleaned a few months later. I used a strong hydrogen peroxide mouthwash which probably killed everything!

Huge congrats on the twins and really sorry to hear more sad news. This baby making process doesn't seem to run as smoothly as you imagine in the days when you are trying to avoid making one.

Felt sick pretty much all day and now lower back ache like I get before a period which I am hoping is not a bad sign but don't want to google it as there is so much scary information on the Internet.

roxvox · 27/02/2013 20:55

Thank you racheld33

I believe that the bleeding gums are only due to the pregnancy. I think that I have always had good oral hygiene, and if anything I have stepped it up a gear since getting pregnant! I may look to invest in an electric toothbrush too Smile - thank you again, I appreciate the advice.

Flyer747 · 27/02/2013 21:11

Are you all watching one born every minute? With my erratic hormones I'm like a blubbering mess when the babies are born...fingers crossed this will be all of us come October

pinkmoonlight · 27/02/2013 21:47

I'm watching it... before being pregnant I loved watching it and, weirdly, thought that learning more about what can happen would prepare me. Feel a lot more scared and emotional watching it now!

chickieno1 · 27/02/2013 21:55

Congrats cuille

Glad your consultant was able to reassure you roofio.

Thinking of you Hayle.

Have nausea, sore boobs and insomnia here. Constipation a little better but still bloated at the end of the day.

I had pretty bad nausea in the morning with my first and brushing my teeth was very difficult. I had a tupperware with dry crackers by my bed and would have one before I got up. Helped a bit.......... or maybe try breakfast and then brush your teeth a little while after?

pinksky · 27/02/2013 22:31

Is anyone up? This is tmi, sorry... i have been bleeding a little today and just had a shower and a large - 3 inches i guess - clot 'fell' out (didn't feel it coming). Some lower abdominal pain but nothing too bad. Am worried. D you think I should go to the epu in the morning or just ignore?

thethreeblondies · 27/02/2013 22:35

I would ring a mw in the morning pinky they will probably ask u to go to epu to get checked out, xx
