PhieEl06 · 02/03/2013 10:46

Dinky yeah I think it is, I like the look of the materials on the M&P's Urbo & I have found I really like the UPPAbaby CRUZ but the one thing that massively puts me off is the limited colours (wow I sounds like a right fussy tw**).

Mystery my boyfriend tells me to stop being so awkward when I describe things as "eurrrgh" or "like something my blind nan would choose". I have looked at it but I don't like the silver bits around the seat, is that extremely fussy?

Guavasforbreakfast · 02/03/2013 11:00

Long catch up, have been off for ages due to very busy first week back at school - I missed the kids but they are exhausting!

huffpot if you're still around, thinking of you and hope the induction goes smoothly.
Devil I've found that putting e45 emollient oil in the bath works well.
White I found out we were having a boy too yesterday, you're so right about it making it more real. I'm loving calling him a he Smile
Photographer like others have said, I have an anterior placenta and have been totally unsure whether I'm feeling movement. Midwife said it could be another few weeks before I'm sure.
Phie I have the urbo - i think alot of those reviews are of the old version, they've made changes to it. I love it!
Runs my 12 week scan was like that, screen facing away so I only got a quick look. But 20 week in the same hospital was facing me - maybe just luck of the day/room? Some places do private scans much more reasonably priced - I know there's one in Leeds that does them for £60 but can't remember what it's called, sorry!

Guavasforbreakfast · 02/03/2013 11:01

Sorry, we are having a boy, not were!!

photographerlady · 02/03/2013 11:01

Thanks Might will give the leg hike thing a go. I used my heart Doppler this morning and heartbeat still thumping away nicely.

Hai and dink picked up three simple light dresses from mothercare. All on sale. Will check out H&M on Monday :)

AmaDablam · 02/03/2013 11:24

Morning. Happy Saturday and congratulations on all the good scans yesterday.

I second guavas on the E45 bath emoillent. If you haven't got time for a proper soak though, the ordinary E45 lotion makes a good alternative. My skin's always been on the dry side, with occasional outbreaks of eczema and pg is no exception! I've also resorted to putting the cocoa butter cream I use on my bump on other areas that seem to need an intensive moisturise - figured it can't do any harm, and it seems to help. I've even used it as hand cream!

I did my pilates DVD this morning and it seems to have sorted my tummy ache, bizarrely. Could be coincidence but I did think there was maybe something in what you said dinky about the position of my uterus and maybe the exercises have shifted it slightly. I'm not complaining anyway.

I was meant to meet up with 2 friends today, one of whom is about 35 weeks pg but both have cancelled due to this horrible sickness bug. Not at all nice for them and disappointing to not meet up, but after a tiring week, it's probably quite a good thing to have a chill-out day instead.

Have a great day, all.

Evening! I am hiding on the sofa with my DH putting the three gremlins to bed after a busy few days! FirstlyI was ds1s 8th birthday yesterday and he was awake from 5am!

Then we had our scan! Muchly excited. But hugely nervous too as we are 1.30 for downs. Had a fan bloody tastic sonographer who keep reasuring us and showing us everything (Except gender, on our request!) Even saw the heart in in depth detail! Thankfully all soft markers were clear, which whilstnot putting baby in clear, has put ourminds at rest for anything major. Baby was really chilled, had its arms behind its head and ankles crossed!

DH said I was squeezing his hand really tight and when heart was checked and cleared my grip loosened massively! Pictures were really clear and when I said so the lovely sonographer said it was because I am slim! Now you understand why I loved her so much! I certainly dont feel slim.

I think its a pink bump and DH thinks blue so clearly neither of us havea clue! I just love him telling me what flavor it is once delivered!

Ta ra for now!

Glad you had good scans Guavas and Big belly. Your sonographer sounds lovely Bigbelly too and love the chilled baby - ds1 was like that for his scans and has remained a chilled out little fellow since. Hope ds1 had a lovely birthday.

Spent an hour while the kids were out swimming sorting, clearing and cleaning the baby area off our bedroom. Glad I tackled that task now rather than when I am humungous. Next job is to get baby gubbins out from storage in the loft - but that is dh's job:-)

Runswithsquirrels · 02/03/2013 21:29

It must be a Barnet thing, because the 12 week scan was all facing away from me and I only got to see when the sonographer pushed it in my direction, although this was for a bit longer than at the twenty week scan. Feel well and truly conned now! I think I'm going to have a private scan between 32 and 36 weeks anyway as this is what many countries do just not the UK and it seems like a good idea to check up on everything.
Glad everyone else had lovely experiences :)

TotallyEggFlipped · 02/03/2013 21:44

I wonder if the sonographers who don't make any attempt to show you the screen have ever been pregnant? Surely anyone who's ever been for a scan themselves would understand how desperate ou feel to see your baby.

