Nauseous this morning. I'm both :( and :) about it!

favellio · 25/02/2013 09:04

Thanks guys. I'll shall be smothering myself in E45 cream tonight. I also found a hot shower helped this morning. Now to deal with this dammed sicky feeling :-/

BirdsDoIt · 25/02/2013 09:23

Ha ha, I have incredibly itchy legs too and thought it was some kind of prickly heat from sitting too close to the fire for most of the weekend because I've been feeling really cold! Will ask midwife about it on Wednesday. I know it sounds strange but I always feel quite pleased when I've got some odd symptom and only afterwards realise it's linked with being pregnant - feels like maybe I'm not imagining the whole thing after all!

Survived a weekend at home with my family without raising too many suspicions, I think - thank goodness I can tell them next time I see them at Easter.

To anyone who's worrying about telling work - I was SO worried about telling my boss but did the deed on Friday (thought I was going to puke beforehand, was incredibly nervous) and she was absolutely lovely and I'm so relieved and pleased she knows now. Phew!

Hope everyone has a happy Monday x

Morning ladies. Rang the hospital and managed to get my scan moved from 9th April to 27th march. My appointment is 8.40am so don't have to spend all day fretting. Much much happier now & also managed a virtually full nights sleep which was much needed. Just need to get my booking in appointment from the midwife now.

TheFalconsmistress · 25/02/2013 09:52

Morning all. Just been for my scan and twins are no more for me :-( baby b has turned into a bleeding alongside baby a's sac so that's a bit sad not really sure how I feel about it tbh but on the plus side baby a is still going strong and has a heart beat. Due date has been changed from 16/10 to 24/10 if someone would mind altering our ever growing list? My due date change has upset me too cos I would have been 7 weeks on Wednesday and I feel that sounds like more substantial figures but now I won't even be 6 weeks until Thursday. Also with my EDD at 24/10 it means baby is due 8 days before dd 3rd birthday and I really don't want them to share a birthday or for baby's birth to take over everyone being excited for her birthday! Feeling extremely emotional right now and sat crying in the car outside the hospital hmmmppphhh thinking I may tell a few fiends in meeting this afternoon and maybe they can help cheer me up. Hope everyone else is

Natalieand · 25/02/2013 10:40

Everyone else is ok today * xxxx

HotSoupDumpling · 25/02/2013 10:49

Natalie - sending much hugs and comfort your way. I'm sure your friends and family will be very sensitive towards your older DD's birthday date and will make sure each child is made to feel special.

moonblues · 25/02/2013 10:50

Natalie I'm sorry that you're sad. Sometimes I think it would be easier if we didn't have early scans and didn't know. A few of my friends have had a the same thing happen to them and though sad at the beginning have felt better about having one healthy baby as the pregnancy has gone on.
My DCs birthdays are 3 days apart. We still managed to make a big fuss and they like having a big joint birthday party.
Hope you feel happier soon.

TheFalconsmistress · 25/02/2013 11:01

Big hugs natalie my Ds birthday is on my mums birthday he loves it and even more fuss is made Smile baby heartbeat is great news though, even though i cant understand how hard it must be losing baby b tell your friends support is very important xxx

thethreeblondies · 25/02/2013 11:14

Sorry for the mixed news Natalie your due date might change again at 12wk scan (early ones aren't that accurate because the measurements are so tiny) but even if it doesn't my DD's bdays are 8days apart (DD2 came on her due date but as DD1 was 3wks early I was worried for closer bdays!) They love having close bdays as no one is left out of presents! xx

EuroShaggleton · 25/02/2013 11:27

natalie I am sorry about the bittersweet scan news. One of my friends who had IVF had a "vanishing twin". It was so sad at the time, but she went on to have a lovely healthy girl.

For the last 12 hours I have had a weird pinchy feeling in my womb area. It comes on once or twice an hour and is really quite painful. Has anyone else had this?

pinksky · 25/02/2013 12:10

I'm sorry about your scan news, Natalie, although obviously it's wonderful that baby a is doing well. Like Euro said, very bittersweet. I hope you can get lots of hugs and support IRL.

