Hope consultant puts your mind at rest roof

9.1 weeks here and still no MS. Just achey boobs and lower back pain has set in in the last couple of days. Got my booking appointment with MW next Tuesday. Should H2B come to that? Scan 3 weeks today! Grin

slippysnow · 26/02/2013 14:39

Hi roofio. I just wanted to say that I had a mouth ulcer right at the back of my tongue near my molars. It's aprarently linked to the hormonal change your body goes through. It didn't feel like a mouth ulcer though it felt as if my whole mouth was swollen. It must be very worrying and I really don't blame you for panicking, perhaps you should double check with your gp who knows your history. But, thought I'd share my experience with you to try to put you at ease :)

Irishfairy · 26/02/2013 14:40

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, scan went really well, saw heartbeat and measuring at about 7+6 so spot on for the dates. Phew big relief! They said the bleeding was just one of those things, they didn't have any explanation for it. So anyone who has had bleeding, have faith!
Hope everyone one else who has scans are ok?
Roofio hope your tongue is ok, don't know if it's a pregnancy thing or a coincidence but I've had a sore/tender mouth for the last two days and I'm around the same stage as you.

TDD32 · 26/02/2013 14:41

Sorry to hear that Roofio. All the best for tomorrow.

Just wondering... Is anyone else suffering from a major case of WIND..... Today has been very bad. It just wont stop coming.... I never normally fart...Blush

thethreeblondies · 26/02/2013 14:43

Roofio I'll echo what Slippy said I had an ulcer right at the back, almost like I had bitten the side of my cheek with emerging wisdom tooth, horrible! Glad u are seeing your consultant for some reassurance must be worrying in the circumstances xx

Mikyahrose · 26/02/2013 15:19

Hey everyone. I got a BFP last week, going by my dates i'm currently 5+5 with a EDD of 24th. I'm guessing that'll change at the 12 week scan though. I'm also a fast worker with a 5 month old DS. He was born Oct 1st last year.
Feeling well so far, with no signs of pregnancy. I'm hoping this pg will be as good as my last which went very smoothly. Also feeling very relaxed about it all compared to last time. I think thats probably to do with going through it all quite recently and having DS1 to look after - im too busy reading up about weaning to have time to read up on the progress of this one at the moment. I remember what a long time it seemed from finding out to having the 12 wk scan, so this time i'm gonna wait till the scan and then get all excited about it. Thats not to say i'm not excited though, as i really am. Also a little bit Eeeeeek!

Natalieand · 26/02/2013 15:29

Feeling a little cheerier today after yesterday's sad news. I have my 12 week scan date through for my one remaining blue berry :-) April 3rd at 10.20. When I will be exactly 12 weeks (according to lmp date) and also have midwife on April 11th for our second appt. 6+6 today can't wait to say 7 weeks it sounds much further gone lol hope everyone else is ok xxxx and welcome to all the newbies :-) xxx

star87 · 26/02/2013 15:32

Can I join in? :)

I'm 6 weeks exactly today and due 22nd October judging by my dates. This will be my first and I am both excited and nervous at the moment. My sister had a total of 5 miscarriages, before 8 weeks, before she was able to carry full term and at the ages on 19-21 and my mum had two before the 8 weeks mark when she is 19. I have convinced myself that the same will happen to me although I am a lot older than they were, 25.

Does anyone else worry about this? I can't wait for my first scan so that I can actually see that everything is ok.

textbook · 26/02/2013 16:04

Hello - another newbie! I've been lurking for what seems like ages, but too scared to join after a MMC picked up at 12wk scan in November. It was a blighted ovum, so nothing had ever developed Sad

However... just had an early scan at 8+1 today and seen a perfect heartbeat and tiny, freaky-looking baby, so would like to be brave and join in as you all seem so lovely!

Can someone add me please?

textbook, 28, EDD 7th October, 1DC (5)

Sal1977 · 26/02/2013 16:18

Well, I seem to be a ball of anxiety permanently now. Have booked the wedding for June 14th when I'll be 23 weeks. Am totally cacking it! Haha...gulp.

notsoold · 26/02/2013 16:37

Hi all....just back from my scan and mixed feeling really. The good news is that the yolk sac is at the right place (and not ectopic although I am still in pain). But no fetal pole was found and they said that maybe pregancy is around 5 weeks???I will have to return on the 7th March for another scan. The MW was lovely but pretty much said to me to prepare myself for the worst :(

Sorry about the me,me,me post!!!

