Foof is right, I still use weleda stretch mark oil though in the vain attempt it may help a bit and it feels nice anyway! Last time I didn't get any stretch marks until about 37/38wks and suddenly got loads! It is genetic so ask your mum if she got any.

MW measured my uterus at belly button height at 16wk appt so I assume its a bit higher now, my next appt isn't til 24wks either, does seem a long way away but at least I have scan in the meantime.

Whoever said they're going on a hen do (can't see as on phone and its moved onto next page) - good luck!! You will find some energy from somewhere like I did a few weeks ago for a wedding but at about 11.30/12 I just suddenly felt exhausted and had to go - a respectable time though at least, and I danced! :-)

Hey everyone, long time no see... i've been trying to catch up on some of the posts but have only got as far back as facebook group being set up and the sheer number has defeated me i'm afraid.

I'm okay. Bump (aka puddin) is okay. DH's mum definitely has nasty brain cancer. She has had it removed but it's a nasty old business and her life expectancy is 12-14 months. So it's been a mad old few weeks but we've got some sense of a new normality now so we are just carrying on. I've just got over a nasty sinus infection ....

How's everyone else?

dave yours is one story that I was able to follow. Very scary time but glad you're feeling better now.

beckie90 · 01/03/2013 21:15

mayan sorry about your MIL :(

R.e stretch marks, I got a few with ds1 on my bum but only because I gained 4st from 7.5st lol, ds2 I didn't get 1. My mother got quite a lot on her tummy but then again she did put on 5st when having me lol. I use palmers cocoa butter just to keep bump smooth but don't think anything will prevent them if there going to come.

I've been to the dentist today for the first time in years, gums are feeling very sore now, ds2 also had his first check up he is 23 months this month n was brilliant with it, expected him to scream place down lol

Morning all, sorry to hear about your mil Mayan x

Still no movement or weight gain here. Although can't understand no weight gain as my boobs look so much bigger! Not much of a bump either, just look bloated! Loved waking up and realising it was Saturday today. Having a lazy cooked breakfast morning then off to visit mil later.

Happy weekend everyone x

Ps just noticed there's a Nov'13 thread!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/03/2013 08:36

So Sorry to hear about your MIL Mayan, I hope the next year is as normal & happy for her (and you all) as can be.

Thankfully my stretchmarks faded quickly post DS (I've got one huge one that's always there), I didn't get them until 36wks with him...but I've noticed new ones already!

Yvonney, blimey! We're old news now!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, DH is working today so the weekend starts tomorrow here!

Mayan Sorry to hear about your MIL :(

Re: stretch marks, I thought I'd got away with only a couple on my hips when I was pg with DD. Then I got a mirror and looked on the "dark side" of my bump and there were millions of tiny ones! My best friend had none at all until her due date, she went two weeks over and they sprang up all over the place.

My last remaining non-maternity jeans are on borrowed time, and they are in the wash now so I'm wearing the Jojo Maman Bebe ones I got on ebay a while ago, I LOVE how they look, but they are still a tiny bit loose so they keep revealing my bum crack. Lovely.

Now, I've mentioned before my complete inability to have dirty dreams, and last night pretty much took the biscuit. A while before I got together with DP I was having a casual fling with a friend, it was never going to be serious but the sex was good, and he was rather well endowed. Well, I dreamed last night that I found myself in bed with him after a party, and was all set for some action, but then in the dream I turned him down as I'm in a relationship. I was gutted! AIBU to think you should be able to have sex with whoever you want in a dream? (For various reasons DP and I don't have particularly mind-blowing sex, and I am really craving some.)

GaryBuseysTeeth · 02/03/2013 10:31

MrsPennyApple, YADNBU.
I had a sex dream about Jeremy Beadle last night.
Don't know if I'm more freaked out about him being dead for 5 years (he was very much alive last night!) or him being Jeremy Beadle.

Abilee90 · 02/03/2013 10:44

Mrspennyapple your in your 4th month of pregnancy arent you? Your hormones go nuts at this point and become rather intensly horny lol. I introduced ermmm toys Blush not that dh isnt good but use to a bit more wow and they seem to have made him better also lol

Mayan again sorry to hear about mil.

