Good luck with all of the scans tomorrow ladies. I'm still to book mine, couldn't get hold of a gyne this morning grr. On a positive my BP and urine were fine today, after the awful results on Friday! I was sure it was a blip as I'd been running round the city collecting a sick toddler and making it to my appointment by the skin of my teeth. Running and I are not friends on the best of days, let alone when so queasy.
nat I'm sorry to hear about your vanishing twin :( but very pleased to hear there is one strong heartbeat. I know it's not helpful now, but it may be helpful to know later lots go through this, but because people are not generally scanned so early most would never have any idea. Think of it this way, now you'll be able to cuddle both of your beautiful DC at the same time without a pouty one.
I love those maternity shots, not my thing to get one but love looking at them a) I'm nosey b) pregnancy is facinating. I wish I'd kept a pregnancy and photo diary last time. Not that I'm doing anything about it this time...yet...!?
Food, now I want gingernuts but I too would have to pay stupid delivery. Perhaps I'll bake some extra gingery biscuits once I have this new place under control. My diet is up and down, but greens are something I'm not good at eating :S
Sorry to read about the awful GP, sounds like a cow. In this country (scandi) it's becoming very normal to have first baby after 35. Be aware that you have the right to refuse any tests, internals etc etc. perhaps what you need to think about is IF the test NF scan came back with a high chance of Downs would you abort? Would you go on to have amniotic fluid taken to be a bit more sure if baby 'might' have downs? (this can cause miscarriage) If you answer no to both the above, and would keep baby regardless, then maybe you need to decline the indepth scan? As for spinabifida, if a junkie can have a perfectly healthy baby then anyone can, many foods in the uk are as standard fortified with extra folicacid - bread, cereals etc. Try not to worry yourself.
Its just me looking at the maternity jeans in the wardrob already trying to calculate when i can wear them then... I think I had them on at 14 weeks last time, though they fell down a bit, but my normal jeans were falling under a little 'pot belly' which I didn't like at all.
Restful nights all round x
