Natalieand is right pinksky. I had it a few weeks ago and paracetamol was a lifesaver. As well as a hot water bottle, cosy jumper and really hot thai chicken soup. Get well soon.

pinksky · 26/02/2013 17:44

Thanks so much all X

Tarlia · 26/02/2013 17:47

Roofio hope you are feeling a little better now. Such a worry, but lovely to have a dentist on board the bus. Wonder if we have any secret doctors or gyne? We sure have lots of teachers!

My scan was short and sweet today, baby resembles a blob possibly with hands and feet and has a flashy bit. DS ran round the room leaving a trail of raisins which looked like rabbit droppings. She went with my edd as the two measurements from different angles were 2 days either side.

moonblues · 26/02/2013 17:50

Hi pinksky. I agree 2 paracetamol every 4 to 6 hours and plenty of fluids. You can have antibiotics if you're pregnant so if your temperature isn't coming down or if your getting a chesty cough or pain when you're peeing I would go and see your GP. Hope you feel better soon.

textbook · 26/02/2013 17:54

Hi thethreeblondies - thanks, and sorry you've had a blighted ovum mmc too, it's bloody awful Sad

However, BOs are freak occurrences and chances are all is going well in there this time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, try not to worry too much (yeah right!) xx

racheld33 · 26/02/2013 18:10

Hi doobeedee

We're not meant to put silver fillings (amalgam) in any one who is pregnant, just in case (never been tested).
Some temporary fillings can last years (!) so if it was my tooth I'd leave it for the moment, wait till after your 12 weeks and happy to tell everyone, and then go see your dentist for a chat. if your temporary filling looks ok, likely your dentist will leave it alone and replace after you've had your baby. In the mean time if it chips/gets sensitive then you'll probably need to get the temporary one replaced/repaired, but hopefully that won't be numbing/drilling-more a case of just keep patching it up. Hope that helps! Smile

Natalieand · 26/02/2013 18:11

Sorry to sound dumb? But what is a blighted ovum? Xx

thethreeblondies · 26/02/2013 18:24

I'll clarify but to be clear blighted ovums are very rare so nobody panuc please!Grin Basically things stop developing or go wrong early on in pg and sometimes you get no bleeding or cramping and get a shock at your 12 week scan when there's nothing to see. Very Very Rare!

doobeedee · 26/02/2013 18:55

Thanks Rachel. That's really helpful. The temp one is starting to wear away a bit I think as I'm starting to feel cold drinks etc through it again. I'll make an appointment after 12 weeks and see what she says.

OrangeBlossom2 · 26/02/2013 19:22

Just to another person to the sore mouth list, I too have had a mouth ulcer and a sore tongue a bit like I have burnt or scratched it this week.

doobeedee · 26/02/2013 19:51

I have also developed an ulcer today! Not many symptoms at all but do get the slightly sick feeling when hungry. I also keep getting static shocks off everything metal that I touch, usually door handles, the car door and my laptop! Anyone else got that weird symptom?

polkadotsrock · 26/02/2013 19:53

Oh my gosh, this bus is sooo busy! Room for another little one? Can't lie- have not read the 31 pages so may ask annoying/repetitive questions if you do let me in... I'm not selling well here am I??

Tarlia · 26/02/2013 20:05

Come on up and get comfy polka. What are your stats?

doobee I get days like that when not preg, has it been happening for more than a day?

RainbowsFriend · 26/02/2013 20:07

Ulcer here as well!

Welcome polkadotsrock - always room for another :)

Does anyone else find that they just have to lie flat once a certain point of the evening is reached? The nausea is just horrible, but lying flat seems to help!