Stretchmarks, i dont stretch because i stick at a weight and doesnt change well when i had dd i got some really bad ones and they just havent gone at all :( bio oil, asda oil stuff dont work. I'm gonna have a electrical produce to reduce them as they are terrible and once little man is here i'll only be 23. So need my body back a bit.

Xxx

Yvonney · 02/03/2013 11:04

Gary - Jeremy Beadle?!?! (Rip) think that's going to haunt me all day!!!

Stopsittingonyoursister · 02/03/2013 11:46

I'd rather have no raunchy dreams at all than dream about Jeremy Beadle Shock! I think I'd have to go for a long hot shower to try and scrub my brain clean...

Lovely start to Saturday morning here. DH took both kids to DS' football lesson, so I could go and get a facial in town. Two child-free hours!! Now look and feel like a slightly less battered version of myself (although with huge bump suddenly).

DMum's birthday on the 29th February, so we are celebrating tomorrow. Making her birthday cake now, and then DNiece coming round to help my kids decorate it. Should be a fun afternoon - how many smarties can you fit on a 20cm cake?!

Mayan very sorry to hear about your MIL. Does she have any awareness of her situation? I hope you are all looking after yourselves.

Mrspennyapple now is the time when you can demand anything and blame it on the hormones - time to try something new?!

Stretchmarks - I was very lucky, and don't really have any despite having big babies (8lb 9 and 9lb 7 respectively). I thought I might have a few after DD, as I had red marks all under my bump after I delivered, but they only appeared because she arrived so fast and my lower bits had to stretch really quickly! The only two I have are over my hip, and DH loves them - he calls them my battle scars, which I quite like. They are a reminder that my body has nurtured and delivered two healthy (large) babies. Plus I am never planning to wear a bikini ever again!!

Have a good Saturday everyone.

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 02/03/2013 12:15

Hi all, I can't believe how much the thread has moved on!

I had my 16 week appointment and got to hear the babies heartbeat which was wonderful, the midwife said it was very clear and strong, there was the occasional little alteration which she said was the baby moving, I haven't felt anything yet, but am on high alert for any flutterings.

I have my appointment for my 20 week scan on the 25th of this month, can't believe how it has flown by. I asked if we would be able to take my mum with us to the scan too and apparently this will be no problem. I really want her to be there as she has done so much for us already and fascinated by the scan pics. They never had scans when she was having her babies and she hasn't been to her grandchildren's scans. I asked my boyfriend if he would mind and he said not. He loves my mum, calls her his adopted mum.

I am still so tired, is anybody else still so fatigued at 16 weeks? Am a bit gutted that the midwife said only paracetamol for migraines. They do nothing, and the migraines have been making me sick. Was hoping there would be something stronger and safe to take. She did say they should subside after 20 weeks though.

MrsPennyapple · 02/03/2013 12:19

Our bedroom problems are not that easily solved, unfortunately. Even the doctor has not been able to help. I just have to remind myself that sex isn't the be-all and end-all of a relationship. He is a wonderful man, which I'm reminded of when I read threads on here about the kind of behaviour some women put up with. So it rankles a bit when it looks like a sex dream is on the cards, and then I go and sabotage it myself! Unless it was Jeremy Beadle, then I'd think it was self-preservation! Ewww.

Abilee90 · 02/03/2013 20:55

We went and tested the baby jogger city select and loved it! We also tried out the icandy peach but the second seat was tiny and wouldnt last little man until dd starts walking every where. I just was looking on ebay when i found the buggy we want brand new with the second seat in the colour we want for cheaper than the single buggy without the second seat. I now just want to cry as we dont have the funds spare at all at the minute. We was gonna do a payment plan as we are trying to buy a house. :(

I really love the buggy and dd did too :( dame u ebay!