Runswithsquirrels · 02/03/2013 22:44

One was a man, so safe to say he's never been pregnant!

AmaDablam · 03/03/2013 09:15

Ooh 24 hours until scan time!! (not that I'm counting or anything...) It hadn't occurred to me that you might not get to see the screen all the way through - I did for my 12 week, so hope that is usual hospital policy and not just a kind sonographer we got on the day...

Have a good Sunday everyone.

20 weeks today Smile

MightBeMad · 03/03/2013 12:15

Counting down here too AMA!!

Hi Scrho :)

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/03/2013 14:10

:o

I should have come on these threads more, I've just kind of forgotten. Confused

Still don't feel at all pregnant, no bump, no weight gain and not much movement. Very confused.

How are you (and everyone else)?

TotallyEggFlipped · 03/03/2013 14:16

Hello Schro. I was wondering about the 'unknown' due date and the lack of posting.
Welcome back!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/03/2013 14:52

Ahh yes, I got pregnant while on the nuvaring and had no idea when I conceived so had to wait on scan. :) I know now though and 20 week scan is on March 11th, excited!

Thank you, I will make sure I stay this time! The thread kept getting bumped off my "threads I'm on" so I kept forgetting about it.

I hope everyone has been well.

Thinkingof4 · 03/03/2013 15:05

Good luck with scans tomorrow AMA and might and good to hear that guavas and bigbelly scans went well

I'm feeling much better today, the sun is shining, no-one is being sick and I'm baking muffins Grin
life is good!

AmaDablam · 03/03/2013 16:39

Thanks for the good luck wishes. Lots of luck to Mightbe and Photographer too. What time are yours? Really grateful that mine is at 8.30am, no waiting around and first appointment of the day, so theoretically no chance of them running late!

Really glad to hear you're on the mend Thinking.

Good to see you again schro - I had been wondering how you'd got on and thought you might have joined another thread as you weren't sure if you were due in July or not. Glad you have a due date now though and things seem to be going well for you.

bigbelly4 · 03/03/2013 18:03

Re scans - they tend to turn screen away whilst they check for heartbeat and measurements then turn back to show.

Although it is lovely to see baby it is really to check all is ok with it.

Been on a lovely family walk today and had a really nicebath with the youngest 2 gremlins but eldest has declared heis too old to share,

MightBeMad · 03/03/2013 18:20

Welcome back schro.

Glad to hear things are better chez family thinking!

AMA, mine's at 10am same as last time, and last time they were running 2.5hrs late!

Good luck to you and to photographer! Anyone else tomorrow?

dinkystinky · 03/03/2013 18:42

Nice to see you back Schro and sounds like you are sailing through your pregnancy! Don't forget to update your due date on the runners and riders thread (link second post down from top of thread).

Good luck for scans tomorrow Ama, Mightbe and Photographer.

Bigbelly - DH bathes with the boys in our house. Its so raucous and splashy I retreat to dry land. Am more of a shower person - DS2 often comes and joins me in the morning - and then hogs all the hot water!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/03/2013 19:01

Thanks everyone. :)

Ama Yeah, I just somehow forgot to come back, glad I know when I am due though and still on the same bus! :o

Dinky Amazingly I am, apart from being knackered constantly. It's quite amazing because with DS I was really ill from beginning to end and had about every pregnancy problem going and under consultant care! I've been referred to the homebirth team this time!

I will update the due date. :)

MrsRoss26 · 03/03/2013 19:39

Hey all! Sounds like you're all getting on very well, other than the skin issues. I'm still having dry skin problems, but only on my hands. I doubt this will be resolvable Sad

I've definitely got a bump now, and alarmingly my belly button is starting to disappear! Is anyone else experienced in such horrors?? Wink

Scan on Wednesday, fingers crossed for lots of movement please!

MightBeMad · 03/03/2013 19:43

MrsRoss, yes, it went in my first pg and although it reappeared in between pgs, it didn't put up much of a fight this time around Grin
