Thanks To all of you that are suffering.

I'm currently crashed out in the sofa feeling yucky, with the shakes!
My own fault though as have been rushing about most of the day so missed lunch (which is very unlike me) then ate half a box of chocs with DH whilst waiting to pick DD up from school! So feeling suck, hungry and generally yuck.

On the plus side DH is cooking me a special valentines meal, consisting mainly of potatoes and cheese, with some salad for good measure. Bless him he is so good with my pregnancy weirdness, even after going through it all twice already.

Big hugs to all suffering with sickness, whether it be pregnancy related or otherwise.

I had my 16 week midwife appt today. I have a new midwife who is lovely and explained the whole consultant thing a bit better. Feel like a bit of a failure for having to be referred to the consultant for my BMI but she explained it all and made me feel a bit better. I was also pleased as she explained that I might be able to use the birthing pool, which originally was a complete no no. Anyone else been referred to the consultant? On the plus side, I do get an extra scan in third trimester!

Heard baby's heartbeat which was lovely and definitely starting to feel baby kick. DH came to appt and seeing his face when we heard heartbeat was lovely.

Romance is not dead in our house - my DH told me that he had ordered some flowers but they were coming tomorrow as it was cheaper!! Might go get some fish and chips, can't be bothered to cook!!!!

Hi, not caught up with all todays posts but just wanted to say my scan went well! There was definately a baby in there jumping around! Got all measurements taken. Due date put back 2 days so now 28th Aug, although I was a week early with my DS. Good news is cos I have Crohn's disease I'm getting a 20 week scan, then another at 28 weeks, 32 & 36 weeks Smile Our DS was over the moon when we told him x

RugBugs · 14/02/2013 19:05

Hurray Yvonney!

I'm wearing a jersey dress today and didn't think I was showing but I got such an evil look from a woman in m&s this afternoon taking DPs corona to the checkout!

LexiLoganberryBump · 14/02/2013 20:17

chuchaluck I've been referred to a consultant too because of my bmi, I was a wreck before my booking in appointment with the midwife but she really put my mind at rest.
Have you had your consultant appointment yet? I was told they'd try to have it at the same time as my scan but haven't heard anything and scan was yesterday, will mention to midwife at 16 week check.

Yvonney Congratulations on your scanSmile

Abilee90 · 14/02/2013 20:22

Chuck - i also have a consultant, one for my bmi which is all due to not losing baby weight. I have another for my heart condition and then another for my knee all in one pregnancy. But glad to know that you can still have a water birth.

Dd is on the road to being better :) no sick. Dh on other hand :(
My chest feels like i have an elephant sitting ontop of me on fire :(

Just had 3 dippey eggs with soliders :) just what bean wanted.

Xxx

Woodifer · 14/02/2013 20:26

Ooh ta for the welcomes foof and ruck blimey this thread moves fast! I've not been too sick, just a bit nauseous and combatting it by eating inordinate amounts of junk! Non-stop. Starting to feel a bit more human - but still pretty knackered!

OxfordToLondoner · 14/02/2013 20:36

Am rather sick of all the red roses pics on Facebook. For the first time we decided to totally ignore V-Day. Just about to go to bed (830!) with DS as dH is away for the night. Perfectly happy!

Chuckaluck · 14/02/2013 20:57

Hi Lexi and Abi, first midwife had mentioned it at booking in and said I might get an appt come through or might not. Midwife today was very definate that I should have it and called up and made an appt whilst I was sat there so I have an appt on 21 March. Midwife did say it wasn't anything to worry about and I would probably think why did they bother so we will see!!

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 05:39

I give up! Dd is being sick again 4 times since 4am. I'm shattered! Not slept, elephant on my chest! Crying cause i cant take it away. All i wanna do is take it away! Its like ding ding round 2. I cant keep up anymore! I feel terrible and what worse is i'm getting no help.

Sorry ladies dont mean to rant, just cant suffer in online silence when i am indoors :(

Yvonney · 15/02/2013 06:16

Oh Abilee sorry your dd still not well Sad rant away, you must be shattered. Do you have any family nearby that could give you a hand to take all the pressure of you a bit? Sending hugs, take care xxx Brew Thanks

RememberingMyPFEs · 15/02/2013 08:39

Welcome Woodifer

chuck I'm also under consultant due to age, 1st DC and Mum had hypertension in her late 50s. Annoyed the crap out of me and my consultants appt was a waste of time (had it at 13 weeks) Despite consistent BP of 110/60 I'm "at risk of high BP and Pre-eclampsia" so on Asprin Sad
Also told I "can't" go beyond 40+0 as at the ripe old age of 40+3months my placenta will magically cease working on exactly that day... Angry jobsworth
Hope your consultants appts all go bette ThanksThanks

RememberingMyPFEs · 15/02/2013 08:40

PS Hope all you poorly mums and mums with poorly DCs feel better soon
Thanks

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 09:17

My real mum is in spain (lives their 8 months of year) adopted mum gas m.e so i cant risk her getting it and mil has a disabled husband who cant get this as it will make his eplipsey worse, she gas been helping us out picking up stuff from shop and dropping it round. stacey212528 · 15/02/2013 09:31

Abilee hope things get better soon!