Rant over

Hey everyone... thanks for your kind thoughts.

stopsitting MiL does have awareness of her situation... and apart from the fact that she's suffering 'roid rage' from the steroids and keeps kicking off, she's actually pretty much fine. No seizures, movement, speech problems etc. Just a massive frankenstein scar on her head -and even that's mostly covered by her hair. So we're just carrying on, making sure she can enjoy everything and get stuff done before Radiotherapy starts making her feel shabby again.

Jeremy Beadle sex dreams?!.... no problem with that here, although the hormones are kicking in.

I did join the facebook group but haven't posted anything as find it all a bit confusing. But was nice looking at scan photos!

Happy sunday.

Christelle2207 · 03/03/2013 12:18

sorry about your MIL mayan. Presume she knows about the baby and that will help her have something to focus on in the coming months? We are very worried about FIL's health but he is genuinely excited about the baby which is lovely to know, he has very little else to look forward to.

abilee two of my best friends with babies have the baby jogger city select and rate it highly so that is a big thumbs up in my book. Just a bit confused about how it works with a car seat - they both live in London and use public transport a lot more than I would, we're car dependent where we are!

foof, have sent you a pm about joining the fb group - had difficulties this end! thanks
x

chocolatesolveseverything · 03/03/2013 19:48

Hello,

Just popping back in briefly.

Sorry to hear about your MIL and FIL Mayan and Christelle. DH's Granny has been very ill recently too. Still not sure she'll make it to see her 3rd great-grandchild this summer which would be a huge shame, but she's 94 and is starting to struggle with day to day living. It would be worse if she ends up living longer, but without a decent quality of life; so if she passes we'd like it to happen quickly, comfortably, and with some dignity.

No sexy dreams to report - not even with Jeremy Beadle.

I'm still not feeling movement properly yet which is annoying, but if I lie on my front I sometimes get a strange sensation in my tummy which I think might be it. More than anything though, I can feel my own heartbeat pounding down there. It's certainly working hard to get blood to the placenta, but apparently this is normal.

MrsPennyapple · 03/03/2013 21:21

Chocolate I can sometimes feel my pulse in my belly, usually at the same time as I can hear it in my right ear. But at my consultant appointment a couple of weeks ago, she said my bp was on the low end of normal.

DD has had a cold for a few days and I don't know if I've caught that as I feel pretty rough. A bit of a cold with a bit of a cough, but mostly just feeling crappy and being very tired. Think it'll be another early night tonight.

Christelle2207 · 03/03/2013 21:55

ive also been thinking i could feel pulse down below! thought i was imagining it!

FoofFighter · 03/03/2013 23:28

I can't imagine being able to lie on my front, is it not dead uncomfy? I can feel a pulsing too if I lay my hands on bumpage.

Anyone had experience of a pliko pramette? Seen one locally for £40 in good nick, the pram we wanted originally is not easily available in the colour wwe want, think it's discontinued now :(

OP posts:
duende · 04/03/2013 07:48

foof we've used pliko pramette with DS. I was really happy with it. It was really comfy for a new baby and doesn't need a carrycot.
The only drawbacks are it does not have the parent facing option once in a seat, and I didn't like the car seat that comes with it, so never used it with a car seat.
I'll write more later off to work now.

chocolatesolveseverything · 04/03/2013 08:13

Foof it's not as comfortable as it used to be but as long as I'm on a cushioned surface usually feels fine. My bump is still quite wee - have only very recently moved out of my ordinary jeans and trousers.

beckie90 · 04/03/2013 08:57

foof I also had pliko pramette with both ds1 n ds2, I quite liked both of mine, and there quite easy and convinient too. I had them for over a year of them been born xx

Chuckaluck · 04/03/2013 10:20

Hi all, back from the hen weekend, which was great fun apart from the 4.5 hour drive last night! Have woken up concerned as I haven't felt baby move all weekend. Trying to convince myself that I have been distracted so not noticed but starting to panic a bit! Foof what was it you said about baby maybe facing wrong way to feel kicks ad I suppose it could be that too? Am Off work this week so will try to chill out today and see if baby responds! If still worried tomorrow, I will ting midwife but not sure what she can say or do?