Sorry to hear about all the MS - take care everyone X

Umlauf · 25/02/2013 12:16

Hi, I've not been on for a while as it reminds me how not far along I am and makes me very jealous about not getting a scan until 13 weeks!

So sorry for your loss natalieand but the one little heartbeat going strong is amazing news. It must feel very bittersweet and hammer home how precious your baby will be/is.

I don't think that close birthdays will be a problem at all, your DC will have a baby brother or sister - can you think of a better birthday present?!! And in terms of practicalities you can do all sorts of combined treats when they are older.

Not really had much to say as luckily not really suffering hugely from symptoms other than mild nausea and tiredness. I'm a teacher too (although tefl so not 'proper') and its lucky I'm not suffering because there are absolutely no allowances made for me and I'm expected to pull my weight as much as anyone else. I have been making students do the carrying of furniture though!

cazboldy · 25/02/2013 12:33

sorry about your bad news natalie - but at least there was some good too!

sending you much love xxx

Flyer747 · 25/02/2013 12:35

natalieand sorry to hear of your sad news...my best friend had a disappearing twin at 16 weeks, and went onto have a beautiful healthy little girl...how lovely to hear a strong little heartbeat, but as you say it's bittersweet.

So many teachers on here, I'm currently unable to continue with my job, (I'm a long haul air stewardess) and you cannot fly/work as one when pregnant, so I'm sat at home bored awaiting to be told which department I will be working in for the remainder of my pregnancy, lots of time on hands= too much time to think and worry!!

Just wondered if anyone has had this symptom, I have a slight swelling on the lower right hand side of my abdomen, it's not painful, maybe a tad tender but comes and goes, going to DR's this afternoon, but hoping its nothing to be concerned about...I kinda thought it might be a fibroid.

TDD32 · 25/02/2013 13:48

Natalie, I am really sorry to hear your news. But I am also really pleased to hear the other baby is doing well. Sending you all my best wishes and thoughts.

Today feels strange. Went to see my doctor and she said that my first scan would be at 20 weeks. I really thought I would have at least two scans but no such luck. :-(. DP and I will look to go private to get the early scan. I really want to see the scan because it all feels unreal and I want to know the baby is growing as expected. Nearly bought another test today just to make sure the first two weren't wrong. Has anyone else been told they won't get their first scan till 20 weeks? On a positive note, I have my first MW appointment Wednesday morning. Apparently will need to have a whole load of tests to make sure baby is healthy because I am over 35.

On a different note. For those wondering whether exercise is safe. I spoke with my doctor and she said exercise was fine. The only thing she would not want me to do is horse riding and step classes. Just need to ensure you are aware of the bump and use a heart monitor because you need to monitor your heart rate so you don't get high blood pressure.

pinksky · 25/02/2013 14:10

Flyer all the best for the docs. I think a few ppl have had swelling in the ovary that they ovulated from?

TDD i'd wait and see what the midwife says - I can't see how your GP can be right on that.

PseudoBadger · 25/02/2013 14:12

Has anyone else not even seen a doctor or registered with the MW yet? I'm 6+3 so it's not late, but I'm feeling left out!

pinksky · 25/02/2013 14:12

NHS says all women offered both dating and anomaly scan:

pinksky · 25/02/2013 14:14

Me, PseudoBadger! Well I did see the GP about my bleeding but he was useless. You can't call to arrange your booking in appt until you are over 7 weeks here. Is it the same for you?

HotSoupDumpling · 25/02/2013 14:16

TDD - if you are in the UK, your doctor must be wrong. As pinksky says, all hospitals must offer at least two scans during pregnancy according to the NHS website.

roofio87 · 25/02/2013 14:26

I've seen my gp but just to tell them I'm pregnant, not seeing mw until next week at 9+1!!

EuroShaggleton · 25/02/2013 14:26

pseudo I'm not doing anything yet. As a long term ttcer, I am still in disbelief that this is happening. I have an early scan with my IVF clinic this week, at 6+1. If all is well then, I will do something about seeing dr/midwife or whatever they want you to do at my surgery.

PseudoBadger · 25/02/2013 14:28

I have a gp appt on weds where she'll refer me to the MW. I'm just feeling a bit weird about this pregnancy after my mc in December, where all was fine until I bled at 11+6. I think I'm just taking one day at a time.