Sal1977 · 26/02/2013 16:48

Ah crap Notsoold! Do you know what your dates are? Ie do you know when you ovulated? Xx

racheld33 · 26/02/2013 16:59

HI roofio just wanted to say all will be fine with your tongue, and glad you are seeing your consultant tomorrow so he can put you at ease.
I am a dentist (no boo's please!) and it is so normal for everything from sore tongue, ulcers, bleeding gums. With your history (and likely scar tissue/previous surgery sites) you are very more likely to experience soreness, especially early on with hormones changing so much, so advice of soft diet, nothing to hot or spicy to avoid aggravating it x

thethreeblondies · 26/02/2013 17:03

Hi textbook I had a mmc with blighted ovum last june, so glad u had a good scan this time, I'm 6+3 and seeing mw next mon, I'm bricking it this time around too x

Sorry it wasn't great news notso I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for u, hopefully it was late ov/slow implantation xx

notsoold · 26/02/2013 17:07

Sal I ovulated around 27/28 of January... (and we dtd on 25and 26th)...

JellyCurls · 26/02/2013 17:13

Hugs notsoold hoping your next scan goes well and that today has just been a bit early yo see anything.

Welcome to all newbies

Rockchick1984 · 26/02/2013 17:15

Notso those dates are still possible for you to be around 5 weeks - that's quite late in your cycle for ovulation (I think your dates were about the same as mine, I'm 6+4 today but scan put me a couple of days behind what I expected). I OV'd on 22nd Jan, so if you were nearly a week behind that and allowing a couple of days difference for implantation you could easily be around the 5 week mark (if I've calculated that right!).

doobeedee · 26/02/2013 17:16

Rachel can I ask you a dentisty question? I have a very small temporary filling. The reason I have it is because I did have a white one but I didn't agree with me and hurt all the time so dentist put the temp one for a few months to see if it was the white one causing the prob. I was supposed to go back at half term but cancelled as I didn't want to tell her I was pregnant yet (I know the dental nurse) I'm going to book again after the 12 week scan but not sure what shell do now. As far as I understand it I can't have a silver filling when pg and the white doesn't agree with me. Do you think I'll have to keep going back for temp ones while preg? Also, how long are the temp ones supposed to last?

notsoold · 26/02/2013 17:18

I will hold to that thought Rock and I really hope you are right...although the MW did not seem to think that a positive outcome is possible....
Jelly thanks!

roofio87 · 26/02/2013 17:20

racheld33 thank you so much, you've put my mind at ease so much. I hadn't thought about the scar tissue being more sensitive I was just thinking about it being right next to where the original cancer had been but you're right. I just really panic over things like this, but my consultant is amazing and I'm sure I'll be kept a close eye on!! my mouth is extra sensitive to everything now anyway so I'm sure the hormones etc aren't helping. thanks for all your kind words ladies, didn't mean to go into meltdown mode!!

pinksky · 26/02/2013 17:22

notsoold I'm so sorry your scan was worrying. I know it'll be a tough week until your next scan but I really hope you'll have good news then. Early scans are difficult- I've seen many stories of good outcomes. I'm sending my very best wishes to you X

And roofio hope you're doing ok- great to have racheld33's advice

Can I ask advice? Feeling rotten & temp is currently 38.7. Think it's flu. There's sod all the GP can do, is there? I'm trying to stay cool even though I feel freezing, keeping fluid up etc.

notsoold · 26/02/2013 17:25

pink some chicken soup or nice warming and nutricious food???But the GP might be able to help with the temperature....
And thanks for your best wishes

Natalieand · 26/02/2013 17:30

Awe notsoold hope 7march comes round ASAP. I had a scan at (5+5) by my dates and only saw a yolk sac and sonographers said I was 4-5 weeks and when I had a scan yesterday they said I am 5+4 but I was 6+5 by my dates so sometimes they r just slightly out tbh. pinksky take paracetamol 4 hourly to keep temp down and keep your fluids up till the bug passes, hope u feel better soon! Xxx

JellyCurls · 26/02/2013 17:32

pink plenty hot drinks, paracetamol if you need it and rest. That's what GP would tell you if you we're not pregnant so guess advice is the same.
