Hi Ladies

Lexi how exciting on the pram! I have that model too, with MPX chassis which is fab. What colour is it (obviosuly that's the most important thing, LOL!). We only really used the surefix stand as a base instead of a moses basket. I had a swinging crib upstairs next to the bed, until they stopped feeding at night and then they were in their own rooms, but I found the stand downstairs meant I could put the DC down for a nap and then if they were still asleep and I needed to go out, I could just unclip the pram base, stick it on the wheels, and with a bit of luck they would stay asleep. Not so important with DC1 because if he was asleep I just waited until he woke up, but with DC2 when I was up and down to playgroup to pick DS up, it was a god send.

Well, after worrying that I wasn't feeling any movements, yesterday was a complete circus! We had cartwheels, kicks from all directions, and all sorts! Think it was because I sat down a bit more yesterday, so I was more aware when there was movements iyswim. I also agree with you, foof that sometimes, I think the baby is just pointing towards my spine, so I don't feel anything. Doesn't stop the worry though, does it?! stacey if this is your first, I didn't feel DS move until after 20 weeks, only when he properly started booting me in the kidneys (nice), so like abi says, try not to worry.

Welcome woodifer hope you are feeling ok.

Good luck to all ladies having scans today. Has everyone had one now, or anyone still waiting?

abilee glad your DD is feeling a bit better, hope it lasts xx

waves hope you start feeling better soon, it seems to have taken ages for your meds to arrive. We have the same 20 week scan date. Hope things are at least bearable at home Thanks.

We are off to center parcs tonight, just waiting for DH to come home. Kids are running round like wild things, I have confined them to one room so that they rest of the house can stay tidy! Been packing all day, it takes so long with DD "helping". Really looking forward to it, as are DCs. According to DS' teacher, he hasn't been able to say anything all day that wasn't somehow connected with him going to CP tonight, I bet she was glad to see the back of him Grin!

LexiLoganberryBump · 15/02/2013 16:38

It's not that I'm organised really, I liked 2 prams and DH didn't like one of them and I found it on ebay so couldn't risk it selling, it was removed from the aution a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was sold then it became available again so brought it as soon as we knew teabag was ok.

sitting it's the cityscape fabric, what fabric is yours?
Also enjoy centre parcs.

DaveMccave · 15/02/2013 17:04

sitting I am so jealous. Have a great time!

I've got a child free weekend and not in work tomorrow for a change. We thought about going and staying in a b&b or something for a night but too indecisive. So we're going to go to Cheshire oaks in about an hour for food, to look and see if they have any maternity clothes in h&m and mamas and papas, (I believe thy have those super cute but ludicrously expensive blankets in there half price so I may try and sneak one of them. 25 quid is still a bit much for a blanket though isn't it?) and then the cinema. Think we're going to go to the science and industry museum in manc tomorrow. And i'll take dd the circus on sunday. What's everyone else up to this weekend?

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 18:06

Dave thats a crazy price for a blanket. Sadly all spare money is going into buying house and buggy, but i have a lovely adopted mum that loves to knit blankeys. My dd comfortors is one of nannys knitted blankeys. She cant sleep without it.

Xxx

FoofFighter · 15/02/2013 18:42

Those blankets are lovely though, I have a few made with love and gingerbread ones on watch on Ebay Blush

Plans for the weekend include working both days but tomorrow am meeting my girliefriends for a Greek meal :) thankfully it's a lunch so the nausea won't have hit!

Hello all! Little update here. Just had 16 wk appointment and heard a strong heartbeat. Am chuffed to bits!! Been feeling a few movements for a couple of weeks and midwife said some of the noises meant baby was kicking quite hard!! Fortnight since nt and still not had anything through the post so she rang through. Low risk. Yeah!