Have ny scan this afternoon to check peanuts organs and stuff so fingers crossed. Though I'm not best pleased about venturing out looking like I am. Spots everywhere. Scarf wrapped round the face it is don't want to scare any children! Hope everyone is keeping well/better than they were. Xx

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/02/2013 11:11

I've brought a pram!!!!

Decided to buy a very similar one to the one I had with DD. I've brought a second hand mamas and papas ultima mpx chassis (9 in 1) although we haven't brought the surefix stand as we're not sure we would really use it, we'll get it later if we think it's nessersary. Last time we had the xcel chassis because I walked into town and brought alot of fruit veg from the local market and needed the strong basket, this time we don't need the strong basket so went for manouvreability the mpx chassis offers instead. We've just unpacked it and it's in amazing condition. I'm so happy with it, complete bargain, no way we could afford the £900 price tag of a new one.

abi sorry your DD and DH still aren't well.

wavesandsmiles · 15/02/2013 11:33

Welcome to woodifer and Thanks to everyone who is poorly or dealing with poorly DCs.

Exciting news on the pram lexi Smile

I'm still vomiting and consequently feeling utterly fed up. Medication should be arriving tomorrow, so until then I am lying down as much as possible. DCs are out with DDs godmother today which is nice, particularly as it is a beautifully sunny day so they are getting to make the most of it (half term here this week)

I have an official appointment with my consultant on Thursday - it is the 4th reschedule as I have been in hospital so missing all the others. However, I have actually been seeing a consultant every day that I have been in, so not convinced there will be anything new to discuss! I don't have any risk factors that would automatically put me into high risk, but over here everyone gets a consultant appointment anyway.

I'm looking forward to 14 March when I have the 20 week scan. Less than 4 weeks to wait, and hopefully the HG will have eased by then

FoofFighter · 15/02/2013 13:05

Afternoon all,

Was a bit concerned that I hadn't felt baby moving about but I reckon it is hiding with it's limbs towards my back, why is there always something to worry about grrrr?? Walking back from work felt an awful sensation in my belly, think it upended itself and was doing cartwheels, made me feel sick!

Going for a lie down in a bit as pretty whacked after being out late last night (till 10pm!!)

stacey212528 · 15/02/2013 13:12

Foof I'm the same, always worrying. I haven't felt any movement at all yet /: just got to trust everything is ok. Hope you feel better.

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 14:45

Hey ladies, dd is bit better yay :) she is interested in food finally.
And more interested in playing too. Dh is on the mend also. I have disinfected my lounge and kitchen so even tho i felt like poo, i feel bit better now as i just got on with things.

Foof - i went out last sunday for lunch with friends and by 4pm i was shattered lol.

Stacey - i looked like a pock a dot person when i had chicken pox lol good luck with scan :) cant wait to hear about it.

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 15:01

Also stacey this is your first bubba, you prob wont feel bubba move for a few more weeks. I was 17 weeks when i felt dd. you are more aware with your second as you know what your waiting to feel.

FoofFighter · 15/02/2013 15:40

What abi says ^ this is my third DC (5th pg though) so my muscles are shot lol

OP posts:
RuckAndRoll · 15/02/2013 15:55

abi glad your DD is on the mend, wanting to play is a good sign :-)

Well I've just agreed a return to work plan with HR. I was starting to go stir crazy stuck in the house. Start back Monday but with an assigned person to keep an eye on me incase I collapse/fall down the stairs (it's a fairly small office with lots of quiet places I could be and no one would know).

Lexi that's so organised. We can't seem to find anywhere that stocks the pram we want to see, loads online but nowhere has it in store. Everywhere has the bugaboo, icandys, stokkes, mclarens, but nothing else!

waves fingers crossed you feel better soon and the meds work wonders for you.

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 15:59

Ruck have you searched the buggy make and area you live for stockists? There a shop near me that stock icandy and bugaboo. Off to have a look next week when everyone is better. I also have a huge kiddicare and mothercare near me so hopefully will find one :)

Xx