Toddler is getting used to me lying on the sofa and reading books to her but not otherwise interacting much :(

pinkbuttons · 26/02/2013 20:15

busy busy day on here!
Hi to everyone whos joined today!
sorry scan wasnt completely reassuring notsoold lets hope yout bean catches ip in the next week or so.
sorry to everyone with painful mouths! seems to be a symptom ive missed so far...
Had my booking in appt. and have come home very happy. Have been referred to consultant care but mw thinks theyll just check my thyroid and send me back to GP to be cared for. She also said that there would be no reason I couldnt give birth in our lovely midwife lead birth centre if thyroid stays under control Grin completely chuffed that its a possibility. will just have to wait and see.
Shes also going to phone about my scan date being at 13 weeks just incase my first scan wasnt fully accurate.
Hope everyone has a peaceful none stressful and insomnia free night.

roofio87 · 26/02/2013 20:18

I know its mean, but I'm glad that sore mouths and ulcers seem to be a common complaint amongst you ladies, makes me feel a lot better!! Smile Smile

FeministInTraining · 26/02/2013 20:24

Evening all, no ulcers here although I am now running my tongue along my teeth and it feels a bit funny... think I'm losing the plot! Have been reading while on the journey to/from work but I forget who says what so apologies if I misquote. I second Natalie (I think)- 7 weeks tomorrow sounds so much better than 6+6, sorry that you've had mixed news but happy for your little bean with a heartbeat. Congrats to all that have seen their beans and fx for those waiting.

Booking in this Friday- seems strangely early, maybe because I did a self referral rather than going to GP or maybe because this is straight after MC so they don't trust my dates...? Either way I'm not complaining but am yet to receive scan dates.

Someone mentioned wind. Up at 5am for the past 2 nights sitting on the toilet waiting for said wind to shift, stomach bloated as if I'm at least 16 weeks until I've sat there a while sorry tmi! Blush

Think DP finds it quite amusing Hmm

TDD32 · 26/02/2013 20:37

Good evening all,

Wow very busy this evening.

First my thoughts are with everyone that had worrying news. Really pleased to read about some of the positive news too. Hi to all newbies.

Feminist I am the windy girl Blush. I was bloated and today I seem to have pop the cork.. Sorry gross I know. DP is a bit winded (excuse the pun) but I have had to live with his wind for years.... Smile

Pinksky, some great advice from people. I hope you feel better soon.

Flyer747 · 26/02/2013 20:39

FeministInTraining, I also have terrible wind, my other half thinks he is living with a man haha! I believe it's quite normal. Also totally agree with the stomach I felt like I was ready to burst....the joys of pregnancy hey.

FeministInTraining · 26/02/2013 20:54

TDD and Flyer, glad it's not just me- "DP is a bit winded" made me giggle!

Natalieand · 26/02/2013 20:56

I haven't had mouth ulcers but I have had a cold sore, ouch! Popped into Asda earlier and dunno if It was pregnancy or hunger related but I literally felt like wherever I turned I was gunna vom straight into someone's trolley lol. Saw gp today too for another blood pressure check and it seems too have settled down in the last week. Gp was very sympathetic towards the twin situation changing into a single pregnancy. Now I have a 5 week count down to my scan and taking dd too this scan too too help start getting her prepared an seeing it on the screen. Roll on April 3rd!!!!!

Sal1977 · 26/02/2013 20:57

Tip: if you have wind that you need to shift go on all fours and stick your bun in the air and kind of rock backwards and forwards. Works a treat!

Also, for those who are craving salty foods but are worried about eating crap all day, I found that a slimasoup worked a treat! Xx

Sal1977 · 26/02/2013 20:58

*stick your BUM in the air. Eat the bun...

polkadotsrock · 26/02/2013 20:58

Not sure what stats are required- I'm 27, baby no 2, 5+1. Anything missing?? Very early days, I sneak in right at the end of Oct. Not a symptom to be seen/felt but I'm sure being in here will send me hunting!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 26/02/2013 21:03

I had 4 chicken nuggets and a scone and jam for tea.

What I really want is a packet of Pringles I can lick the salt off. Head in hands. I am normally one of those really irritating people who only eats free range meat, lots of fruit and veg and only drink water and green tea.