Happy weekend everyone!

muddybloodypuddles · 15/02/2013 19:42

foof - wow that's quite a gap - i am one of 5 girls who are now 38, 36, 29, 19 & 16 - my mum was a grandma at 36 - and 2 of my nieces are older than my youngest sister! Grin - thanks for the Bounty tip as well - will fill out my false name! Shock

Stacey - how did the scan go? all okay I hope - i didn't feel movements with my first until 21 weeks

Dave - ooh a child free weekend how lovely! And yes £25 is a lot for a blanket but, if its in the sale and you really want it.... Grin

Lexi - well done with the pram that's the main big thing out of the way!

Abi - hope everyone is feeling better soon so you can start being looked after for a change!! Good to hear your dd is better too

Stopsitting - my movements keep coming and going but def feel more when laying / sitting still (as well as after eating chocolate!)

Still getting knackered quite easily, took DS to a playdate this afternoon and after telling him off because I saw him push and hit this other kid when they were fighting over a toy, it wasn't until we were in the car and DS said his leg hurt where this boy apparently bit him. So I checked his leg when we got home and he had been bitten it had drawn blood!(through his trousers) So just had an awkward text conversation with his mum, wasn't sure whether to tell her but thought I would want someone to tell me... she texted me back to say her son admitted it as soon as she asked him so he's been dealt with.. hate dealing with things like that (I'm not v good with confrontation).
Just had a chinese and now vegging on the sofa :)

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 19:59

Muddy - you must teach me how you can remember everyones name and conversation. I also have ordered chinese and will hopefully be munching on it soon. I think you have to bite the bullet and just face the problem head on. And christ how hard did he bite him. I had a problem with my adopted mums grandson. He was purposely hurting my dd (13 months old) and had to say as she cant say herself. Awkward lol.

Stacey - how did scan go?

I thought i would give you ladies a laugh, i sneezed and look at dh and said i had wet myself :/ embarrassing but it was a false alarm. Now my dh fakes sneezes and says he has wet himself arghh lol. Everyone seems to be alot better yay :)

Xxxx

FoofFighter · 15/02/2013 20:54

If it makes you feel better Abi, at the weekend when I was very forcefully vomiting, leaning over the loo bowl, I piddled myself Blush

Re remembering peoples names, I don't tend to really, sometimes if I cba I open another window and scroll through and type the message in the other window Grin

Really glad your family is getting better Abi

I bought my new niece a lovely blanket from zara. Was more than I would spend on ourselves but is cotton and a cot sized one though. Zara have some gorgeous silky almost faux fur like blankets that stay really soft and snuggly when washed (we borrowed one for DD and I was quite sad to give it back) I really want one of our own this time.
The mamas & papas blankets are buy one get one half price in shops, I never get past the clothes in the outlet!

It's DPs mothers birthday tomorrow so we are off round to theirs. I need to find some clothes I don't look huge in. Feeling very conscious that I can't suck it all in now.

RugBugs · 15/02/2013 21:19

Wow! But it is sheepskin! Think the sheepskin liner for a phil & teds is about £70!

We got a grey one from John Lewis for £18, absolute pain in bloody arse it is. Zip got stuck on the label every time no matter how close I trimmed it Angry

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 21:50

Dame foof thats expensive. Also that did make ms feel better but aww poor you.

Chinese was crap :( so not a happy bunny. Was really hungry aswell.

Xxx

Abilee90 · 15/02/2013 21:51

And thank u rugs :)

GaryBuseysTeeth · 15/02/2013 21:52

Welcome Wood!!

I didn't want a footmuff for (Winter born) DS, MIL insisted we get one (bought it for us), it lasted a month on the buggy before I ripped it out, uselss thing, like you rugs it kept getting caught in zip & it just got DS hot & agitated...although we're not in Scotland, I know you people actually have Winter weather up there!

The buggy I want has, according to the website, one shop stocking it in the UK, in Cumbria. I've suggested a road trip, but DH is happy to buy it online & pray it fits in boot.

MrsD, hurrah for heartbeat & low risk!

Stacey, how did the scan go?

Abi, glad things are getting better for you, very jealous of all you ladies having Chinese, my stomach has gone off food...my big fat mouth however!

Dave, have a wonderful childfree weekend! Sounds like you've got loads planned!

If all the scans are out of the way I think it's safe to say we'll not have any Aug Twins+?
I was secretly hoping for twins, so at least we didn't have to plan DC3! Grin

LouiseD29 · 15/02/2013 22:54

How is everyone doing? Anyone got a visible bump yet? Smile

Abilee90 · 16/02/2013 00:37

Think i am coming down with bug :( feeling reallg sick can feel it bubbling. Hoping not as i will be hospitalized as i'm high risk :(

Xx

stacey212528 · 16/02/2013 01:07

Hey ladies. Scan was great, peanut is measuring slightly smaller than he/she could be but is still within average (: so am a lot more settled now that I know. Also midwife said that it's not policy to change the due date they give you. So even if they know they've got it wrong they won't change your notes. Am I the only one that finds that a bit odd? Glad everyone is feeling better Abilee hope it passes quickly!

duende · 16/02/2013 08:07

Hi, this thread moves quickly!
Congratulations on all old scans, heartbeats, kicks and purchases :)
I definitely have a visible bump, in maternity clothes most of the time, but at least it definitely looks like a pregnant bump, not "I had too many burgers" bump.

I can't feel the baby move yet, even though its my second and I'm 16 weeks.
I can hear the heartbeat with the Doppler though so not worrying.

RugBugs · 16/02/2013 09:39

Morning!

Hope you managed to keep the vom at bay Abi

I guess it only makes a difference if you have to be induced Stacey, being put forward greatly benefits me if I am induced as DP is a teacher and we were very close to the beginning of September.

I can't work my bump out! It's quite high.

Abilee90 · 16/02/2013 09:51

Rugs i did keep it at bay and i dont know how lol dont feel sick this morning. Maybe it was bean being naughty lol or the fact i kept saying i will not be sick, i will not be sick lol.

Poor dh has a dodgey bum so going to get him so imodium.
Dd is back to her usual self now :)

Stacey glad your scan went well. I was measuring big but they only put me forward 3 days. Second babys are meant to be bigger. My dd was only 7lb 8oz and i went 16 days over due :(

Xxx

RugBugs · 16/02/2013 10:26

Nooooo Abi I was hoping for another small baby!
DD was 7lb1 (at 37wks) and stayed small for the first year. Her genes caught up with her then though, she's very tall and often mistaken for being a year older.

This one was measuring 66mm at 12+6, no idea how average that is.

FoofFighter · 16/02/2013 10:27

gary what buggy have you got your eye on then? [nosey]

Abi, nothing worse than a disappointing chinese takeaway!!

Stacey, probably because a few days here and there makes no difference anyway and baby will turn up when it feels like it lol

Louise - yes sometimes, over the course of the day it pops out, last few days it's been hiding though and worrying me although am trying to be rational and say it's cause it's hiding at the back somewhere and I just can't feel it. I think when you've already lost one, any little thing sends your mind into overdrive Sad don't think you ever truly relax apart from the day you have a scan!

Rugs, mine is usually low but then zooms up high, was really surprised how high the scanner moved the doofer up actually, past my belly button at one point!

Just workign out what I can wear out for my girly lunch that will let me eat but also won't dig in, won't look huge etc, this in between bit is awful!

have a good day everyone x

OP posts:
Abilee90 · 16/02/2013 10:38

Rugs you think if she had stayed in for the extra 3 weeks they almost a pound on every week til born. The last 3 weeks they put loads of weight on. My bump wasnt very big and was all water, my waters kept going for 2 days lol. I think this baby will be about 8lb for me :( me and my dh aint huge ourselves. So hoping so lol. Dd is a chunk but she loves her food so i put it down to that.

Foof i'm still annoyed about it :( blooming shocking didnt eat hardly any of it :(

Whats everyones plans today xx

Abilee90 · 16/02/2013 12:06

I have decided to make rice crispie bird nests with my dd today as we are having an indoors day :)
